  1. Next up in the expansion wave 2... is the greatest show on turf. ST LOUIS STALLIONS The Stallions made history by going from the worst in their introduction season to winning the Super Bowl against the Houston Oilers the very next year.... shrewed trades, good draft AND excellent coaching made St Louis into a super bowl winning city and heck there's no interfering Stan Kronke because he's fighting against the Davis family too much to not give a :censored:.
  2. And now Wave 2 begins. "ahem" In the late 90's after the NFL survived several recessional phases.... the time felt came for 4 more cities to get franchises which was something the teams agreed to.... the timeline was to be 1998 the announcement and 2001 the introduction but one event caused a delay in everything and that was a Midwestern town named Raccoon City was wiped off the map via a nuclear missile causing the entire world to pause and mourn the tragic loss of life.... around 100,000 or so. This paused the expansion plans for a whole year thus making 1999 the implementation but an event at the Colts was the biggest cause of the acceleration of the expansion... Jim Irsay bought the Baltimore Colts for dirt cheap and wanted to relocate to Indianapolis but the NFL said no saying that the Colts were staying in Baltimore... well that and the city voted for that bill. So to satisfy all the requirements, Irsay was given an expansion team and sent that to Indianapolis... the Colts and their history stayed in Baltimore. ANYWAY For the first time in the NFL since Los Angeles there was going to be a 2nd team in a city and the location was going to be in North Carolina in particular Raleigh ((RALEIGH!!!)) ..... please welcome. CAROLINA PANTHERS The Carolina Panthers had a late start because of the NFL's agreement with the AFL but that didn't deter them since this time they weren't a traditionally bound team although their original owner Jerry Richardson still went out the same way as he did.... bloody racist. These Panthers were Silver but as some Panthers fans know.... they have that BLUE and they don't properly USE It.
  3. This was inspired by the idea of what if the whalers were an nfl team and was taken as a joke post. But I might make them an actual expansion team if anyone interested?
  4. Aw crap he heard... RALEIGHHHHH!!! WE HAVE A FOOTBALL TEAM!!! CAROLINA HURRICANES WE HAVE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NFL, WE TAKE PART IN THE AFC NORTH AND WE ALWAYS CRUSH THE STEELERS, THE BROWNS, THE BENGALS AND THOSE :censored:ING BILLS!!! THEY DON'T STAND A CHANCE AGAINST OUR AGRESSIVE RED APPROACH!!! WATCH US GO ON A DEEP RUN TO WIN THE VINCE LOMBARDI!!! (The actual Carolina team is coming when it's done))
  5. Don’t mention Raleigh, a certain someone might overhear……..
  6. Wave 1 is over, the expansion that takes place in the early 90's which would of been where Carolina and Jacksonville came in yields in 4 teams that were leftovers from the old AFL. Wave 2 coming up will essentially be the late 90's where the Texans would of come in as well as the Browns relocation to Baltimore to become the Ravens which then would of opened up a expansion slot where the new Cleveland Browns team assumes the identity of the old team there and something I wish the Tennessee Titans would do to give the Oilers back to Houston but they are skinflints. So expect the following... CAROLINA JACKSONVILLE ST LOUIS and... INDIANAPOLIS
  7. The last team of Wave 1 and I've saved the team that essentially carried the old World Football League but here they were reduced to being ball carriers to the AFL's Miami Dolphins who were the dominant team at the time and essentially are 6 time Super Bowl champs because of the 5 year streak. This however did not deter them from trying to usurp and acquired 3 of their best players in a massive signing boost to try and clinch their own AFL championship.... and yet fell in the final hurdle against the Oakland Raiders.... TWICE. This team was owned by John Basset as he sold his controlling share to another owner before trying again with the Bandits and yeah that went smoothly... Well until this team tried to register their name to which it was denied so they had to change their name.... twice. Finally at the big unveiling of the new uniforms, everything went smoothly UNTIL the reveal of said uniforms where one simple mistake gave the team the most infamous sports botch in history for the.... MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES The dinguses in charge of the uniforms made a mistripe that literally gave them the reputation monkier of the Memphis Mistripes... originally their uniforms were straight up expys of the Browns and the Browns weren't happy at all forcing the uniforms to change and then the mistripe happened and they were like Oh. They play in the NFC South against the Chiefs, the Vulcans and the Bucs.
  8. Moving onto the 35th team of the NFL... an expansion deep in the heart of Texas although they had a harder time trying to win over those that aren't affliated with the Cowboys and the Oilers.... that team is. SAN ANTONIO WINGS The Wings are amongst a number of teams affected by San Antonio's push for the Alamo in terms of marketing since that city made it law to put it in... the Spurs are also affected as well, as for the wings they are placed in the AFC West alongside a whole colorful selection of rivals including their close rivals Denver.
  9. Do the So Cal Sun take advantage of the pink trend? Yes they were one of the first teams to do so when the color became new at the peak of the 2000's... they were previously a white helmet team with purple and orange and felt that they were missing a signature theme and so they decided to take advantage of hot pink. Rival fans often call them the So Cal Barbies
  10. Colorful was the theme for this wave of expansions as now it's time I went down to California to finally address the most unique color scheme in all of football.... THE SO CAL SUN The Southern California Sun aka in shortened terms the So Cal Sun are a side that got screwed initially by to the shock of no one the Oakland Raiders whom didn't want their OTHER hated rival to join them and the Chargers in the NFL so for years they got shafted until the gentlemen's agreement was made and they were able to get in. From the city of Anaheim, the Sun have been incredibly loyal for a number of decades even when they have stadium issues or when they had to deal with that cheap corrupt bastard Arte Moreno... the Sun are always loyal to Anaheim for they also have the most unique scheme in all of the NFL. With So Cal Magneta and So Cal Orange as their main colors whilst adopting Hot Pink as So Cal Pink as their tertiary color alongside So Cal Silver for a scheme that is unique in the NFC.... even the Vikings couldn't complain.
