  1. The Colts do not at all need a black-oriented alternate uniform, but if they had to have one, this set with black socks and accessories wouldn’t be a bad way to go. I think a blue helmet with white stripes and a black facemask would work a lot better than a black helmet, but the rest of the uniform could stay the same and actually feel like an extension of the Colts’ brand and not just a one-off mess.
  2. I’m not a huge fan of how it contrasts the jersey, but the holding shape for the Vistprint patch is modeled after the ‘Entering [Town Name]’ signs here in Massachusetts. It’s a really fun little detail, adds an extra layer of local flair. Plus, it’s really cool to see how Vistaprint designed their ad patch specifically so it’s in line with the Celtics’ brand, even when their actual logo looks completely different. I wish more companies would follow suit. I could tolerate ad patches a lot better if they were all designed like this.
  3. i also recall someone reposting that same concept to see who would catch on. the original was before my time so i didn't get the bit but i tried my darndest to be nice about the concept haha
  4. Jacksonville vs. New Orleans Tampa Bay vs. Atlanta Las Vegas vs. Chicago Cleveland vs. Indianapolis Washington vs. NY Giants Detroit vs. Baltimore Buffalo vs. New England Arizona vs. Seattle Pittsburgh vs. LA Rams LA Chargers vs. Kansas City Green Bay vs. Denver Miami vs. Philadelphia San Francisco vs. Minnesota
  5. Definitely up there, but at the very least it's got good color blocking and color balance below the neck, and all of the ugly motifs play off of each other somewhat well. I still don't like any of it, but it feels consistent within itself, if that makes any sense. Easily top 3 worst of all time, up there with the Rams' all bone and the Commanders' black set.
  6. Justin Herbert has still never had a record above .500. He is now 27-28 in his career. So sad to see his talent wasted on a team that constantly hangs him and the rest of the Chargers' talented offense out to dry. He's not quite the perfect QB and has the occasional dud game but he's easily one of the top 5 most talented quarterbacks in the league. I can only imagine how good he'd be on a team that doesn't force him to play from behind all the time.
  7. While it might take the rough linework too far in some places, this logo is easily one of my favorites of all time. The new logo sacrifices personality for an overly clean look that is simply inferior. Way too much silver, way too much detail, inconsistent stroke width, and a more cartoonish skull. Super sad that they ever changed it.
  8. Denver vs. Kansas City Baltimore vs. Tennessee Washington vs. Atlanta Minnesota vs. Chicago Seattle vs. Cincinnati San Francisco vs. Cleveland Carolina vs. Miami Indianapolis vs. Jacksonville New Orleans vs. Houston New England vs. Las Vegas Arizona vs. LA Rams Philadelphia vs. NY Jets Detroit vs. Tampa Bay NY Giants vs. Buffalo Dallas vs. LA Chargers
  9. As much I loathe the mismatched colors and the two different designs on the home and away, the Cowboys' uniforms are at worst a B- and are still the best in the NFC East, save for maybe the Eagles in the right combos. They look miles better than at least a dozen other teams. Most of my frustration with them lies in how that B- could easily be an A+ if they just made everything consistent across both uniforms.
  10. Awesome concepts so far! Especially fond of that Rangers sweater. Love this idea! Would love to try it out but I unfortunately don't have the time. If you're gonna try this again next year, I'd be glad to join in. Though perhaps Conceptember would have a better ring to it haha. I know the prompts are clearly hockey oriented, but it'd be super fun to try them out with other sports.
  11. Chicago vs. Washington Jacksonville vs. Buffalo New Orleans vs. New England Tennessee vs. Indianapolis Baltimore vs. Pittsburgh Carolina vs. Detroit Houston vs. Atlanta NY Giants vs. Miami Cincinnati vs. Arizona Philadelphia vs. LA Rams NY Jets vs. Denver Kansas City vs. Minnesota Dallas vs. San Francisco Green Bay vs. Las Vegas
  12. I personally wouldn't even go the navy and silver route when dark royal and bluish silver are right there. Solves the mismatch, stays unique, still feels classic Cowboys. It's effectively what they wore during the 70s, so it's still traditional too. Everything 'good' about the mismatched set would remain if they switched over, renders the mismatched set completely moot. It isn't hard. At the very least I could potentially live with a mismatched set if they used the same jersey design on the home and away, but they can't even do that. Absolutely insane to me why they've kept this going for so long. I guarantee not many people would notice if they made the switch. Wow, is it? I hadn't noticed! Such a shocking revelation!
