Doesn’t have the little notch at the end. Interesting.

Good catch. I wonder if that's for a more simplified/scaled down license plate version or if they may remove it going forward.

  2. 2 things with the jazz:

    1. Adding another color scheme doesn't help with forming an identity. But I think what Smith is going for is the whole set of jerseys will be similar when this change takes place. So not 1 red/orange, 1 blue, 1 purple. They will all be black/white/yellow.

    2. And it sounds like the Jazz are keeping the J-note logo. Wonder if it'll be a random secondary logo or if it will fit in with the new logo(s).

  3. Most of those courts are alt courts though. And one thing is if that's the shade of yellow Utah will use (highlighter yellow) I'm not sure how that would look on a court either.

Time to fire up 2k and tinker with jerseys/court with the new colorway.

  4. Has a rebrand been done like this before? It's weird that the Jazz are updating social media accounts and posts to this black white yellow before a change even happens.

Practice court, logos at the arena are already changed to black and white. Seems like a weird way to go about it before actually making the change.

The difference being those teams keep the same color scheme, and if you bother to really look most teams have kept the same basic look for decades.

That's true. The Jazz seem to change their colors around more than the rest.

They need to update because they’ve had a uniform for 5 years? How about they keep a look for longer than 5 years and allow it to grow and become their identity rather than changing it every 5 years. They can have different alternates as much as they want. I don’t care at this point with how the league is at this point. But when you don’t have an established look and are constantly changing it they end up not having an identity at all. Who are the jazz? Are the the green yellow and purple? Are they the purple mountains? Are they the bronze jazz? Are they the double blue jazz? Are they the navy green and yellow jazz? Or are the now the nets imposter jazz?

You may need to check their uniform history haha. They have had plenty of looks for longer than 5 years.

I just think the current base set (icon and association have become stale. Yes there are the new statements and city editions frequently that provide some fresh looks, but to me their base set needs changed. Whether it's around 5 years or 10 years I've grown tired of it.

Also I didn't check around but I'm pretty sure a lot of teams switch up jerseys every 5 or so years unless it's the Celtics/Lakers.

  7. I'm surprised by all the non-jazz fans hate lol. Nearly every jazz fan hates the idea, but nearly every non jazz fan hates it too haha.

I'll be the quiet minority that likes the idea so far. I think they have needed a refresh/new look for a while.

  8. I've heard the rumors about the Jazz switching to black and white with yellow as an accent. From what the owner said is that "it won't be just black and white, but those will serve as the base." So not sure how yellow got added except for the Jazz game schedule.

But regardless i'm excited. They also said they will be getting a new logo (not sure if its just a recolor of their current or a new one all together).

I like the blue, green, yellow look they have now, but I do think its time to update their normal set since they've had since 2016.

  9. For what it's worth Dwyane Wade on Twitter was asked if he'll bring back the purple for the jazz. He said no that would be too typical and they aren't typical. Said some fresh new heat was coming. (Obviously not for this season).
