  1. Yes, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they were merged into another public college in Chicago, probably Governers St or Northeastern Illinois, but maybe UIC or Northern Illinois.
  2. No one else in the league is remotely close to be considered a travel partner in men's basketball. The problem is Illinois-Chicago. Pairs UW-Milwaukee & UW-Green Bay (Only 2 WI schools and less than 2 hrs apart) Purdue-Fort Wayne & IUPUI (Only 2 IN Schools and ~2 hrs apart) Oakland & Detroit-Mercy (Only 2 MI schools and ~1/2 hr apart) Wright St & NKU (~1 hr apart) Youngtown St is ~1 hr from both RMU and Cleveland St, who are ~2 hrs from each other. The only schools that could be paired with UIC would be Loyola-Chicago from the MVC or Eastern Illinois (OVC)/Western Illinois (Summit). However, both EIU and WIU are both ~3 hrs from Chicago and would be the league's most distant travel partners. It might make more sense for the league to add RMU's conference-mate St Francis (~2 hrs away) and try and convince UIC to join another conference. I did all that and then and remembered about Chicago St, who should jump at any opportunity to leave the WAC. Their closest conference-mate (Not counting Kansas City who is joing The Summit League in the Fall) in the WAC is Tarleton St who is currently transitioning into DI and is over 16 hrs away. The WAC has become a playground for Grand Canyon and New Mexico St to beat up on teams that either just began DI Athletics (Cal Baptist, Dixie St, Tarleton St) or probably shouldn't have them (Chicago St and Seattle) as well as Utah Valley for some reason and UTPA which is over 2 hrs from any other D1 program. The Horizon should either add Chicago St instead of Robert Morris or add Chicago St, Robert Morris and St Francis (PA).
  3. Except the SWAC is also an HBCU conference...so this is more of a lateral move. Wonder if Bethune-Cookman's gonna follow suit soon? (after all, they're FAMU's in-state rivals and their nearest conference opponent will now be 340 miles away) Not the first time FAMU has left the MEAC, either. They spent the 84-85 & 85-86 seasons as an independent in all sports, and the 1986 football season, after a feud with the league over the venue for the Bethune-Cookman game. The football team left again and spent the '04 season as a 1-A independent, but returned to the MEAC the next year.
  4. Clear Boards in the St Paul Civic Center. The arena hosted the Minnesota Fighting Saints of the WHA and the MN Boys State Hockey Tourney. The seats were arranged in a circle, leaving those sitting near center ice a good distance from the rink. The solution; clear boards. They were replaced by regular boards when the Minnesota Moose of the IHL moved in. The arena was torn down to make way for the Xcel Energy Center.
  5. I think if you're going to put the Brewers in the AL you should swap them with the White Sox. The Brewers don't have any rivalries in the AL Central, but could play the Twins in the AL Midwest, who are their permanent interleague opponent.
  6. I have this same memory with Slamball (I think?). I'm pretty sure I only saw it one time, but it was imprinted into my mind.
  7. If I'm being honest, I think that it is a good design, but it seems like it may probably translate poorly to a uniform. I would recommend simplifying it a bit and maybe dropping one of the colors. I would recommend blue since you wanted to keep the blaze orange and green and tan are the "company" colors. It seems good up close, but it may get messy when viewing it from a distance or in game on a hockey player.
  8. IRL, the Senators changed their name after both moves, so there's no reason to think they wouldn't do so here. The Atlanta Crackers in various minor leagues from 1901-65 and I think the Senators would've adopted that name instead.
  9. With Liga MX suspending pro/rel for the next 5 yrs, the rumors of a possible merger with MLS are picking up steam. Below are 2 options. Option 1 MLS Division Atlanta United FC Chicago City FC (Chicago Fire rebrand) Dallas FC DC United Houston Dynamo Inter Miami CF LA Galaxy LAFC New England Revolution NYCFC New York Cosmos (New York Red Bulls rebrand) Philadelphia Union Portland Timbers San Jose Earthquakes Seattle Sounders FC Toronto FC Liga MX Division América Atlas Chivas Cruz Azul León Monterrey Morelia Necaxa Pechucha Puebla Querétaro Santos Laguna Tijuana Toluca UANL UNAM Option 2 Eastern Conference 1. Charlotte (Planned MLS Expansion Franchise) Atlanta United FC Chicago City FC (Chicago Fire rebrand) Columbus Crew SC DC United Detroit City FC (Promoted from NISA) FC Cincinnati Indy Eleven (Promoted from USL Championship) Inter Miami CF Louisville City FC (Promoted from USL Championship) Montreal Impact New England Revolution Nashville SC NYCFC New York Cosmos (New York Red Bulls rebrand) Orlando City SC Philadelphia Union Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (Promoted from USL Championship) Tampa Bay Rowdies (Promoted from USL Championship) Toronto FC Western Conference Austin FC (Planned MLS Expansion Franchise) Cavalry FC (Promoted from CPL) Colorado Rapids Dallas FC FC Edmonton (Promoted from CPL) Great Salt Lake FC (Real Salt Lake rebrand) Houston Dynamo Las Vegas Lights FC (Promoted from USL Championship) LA Galaxy LAFC Minnesota United FC Phoenix Rising FC (Promoted from USL Championship) Portland Timbers Sacramento Republic FC (Planned MLS Expansion Franchise) San Diego Loyal SC (Promoted from USL Championship) San Jose Earthquakes Seattle Sounders FC Sporting Kansas City St Louis FC (Planned MLS Expansion Franchise) Vancouver Whitecaps FC Mexican Division América Atlante (Promoted from Ascenso MX) Atlas Atlético San Luis Chivas Cruz Azul Juárez León Monterrey Morelia Necaxa Pechucha Puebla Querétaro Santos Laguna Tijuana Toluca UANL UNAM Veracruz (Refounded) In option 1 teams would play home and away in their division and either home or away against teams in the other division for 46 games. In option 2 teams would play home or away in their division and against half of the teams in each of the other divisions for 39 games. In both options their would be a league cup in addition to teams competing in their respective domestic cups. In option 1 the teams cut would join the USL Championship, except the 2 Candian clubs would join the CPL, and the 2 Mexican clubs would join Ascenso MX.
  10. Teams oversimplifying state borders has always been a pet peeve of mine. Especially since the sycamores already had a perfectly good outline to work with.
  11. I like the pewter with the red trim more than the one with orange, but the red set isn't unique like the orange and reminds me of the Falcons.