  13. The only thing the article has refreshed is my disdain for the mismatched colors. You can argue it's part of their look all you want, you can give it historical context, you can say it's been around for 50 years. Doesn't make it any less ugly or any less inferior to a single shade of blue and a single shade of silver.
  14. Jakobi Meyers took 37 games and accrued over 1200 yards before he got his first touchdown in 2021.
  15. In a vacuum this is a great logo, save for perhaps the toothpaste swooshes at the bottom. The only problem with it is that it's a poor fit for any professional franchise, especially one like the Islanders. I think it's vastly overhated and isn't anywhere near the worst logo in sports.
  16. I said it already in the NFL thread but it's insane to me that a school in Atlanta would ever want to cosplay as the Saints
  17. Why on god's green earth would anyone in Atlanta want to cheer for a team cosplaying as the Saints? That's a befuddling set even by BFBS standards.
  18. I love this concept but can’t help but feel it’d look even better for the Patriots if you just swapped out all the white for silver. That’s kinda why I feel so deeply the Texans should go with a red primary, because their color scheme and shoulder stripes feel so similar to the Patriots, even if there’s differences in color balance and helmet color.
  19. Thumb-downing a concept without elaborating isn’t the most thoughtful form of criticism, but posting a separate comment solely to complain about it does nothing but make your ego seem incredibly fragile, especially given how you’ve responded to legitimate criticism of your concepts in this exact same thread. If people find your concepts unappealing, they have every right to say so. Since a thumbs down is insufficient, I have some critiques to share. With all due respect, many aspects of your work have bothered me for years now. It feels like every concept contains at least one of the following: -Ideas that sound cool on paper, but are executed haphazardly -An utter disregard for the concept of color balance -A design you’ve already posted before in another thread -Slapping a team from another sport into football -A worse version of a team’s already existing uniform -Blatant reuse of Madden create-a-team logos or use of other people’s concept logos without any credit given to the original artist -A nickname that is either poorly explained or doesn’t fit the location -Uniform designs that try and fail to mix classic number fonts and stripes with hypermodern elements -Poor attention to detail. Number fonts are basic, renderings of stripes are inconsistent and sloppy, and sleeve logos are never placed correctly (They should get split in half by the edge of the sleeve, as you show them now, it implies that there’s two logos on each shoulder cap) -Weirdly political and angry description, usually directed towards NFL owners and those who are offering legitimate criticism I think there’s a reason that it seems to be the same 4 or 5 users commenting in your threads, because everybody else has seen the same cookie-cutter thread from you five different times. I’m not trying to be the concept police or aiming to dunk on your work. I am simply voicing some constructive comments in the hope you can learn something from my doing so. You have legitimate talent and are plenty capable of producing new ideas that feel modern and are executed well (Such as your Chargers and Titans concepts), but it feels like each hit is drowned out by five or six misses. It’s a tad frustrating from a bystander’s perspective to see the same mistakes repeated over and over again across multiple threads. I’m gonna repeat advice that plenty of others have given you that I’ve watched you ignore for years. You need to slow down with these concepts, pay better attention to the details, learn how to properly utilize a color scheme, and listen to people who have concerns or critiques.
