  1. I mean I guess but the eye is so dam creepy and just looks more annoyed than intimidating
  2. So when I politely ask a question I get harassed? I’m not trying to start anything
  3. Which logo do you prefer? The classic 1976 logo or the more modern and updated logo from the 2000s-present?
  4. Why do people seem to love this old logo? To me it just is extremely ugly - The lime green and light blue do not go well at all - it doesn’t flow at all the end of it is just a block - The giant green eye staring is disturbing and looks so out of place with the rest of the minimal design - it’s expression looks more like mildly annoyed than angry or anything intimidating the current logo is so much better as it flows much better, the colors look better and it looks angry and ready to fight instead of a stare of disappointment
  5. Where does it fit? ITS 90 PERCENT OF OUR DAM LOGO. Is there any other team that doesn’t feature the primary part of their logo at all? Even then moving onto your point for one it’s been with the team since day one during their golden days (no pun intended) and they talked about returning to tradition. Tradition is described as customs passé don from generation to generation. Now why the hell wouldn’t they base it off their original look? And what do you mean by over complicated in the new set? Outside of the helmet it was used for trim like the classic one black is hardly a jaguar color. It was featured the least amount on our old jerseys. The issue is TC and Khan don’t want to embrace the jags unique colors. No one else in the league has teal and no one else besides the saints uses gold (don’t call Pittsburgh, GB and DC gold they’re not). Now we look like the Panther with our teal and black. Just look at this update and tell me it isn’t a million times better
  6. Dude that’s my point. The current set is not traditional what is tradtional for the Jags is unique and wild looks and yes they were quite different and unique for the time. During the time custom number fonts were a new thing especially rounded ones. The double trim was also unique and one I can’t really think of anyone specific did before. Same for their alternate which was an extension of their current logo. The only other one I can think of was the Bengals. On top of that the jerseys themselves had four colors on them. Most jerseys have only one to three colors at best (including white). These may seem tame now but back then they were pretty major I just don’t see why people are defending this bland look. The Reebok ones were trashed because of that. Literally no one here has criticized old school uniforms. I even see people praise the Seahawks old crappy uniforms with their creepy logo why it’s because they’re old school and being old school and simple means they can do no wrong. I’m just sick of this mentality of old school=perfect new=awful Ps being classic for the sake of classic and simplicity isn’t good either and if you consider the 2015 ones as overcorrected then what does that make these new ones?
  7. Btw by that logic the Jagaurs Jags patch is great because it’s based on military patch and JAG navy lawyers
  8. And? One did it very well but subtle the other one has a giant creepy green eye and looks mildly annoyed. What is good about it’s giant creepy green eye? You’re so biased to old school looks you won’t even admit whenever one is bad
  9. I know the origin and I don’t care it still looks like :censored: by your logic every film ever made based on a book or comic is perfect no matter how bad because it’s based on something good. I guess those crappy James Franco William Faulkner films are masterpieces because well the book is a masterpiece seriously how can you look that thing in its lime green eye and tell me that isn’t the worst thing ever made? He literally just looks mildly annoys don’t than aggressive. What is the appeal? Just admit you’re blinded by the rise tinited glasses
