Shoulda just brought back the Blue Helmets for the Throwback, instead of wasting their Alt Helmet spot on the pointless and stupid Black Helmet. spacer.png

It is kinda mind boggling to think about it that way. Like the Eagles added a throwback and ditched(?) the black helmets in favor of Kelly green, and most teams have gone throw back looks, save for Detroit, Cincinnati and Houston. Makes me wonder if they had plans of rthier Nights uniform before hand and the addition of the two helmets opened up adding a black one.

Boise State going orange/blue/orange for the LA Bowl, and IIRC, just the second time since orange helmets were introduced, this combo is being worn.

    EDIT:

didn't see this at the time but this is apparently the final game for the slash stripe uniforms, as there will be new uniforms for the 2024 season.

I doubt they would but this should be the default home look

Leak of the new Miami home jersey (child’s replica version):

This leak confirms a few things:

First and most significantly, the new MLS shirts will indeed be using the 2022 World Cup template still. I said it before on here, I personally am not surprised. Adidas will want their new template to be debuted on the Euro and Copa America kits, not the new MLS kits.

So does that mean the LAFC leak is legit? If they are using 2022 WC template for the MLS shirts.

Second, Adidas is using a more saturated shade of pink for this new Miami shirt. Will be the third different shade of pink that’s been used for them.

Third, this confirms how the Royal Caribbean logo will look on Miami’s shirts.

Well, so far I’m halfway correct. The Saints confirmed all-black AGAIN on Sunday against the Lions…

Now all we need is for the Lions to go “icy” all-white to complete my prediction (and yet another awful mono vs. mono matchup).

If the Lions truly want white pants then fine, however I think they gotta add the same stripe pattern that’s on the grey and blue pants. Same for the saints, even if it’s just a single black stripe more power to you

I'm slightly surprised that the NBA hasn't done at least a "Stadium Series" with a number of domed stadiums in NBA markets (ie-Superdome, AT&T Stadium, SoFi Stadium, etc.). You'd think if the NHL can fill a stadium the NBA should be able to in the right market.

San Antonio kind of did that last year with the Alamodome, but that was more so a historical remembrance thing, rather than a "stadium series". I'd be interested to see them do one outdoors in a nice weather area, similar to the NCCA Military tip-offs, but I'm sure that would cause it's own set of problems with humidity and such

Dog food... Surely St Louis can do do better. Can they not get Budweiser/Bud Light? Edward Jones?

While the league used to do that, I wonder if there's some sort of regulation due to the younger audience/promotion of adult items? It would probably be the same thing like in Europe where betting sponsors are taken off children's kits/international competitions.

Color on Color in Fayetteville, AR.

Mizzou in Black/Yellow/Black and Arkansas in all Cardinal

This makes me hope that Iowa-Iowa State can do Black/red matchups. Arkansas and Missouri did that one year and it’s possible.

It bugs me that Indiana won't own this element; their script is something unique from the other some shade of red-and-white schools in the Big Ten, and I actually think it perfectly fills a helmet (as long as they don't throw stripes on it). Pair it with a bit of candy stripe flair (see their baseball sleeve striping below) and I think you'd have something that actually feels differentiable from Nebraska, Rutgers, Wisconsin, etc. I just don't think their current approach of "what if we added black when we're a school that otherwise doesn't use it at all" works.

I'd also love to see them pull it through on a set of basketball jerseys other than the women's pink jerseys — though I think it's a poor fit on this Adidas template — as something different in the arsenal (or a unique element to their women's team):

Use a modified version of this, do the script helmet and call it a day. spacer.png

Stanford going with red helmets for the first time in school history.  Surprised they hadn't done it sooner.

There’s something about it I don’t like. Perhaps it’s the Stanford script instead of the S, but I’m not feeling these.

White facemasks would be great. But what they really need to do is shed the final remaining vestige of the previous era (if they haven't already). They wore this uniform last year and I have no idea if they're supposed to this year:

I don't think I would hate this as much if it were like their prior color rush with stripes on sleeves and pants ala Vandys "black and gold" uniform.

The Timbers have announced their new jersey advertiser, DaBella:

I’m mostly just glad it’s a local company, and the logo looks fine enough. It’s still a significant downgrade from Alaska Airlines IMO, and there were several other options that I would’ve preferred, but it’s fine. We’ve seen much worse across the league.

I would have preferred if the butterfly was to one side or the other, so it's a wordmark. The stacked ads don't look good unless it's multiple words.

Houston is also wearing the red helmets the following Sunday against Jacksonville (with the red jerseys).

That would be the final time they can wear it this season, which means they will not be wearing it for their Christmas Eve home game, which is an interesting choice.

So are alt. helmets given multiple desigantaions now? Before the Houston red was only with the red jersey, and the Bengals white was with the old white color rush (which was changed for the better). What's stopping the Saints or the Broncos from designating their alt helmets with some other uniform combo?
