As a Sharks fan who is used to variations of black jerseys with simplified striping for the last 20 years, absolutely. Not that I don't like them, it just isn't a surprise anymore. I am much more excited about the possibility of the team addressing the one thing I dislike about their current uniforms.

Yes, alt equipment is primarily meant to be paired with the alt jersey but I see things trending the other way in the near future. The Sharks are also the type of team to expect experimentation from. Since the beginning of November the Sharks have worn teal helmets with their away uniform 14 times. The only game they haven't worn that combo was when they wore their home uniform in LA so the Kings could wear their alts. It seems they prefer to be in the other 10% if they feel it looks better.

If the sharks bring back the black breezers and gloves (and bring back teal numbers on the road), they would look phenomenal. I just don't like the pajama look.

  2. The red dominance of the road jersey from the first set kind of feels off.

The 2nd set looks really good, but it very similar to the Panthers main set.

The third one is good (can it be on the grey background to have the colors stand on their own?), though I'm not a fan of that logo. Maybe the new capitals script could work there,

I love them too. Part of me wants some of the gray/silver from the original set in there, but I don't know where and I wonder if it would take away from the teal's dominance. They did a great job on this set.

Can't disagree more. I think this IHL pajama look sucks. Needs grey/orange or black pants and teal numbers for the road

It's AI, it doesn't know how to focus.

Or figure out there are letters in the stripes...

Truth be told, this would be 1000% better than orange helmet and orange jersey

I really thought they were going to use standard Bruins yellow but work in some metallic shiny thread to make it sparkle in the light. Alas.

Got our first look at the Bruins centennial jerseys on the ice on Sunday, and it went exactly as I expected it would. In still images, these uniforms look really good. The gold pops nicely, and it clearly looks like the Bruins despite the differences. On TV, though, the gold gets super washed out and it looks more like a franchise whose colors are black and silver than black and yellow. This is one of the issues unique to hockey, too. Football, baseball, and basketball are played on a backdrop with a more neutral brightness, while hockey is on a white background that washes out colors on TV. So, when you swap out yellow for metallic gold on small stripes, it really makes a difference.

The new logo at center ice does look awesome, though. But why is the centennial logo only on one of the shoulders?

Bruins notebook: What we learned in first preseason game of 2023 season

Brandon Bussi sits on the ice in his crease as he watches a puck spin away from the net as Reilly Walsh looks on.Matthew Poitras shouts as he hugs Reilly Walsh after scoring a power-play goal in the preseason opener vs. the Rangers.

The white numbers really look out of place too. They could have made the metallic gold sit better if they just didn't do something so non-bruins. I fear for the future.

All the Bruins need to do is put the new logos on the regular jerseys, gold socks with b/w/b stripe for the home, and maybe update the road to have gold yoke and keep the striping the same from the home. Basically the 70s look but with the updated template.

Any of your recent designs are miles better than what they put out

Wow those are extremely underwhelming and I'm being polite cause this site doesn't allow swear words

What kinda moron in the front office decided it was a good idea to unveil a bunch of crappy second rate Vegas gold era Penguins/Golden Knights hybrids that look NOTHING like a Bruins jersey should look like to celebrate such a milestone? Makes no sense to me. Seriously, take the logo off and can anyone tell me with a straight face that it looks like a Bruins jersey? The shade of gold sucks, the black socks suck, the font sucks and even the alternate kinda sucks. I hate the numbers in the logo, it looks very cheap and something tells me they're gonna wear brown helmets with those cream jerseys and it's gonna make the whole thing look even more amateurish, like a minor hockey team that can't afford two sets of helmets. The only good thing I have to say about that new set of jerseys is that they're only gonna stick around for one season. Thank god

And I'm not even saying this as a biased Habs fan, on the contrary, I've always thought the Bruins had nice jerseys. I expect more from them!

Why couldn't they just wear a bunch of retro jerseys throughout the season and wear a patch on their regular jerseys the rest of the time?

As a Bruins fan, I definitely agree with you. These are awful. White numbers?? Black socks?? I was expecting a jersey from three different eras, Orr, Bourque and Bergeron (all the old timey classic ones have been mined for Winter Classics already). Home - Bourque, Road - Orr, and Third - Bergeron. That would tie up the history together.

    White numbers??/// WTF?

  8. My god, it's the perfect set (with gold socks on the home)! I've struggled to think of where the Bruins go from their current set. I love the 70's to 90's set, and I miss it, but I also love their current set, but you found a way to give us both, and make them work together with an awesome third (seriously, no more blah black thirds, we need a brown).

Before I post my Kraken concept, what are your thoughts on the Jets and the Caps?

As far as the Kraken Reverse Retro is concerned, I picked the current palette over the red and green of the Metropolitans.

On the Caps main set, the navy being the bottom stripes makes the whole uni feel weighted down with all red up top (including the helmet, and navy by the waist only.

I like the Manitoba Moose stylings for the alternate, but there are some secondary logos that should never be the main crest, and the Jets have one of them.

Up next is the Los Angeles Kings!

This jersey was designed to be a soft rebrand, sort of like the Kings' 2008 alternate. The Kings have had more distinctly different visual brands than most teams in the league, and this jersey tries to tie them all together while staying true to the team's current identity. The jersey crest meshes the Gretzky-era logo with the Kings' current wordmark, the sunglasses-wearing lion from the Kings' Y2K brand makes an appearance on the shoulders, and the Kings' inaugural shade of forum blue returns to the color palette.

How do you feel about these?

This is the best Kings jersey I've ever seen. And yes, I'd love a soft rebrand based on this....!

Thank you! When I first started I was using a different template. I completed two teams (Washington and Carolina) before switching to the other template. That is why they are on a different template.  Perhaps I will put them on the other template soon.

The TB and SJ arm stripes I feel need to be separated from the cuffs. Otherwise feels too "heavy" on the bottom, For TB, for example, need the base jersey color to continue before getting the thinner grey cuff stripe.

Kings, I can't see that logo any other way than in Purple on gold now. It's the best it's ever looked.

St.L - I don't feel there is any need in the design for the arm stripes to be slanted. Just make them horizontal, it will fit much better with the overall look. Maybe it would feel too similar to NSH with similar colors, but I don't think so, the usage and inclusion of royal blue make it different.

Your point about the mix-match chaos is 100% valid. BUT, I can think of a bunch of other teams that I would love a alternate helmet. For starters:

    Rams (anything but their primary)

Cardinals (red helmet would be cool)

    Titans (white)

    Seahawks (gray)

    Patriots

    Buffalo (red)

And that's just off the top of my head.

My only hesitation is that I feel like the NFL helmet is sort of more sacred than the uniform. Maybe it was collecting them from the gumball machine when i was a kid or something. But it sort of takes away from how special they are if teams have more than one.

They don't need alternate helmets, they just need to pick the better ones, Bills in Red, Rams in classic, Titans in White, Seahawks in grey, Patriots... silver works... Cardinals can stay in white.

Alts suck for the most part, and the season is too short to be mixing and matching.  I literally stopped watching NCAA because of the nonsense, as I never knew who was playing who anytime I turned in on.  Brand identify matters.

nike made a t shirt with that logo a few years back...not sure if they sell it now but the bears team store in the past has had a wide array of retro logo merch that was really nice...this was all pre-fanatics mind you.

Yup, I bought two of them.  Flippin' fantastic!