  10. How are those crazy they’re literally designed to look super old school?
  11. 1. No they weren’t. They were hideous. Why do people love the silver helmet of the Seahawks, a team that barely uses silver, but hate the silver helmet of the patriots, a team that barely uses silver? See this nolstagia bias is ridiculous why do you think old=perfect and new=bad? 2. It just looks better with the green patch on the navy than on white. Seriously could you drop this ridiculous crusade against Nike? It isn’t hurting anyone nor is it taking away form the designs. Nike isn’t even the first to do this someone posted a picture of when Wilson and Adadis produced the jerseys and they were even more blantant. Hell colleges put the brands on the form of the uniforms, sometime in the center (looking at you Louisville). You must really hate soccer jerseys 3. The pieces do go together. The piping in the side matches the sleeve caps. Again why do you want every nfl jersey to be bland and homogenous? Clearly the nil should just remove color and have every team wear white and black clearly that would satisfy you because colors are just superfluous. This is the nfl and we need to be as serious as possible
  12. But see that’s the problem. Anything unique is ‘gimmicky’ and pointless. Why can’t the titans have giant swords on their sleeves? What’s the difference between ‘unique’ and ‘gimmick’? What makes the 49ers uniforms look good to you? I don’t get it they’re just so plain. Imo you just come off as wanting every uniform set to be as plain and generic as possible. Outside of the niners helmets there is nothing special and their pants are hideous. They literally look like the color of an old person’s car and of course the ugly gray facemask. They could really use some gold trim on the numbers because they’re just so hard to see. The shade of red is inconsistent between the logo, pants and jerseys. And of course they have a wordmark on the chest which I HATE wordmarks. They just don’t fit in the modern age AT ALL. Another one is the cowboys with their sea foam green pants and mismatched blue. Looking back on older players like Troy Aikmen or Joe Motana they look better on the worse quality cameras compared to now in HD. Just because it’s old doesn’t make it good Name me one uniform set that is crazy, wild and unique but good in your eyes
  13. Those are bland but not bad. You can’t tlel me they’re worse than this thing
  14. Well why do you like seeing bland and plain T Shirt designs on grown men? Plain doesn’t mean serious. Why do I like ‘flashy’ jerseys? Because I like variety. I don’t want every team to look the same and if that means looking flashy so be it but if it means using the most basic model possible fine. The raiders are some of my favorite in the nfl despite having a single tiny black stripe. I don’t want every team to be flashy because it’ll get boring but I don’t want every team to be generic Madden 12 build a team. The issue is that with the jagaurs it not only looks generic but goes against everything the Jaguars franchise is. Imagine the colts deciding to make an ultramodern looking set it just makes no sense. The jags went from one extreme to another again why cant sports teams have fun with their uniforms? Why does everything have to look ultraserious no fun no nonsense? let’s look at the history of the jags uniforms So in 95 they had their inaugural season and these were their look for the first couple of years. Standard block numbers with gold and black trim on a teal jersey featuring a crawling Jaguar on the sleeve. The helmet was glossy black with the logo and the pants had three stripes of black-gold-teal Next they tried a few number fonts before getting it just right. This was the look that would remain with the jags for half their existence. The only major change was the number font was rounded rather than block. The only major change in this time is a black alternate, black pants and changing the teal numbers on white jerseys to black then we get the first major change. Reebok did away with the gold and gave the team a huge makeover. The numbers were more angular and now had these ‘whiskers’ trim on the sides. The most notable feature was the helmet which was a teal color shift helmet. Besides that they weren’t very plain and boring (sounds familiar) but considering the other Reebok designs it could’ve been worse after that Shad Khan bought the Jaguars and with that introduced a new identity. He unveiled a new fierce logo of the jaguar. The uniforms reintroduced gold trim along with an all gold alternate as well as the infamous half gold helmet see a pattern here? Every uniform has something unique about them. The jagaurs have always been a unique and these go against it. The jags first uniforms are a testiment that unique isn’t always bad
