  1. So true. I was thinking Boston... Old-timey styling suits them too and navy+silver+red would fit in over there, way more than in the Bay Area IMO. The little Golden Gate Bridge in there is kinda fun but not enough to save this lame name If they must keep this brand though, I do hope they go with a silver fog home jersey a la @mcrosby's 49ers alt concept.
  2. ^ I guess the folks organizing the World Cup are York United fans?
  3. Upcoming name announcement for the new team playing at the SJ Quakes stadium. Really seems like they're gonna go with "Bay" in the name... Unless it's a redirect, I guess, but it doesn't seem like they've even mentioned San Jose in any of their press so far.
  4. Absolutely gorgeous work here! Definitely love a city-wide running motif and the variations on flower logos are a nice touch to that end. I think the Rattlers' version is my favorite of those; probably the best individual logo of the series IMO. Love to see the return of the Rhinos; I especially like that vaguely shield-shaped logo for them. Would be curious to see that crest with "Rochester" replacing the "Raging" text. I do love the way the "Rhinos" R & "Raging" g combine in the cursive script wordmark though! And the jerseys are excellent; only suggestion would be green number at home instead of yellow. For the Knighthawks, the purple logo on the black jersey is a bit tough contrast-wise; I'd maybe have the wordmark on the black jersey instead. Of course, that full moon + hawk roundel logo is gorgeous and could probably the front crest everywhere IMO. Also, I would be curious to see the Knighthawks in their current colors and/or in black+purple without teal+white (not that you chose it, but purple + teal isn't my favorite combo.) Amerks look great too; the upright logo is a big improvement and the USA-ified flower is quite clever. I do think your Red Wings flower logo is a big improvement from your earlier version of the concept, and works well as the main sleeve patch. I like the inspiration but tI kinda think the execution of the wings on this new Golden Snitch logo on the white jersey are a bit oversimplified to fit in with the rest of the set. TBH I'd rather just see the "Red Wings" wordmark or the cap logo at home. Anyways, excellent work, per usual!
  5. San Diego broke out magenta shorts with their away white tonight: Though white/pink/white feels a touch Angel City-y to me, this certainly makes the boring look a lot better! Didn't even know they had them. Would love to see these shorts with their blue jersey too. Also, with the news that the Reign are on sale and will no longer be associated with Lyon, there's a perfect opportunity for the proper "Seattle Reign" name and rightful monarch crest to return! Total no-brainers for the new owners, whoever they may end up being, to restore that...
  6. I like DC's; another solid take on the cherry blossoms that DC teams have gotten around to. New England's shores ones is also quite nice. What is the idea behind Toronto's? Is that meant to be just ice?
  7. Here's the inaugural kits for Langley, BC-based Vancouver FC of the CPL: Not sure how good the contrast will be with a dark gray kit and a black kit with red hoops but I agree with the comments praising the V-only crest instead of the roundel.
  8. Turns out Gotham quietly ditched their sash away jersey in favor of the Generic FC white away jersey Carolina, SD, KC, and Washington are all also wearing: Feels like the league or Nike is using custom numbers as an excuse for boring jerseys...
  9. Here's the new home kit for my Reign: I like that the sleeves are both patterned this time, so there won't be the awkwardly mismatched sleeves like the last home kit. But I'm not wild about deciding to keep the white collar despite increasing the red further. (But I don't really want red, I want white or maybe gold instead!)
  10. I mean, it *is* a map of LA. Not that the halftone dots have any special connection to LA that I know of, and not that I like it nearly as much as the last one with the palm fronds. But it is nice! Here's a fuller picture:
  11. I hope that they'll go with yellow kits as they did in their inaugural season; that'd be unique enough. I think the odds of that are decent, since IIRC the league said they're going to loosen up their 2020 white kit/dark kit requirements to light kit/dark kit. (Hopefully Kansas City and Louisville will take that opportunity to go primarily teal and lavender!)
  12. The return of the Utah Royals for the 2024 season was announced today, alongside a new logo: The original, for comparison: Personally, I miss the Delicate Arch.
  13. Kinda surprised they let Cincy's goalie wear light royal blue when the rest of the team is in dark royal blue... And I understand why we're doing it but it's never pleasant to see my Sounders in a green/green/green combo.
  14. Glad to hear about the green shorts; also glad to see the full-color logo again. The league could use some green and IDK why Portland sorta ditched it. Totally with you on needing the full picture; I imagine those dark shorts will help with the top-heaviness that's bothering me so much here.
  15. A couple of leaks, plus an announcement of an upcoming rebrand for the Spirit:
  16. The adjusted peach shade looks so good for China. Might just be context, but the red also looks tweaked for the better. The Czechia set is beautiful; probably your best yet! Love all of those different patterns, especially that half-tone one on the away. My only complaint is that capitalizing the "o" feels a bit unnecessary.
  17. Gradient Australia looks great, cap and all, and the cap looks much better outline-less. Thanks for trying it out for me Well if not a calligraphic form, how about a simple serif font then? Weird to have serifs in English but sans serif in Mandarin lol
  18. Really like the red & peach combo for China. The calligraphic font looks good in this colorway; once again I'm just bummed the alt doesn't go with a similarly calligraphic styling. Australia looks good in both color schemes, though I do feel that my preference is with the traditional gold... Though now I'm curious about a lime-green-to-yellow gradient a la Devil Rays lol It's a nice cap logo they use but the outline really weighs it down, especially on the lime green version. Could have the streaks or the stars in a different color if you want more than just white. Yeah I mean I definitely didn't want you to go red INSTEAD of orange, just using it as a minor trim color that only appears in the flag. Definitely orange/white/powder blue as the primary colors are excellent and shouldn't be dropped. (I also feel like Houston teams should go with that scheme too!) Despite that your black and orange look is fine (though the first white outline on the script is kinda muddy; I think orange with just black outlines would be better.) I do like the crown as a patch a lot.
