  1. My predictions: Mayfield: Will go on to have a fairly good career with the Browns, won't be anything close to a total bust like Manziel. I think with the right team around him, he will probably lead them to a playoff appearance or two. Will probably end up being the 2nd best QB coming out of this draft. (Best career comparison: Sam Bradford) Darnold: I joked earlier that he's Sanchez 2.0, but I don't think he'll flame out the same way Sanchez did. The turnovers are an issue, but I actually think he'll become a fairly decent starting QB for a long time. I just don't see him ever living up to the "3rd overall pick" hype. (Best career comparison: Alex Smith) Allen: You guys already know how I feel about this pick. Allen has all the physical tools to become a great QB, but he has accuracy/timing/footwork issues and most experts will tell you that you just can't fix that stuff over time. Everybody thinks this kid is going to be Carson Wentz 2.0, but Wentz was actually much more polished coming out of NDSU and nobody ever question his accuracy or footwork. At his best, he won't be any more effective as a starter than Tyrod Taylor was. I hate to say it, but I predict Allen will be another first round bust for the Bills. (Best career comparisons: J.P. Losman/E.J. Manuel/Brady Quinn) Rosen: I think Rosen will prove himself to be the best QB of this class. He landed in the most ideal situation for him (will sit behind Bradford until an inevitable injury occurs, has great weapons and a solid running game behind him, plays home games in a dome). The Cardinals got a steal at the 10th pick. There's always the potential that he could end up like Matt Leinart with his injury history, but I think he'll become an All-Pro level starter for a long time. (Best career comparison: Matt Stafford) Jackson: I remember when everyone thought that Troy Smith was going to be the future franchise QB for the Ravens back in '07. But I think Jackson has WAY more talent and he has the benefit of sitting behind a proven starter for at least a full year. I think his ceiling is somewhere at the Tyrod Taylor level, but he's still a huge wild card. I think he'll be productive in the future, but nowhere near the level of a first round QB. (Best career comparisons: Kyle Boller/Vince Young) I think this class of QBs will be more similar to the 2014 class than the 2004 class. Maybe two guys will go on to have long careers (ala Carr & Bortles), and the rest will either be career backups or complete busts. As far as I know, no other QB draft class in history will ever be able to live up the hype as the '83 and '04 classes did.
  2. Ohtani with another homer tonight but the Angels lose in extra innings to the Yankees.
  3. Here's a good question for you guys: Who has the better chance of pulling off a second round upset, Utah or New Orleans?
  4. I feel the same way that I did when Kevin Everett started walking again. I'm happy that he recovered from a horrific injury, but there's no way I want to see him on a football field ever again.
  5. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000929230/article/josh-rosen-nine-mistakes-were-made-ahead-of-me QBs that the Bills have passed on in the last eight NFL Drafts: 2011- Andy Dalton, Colin Kaepernick 2012- Russell Wilson, Nick Foles, Kirk Cousins 2014- Derek Carr, Jimmy Garopollo, Blake Bortles 2016- Dak Prescott 2017- Deshaun Watson 2018- Josh Rosen
  6. On the plus side, the NFC West is now loaded from top to bottom with stud QBs. At least you guys have the best defense in the division.
  7. I really hope I'm wrong about Allen, but this was just a stupid decision. Seriously? Oh wow, hey guys let's take the stereotypical "blue collar" kid who played in some cold weather up in Wyoming over the best quarterback still on the board (and in my opinion, the best QB in the draft next to Mayfield). Congrats Buffalo, you just played yourself. Looking forward to watching Rosen throw for 4,000+ yards a season in AZ while the Bills are stuck with a QB who throws really hard in the snow three times a year.
  8. Picking Allen over Rosen will be remembered as one of the biggest mistakes in the long history of Draft blunders by the Bills.
  9. So Rosen and Allen are both still on the board. Does Arizona move ahead of Buffalo to get one of them? Please God just let someone else take Allen off the board.
  10. Sam Darnold has Mark Sanchez 2.0 written all over him.
  11. I'm calling it now, the Bills will trade up to pick #4 and select Josh Rosen. He will then lead the Bills to a Super Bowl title in 2023.
  12. Props to Alvin Gentry for maximizing the talent on that team. Look at what AD, Jrue and Rondo are doing so far: Davis: 33ppg, 12rpg, 2.7bpg Holiday: 27.8ppg, 4rpg, 6.5 apg Rondo: 11.3ppg, 7.5 rpg, 13.3 apg Even Nikola Mirotic has been huge for them (averaged 18/9 against POR). The Pels defense forced Lillard to either get rid of the ball or take contested shots, which resulted in him shooting a dismal 35% from the field. The Rondo/Jrue combo has been outstanding for them on the defensive end. I'm just not sure how they'll fair against GS with or without Curry, because even if they find a way to trap Durant and get the ball out of his hands, I don't see how they're going to be able stop Klay from knocking down open three's and vice versa. As for Utah, I've been blown away by how well Ricky Rubio has been playing. I also forgot how loud that Utah crowd can get when that team is on a roll. Still not a fan of the sunset jerseys though.
  13. I didn't know that had already been announced.
  14. The full 2018 regular schedule will be released Thursday night! My guess is that we'll see an Eagles-Cowboys season opener since the NFL & NBC love themselves a primetime NFC East matchup.
  15. Red Sox have now outscored the Angels 19-1 through two games in this series. Yikes.
  16. Wow... Donovan Mitchell does not look like a rookie at all. How in the heck did he fall to 13th overall in the Draft? Huge win for Utah tonight to tie up that series. Looks like the Timberwolves are either gassed or just can't seem to get things clicking offensively. Or maybe it's those awful gray jerseys.
  17. Jaylen and Rozier have really stepped up. You would think that the Celtics backcourt would be struggling at this point with Hayward, Kyrie and Smart all injured. But these young guys can really ball. Milwaukee's guards looked completely outmatched tonight.
  18. Jrue Holiday, Rajon Rondo and Anthony Davis just stole two games on the road from Portland. Holiday has been out-performing Lillard in this series by a mile.
  19. They're clearly the best team in baseball right now, IMO. Angels need to find a way to bounce back from this 10-1 butt-whooping tonight.
  20. Angels are now 13-3, best start through 16 games in franchise history.
  21. Pelicans played great defense all game long. AD finally gets his first postseason victory. I think this series is the most likely to go a Game 7 this round.
  22. Technically, they came out about ten weeks before Color Rush Thursdays made it's debut. But I will concede the point...
  23. The Angels are 10-3 and are atop the AL West standings. Normally the Astros would already have a five-game lead by this point.
  24. Until I actually see the Rockets take down the Warriors in a 7-game series, I'm bracing for a third championship victory in four years for Golden State. But I really hope I'm wrong because I'd love to see a Rockets-Sixers Finals series.
