  1. David Griffin is killing it lately.
  2. I haven't been this excited for an NBA Draft in seven years. Go Pelicans! Welcome to the Zion era!
  3. The Saints desperately need to switch back to a darker shade of gold like this.
  4. The Hawks had a perfectly good look in the mid-2000's. Just update these unis a bit and they'll be good to go.
  5. So Josh McCown finally retired today and ESPN is hiring him as an NFL analyst. What is it with ESPN hiring every single former mediocre white QB on the market over the years? Sean Salisbury, Jesse Palmer, Danny Kannell, Tim Hasselbeck*, Trent Dilfer, Dan Orlovsky and now Josh McCown. Get ready Ryan Fitzpatrick, because in a few short years you'll be moving to Bristol! *What is the point of employing two Hasselbecks? One was a multiple time Pro Bowler and the other was a career third stringer. Is the "they're brothers and they're both bald!" shtick still supposed to be cute?
  6. I think it has more to do with the draft picks now and also the fact that some of these guys could be packaged in a trade. I think Ball could be flipped along with the 4th pick for an All-Star caliber player if the right deal is offered on Thursday night. I'm most excited about Brandon Ingram's potential because he doesn't have to be the #1 guy in New Orleans. I trust that David Griffin isn't finished making moves just yet. I'm a bit biased as a Tar Heels fan, but I love Coby White and I'm really hoping the Pels wind up taking him either with the 4th pick or possibly trading down.
  7. Three first round picks including this year's 4th pick + Ball/Ingram/Hart???? I'll take it!
  8. It happened! It finally happened.... Jamaal "The Big Cat" Magloire, 2004 NBA All-Star and Raptors assistant coach, has finally won an NBA championship! Thank you Toronto for knocking off the champs. Also congrats to Marc Gasol and Jeremy Lin. I'm so happy that they finally got a ring!
  9. Congrats Blues fans! It was nice to see the Capitals win the Cup last year and I'm really happy that the Blues get to bring it back to St. Louis. Bruins fans be like...
  10. It certainly looks that way. I was positive that he was going to be ready to go for Game 4.
  11. How would an 18-game schedule even work? You would probably have to schedule at least two BYE weeks for every team, which means we'd be looking at a 20-week schedule, plus the playoffs, that runs through mid-to-late February? Does Goodell want to move up Week 1 to late August? That's just too much. I know that Goodell's job is to look for more revenue, but I just don't see the players ever agreeing to that. Not to mention the fact that nobody wants to watch the Bills or the Bucs play another two games a year, that's just torture.
  12. I think they'll end up somewhere in between, though I'm rooting for them do what the '04 Pistons did.
  13. He's got a cocky attitude for a guy whose real name is Aubrey. Gross.
  14. Yep, the one on the left is the winner. The only thing missing is an aqua facemask.
  15. I would take this in a heartbeat. I would love to see this logo on a helmet alongside the current helmet just for comparison's sake.
  16. The NBA should start scheduling National TV triple-headers on Sunday afternoons starting in late January and put more West coast teams in those time slots if they want people to be able to see LeBron, Steph, etc.. Since TNT's coverage is the best, let them have a Sunday night primetime game featuring the best matchup of the week. Let them be able to "flex" a game into primetime like the NFL does.
  17. Though I agree that those are definitely way better than their regular home uniforms, I prefer the Mardi Gras version... I miss those pinstripes! I'll never understand why they didn't keep the creole blue in the color scheme when they changed names. They had a good look going, all they needed was a new logo and name, the uniforms were perfect IMO.
  18. When I was a kid in the 90s, I used to look at all the NFL helmets and for some reason the Bills' was my favorite one. I just loved the red and blue colors and how it looked so good under the lights in primetime. Once I picked that helmet as my favorite, I've been (sometimes regrettably) a Bills fan ever since. Though I wasn't a huge basketball fan until the early 2000's, I loved the Charlotte Hornets logo and colors so much that I became a Hornets fan, although my allegiances are now split between New Orleans and Charlotte. The 2002-2008 New Orleans logo was my favorite.
  19. It was so refreshing to see the Bucks and Raptors wear their traditional road color and home whites last night.
  20. My favorite Thanksgiving uni matchup of the 2000s. Love the orange socks with the striping.
  21. Zion in the Big Easy! Can't wait! I'd imagine AD is probably going to be receiving a phone call from David Griffin real soon, trying to convince him to stay. New Orleans has a very bright future ahead. Depending on whether AD is traded or not, they're going to end up with one of the following combinations as their franchise stars next year: Zion/AD Zion/R.J. Barrett (via the Knicks) Zion/Jayson Tatum (via the Celtics) Zion/??? (maybe the 4th pick from the Lakers) Throw in a healthy Jrue Holiday whose still in his prime + KD potentially going East, and suddenly the whole power dynamic in the West has shifted dramatically. Edit: I forgot to add to add this: This is probably the best off the court move the Pels have made since they've been in New Orleans. People are severely underestimating just how much of a positive impact Griffin is going to have on this organization.
  22. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001030677/article/2013-firstround-qb-ej-manuel-retires-from-nfl Former Bills 2013 first round pick E.J. Manuel has officially retired from the NFL. I'm not sure which QB class is worse, 2007 or 2013.
  23. Even going back to the preseason, I don't think most people would have predicted Portland, Milwaukee and Toronto to get this far over teams like Houston, Boston and Philly. Just for fun I went back and looked at each team's 2009 rosters: https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MIL/2009.html https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/TOR/2009.html https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/GSW/2009.html https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/POR/2009.html The '09 Blazers led by Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge won more games than this current Blazers team, but they could never get over the first round hump. The Bucks and Raptors were mediocre at best when healthy, and the Don Nelson-led Warriors were fun to watch but they were also garbage. I'm really impressed with what Portland has done this past decade. They once had a young core of Aldridge, Roy and Oden that could have been a contender in the West had it not been for career-ending injuries for the latter two. But they smartly drafted Lillard over Austin Rivers in 2012, and then a few years later they draft McCollum and now they have a duo that can rival any in the league.
  24. Who is that obnoxious old Sixers fan who always sits court-side at every game wearing a white jersey and white hat?
