  1. Thank God. I'm hoping they bring back a variation of the full top bar scorebugs they used from 2001-2009. Anything will be better than the boring scorebug they've been using for the past few years.
  2. If it means kicking Booger out of the MNF booth I'm all for it, but I think Romo will stay with CBS. He's got great chemistry with Nantz and CBS has more marquee games.
  3. Bring back NFL Europe and put four teams in the UK. Better yet, they should relocate the four worst NFL franchises and send them over there as punishment, making them permanent NFL Europe teams. Those fans won't care that they have to sit through a Chargers-Bengals or Jets-Jaguars game every week, they'll just be excited to watch NFL football! This also will reduce the number of NFL teams down to 28 ( with two divisions per conference) and will make the league more competitive and balanced overall. Plus, America will be finally be rid of inept owners like Dean Spanos. Everybody wins!
  4. I'm only speaking for myself, but it was fun to watch a 45 minute commercial-free episode of NFL Primetime yesterday and see all the highlights from Sunday's games. Call me old-fashioned, but I still believe there's a demand for in-depth highlights on television (or on-demand in this case). Yes, there's a lot of places to watch highlights online or on a smartphone these days. But if there's one thing I've noticed in the last few years is that nostalgia is a powerful selling point. An entire generation of fans grew up watching the original 'Primetime' and listening to Berman's shtick every Sunday. It's a low-risk gamble for ESPN to try and lure some of those fans back. If they would just cut back on their talking head programs and focus solely on live games and highlights, I'd probably watch a lot more ESPN than I used to.
  5. Chris Berman and Tom Jackson are returning to NFL Primetime on ESPN+ https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27608398/berman-tj-back-nfl-prime-espn+?platform=amp This is wonderful news if you remember growing up watching Berman and Jackson every Sunday night. No NFL highlights show has ever been as good since the original 'Primetime' ended in 2006. I don't care what anyone thinks, I miss Berman's corny nicknames and the iconic highlights music so I'm super happy. Come at me, bro.
  6. What is with ESPN's obsession of using yellow/lime on their MNF graphics? It's like they're trying really hard to be cool and hip, except they're about five years too late on that trend. I'm disappointed that ESPN is the only network that made changes to their NFL graphics this year. FOX has the most bland graphics of all four networks. CBS could use an update as well, as I think the current graphics are a downgrade from the previous design they had. NBC is #1 and it's not even close, though I do kinda miss the 2006-2013 scorebugs. But still, the current SNF graphics are about as close to perfect as you can get. I think FOX and CBS both need to move their scorebugs back to the top of the screen. By stacking the scorebug right on top of the scores/fantasy stats ticker, the screen looks too bottom heavy. They should just get rid of the ticker completely because it's not really necessary anymore. These days, everyone can just check on their fantasy teams or look at scores on their smartphones.
  7. I'm hoping that FOX will revamp their scorebug for the upcoming NFL season since they'll be hosting the Super Bowl, but I know it's wishful thinking. I miss their box scorebugs, especially the one from 2010-2011...
  8. So Josh McCown finally retired today and ESPN is hiring him as an NFL analyst. What is it with ESPN hiring every single former mediocre white QB on the market over the years? Sean Salisbury, Jesse Palmer, Danny Kannell, Tim Hasselbeck*, Trent Dilfer, Dan Orlovsky and now Josh McCown. Get ready Ryan Fitzpatrick, because in a few short years you'll be moving to Bristol! *What is the point of employing two Hasselbecks? One was a multiple time Pro Bowler and the other was a career third stringer. Is the "they're brothers and they're both bald!" shtick still supposed to be cute?
  9. Do people really watch all these shows on NFL Network? Like, I can understand having primetime shows like NFL Total Access that goes through all the news of the day and maybe a few specialty programs for fantasy news and behind the scenes stuff. But are people really waking up every morning and turning on "Good Morning Football"? I think they'd be better off just airing re-runs of NFL Films programs and classic games all day long.
  10. Is it just me or does anyone else miss the simplicity of the old ESPN scorebugs from the late 90's to mid 2000's?
  11. Is NBA TV using a new scorebug for the playoffs? It looks really nice/clean.
  12. I wonder what the odds are that we'll see Al Michaels calling his last NFL game in the 2022 Super Bowl (Los Angeles). You guys think he'll do another three years?
  13. Has anybody heard anything about this? I wonder if they'll do a slight tweak to the scorebug like they did in 2013 or if they'll do a revamp of the entire graphics package...
  14. Chris Berman was back on SportsCenter tonight doing NFL highlights during the 8pm hour! It was nice to see him back. Hopefully ESPN will let him do some occasional highlights for the rest of the season.
  15. I'm liking the new ticker. The ad space is a little distracting, but overall I think it's a nice look. I do wish that they would stack the team names vertically when showing each score. The old ESPNews ticker from 2008-2013 was the best of all time, IMO. Just get rid of the scrolling text portion below:
  16. NBC has hit a home run with their new SNF graphics, IMO. I think the new scorebug is by far the best out of all four networks currently.
  17. Super Bowl ratings are in... http://deadline.com/2018/02/super-bowl-ratings-eagles-patriots-this-is-us-nbc-1202278181/ 103.4 million people tuned in last night, down from 111 million last year and the lowest rated Super Bowl since 2009 (Steelers-Cardinals).
  18. I love it. I wish that FOX would bring back a version of this to put at the top of the screen just like their 2001-2009 scorebug.
  19. Looks like Thursday Night Football is moving to FOX next season...
  20. "You are watching the NFL Network, your home for creepy analysts and convicted rapists since 2003!"
  21. I don't get it. What's the point of being able to flex marquee matchups into the Sunday night slot if they never do it? NBC has flexed ZERO games so far this season. At this point it's pointless for them to even have the rule where they can starting flexing in Week 5 because they will never ever change a game that early in the season. I am honestly shocked that they're not putting the Eagles and Rams in a primetime slot. I'd even settle for the Vikings at Panthers. But nobody, and I mean nobody, wants to watch a boring Ravens-Steelers game that will surely be a blowout. Even Ravens fans are bored of watching Joe Flacco.
  22. Not a fan. There was nothing wrong with the graphics they've been using the last couple of seasons. If they needed to update them, they should have at least used their NBA graphics as a template. This is just disappointing. I wish they would just go back to using the same graphics for every sport (except for MNF). Speaking of disappointment... I'm bummed that TNT did not update their NBA graphics/scorebug for this season. I was hoping they would at least add team logos into the scorebug to replace the team acronyms.
  23. I'm completely out of the loop here (I've never even heard of Barstool sports until recently). Who is this PFT guy? Is he parodying someone?
