  1. since this is a bit more at once than usual i’m not gonna go fully in depth with the descriptions. a lot of the design elements of these courts are pretty self explanatory if you already know what the jersey looks like. so for the hawks i put a gradient that’s seen on the jersey into the paint. and on the bottom of the court i added a stripe that resembles that of the jersey. same for the triple outline for the center court logo. for the pistons i actually made their court resemble a lot like that of the st. cecilia gym. with the dark wood and the old highschool/college style paint. then for the center court i actually had to search all over the pistons social media pages and website to find the logo. i finally had to settle with a physical picture of the logo from the uniform. but nonetheless i managed to turn it to a logo for this concept. for the magic i also used highschool/college lines for the paint. just because i feel like that design fits much better for the magic and gives room to combine the black and dark navy color way. and i’m sure you all notice the disney magic kingdom wood stain. i know it wasn’t their intent (i think?) but it felt like the jerseys and that slogan was referencing the magic kingdom castle so i just had to. also on the border is an “armor” pattern which the real court uses too but to me it looks more like a fence lol. so for the pacers i know they really wanted to reference their arena with that yellow stripe design. and so i incorporated it onto the court aswell. luckily their city edition logo was available for me to find so i used that at center court. and for an added touch i added a wood stain of the gainbridge field house at the bottom of the court for the trailblazers here this is super self explanatory lol. carpet pattern in the paint was the absolute go to move.
  2. haha thanks. the city jersey could really be anything honestly. i might just use this comment as a list for future ideas lol. -green or gold if i wanted to keep the same theme all throughout -black and gold as that has been pretty commonly requested by fans -red/dark green & gold to resemble new orleans streetcars -maybe a jersey with an array of colors inspired by art from around the city. or maybe mardi gras indians -light blue and gold to resemble new orleans street tiles. -or maybe going the hiphop route (its trending these days in the nba) and do something inspired by a music artist from the city. the possibilities are really endless thank you. i wish i could remember where i got the template from (i got it last year.) i can recall making some adjustments to them so this exact template isnt really found anywhere. the general template though i think looks a lot like the one here https://image.shutterstock.com/image-vector/vector-template-basketball-uniform-260nw-1026867988.jpg and it might have been the one i took and adjusted. thank you. and yea thats a pretty smart idea since i did think the logo had a bit more of green due to the semi circle. i think it could be since others are able to see it. could you maybe try clicking any links if you see any? if not heres the album link. https://postimg.cc/gallery/pyv1tHc if anyone else is having trouble seeing the pictures you can use it too
  3. Overview: Here is the second jersey redesign concept ive done. As we all know, mardi gras colors are an iconic color combination signature of New Orleans. There has been sort of a debate over the years about whether or not the team should rebrand to these colors. although i cant really pick a side, i feel like it was only right to at least make a concept. i of course am an amateur designer (i made all this on my phone) so please excuse the roughness. for this concept. I was inspired by the three identities that basketball in New Orleans has had. There's design elements from the New Orleans Jazz, Hornets, and of course Pelicans. And obviously, as a whole this concept was inspired by the city of New Orleans and Mardi Gras. i was also inspired by a lot of other concepts ive seen on the internet as i did some research. The Association and Icon Uniforms: For these jerseys i started off with a subtle fleur de lis pattern as the first layer of the jerseys. it's pretty subtle because i didnt want the jerseys to be overly busy so you might have to look closely. on top comes the biggest design element which are the multicolored pinstripes (callback to the new oreleans hornets days.) the pinstripes i made resemble mardi gras beads. and lastly goes the wordmark and numbers. I made the first and last letters a little taller to represent the bridges of new orleans (but honestly i just did it because it looked cool.) Also added a tricolor collar which has been a popular design choice for the pelicans over the years. For the shorts it's pretty simple it just matches the jerseys but i threw in this little secondary logo i sorta made (ill get to that later) The Statement Uniform: I was crossed between making a green or a gold jersey, but i really wanted a jersey to emphasize the unity of the mardi gras colors. so instead i opted for a midnight indigo color inspired by the 2022 city edition jerseys. to represent the nightlife of the city and provide fans with a much more slick and wearable color. and with this color it leaves room for design elements that feature all three colors of mardi gras together and not separated. as you can see i did that by usinga repeating mardi gras pattern on the collar, arm holes, waistband, and shorts trim. (which actually resembles mardi gras king cake now that i think about it) I used the popular NOLA