  19. Hmmm okay not sure how I feel about that but I guess that makes sense. Idk if having small trees like on the front as a hem stripe would work but I think that'd be better than nothing... The red pants look great for Colorado! Definitely helps to balance out the look IMO.
  20. Thank you! @eegl75 was just asking me to use an unchanged IRL logo, which has no white. Glad you like that white belly though; I thought it was nice. Here it is with a full helmet logo: Thanks! Glad you like it. Yeah, I get that... I do think the current logo isn't really trying to show the dragon's tail, but instead shows the dragon popping out of the water. I tried to make that more clear with the different colors. That said I agree that it's a bit stubby; and that's mostly to try to keep the symmetry of the S shape. A longer "tail" could make the logo really lopsided. I tried a bit with tapering the bottom to a point before, though, and I could give it another go. Glad the rest works. @8BW14EDIT: Trying to taper the waves to a point. Is this the right direction here for you? Or were you hoping for an actual tail and no waves? It's OPTI Althea, which is pretty close but not identical to the Dragons' current IRL font. I've definitely seen a few XFL concepts here before; notably to me this series by @edjb93 before the 2020 season collapse... And @WideRight's is off to a good start too! Thank you. Seems the comments are split down the middle when it comes to the logo changes, so IDK but hope the updates might appeal. I've got vague ideas for St Louis and possibly Vegas, but beyond that I'm not sure, so forgive me for not doing a full XFL series... Thank you everybody for your feedback!
  21. Idk much about Alabama, but as far the designs go it's a nice start so far. Certainly the state map looks good inside that rounded box in the league logo, but I think the rest could stand to be simplified. Just "ALSL" in a bolder font, no "THE" or full name or ball necessary. Alex City's away is definitely the best of the jerseys yet; reminds me of my Seattle Reign's old training top. Definitely helps that your Athletics have the best font choice by far so far; a good font always makes a big difference! The home is okay but I'd rather see the ad on a gray background rather than white, and the numbers are a bit too low contrast (even though I'm hesitant to wreck the nice double-gray color scheme.) Alabaster's logo is okay; it kinda gives a bit of 70s English crest vibes... Though I know I'd prefer it if the hexagon were oriented with one point upwards, rather than horizontally, with the A changed to match. Jerseys are solid, though maybe a third shade of brown would work instead of black. Beaches is the nicest logo, though at first I thought that outer white circle it's displayed in was part of the logo itself... and I think it should be, since it kinda fades into the blue base on the kit. The logo's yellow strokes also fade into the light blue; I think you could outline the boat in light blue and have the antenna in white. You could make the "SC" yellow. I'd also be inclined to ditch the "Alabama" part of the wordmark (or put it as a roundel text above the circle) since right now it feels a bit cramped. I think overall, though, all of your logos could stand to have thicker stroke weights, since right now everything is too thin to see very well. Anyways, despite my nitpicking, I think you're pretty close; a couple of minor changes could get you there! Good work!
  22. Quite like the basic idea behind the Queen Bees jersey design! I assume the pants stripes being kinda jagged is a template issue, but other than that the black pants look surprisingly good here! Not your fault, but that logo that they use is a real clunker... Wikipedia shows this gorgeous logo for the school; would be good to use that! Not about that old Blue Jackets font's numbers though. If you like the letters for that font you could try something like Brighton Two? No real issues for Spectrum though I'd be curious to see the wordmark-less logo as the crest and the wordmark large and across the front. Not really feeling Mt Doug; the yellow horns and the Adidas stripes and collar and cuffs are kinda competing for attention and the Pkols silhouette is a bit too subtle to make out. I might make the Adidas stripes tonal, enlarge the horns, and add a yellow pinstripe outline to the mountain. St Michaels and Oak Bay are really classy! St Michaels gives me "what the OKC Thunder actually looked good" vibes. And Oak Bay looks way better than the piping-covered jerseys I see on Google Images.
  23. Updated Fort Astoria is nice; I'll have to check out that column the next time I'm over there! I doubt it'd be an upgrade but I do kinda wonder how the back would look primarily yellow. Haven't watched the movie but that away is fun. Chehalem looks good, as they do IRL, and that home jersey is cool, though I'd maybe consider putting the Icarus logo up to one side like Adidas used to do? And I also think tonal blue herons might be nice instead of gold. Away jersey is solid. My goodness that Klamath Falls logo is really nice, and so is that home jersey! Definitely captures the beauty of Upper Klamath Lake IMO. The away is classy too, and it might be nice to do it in the tan color that the home's sleeves are. IDK why I find Hermiston kinda sillier in comparison to the other food teams but it's still pretty nice. Maybe it's just giving me bad flashbacks? Mt Hood's jerseys are gorgeous, especially that home jersey, which totally conveys skiing. Love it. The logo is quite nice too though I'd say the diamonds feel a touch lopsided. Also that video was really interesting; I supposed Seattle's Monorail isn't the only awkwardly-designed people-mover in Cascadia! (heads up, the link doesn't work properly though)
  24. Glad you like the jerseys. The main reason I went with the tealer shade of green was so that it could represent waves, but it definitely has some nice Mariners synergy, yeah! Sorry to hear the logo tweaks doesn't work for you, though... The current logo is really close to working for me but I wanted to try some changes. Here are the jerseys with the current logo (but in the changed shade of green, and with the changed flame) though: I'm not sure the current logo is very suited for the Rams/Vikings/Eagles-style helmet treatment, though, so this just reverts to a normal logo application. Thanks! And Houston definitely has the best logos in the league IMO; that gear alternate logo is gorgeous!