  20. Detroit vs. Green Bay - Detroit looked scary against the Falcons last week, and while Jordan Love is playing his heart out, I don’t think the Packers’ offense (even with players back from injury) is gonna be able to keep up with the Lions. Atlanta vs. Jacksonville - This could go either way. Both teams have immense talent on offense but have looked downright bad at times. Ultimately I’m picking the Falcons. A loss to the Texans says way more about a team than a loss to the Lions. LA Rams vs. Indianapolis - Indy got lucky against the Ravens between a rare Justin Tucker miss and a blatant missed PI call in overtime. I’m not super sold on the Rams yet either, but I think they’re the better team. Baltimore vs. Cleveland - Another game that could go really go either way. I don’t trust either offense, but both teams have their respective X factors: Lamar for the Ravens, the defense for the Browns. I’m rolling with the browns’ defense here, but I’m not very confident. Minnesota vs. Carolina - Minnesota is the better team by far, but there’s always the possibility their defense lets them down when it matters most. Expecting Kirk and JJ to continue dominating in a close win. Cincinnati vs. Tennessee - Cincinnati isn’t quite back, but the Titans look atrocious so far on offense, and the Bengals’ defense is playing hungry. Tampa Bay vs. New Orleans - I have confidence in neither team, especially if Derek Carr isn’t playing for the Saints, but I have a feeling New Orleans will pull this out somehow in a slugfest. Miami vs. Buffalo - Miami has one of the scariest offenses I've ever seen. Buffalo's defense couldn't stop Zach Wilson a few weeks ago. Denver vs. Chicago - First Tank Bowl of the year! At least the Broncos have some talent, so I'm expecting them to win. Neither of these teams are gonna win more than 6 games. Washington vs. Philadelphia - I expect Sam Howell to struggle again against Philly’s oppressive defense. Pittsburgh vs. Houston - Houston may shock me again, but the Pittsburgh defense is gonna make CJ Stroud's life hell. Las Vegas vs. LA Chargers - The Raiders look totally lost and Justin Herbert is absolutely dominating opponents. Fully expecting another 300+ yard game from him in a double-digit win for the Chargers. Arizona vs. San Francisco - The Niners look borderline unstoppable. The Cardinals have heart, a decent defense, and James Connor. That's about it. New England vs. Dallas - If the Cardinals can beat the Cowboys, most teams can. It's gonna come down to which defense can wreak the most havoc on the other's offense. After last week's dud from Dallas, I'm expecting the Pats’ defense to frazzle Dak and the Cowboys D to be just as spooked as they were against the Cardinals. Kansas City vs. NY Jets - The Jets look downright awful on offense, and the Chiefs offense has woken up. Gonna be another tough outing for Zach Wilson. Chiefs by at least 14. Seattle vs. NY Giants - The Giants look pretty bad, and Seattle is kicking into gear on both sides of the ball.
  21. Agreed 100%. Easily one of the most underrated looks in college football. Excellent use of unique colors and patterns that fit their brand perfectly. Only thing I'm not sold on is 'BEAVS' on the chest, and perhaps the number font could be taller. Swap those out and it'd be a top-tier look in college football.
  22. NY Giants vs. San Francisco - Should be an easy win for the Niners, who right now are my pick for best team in the league. Atlanta vs. Detroit - Not sure if I trust Atlanta's defense against the Lions' offense, but the Falcons could surprise me here. LA Chargers vs. Minnesota - Chargers look pretty bad so far, I expect Kirk and JJ to absolutely tear apart the Chargers' defense. New Orleans vs. Green Bay - Expecting a slugfest, could really go either way but my gut says the Packers pull it out. Houston vs. Jacksonville - Houston could go winless this year and I wouldn't be shocked. Denver vs. Miami - Miami might be the best team in the AFC. Tennessee vs. Cleveland - In a battle of horrible offenses, the elite Browns defense will make a difference. Buffalo vs. Washington - Could be a shootout. I don't fully trust the Commanders to be good yet. Indianapolis vs. Baltimore - Baltimore outmatches Indy in every area of play, so they could blow it, but I'll take my chances New England vs. NY Jets - The Pats have been pretty good in their two losses, but mistakes and miscues have held them back. I can't see the Jets doing much on offense against a Pats defense hungry for their first win. Carolina vs. Seattle - Seattle just looks like the better team, but could go either way. Chicago vs. Kansas City - Gonna be a blowout, Bears aren't nearly as ready as the hype made them out to be. Dallas vs. Arizona - Another blowout. Josh Dobbs doesn't stand a chance against that defense. Pittsburgh vs. Las Vegas - Pittsburgh's D carries them to another win in a primetime slugfest. Philadelphia vs. Tampa Bay - The Buccaneers keep things competitive but the Eagles' offense is just too good. LA Rams vs. Cincinnati - With Joe Burrow's injury status up in the air, I just can't see the Bengals rebounding just yet. Rams have been surprisingly good so far.
