  1. Not sure what design you're referencing as "standard" vs. "fauxback" but Duke's has worn the same version of their white and their blue uniform for every game this year except the PK80. They ditched the black trim on both of those designs for this season.
  2. The thing is, the Lakers not wearing purple is a Lakers issue, not a Nike issue. Since introducing the purple set they've played 17 road games. They did wear purple on the road 4 times, so that leaves 13. Of those, 10 times they chose to wear something other than purple, but purple would have been feasible. The games they've played where purple wouldn't have made sense were at Philly and Oklahoma City (both wore blue), and at Charlotte (wore purple). Nike obviously worked with the league to set a staggered intro for each of the designs, but at this point to me it's on the teams if they're not wearing what fans think they're "supposed" to wear for a majority of their games. 19 teams have worn their Statement uniform more than their Icon since introducing them. So it's not like the Lakers are being told "don't wear purple."
  3. The white set has definitely been their third choice this year, and they haven't worn it at home at all. Since introducing the black set on-court, they've worn that one 18 times and the red design 12. Not sure about the breakdown of nationally televised TV games, but not other team has worn colored uniforms as frequently as Houston.
  4. They've worn red in less than half of their games. If anybody is "owning" red, it's the Bulls. They've worn red in a higher percentage and total number of games so far this season.
  5. I think for officials and official scorers, front numbers are an important aspect to retain. Is it doable without? Sure - but I think it would be a painful process and you'd see multiple errors in assigning fouls to the incorrect individual.
  6. 6 of 7 in gray for the Pistons. All of those were with blue socks and tights.
  7. For the first time all season, the traditional matchup of white at home and dark away was not the most common in the league. 19 games (41% of the week) saw home teams in dark and visitors in white. Only 16 games (35%) had the traditional matchup. The traditional matchup has now occurred in only 48% of all games this season. Other interesting observations over the past week: The Knicks became the last team to participate in a color v. color game, doing so for the first time on 1/5 at Miami (blue vs. red). The only other team to have only one color vs. color game is the Kings. The Bulls and Rockets have played the most color vs. color games (14 each). The Pelicans are the team most likely to wear contrasting lower body accessories - they've been mismatched in 50% of their games. Only 4 teams (Cavs, Nuggets, Warriors, Suns) have played 0 games with contrasting accessories. The Pistons have the longest current streak in one uniform - 5 straight in gray. They also have the longest streak of the season in one uniform - 10 straight in white. The most commonly worn uniform is the Timberwolves navy - appearing in 66% of their games.
  8. How many teams take the low hanging fruit, and "unwrap" the new uniforms in a social media post or video between the 24th and 26th? I can absolutely envision that approach.
  9. @Conrad. - do you know what the actual color of that Philly uniform is?
  10. I'm inclined to agree with this. To me it almost seems unfinished. Maybe with the shorts it will come together for me. But right now, other than the cream base I can't get too excited about this one.
  11. If rumors of production issues are true, that's probably why. Looking at that logo at the end, I wonder if the gradient is going to go from red to black on the shorts. So in total from yellow/orange to red to black
  12. Some interesting uni-centric stats from around the league through EOD Monday: The Hornets are 5-0 in home games wearing their white uniform, 4-8 in any other set The Jazz have played color vs. color all 7 times they've worn their yellow uniform The Jazz are also 0-8 in their navy uniform on the road The Bulls are combined 0-7 in their red and black uniforms on the road, their only road wins came while wearing white The Heat have not worn their Icon (regular black) uniform since 10/28, and have worn their Classic black set 14 times since then The Mavericks, Magic, and Trail Blazers are all winless in color v. color games The Rockets have the most color v. color wins (11) The Pistons have the most wins in a single uniform (13 - white) The 76ers blue uniform is the most frequently worn by percentage, appearing in 69% of their games The 76ers blue and Timberwolves navy uniforms are the most frequently worn by volume, appearing 20 times each.
  13. So what color are the 76ers uniform supposed to be? Off gray?
  14. Thanks - I was using flickr but I'll have to do an account with one of those two.
  15. For the life of me I can't figure out how to get an image to post on here, but Jeremy Lamb wore a black leg sleeve and tights last night, while the rest of the Hornets wore white. This is the first time that I have noticed anything like that with any team or individual this season.
  16. You probably won't have to. That's exactly the sentiment they're trying to create. No exact date yet for the Cleveland reveal, but merch started leaking yesterday with that design. Expect them to be released just in time for holiday shipping (next 4-5 days).
  17. Through end of day Sunday: Current longest streak for wearing the same uniform is at 6 games (Rockets - black, Timberwolves - navy) Kings and Knicks have not played any color v. color games Pistons, Timberwolves, 76ers have not debuted Statement uniform Knicks (69% of games) have worn Association uniform more frequently than any other team Timberwolves (74%) have worn Icon uniform more frequently than any other team Rockets (25%) have worn Statement uniform more frequently than any other team Heat (48%) have worn Classic uniform more frequently than any other team Rockets and Celtics have played the most color v. color games (9). 53% of games have been traditional (home team in white), 33% have been inverted (road team in white), and 14% have been color v. color
  18. Interesting. I hadn't seen that. The first time I saw the back of the uniform was on the Grizzlie's website, and that image had NOB above the numbers.
  19. This is even a change from when they were introduced. The Grizzlies had the NOB over the numbers when they released info about the uniforms on their website. Sometime between then and the first time they were worn on 11/26 the change was made.
  20. Some teams are scheduled to wear them around Christmas. I'd imagine they'll be released prior to that. The Hawks are planning on releasing their design during halftime of their game on 12/14 according to this article: Jeezy to Partner with Hawks
  21. Now that we're more than 25% of the way through the season, I have uploaded some of the graphs I've put together showing league-wide and team-specific uniform stats to a new flickr page. Feel free to check it out. I've tried uploading a few here but for some reason can't get the URL to upload.
  22. Agreed. There are several G-League teams that are pretty brutal as well. 905, Blue, Armor....
  23. To date, teams have worn mismatching lower body accessories (tights and/or socks) 33 of the 43 times (76.7%) they've worn the Statement uniforms. By contrast, they're only mismatching with the Association sets .4% (1/266) of the time - Spurs wore black accessories with white uniforms on 10/27. They've mismatched 2.3% (7/305) of the time with Icon and 15% (3/20) with Classic.
  24. No problem - easy to do!
