  1. I like it. A nice simplification of the old logo, still recognizable, and I bet it will look great on cars as most of these recent auto badge updates have.
  2. They've played in Anaheim since Angel Stadium opened in 1966. By the end of the decade they had been in Anaheim for just as long as LA proper and by now they've played in Orange County for ten times longer than they ever did in Los Angeles.
  3. It's a petty thing, but it annoys me to no end when a team is forced to alter their design because of a template change. It happened to plenty of NFL teams (including my favorite team, the Panthers), and now it's affecting baseball (including my favorite team, the Orioles). Unacceptable for Nike to not be able to accommodate even some the most basic of design elements, uneven stripe widths and sleeve piping off the cuff. This new template is an embarrassment.
  4. The Panthers may not have played great but they looked great. I'd love to see this look with a blue helmet.
  5. The new Axalta and Raptor schemes reek of OSS trickery. The only redeeming Hendrick primary so far has been the 48. Long gone are the days of iconic schemes on Hendrick cars. It's just sad.
  6. Alright let's get started on new paint schemes for this year: RFK Racing RFK Racing announced Stage 60, a new open car, similar to Trackhouse's Project 91 or 23XI's 67 car. The first race of the new team will be at the Daytona 500, driven by David Ragan, sponsored by Build Submarines. The primary Fastenal 17 car and the Fastenal Body Guard 6 car have been revealed as well. Body Guard will sponsor the 6 at the spring Martinsville race and Indianapolis. Hendrick Motorsports The 9 car has a new NAPA scheme this year. The Liberty University 24 car is mostly the same as last year. The Ally 48 got a new look, designed by Sean Bull, known for designing F1 liveries such as for Red Bull and Alpine. Surprising no one, Kyle Larson's Hendrick Cars 5 car will look essentially the same. For the Coca-Cola 600, he'll run a special livery with McLaren's papaya as he teams up with the McLaren Arrow IndyCar team to run what's been dubbed the "Hendrick 1100". He'll be attempting both the Indy 500 and the Coke 600, a feat completed only by Tony Stewart in 2001. Trackhouse Moose Fraternity will be back on Ross Chastain's 1 car. The team gains Anheuser-Busch from Stewart-Haas Racing, but loses Advent Health as they no longer had the inventory to offer. Legacy Motor Club As Legacy MC makes the move to Toyota for 2024, they also gain Advent Health, with our first look coming at the tests being run at Phoenix on the 6th. These are all the schemes that have been revealed so far to my knowledge. I'm looking forward to new schemes on the new bodies.
  7. The one thing that most folks miss about color v color for USC-UCLA is that both teams used to share LA Memorial Coliseum - that's why they both wore their home uniforms, because it was a home game for both teams. It doesn't hold the same weight when that history isn't behind it.
  8. I think it's a shame to not see that fantastic logo on the side of the helmets. Set looks amazing otherwise.
  9. As long as the buckets match the pants, colored helmets on the road is an excellent look. I hope every team makes the shift.
  10. It's funny you say this because it actually does the opposite for me. I recognize I'm probably in the minority on this, but I feel no particular identification with the region of "Carolina". I do feel slightly more strongly for the state of North Carolina, but I feel very strongly for the city of Charlotte. I know I'm not really the target demo, but home markets do draw me in, especially if Charlotte has a team. I don't care for the "legacy" of the Chaos LC brand, I'd rather have a Charlotte-specific team. The NLL has the PLL beat on this one, at least, to me.
  11. By default the Chaos will be my team, but I feel no connection to the name or branding package. It needs some blue to feel like a real Charlotte team. I would've rather had the Hounds brand back, but I understand why they kept most of the old cityless names. The Carolina + scorpion tail logo feels squished horizontally. Not a fan of using Maryland over Baltimore, either. Philly, Cali, and Utah are excellent though, no complaints there.
  12. You look me in the eyes and tell me that this jersey was good. It's only saved from the absolute bottom because of Miami's serial killer set.
  13. The Japan design is unique and I think would fit an up-and-coming hockey nation like Japan. That said, the yatagarasu is a crow that specifically has three legs - you've removed one to add the hockey stick. I don't mind the hockey stick but the crow needs three legs to be a yatagarasu and therefore relevant to the content. Enjoying the rest, can't wait to see you finish!