wordmark from the 2021 city edition jerseys (they resemble a flock of birds formation if you couldn't tell) then i gave that wordmark and numbers a tri color outline. on the side of the jersey goes three different colored fleur de lis. and on the shorts is a big pelican silhouette logo. again, i really wanted to emphasize the unity of mardi gras colors on this jerseys since the other two jerseys dont really do that outside their collars and shorts trim. The Logos: All i really did was just recolor the current logos. I came up with the idea of two-toned wings because i wanted to keep a balance of green and gold. same idea goes for the two toned outlines that all the logos have (the pelicans came up with that not me.) for the main logo i adjusted the bottom letters to use the official pelicans font (and added some shadow for it to stick out.) unfortunately i couldnt do the same for the other logos that have letters due to spacing issues. also if you're wondering where that 6th logo is from it was from the 2014 new orleans all star game. i of course recolored it and cut off the big star part of the logo. The Main Court: I wanted to keep the core design of the current team that im sure we all recognize. So with that all i really did was just recolor the court. I made the base color of the court purple and the wordmarks yellow. i wanted to involve green so i added a green frame design (similar design to the new orleans jazz court) Used the fleur de lis logo at center court to really just embody the city since this is the main court. also a small touch i did was add some shadow to the baseline wordmarks to help them stick out a bit more. (fun fact ive posted this same design a bunch of times already all over the internet over the past several years so forgive me if you've seen this same design for the hundredth already lol.) The Statement Court: The pelicans have never had an alternate court before so i thought it would be cool to make one. Especially since the statement jersey i made is a whole different color from the main two. (i've also used this same concept for the 2022 city edition jerseys you can find that in my court concepts thread.) But anyways, i wanted to go a more traditional route with this court (ironically for an alternate court.) solid dark base color all throughout. solid yellow wordmarking. an just the main logo at center court with secondary logos in the arc. the special design element here is the tricolor paint area which like the statement jerseys, emphasizes the unity of the mardi gras colors. Conclusion: So yup i guess that's everything. I might make some edits after i post this but generally speaking i think i got everything i wanted covered. Also i have no idea how the colors translate to everone else's screens because viewing this from my laptop looks much different from my phone, so theres that lol. But yea let me know what you guys think, thank you everyone seeing this for your time.
  4. ha, wait until you hear this (yes this is real.)
  5. i don’t hate the idea of having like a rose artwork on a uniform i just think it was really dumb to put it on the bottom of the jersey for this exact reason here. and even if it was visible it would look really strange. they should have put the design on the bottom of the shorts instead
  6. 2023 city jerseys are here!… and well, i’m not gonna lie. the jerseys are a little on the weak side this year. i don’t know how much courts i can come up with… so far i have these two i had to start off with my pelicans of course. using the dark indigo/purple base color on the border. then did a tri color paint with the mardi gras colors. and at center court i have a logo i came up with to celebrate the anniversary season of the franchise while also blending in the matching colors of mardi gras. for the second team i have the spurs. i really like the confetti looking pattern that they’ve been using for their previous city courts. so i decided to use it for this concept with a pretty much all teal color court with the other accent colors for the 3pt line and half circles. also used their 50 anniversary logo at center court except i recolored it to match and here’s one for the wizards in case anyone hasn’t seen it. yes i already posted this but i want it to be grouped with this years city edition line i’m starting on
  7. some better looks here. overall this to me is a really meh collection of jerseys with a few exceptions
  8. might be a hot take but i think it’s time for the raptors to retire black and gold. it just doesnt really hit the same anymore and i’m starting to feel like it’s getting outdated.
  9. i really like the detailing on the clippers wordmark. i like the stained glass looking outline and the little thorns that make up the letters. i think this theme would have fit better on a red jersey. especially since they've been needing one and they already released a new black jersey.
  10. the magic’s new statement jersey for this season. the trim on the jersey is a solid black while on the shorts it’s a striped black and blue
  11. infamous jerseys debuted last night. they look ridiculous but i’d be lying if i said i didnt want to see them wear these more. they’re just so funny to look at.
  12. well that’s a shame. i don’t see why they should waste their time reassembling a court just to make it look slightly different (a slight difference that does go a long way though.) it’s a really nice looking design. i love the contrasting. i love the pinstripes that are obviously a part of their brand. always felt like the standard magic court was missing something.