  23. Minnesota vs. Philadelphia Baltimore vs. Cincinnati Seattle vs. Detroit Indianapolis vs. Houston Chicago vs. Tampa Bay Kansas City vs. Jacksonville Green Bay vs. Atlanta Las Vegas vs. Buffalo LA Chargers vs. Tennessee San Francisco vs. LA Rams NY Giants vs. Arizona NY Jets vs. Dallas Washington vs. Denver Miami vs. New England New Orleans vs. Carolina Cleveland vs. Pittsburgh
  24. (Splitting this into two posts bc the page keeps reloading and clearing my progress) Philadelphia Cannoneers The Cannons become the Cannoneers, largely just because I think it sounds cooler. Their uniforms have been updated with a new white helmet, tweaked colors, and flat-color numbers more a more classic feel. I’m fiddling around with revamping their identity to feel more classic and more fitting of a Revolutionary War-inspired team (similar to the New England Revs) but that’s still in the sketch stage for now. Winnipeg Blizzards As a result of Philly switching to a white helmet, I’ve been worried they and Winnipeg look too similar at a distance. It might not be a big deal, but for the sake of considering all my options, I’ve tried out a few ideas for the Blizzards. Firstly, a simple switch to a royal blue helmet with a white facemask. Not a drastic change, but something about it doesn’t sit right with me. Perhaps I’ll change my mind, it’s just simply not my favorite idea. I also tried out something a bit more drastic: changing the Blizzards’ shade of blue from Royal to Powder. I absolutely adore this color scheme and really wish more teams would try it out. I think the powder blue helmet works better than the royal, but the contrast between powder and white might be a bit of an issue. I’ll continue to play around with the precise shade I use, but I’m leaning towards the powder blue out of these two options, assuming I ultimately decide to part with the current white helmet look. Québec Lumières Québec gets a tweaked uniform set, with their signature aurora stripe now being placed in the collar and sleeve cuffs. I like the idea of having the gradients arranged where the dominant secondary color of the jersey striping changes depending on the angle you see it at, if that makes sense. Jacksonville Stingrays Lastly, Jacksonville gets an updated color scheme, inspired my the PLL’s WaterDogs franchise: A dark indigo paired with a vibrant purple and a bluish-grey-off-white color. Their jersey striping has been moved from the sleeve caps to swooping down from the shoulders. Before I forget, I also made a more realistic mockup template for seeing how uniforms would look in action. I had mocked up most of the teams but unfortunately the file reverted to an old save and I lost a ton of progress(first and only time Affinity has ever done that to me). I haven’t gotten around to finishing the rest of the league’s uniforms on this template, nor most of these updates, but here’s Jacksonville as a sample. That’s all I have for now. Hopefully I won’t go 5 months without an update next time, as I’ll continue to keep this project in my periphery whenever I need a break from schoolwork. Until next time! Made in Affinity Designer. C&C appreciated.
  25. Oh boy, it has been far too long since the last update, my summer was especially busy between vacations and work and moving so I simply didn’t have all that much time to design anything in the logo department until the last few weeks. Still, I managed to stockpile a massive bunch of small tweaks over the summer. I mostly have uniform updates, some minor, some major, and a concepts that are still a work in progress. First off, I’ve updated the league logo and branding. The shield has been simplified down to just the Canadian and American flag motifs, along with an updated NAFA wordmark. Colors have been brightened a bit as well. I’m slowly fleshing out the visual identity of the league, and I’m experimenting with supplemental materials like championship logos, which aren’t quite there yet but are super fun to explore. I also tried out an All Star game uniform set, just for fun. Los Angeles Suns Los Angeles is getting an updated brand identity. The primary logo is still a work in progress as a unique sunburst mark is surprising difficult to make, but the identity will definitely revolve around a new, retro-inspired LA monogram. The updated wordmark consists of a script font to match the monogram and a rotationally symmetrical rounded inline typeface. The colorway has been brightened with richer shades throughout. The uniforms are updated accordingly, with bigger striping patterns and an inline number font to match the wordmark. San Antonio Wranglers I’ve used this uniform idea for at least two other Texas team concepts before, but whatever. San Antonio continues to be a team I’m at odds with, as I’m perfectly happy with their logos but their uniforms and color scheme never look quite right. This isn’t a look I’m entirely happy with, but it works for the time being. I included a new secondary logo that I am quite fond of, however. Minnesota Evergreens Minnesota gets the smallest change, with a darkened shade of green and wider striping on the helmet and pants.