  14. Every single 24 scheme would be dramatically improved if they would go back to using the proper gold numbers on every car. Keeping the number color that iconic gold would help the car look a lot more like the iconic cars Jeff Gordon ran that made the number famous. The Pods scheme isn't too bad but the Z and Relay schemes are embarrassing.
  15. Where are you getting that? As far as I remember, the 17-18 jerseys just had the criss-crossing gradient stripes, meant to emulate a hornet's wings, the 18-19 jerseys were the "City of Flight" set, and the 19-20 jerseys were the awful gray set with a honeycomb pattern down the side. No Charlotte Coliseum references as far as I'm aware.
  16. Took me a second to get it, but it's solid. Sets itself apart a little better than the old.
  17. This is the only one I dislike but that has more to do with my distaste for the Avs using black gear than not liking colored helmets. Slate blue would look pretty good, in my opinion.
  18. The Canes' red helmet on the road looks great. It's excellent color blocking, pairing very nicely with the red shorts. I hope more teams start wearing colored helmets on the road. More color is a good thing!
  19. Count me among those that wants creamsicles full-time for the Bucs. Vibrant colors, gorgeous shades, much better than the dull red and gray mess they've worn since. The cannonball looks (both Super Bowl sets) suffer from major dullness syndrome. The pewter pants are dull, the pewter helmets are dull, the dark red is dull, the black socks are dull. Vibrancy is in - capitalize on that.
  20. So glad to see you back! I've loved watching your progress and I can't wait to see you finish this series out. NAFA: I love the bones of the new logo, but the white-to-gray gradient isn't doing it for me. I think it looks a lot bolder without the gradient. LA: Oh, this is beautiful. I love the gradient here, especially its use as a shortened block gradient on the helmet an white pants. My only minor complaint is that the orange and teal clash a little but it's really not that big of a deal. SA: Hmm. I think I agree with you where the logos are great but the uniforms and color scheme isn't quite right for me. The white jersey's yoke is super dark with the green and black. Maybe getting rid of black is the way to go? I like the new secondary logo but I'm not huge on including the year and I think the star isn't quite centered in its little pocket. MIN: The cream is a really warm shade here and I'm not quite feeling it on the green jersey - maybe make the numbers white to emulate the white jersey? Other than that it's a great set. I love the sublimated plaid. PHI: Very classic feel here and I love it. Nothing much to say here, a great look. WPG: Huuuuuuge fan of the powder blue here. It's such a unique shade and it's used really well here. QUE: The Lumieres remain my favorite set of yours. The aurora stripe is sick and I agree, I love how the secondary color changes depending on the angle of the jersey. 11/10, no notes. JAX: I like the purple and lavender, but the gray isn't working for me. It kinda dulls down the set and I think it would look better if it was a pure white anyway. Still really nice-looking, the double purple is great. Keep it up! I can't wait to see the league at the end of this project.
  21. Not sure if this is a truly unpopular opinion, but I don't like any option of red, Irish Rainbow, purple, blue, whatever. Green and cream for the Bucks. That's it.
  22. I love the Cardinals-style Orioles! Such a classic baseball design that translates pretty spectacularly to the O's. I think the birds get a little lost on the orange set (the real-life Cardinals put a stroke around all that on their red jersey, maybe something like that is justified here?) and as a matter of speculation - the STL Cards place a lot of emphasis on their STL monogram. Maybe this hypothetical Orioles franchise, instead of an O's mark, uses a B cap logo instead? (I'm really only saying this because I, as an O's fan, hate the O's logo and wish they'd replace it with the script B.) Funnily enough, the number font, which I remember not particularly liking from your MLB redesigns, works really well here. Must be something about the style of the script. Nice work!
  23. What's funny is they probably wanted 7, but it belonged to Robby Gordon at the time, who was sponsored by Jim Bean. There was no way to acquire then, given it was sponsored by a Jack Daniels competitor. I do agree that they should've gone for 70 or 77, as while 77 was being run (part-time at this point I think) by Penske, 70 was open.