  13. i wish the jazz could just wear the ugly jerseys with their chest instead of trying to cover up with the purple like they did in their season opener. you made those ugly jerseys, wear them. i know ive said this a dozen times already but at this point i feel like the purple throwbacks have lost their value now. as if desperately bringing them back just 2 years later and marketing it as "purple is back!!" didn't already do that. they can wear purple all they want but their core identity will always be black and yellow. might aswell own up to it until the next rebrand.
  14. i hate to be that guy but it really does irk me how throwback courts often now have the two horizontal lines in the paint removed. i dont understand why they do this. makes it look inaccurate to the originals. as if moving around wordmarks and having to change arena logos wasnt enough. also noticed the nets court have a mismatching paint design. wonder if thats a mistake or if its actually like that.
  15. apologies if it’s already posted. i think these look standard for a warriors jersey, minus the giant flower of course. i dont know why but i feel like the flower is really...throwing me off? is it the shading style? the color? im not sure. first glances it takes like a second or two for my eyes to process that its a giant flower and not... giant wrinkles? i think maybe this artsy flower concept would have worked better for the trailblazers since red could blend in with black much better. the placement feels odd but then again i dont know where else you can place a giant flower
  16. im surprised that the magic never actually came out with an orange jersey. that whole line of orange themed jerseys just look like they were going for a halloween look instead of anything inspired by florida oranges or the tropics. also just wanna say that navy on black color scheme with the little bit of grey looks gross. it looks like when the pistons were stuck in their motor city/raiders jersey phase. could have easily just used a blue trim. maybe even purple/indigo. the wordmark is cool but way too small. and keeping the number font standard is just a lazy move. and the little pattern is neat up until you step an inch away and you cant even see it. -- the heat jerseys surprisingly look better now that the letters and numbers are on white and i guess they pop out more. -- as for the wolves... what are you doing. it looks like a modernized attempt of the white and rainbow jerseys from the nuggets. which i actually wouldnt have mind if this design went to them instead.
  17. it just feels so wrong to see a basketball uniform with nothing outside of text and numbers. (no im not counting little sponsor logos or a team logo slapped onto the shorts.) i just dont see a complete basketball uniform, i just see shorts and a tank top. i feel like every team's got something distinctive about their uniform set. whether its as prominent as the raptors chevrons or as subtle as just the celtics trim. every team'g got a little something and its a shame the cavs got nothing going for them. all they really have is a solid looking font that's not backed up with anything
  18. clippers: not gonna lie, i am impressed with their commitment to this one single wordmark. id probably complain about those jerseys if an old english rebrand wasn't all but confirmed already (that Los Angeles wordmark is part of their official logo set now according to Conrad on twitter.) though the white on the collar does sort of bother me and the little side design just looks sorta awkward. mavericks: cant say much. definitely nothing to complain about, probably their best statement jersey since luka got drafted. which doesnt say much but still. glad they didn't go no trim like other teams. blazers: ehhhhhh... its a no from me. its kinda funny how they made that whole video just for the jerseys to almost be another cavs/jazz jersey if it wasn't for the somewhat redeeming side design.
  19. really dumb logic to say “oh they’re on par with other jerseys in the league.” i mean yea, most basketball uniforms in the world are. just because there’s a text/logo in the front with a number doesn’t mean they’re automatically good. they’re bearable to the eyes sure. doesn’t take away how incredibly dumb their entire brand looks at the moment. the colors, the concept, the execution, everything. it’s a mess and it’s ugly as a whole.
  20. i’m honestly just not a fan of the knicks wearing dark colors like black and navy. i don’t know why, it just looks off to me. under the bright lights of MSG all i wanna see is blue, white, and *maybe* orange one day if they want. dark jerseys just don’t look right on their floor to me
  21. comical seeing the jazz on media day trying to hide their main jerseys. all you see are the purple throwbacks and a few shots of the black jerseys just cause the league probably told them to lol.
  22. pretty solid change by the nuggets actually. one nitpick though is i would have liked to see a yellow outline on the red mountain design on the shorts. kinda like the nuggets regular jerseys but just fill it in with red. triple the contrast
  23. i mean anything is an upgrade from the CHA jerseys. but are they really worth having an entire new court for? lol
  24. really neat jersey that isn't doing too much for a statement jersey. i wouldnt even mind if their whole set used this design. it's much more of a cohesive design than the last statement jersey which i thought looked really weird: one thing that's absolutely killing me about the new one though is that the trim on the shorts (black blue black) is different from the trim on the jerseys (solid black***)
