Is this something? Is space + bull too much?

I really really like where this is going, and I'm always down to use the Dash color scheme for all Houston teams... I feel like the rocket wants to be below the moon and represent the eye in a rightward-facing profile, and the star you can ditch or move to be a nose ring or something. Craters miiight be a tad much but only because the logo is kinda top heavy on detail.

That helmet for Scotland is quite nice, especially since Edmonton has sadly ditched the idea, and the Stags name is great :)

I kinda wanna see the Jaguars spots without the gradient effect with the spots just everywhere within the teal; I feel like it'd almost be less busy that way. Paw logo fauxback looks great!

Love the subtle chainmail pattern for Minnesota, and the star behind the horns is a nice touch. Would probably prefer a lot more pink for legibility purposes but the aurora idea suits the Vikings well.

  2. I hope that the league takes yesterday's result as an opportunity to fix the Galaxy's star application. The last few years, they've been wearing four silver stars and one gold star, and just posted this six-star mockup mockup on Twitter.  I guess the wording of the latest rules is technically ambiguous enough to allow it ("only teams who have won their fifth MLS Cup will receive a gold star above their crest" rather than "a gold star represents five MLS Cup wins"), but it's a bit weird the way the Galaxy have been doing it and could be interpreted as 10 cups rather than 6. Personally, I think six silver stars (three on each side) would look best rather than trying to make one gold + one silver look symmetrical, and wait until 7 or 9 to use any golds.

Struggling for a name for a Munich team. Is Monks too minor league? Is Münchner Mönche ridiculous?  Is Bavarians too close to FC Bayern Munich?

At least in English, Friars and Bishops feel less minor-league to me. The former is a closer synonym to the Monk, but the latter apparently translates more smoothly and has a nice connection to the Bavaria checkerboard.

Loving the designs for the two London teams! I'd just say that the spacing of the raindrops on the R logo not lining up to meet any of the corners/edges of the R is kinda bothering me, but other than that everything there is great.

  4. Brands just announced for new Seattle-based USL W-League teams, the women's affiliates of Ballard FC and West Seattle Junction of USL League Two:

Intro_16x9.png?resize=1440,810West Seattle Rhodies FC Joins USL W League in Spring 2025 : r/NWSL

Both brands are excellently done. So excited to rep Salmon Bay! Plus the Rhodies logo totally outshines the Junction logo IMO.

Also, on the topic of new USL-W teams, I quite like the new Pittsburgh team's branding:

Glad to see Rosie survive in sports branding after the fall of the New York Riveters, and in an even better execution!

  5. On the men's side, Midlakes United, based in the Eastside suburb of Bellevue, WA, started last year with a logo that I really do not like. So here's my take!

    midlakes_display.png

My logo uses an M/L monogram that comes together to form a B. That way, the team could at least reference its Bellevue home, since the name does very little locate the team (I've never heard anyone talk about the Midlakes neighborhood.) Additionally, the arrow points eastward for the Eastside. Lastly, the blue shapes on either side abstractly resemble the shapes of the eponymous Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish, which were ostensibly referenced by the blue shapes on the old crest.

The home jersey is just a design based on the angular shape of the crest, while the away jersey references the (once-annual, pre-COVID) Strawberry Festival and the Blueberry Farms Park.

Also, the colours work really well together. I would never have picked a dark brown that looks a bit green, cream and yellow for a scheme, but it looks great here.

I guess if Ballard FC is going for the Houston Astros tequila sunrise look, then I went with the '80s Padres look for my concept haha

Fantastic work, as usual. I've been looking to design something with a cormorant for a while, and  you nailed it.

My only nitpick: generally, women's clubs aren't wearing light color shorts.

Thank you! Would still love to see your take though 👀 And yeah, total brainfart on my part wrt the shorts; thanks for the reminder:

You do some of the very best and most creative work on this forum! The salmon ladder stripes are genius!!!

Wow thank you so much! So nice to hear you like the salmon ladder stripes. That place is really special for me; I love walking over to see the fish there every summer : )

Great concept, the logo and wordmark are top notch. The uniforms are really good too and both are very creative, only thing I would change is dark olive green socks with yellow turnovers for the home, and navy shorts for the change.

