  1. Somewhat related: Diamondbacks in Active Talks on New Phoenix-Area Stadium (frontofficesports.com) Basically the two options are: significant renovations to Chase Field or a new location in the Phoenix metro area. If Chase Field renovations do not happen, it will be interesting to see which of the metro cities wants them.
  2. I think we are getting some sort of resolution with the A's over the next two months. Next month, the A's exclusivity on the Howard Terminal project ends and in June, the Nevada Legislative Session brakes until 2025 and the A's are trying to get funding for a new ballpark in Las Vegas. Oakland A's form lobbying group ahead of possible Las Vegas move (ktnv.com) So that ends in June. We should know by then what happens with the A's. It may take longer with the Rays.
  3. Expansion is probably Nashville and Las Vegas if the A's stay (which seems unlikely). I think we will know next month because according to Casey Pratt, the exclusive negotiating period between the A's and the Howard Terminal port ends next month. If the A's move to Las Vegas, it's probably Nashville and the Carolinas (Raleigh or Charlotte).
  4. So the rule is not state law, but it's out of respect for the Mormon religion. Which is why the Jazz and Real Salt Lake play road games on Sundays and why the NFL would never work in Utah (among other reasons).
  5. Isn't there some sort of state law where no Utah teams play at home on Sundays?
  6. Lakers play Memphis now. That's not going to be easy.
  7. So if they and the Warriors win their round one series, do they meet each other in round two or in the Western Conference Finals? I heard someone say today that they could meet in round two.
  8. the Warriors QB is channeling his inner Jared Lorenzen (RIP).
  9. So the USFL's Maulers (who call themselves Pittsburgh) who's colors match those of the Steelers, decide to promote themselves in a city who's NFL team and fans of said team hates the Steelers with a passion by attending a baseball game in Cleveland, home of said Steelers rival, the Browns. How does that make any sense?
  10. there's also a former offensive lineman who weighed in at 315 pounds as a player, but he's tall at 6-6. and lost a lot of weight when he embarked on his new career. His name is Brennan Williams but you might know him best as WWE Superstar ma.çé of Maximum Male Models.
  11. This is former NFL Offensive Lineman Russell Okung:
  12. Yep. People on Twitter though will accuse the NBA of being rigged or scripted if it's a Warriors vs. Lakers Western Conference Finals, just like how they accused the NFL of being rigged after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.
  13. So what type of offense does new Ravens OC Todd Monken run?
  14. not surprised it's Rudy "I touched Mics when the world shut down" Gobert. He doesn't seem to the brightest tool in the shed.
  15. I wonder what people will say about the NBA if the Western Conference Finals is going to be Lakers vs. Warriors?
  16. Meanwhile, the other pro team that occupies the American Airlines Center, the Dallas Stars at least has a core of young players they can build upon when their older players leave, which is something the Mavs had before they made the Wood and Kyrie trades.
  17. LeBron will probably stay with the Lakers if they draft Bronny, which seems unlikely. The draft is in late June, and Free Agency doesn't start until July (unless the CBA changed all of that), so his next team will depend on who drafts Bronny.
  18. Zion's durability issues make me think he won't last as long as Steph and Giannis will. Giannis has his ring and could get another one (maybe more) so he's never leaving. The one player I can see staying for his entire career (especially if he gets his ring this year) is Jayson Tatum.
  19. Luka has learned nothing at all from the year he was teammates with Dirk Nowitzki, who never wanted to leave the Mavs nor did he ever plan to (although the late Kobe Bryant said he tried to get Dirk to sign with the Lakers). Luka will not play for the Mavericks his entire career. Speaking of Dirk, he was a questionable acquisition for the Mavericks when they acquired his draft rights for the late Robert Traylor.....which blew up in Milwaukee's face. Luka's never getting a statue in front of the AAC as Dirk did. I don't think he'll demand a trade this offseason, but if things don't go the way he hopes next season, then he may want out in 2024.
  20. "After the game stay tuned for Whose Line is It Anyway?"
  21. Zion's never played a full season hasn't he?
  22. Exactly. He'll probably transition into being a QB Coach immediately upon retiring and work his way up. He's not the only backup in the league that is much better in the film room than he is on the field. That's the reason guys like Kyle Allen, CJ Beathard, Nate Sudfeld, Nick Mullens, Brandon Allen, Brian Hoyer, Chase Daniel and Blaine Gabbert have all lasted as long as they did. It's also why Josh McCown lasted as long as he did in the NFL, which resulted in him now being the QB Coach for the Carolina Panthers (which is a much smarter move than if he had been the Texans Head Coach, as Jack Easterby had wanted him to be twice).