  15. What’s wrong with the script? Like why can’t sports be fun instead of being Uber serious, no fun or flair 24/7?
  16. And I’m sorry you prefer to have everything to look homogenous. You know plain and boring doesn’t mean serious right? Whats wrong with nicknames? First off the Dbacks DO have their name on a jersey and looks way better than cramming the whole word on their. The Cavs jerseys have Cavs in it (their old logo was literally just ‘Cavs’) yet no one seems to mind that
  17. - so if it’s noticeable it’s bad if it’s not it’s bad. So a lose-lose then? I agree they should’ve been removed but again this shows people will complain about anything - no they’re not I could easily tell them apart when I was watching the game. There is enough contrast to where it works. In fact I have to say white numbers on teal jerseys is HARDER to see without trim than with black number. Like basically every other sport has colored numbers but apparently football needs to be the special snowflake (and don’t say well not everything will look good on football well that doesn’t mean they’ll always look bad either) - because they’re both large solid teal blocks on the side. So because of the tiny gold and white trim it immediately breaks the pattern? Okay so if the sleeves had white and gold trim at the top and bottom it’d be perfect? - first off teams can’t hace nicknames? Next the word is done really well and bends nicely. What do you mean wrong location that’s where police and officer put their badges. I guess we agree to disagree because I love patches on jerseys. I just think they fill in some space while also keeping it clean and sleek. I like it over wordmarks which teams like the bills and niners have yet I don’t see you complaining about them
  18. “Bold: adjective 1. (of a person, action, or idea) showing an ability to *take risks*; confident and courageous.” not necessarily edgy but the very definition is standing out and TAKING RISK. WHAT ABOUT THIS IS A RISK? How do these stand out outside of how bland they are? Clean and crisp can be bold but in this case it’s bland
  19. 1. It’s literally the stereotypical patch. That’s where patches are suppose to go. Are you even for real? 2. No they’re not. I didn’t even notice them for the longest time 3. They could use some stripping but I still think it looks solid. I actually like the colored sleeves 4. No it doesn’t it makes it look even more clear 5. So because it’s not standard, traditional and boring you hate it? Seriously why do people hate monochromatic why does everything need to be color on white? Again if we had it your way every uniform would just be a color swap because who needs variety 6. I don’t get the problem again it just feels like you hate them because they’re not traditional and boring. Like again why does every team HAVE to have colored and white pants? Why does every team have to have white numbers? None of this stuff is bad justness not traditional and stereotypical and of course you dislike it for the sake of disliking it. Want to prove me wrong find me a ‘classic’ or retro design you hate and a ‘modern’ crazy design you love in ANY sport. Not just football but all the sports
  20. Alright you have some points but some things I want to address - The glossy texture is barely noticeable in game - what’s wrong with black numbers? They look really cool and contrast the teal great. Again god forbid we have something *different* even on alternate jerseys - admittedly I’d like a different design but the piping on the pants were fine and matched up with the sleeves - how is the jags patch ridiculous? It looks great and a nod to the army. If you criticize then you HAVE to criticize the Chiefs, Steelers and Jets for their patches
  21. Then what is the problem? Everyone trashes the Seahawks and even say they should go back to their terrible 80s uniforms with the worst logo in pro sports. Like people claim the green on the sleeves is there solely for the Nike logo but it’s based on Native American tribal totems. Then what is the issue? Meanwhile they blindly accept simple uniforms like the jags new ones, the niners and Bills ignoring all their problems please explain to me what is wrong with say the Jaguars old set. What is so awful about it and how you would fix it personally
  22. I don’t get why people seem to hate anything Nike does because it’s too ‘complicated’. I don’t get the hate. I love that kind of stuff and don’t understand what is wrong with them. Sure sometimes they look bad but sometimes it feels like people hate them simply because Nike. Like I don’t get the hate for the jags old set. Besides the helmet I really loved the set. The biggest criticism is that it is ‘too complicated’ but they never clarify it. I just think they looked really sleek. And now they are saying the same about the Titans new look Like why? Because god forbid we get a set that isn’t generic and stands out from the crowd. The sword on the sleeeves look awesome. Worst of all people will outright ignore problems of ‘classic’ sets because they’re classic and through fore means they’re perfect. Like the 49ers pants are a disgusting cream yellow and inconsistent striping but everyone treats them like they’re perfect. With the jags new uniforms people are outright praising them for being as generic as possible. I don’t get. They’ll always be a place for simplistity but why can’t we get fun and crazy uniforms too? Why does every uniform have to look the same? Id like some real criticisms to why the titans and jags old uniforms were bad and not ‘owe of course they’re bad just look at those sword and :censored:’ I want legitimate criticisms and it has to be consistent (example if you hate the jags patch for looking too cluttered you have to hate the Steelers patch too)
  23. Care to explain or are you just gonna spout nonsense? What is wrong about this look? The piping on the pants matches the sleeves, the numbers are great and the jags patch is sick. Outside of the reflective shoulders (which are honestly a non issue in most cases and I didn’t even notice for a while) they looked great and fit the identity of the jags franchise. Seriously why do people hate fun and unique uniforms? Sorry they’re not just generic pallet swaps
