  1. I was under the impression they won't go away for any teams, just another group of teams will be added next year.
  2. The "Los Team Name" thing has been stupid for years now, and this is just as stupid. Using black to represent "colorful" street art is also dumb (cough Marlins black unis cough).......but the hat just takes it to another level of stupidity. I was going to say the same thing - why wouldn't you make it red - a Dodgers color, and something that would, you know......represent colorful spray paint instead of......black?
  3. I agree that these could've been used more in the identity. Yeah, I don't like the G flying logo. I agree with this mostly. --- I liked the idea of Spiders, but understand why they went this way - and also they could always do Spiders as their city connect or something. I don't hate them but also don't love them. The winged G thing is the worst part of it. Even though they're not similar, it reminds me of a 90s gatorade logo for some reason.
  4. Florida's capital is similar - Tallahassee (more famous because of FSU, though).....it's the capital because it was equidistant between Pensacola and St Augustine back in the early 1800s when there wasn't much of anything further south.
  5. This echoes my thoughts exactly. The G and the bridge on the hat are the worst elements of it all.
  6. It won't be seen after being tucked in, but there's literally a fog cloud down on the GIANTS script on the bottom. The colors aren't the problem. The "G" is. I think it's a no brainer to tie into the Golden Gate and fog - as you point out, that's what everyone knows about it. I just hate the "G" - I guess I get it.......Giants.....Golden Gate....but why not an SF or even "Frisco" - aren't these supposed to be city connect? Not bridge connect lol.
  7. Sounds about right - Manfred continues to slowly erode/destroy MLB. Yeah, Colorado got pushed in front of a bus with this ASG as far as design goes. 1% chance of it changing - Manfred has continually shown he doesn't really care what fans think and will do it anyway.
  8. Those jerseys are terrible regardless of whether they were meant for Atlanta or Colorado.
  9. Agreed on your points - most specifically about that neat triangle snake logo could've been the hat logo - the Marlins did a unique logo for their hat, so it's not like it hasn't been done. When I was out in SF years ago, I was in a gift shop type store, and they had this (with matching shorts) and I had to get it. I'm on board with something like that.
  10. Yeah, I realize that. But it looks odd regardless. They should just start over lol.
  11. I overall like what I see with the Kraken name/branding. It's a weird name, but Seattle seems like a weird place, so it fits. No matter what name they chose, people will complain if they lose, and love it if they win. My only complaint about the S logo is that I can't help but see a seahorse rather than thinking of Kraken despite the subtle tentacle:
  12. I really like how they incorporated the space needle into it. Boring and generic aside, it drives me nuts how the T lines up with the crest on the left, but the R sticks out past it on the right. Why would you not have it end on the same line? What else would they call the Heat, though? Manatees? Alligators? Retirees? lol
  13. I don't like it. The S doesn't fit with the other characters. Or the C - one of the two needs to change. I also feel it went too simple with the background shapes. They could've removed the yellow background and done yellow outlines of the shapes behind the SONIC text.
  14. Rumors are potentially next month. They are? I've liked what I've seen.
  15. It certainly looks like pink shorts. These may not look too bad after all. I still think the shade of pink is a tad too light, but the contrasting shorts will definitely help.
  16. Love the Marlins look. While I can live with the current red accent, the blue should at minimum be used for an alternate and not relegated to a ST/BP jersey. It's a complete waste of their most unique color (barring a switch from red to pink).
  17. I agree with both of you that it's disappointing how they relegated the most unique color to an accent. The Marlins did the same thing with their blue - easily their most unique color, and a unique shade of blue - yet they just use it as an accent on their otherwise black/white look.
  18. I can't zoom enough on the image in the link, but something looks different about it - almost looks like it has a navy outline.
  19. I find it funny that the Marlins one is the only one with the normal logo.
  20. So the Rockies - which came into the league the same year as the Marlins - just got their first player in the Hall, so now that's suddenly additional proof that Florida baseball was a mistake?
  21. Yeah, that's true too. But that also gives you the option to do a few smaller different items instead of one big one. I'm not really seeing what you're seeing. yikes, that sounds like a trainwreck for most logos.
  22. I know I'd buy more at the concession stand if the prices were cheaper. At Marlins park, the new food is all around $14 for the main food (not including a drink). They did introduce the "3o5" menu that has a few items like hot dogs and popcorn at lower prices, but they still have the other things at high prices. That said, it's all much better than your typical ballpark food after the Jeter revamp of the park.
  23. The inclusion of the MLS logo within each number seems unnecessary and ugly.