  11. EXPANSION TIME! And so we begin with a history lesson... back in the AFL there were 16 teams that existed and when the merger happened with the NFL, only 12 of those teams were able to join... the other 4 were left in the lurch and the NFL then had a gentlemen's agreement to add in the remaining 4 teams in an expansion to bring the league up to 36 teams with equal rates for all. Well that was the plan at least. However a lawsuit defeated the NFL's plan when said lawsuit made by Gary Davidson one of the original AFL founders argued successfully that the 12 AFL teams that wanted to merge with the NFL were wrong and that they needed to pay the financial costs that would of occured from such a merger. All the teams were affected and 2 of them went bankrupt as a result... thankfully this occured in 1992 where the NFL essentially gifted those sides that went bankrupt with free rebrands.... the first was the Vulcans and the second was this team: PORTLAND THUNDER The 1992 WLAF World Bowl winning Orlando Thunder relocated to Portland, took over affairs from there and whilst they did play in horrible lime green for a few years... eventually they adopted a forest green and used that from now on... they went with the wrap around helmet from the 2000's at the time with their fierce rivals the Seahawks. Portland is the only team in the league to have colored numbers in both home and road sets and they have royal blue pants as alt wear.
  12. Alright everybody before we get to wave 1 of the expansions, I want to say thanks for being with me as we got to 32. The teams coming up will be legacy WFL that never got in with the nfl/afl merger
  13. The last team for now because 32 is a brilliant number to cap off.... and so we head back to Florida to find a team that in need decided to do something quite different... hire a third party to design their next uniform, what they got was something unexpected and exciting. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS In 2020 Torch Creative made history by becoming the first third party designers to an NFL team... their idea was to re-create the Creamsicles but add touches to the previous uniform set so that is what they did.... found a new orange and red and redesigned Bucco Bruce to be more intimidating. ((I love the logo when it first dropped and I wanted to finally use it in a concept involving the Bucs, I didn't want to merge them with the Bandits again nor did I want to make the Pewters although a Pewter centric Bruce sounds interesting))
  14. Yes and in this timeline, they won 5 Super Bowls back to back with this look which is why they kept it and reverted back when given the option.
  15. With the merger of the NFL and the AFL into a new league.... 30 teams were formed BUT there was an agreement between the two to add two new expansion teams to turn it into a 32 team league and now that first team was announced. Team 31 goes to Seattle but it ain't to the storm.... oh no.... SEATTLE SEAHAWKS The Seahawks have been put into the AFC and have been in the AFC since their first season and they have been a colorful addition... the classic tale of Nikeification where a large logo on the helmet, the wrap around and the bright neon :censored:ing green has now been a staple of the northwest since the 2000's and it's not changing anytime soon.
  16. If anything the new Pac 12 would be a conference 4 grouping instead of a power 5 team.
  17. Since you asked very nicely, I shall oblige... but be warned, the next 2 teams are in here so you and pretty much anyone else is going to be spoiled. https://imgur.com/a/Fh44HF5
  18. And finally the 30th team and in this continunity there is only one dominant force out there.... according to Yinzers. PITTSBURGH STEELERS One of the all dominant NFL sides of all.... their 5 Super Bowls ties them with the Patriots, the 49ers and the Dolphins.. their legendary feuds with the Minnesota Vikings in the 70's rose the legend of the Steel Curtain.... apart from having a bus leading them to a title against Arizona, they have been trying for YEARS to get back on top. The only thing I did was to fix the numbers via Chicago as it was long overdue. And with that 30 teams have been made.... the next two are going to be the expansion teams for when the National League merged with the Athletic League.
  19. Well I would say things would proceed normally in Super Bowl terms.... and everything was fine and dandy until the :censored:ing Patriots traded a metric :censored:ton of picks to Cleveland for Bill and Brady. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS What is known today as the New England Tom Brady trade was at the time considered the most controversal trade of that time... Robert Kraft saw $$$$ in his eyes when Bill and Tom won 2 Super Bowls with the Cleveland Browns and at the time the pairing was fresh and new so Kraft sacked his coach and personally organised the trade that saw Bill and Tom take their talents and over the years transformed the New England Patriots into basically the same Navy and Silver bastards that won 5 Super Bowls. Now that Tom has retired for good and rode his white horse into the Sunset... the Patriots ditch the Navy and returned to the Blue and employ a Unitard look that works and yes they have Silver pants on the side.
  20. Moving on from safety... we has a team that never changes... from the land of cheese. GREEN BAY PACKERS Packers still remain as they have ever been except that they have 4 super bowls to their name... the Packers dominated the first two Super Bowls and as an aftermath of that dominance, the NFL and the AFL had a public spat which caused the Super Bowl to be suspended for roughly 10+ years until both leagues merged mooting the spat... the solution to come up for this was to acknowledge both NFL and AFL champion as that year's super bowl winner. 1970: New York Jets and Baltimore Colts 1971: Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Colts 1972: New York Jets and Baltimore Colts 1973: Miami Dolphins and Washington Commanders 1974: Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings 1975: Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers 1976: Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers 1977: Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings 1978: Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings 1979: New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers 1980: San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers Then everything proceeded as normal from 1981.