Thank you for the kind feedback, as always! Here's an update with brown socks at home and navy shorts on the road:

My hyper-local team in USL League 2, the 2023 champion Ballard FC, has announced a women's team in the USL W-League, whose as-of-yet unknown brand will be announced later this month. Before they release their identity, here's what I came up with on my own:

    ballard_cormorants_display.png

Everything about this team's branding is themed after the Ballard Locks and its surrounding park.

The name references the flourishing cormorant rookery. Alongside depicting the titular bird, the crest also references the sculpture Salmon Waves by Paul Sorey in that same park.

The home jersey is feather-themed, and the away jersey depicts the Locks salmon ladder in its striping.

I have some ideas for other Pacific Northwest USL concepts, so I hope to be back on this thread in a little while!

  9. The joke aside, that bear claw / Delicate Arch logo is beautiful! I think that's the perfect solution to promoting the Grizzlies name (which would be my first choice for this team) in a way that successfully avoids stepping on the Bruins' branding's toes. Would love to see a non-joke uniform set. Orange and gray could work, though I'm curious about other color schemes. Keeping green and copper would look good, or Utah Jazz Red Rocks colors would also be quite nice.

I figured you meant the more modern BP tops with the wordmark logo treatment so I tried it out on both colorways. Also tried out the fauxback sox logo on the hat with the Fenway jersey.

Fauxback hat looks great; thanks for humoring me! I actually didn't mean modern BP tops, but they do look great! I was just suggesting trying out the fauxback and fauxback BP specifically to have a bigger "Boston" wordmark and smaller logo. Sorry to be confusing, but the results turned out nicely regardless : )

  11. Love that Statue of Liberty Pedestal shape for the New York logo, but I'm not wild about the use of what appears to be Arial for New York's name and numbers. (You could go with Gotham; it's somewhat similar and feels more New York-y.)

I like your logo for Montreal a lot (though it's kinda funny since "Torch" is the rumored name for Toronto, though it would fit better in Montreal...) I would just recommend moving the sleeve numbers to between the stripes, because right now the space between them feels empty on the away.

Also funny because "Royals" feels much more like a Montreal name, and the fleur-de-lys you put on the crown are a bit confusing here, but it is a really pretty design. I would suggest making the "Royals" text on the logo black and the T below it blue to more closely depict the Toronto flag.

Love the colors and logo for Boston, and the jersey font is really nice too! Ottawa's logo is also well-crafted with solid jersey designs. No changes needed : )

Not wild about the underarm design for Minnesota on the road; I think a thick purple stripe below the shoulder yoke (to make a ghosted sleeve length yoke) would help. You'd have to move the logo downward, but I think it's too high up anyways.

    Excellent work!

Minnesota looks fantastic!! Although I don’t think the white breezers works. The light blue you use on the numbers would probably work well for the breezers.

Glad you like it; I'm proud of it myself. I wanted white breezers to look kinda like snow, but blue works too (though I think I have to switch the striping around a bit):

  13. Last, my personal favorite design of the bunch, it's Minnesota:

    min.png

The logo is basically my take on what the North Stars should look like if that brand existed today, but in purple and with a Lake Superior-shaped aurora design underneath.

The jersey striping is also aurora-inspired and has an chevron element based on the new state flag.

That's the PWHL; let me know if you have any suggestions on these six or for expansions or something. Thanks for checking out!

  14. The double-outlined phantom yoke and red-heavy striping give this a hint of a modernized barberpole aesthetic that's fun. I also appreciate that the color hierarchy's a bit clearer than in some of the historical black-heavy Carolina uniforms.

During the era our CWHL team was Les Canadiennes de Montréal they were nicknamed the "Fabs" (like "Habs") and that has roughly stuck around as a nickname for the subsequent teams (the Force briefly and now Montréal PWHL).

Makes sense- everything looks great! Just was curious if that was intentional and why the adidas template since they're not involved and it's somewhat distinctive although you are right- the SP sweaters they're wearing are vaguely adidasesque.

Ah, I see! Well, that tradition makes me curious to see if I could come up with a potential official name that could be shortened to "Fab" somehow...

Love the logo for Montreal, I think the sublimation in the stripes makes the whole look a bit too busy.

Glad you like the logo. I did have a previous version without the pattern, and I'm happy with it or without it:

    mtl_old.png

I just generally prefer to include these kinds of patterns (like that gorgeous San José Sharks wavy striping pattern, or Vegas's floral pattern) to spice things up... But if you thought Montréal's was busy, I imagine you won't be a big fan of my take on the next team...
