So I did so digging about the Black Watch design from Georgia Tech, and turns out this was a tradition during the 1985 for the defense to wear the all black helmet design in contrast to the offense. 

Not of fan of teams wearing BFBS but seeing it used to be a tradition it really doesn't bother me

That much white looked awful with a jersey that's only maroon and gold. The gold helmet not only matches far better, but also just looks better in general IMO. They've got a solid look, just need to pick the right combos.

Yeah I think the maroon helmet would work better with the jersey if their wore white pants that game to help balance the white

They expanded in 2011 right before they jumped to FBS

Apparently the Texas State equipment staff didn’t receive the new uniforms till two hours before kickoff 

I was in the press conference after the game and Jake Spavital said it was chaotic trying to get everything together 

I didn’t have a problem with the old set, but the new uniforms are more in line with A&M’s traditional look, especially with maroon helmets with the white facemask.

But I will miss the white helmets, my favorite combo was a tie between W/M/W and the all whites

Out of all the mascots that are used, Bearcats is the one mascot that no one knows what it is.

Though the Binturong is technically called a bearcat, I highly doubt the majority of the colleges and high schools use a image of a Binturong as their mascot especially in the early 1900s which is why most schools use a cat mascot like a bobcat or a mountain lion. One reason they use cats for a logo that a Bearcat a very old term used to call a Mountain Lion

New York Guardians switching up with the uniforms, instead of the Black/Gray/Gray away combo, New York is going Black/Gray/Black
