  1. Could just be my bias as a Pats fan but I’ve never cared for the Jets’ classic massive shoulder stripe look. Something about having that much white space on a home jersey feels wrong to me, but it looks fine on the away set. The logo that comes with that set is hot garbage, the shade of green is hopelessly drab, and the white helmet feels far more bland than a green one. I don’t think the Sack Change set is perfect, but it works a lot better as a uniform set in my book, even if the Jets weren’t as successful in it. I’m fine with moving to them full time so long as monochrome is avoided. The updated logo suite is absolutely perfect, the exact modernization of a classic logo that the Jets desperately need. Gets an A+ in that department.
  2. Still looks like the Lions' helmet to me, perhaps before the satin finish is applied. I think you're grasping at straws here, especially considering this light blue helmet helmet doesn't make a later appearance in the video, and the Lions' blue helmet does, but no other blue shell is shown.
  3. It’s titled as a behind-the-scenes look for the 2023 alternate helmets. The blue helmet you’re seeing looks to me like the Lions’ alternate Honolulu blue helmets that they wore last year.
  4. Falcons : I tried it, like how it looks, but feel like it should stay as a once-in-a-while option that takes a backseat to black and silver. Panthers: Tried this also, wasn't much of a fan. The logo (both the current and the concept I used) just doesn't really work well on a blue background with all the blue detailing, and I like the idea of the Panthers leaning more heavily on black than the blue. Seahawks: Tried a silver helmet too, just doesn't work as well in my book. Throws off the color balance of the rest of the set. Cardinals: It'd work, but it might be a bit too busy in the shoulder cap area compared to the simplicity of the rest of the set. I considered doing a lil sunray pattern instead of stripes, but I prefer the stripes.
  5. It has been far too long since I’ve added anything to this thread, so I thought I’d post a lil mini-dump of NFL concepts I’ve made recently. A few of these have already made appearances in NFL news threads, but they deserve to be added to the official thread just for kicks and giggles. Cardinals I tried to balance the modern elements of the current set with more consistent striping and the addition of a sandy grey color to replace their existing silver detailing. Gone are the mismatched home/away designs, stripeless pants, and sleeve wordmarks. Falcons Red helmets and black jerseys are my personal favorite look for the Falcons, as it gives them a burst of color to set them apart from the other black and metallic NFC South teams. Silver pants are thrown in just to be different; I’d be equally fine with white pants. An angled, aggressive stripe inspired by the logo and some angled block numbers make up the jersey. Panthers I’ve got two helmet options for Carolina, silver and black. Uniform is largely the same, save for a new number font and tweaked stripe applications across the set. Black helmets options are paired with electric blue pants for a more striking look, while silver helmet options retain the traditional pant selections. Logo concept used is by the great CJ Zilligen. @CJworks Rams The rams need to go back to a simpler, more traditional version of what they currently wear. I like the simple rounded shoulder stripes of the Steven Jackson-era 2000’s look, but vastly prefer the vibrant royal and yellow color scheme. Thin detailing has been added to the helmet horns and striping for a bit more pop. I kept the current wordmarks. Logo concept used is by the great Fraser Davidson. @Davidson Seahawks For the Seahawks, I like a handful of the hyper modern elements of the current set but feel it goes a bit over the top and places and is ruined by monochrome combos. My redesign tweaks the shades of green and blue to feel a bit more classy, but still undeniably bold. Jersey elements have been retooled to work better as a stripe, but retain their unique flair. I flirted with the idea of grey away jerseys, and still quite like the idea, but a white jersey is probably a more reasonable choice. That's all I have for now, I hope to come back to this again sooner rather than later. Made in Affinity Designer. C&C appreciated.
  6. Make one, (simple text or a personal logo can suffice) reduce the opacity down to about 5-10%, slap it on top of an image, export the image with watermark added on top. It's that simple.
  7. Not terribly surprised that it's more ownership and focus groups driving the bad ideas forward and not the guys who work for Nike. I'd imagine the people passionate enough about uniform design to make it onto Nike's design team probably have more traditional taste then we give them credit for. Sounds like a tough position to be in from the designers' perspective, forced to pump out bad ideas at the whims of rich higher-ups who don't know what good design looks like. Sounds miserable sometimes. I imagine they get ecstatic when a team that gets it (like the Chargers, for example) let them work their magic. I'd love to be on a uniform design team one day, but man would I not want to deal with that nonsense.
  8. Love this logo refresh for UNH. I was just at UNH for a rugby tournament last weekend, couldn’t help but notice how stilted the wildcat head logo was, with the mouth rendered at 3/4 view and the rest of the head at profile view. Very nice refresh, uniforms look excellent. I’m adoring this series so far, love seeing all the small schools—especially the ones from my home state—get some love. All the logo redesigns have been stellar. Makes me wanna give hockey concepts a try.
  9. I don't think it'd be wise to assume the girl intended to ruin his life. It could be she simply assumed he was involved considering his teammates raped her and she had already had sex with him. It’s absolutely a shortsighted assumption to make when such drastic consequences are on the line, but not in itself an unreasonable conclusion from her perspective. I'd personally like to give gang rape victims the benefit of the doubt and not assume her intentions were malicious. Does it suck that Araiza got unfairly roped into the accusations, and that could have ruined his career? Absolutely. It'd be equally sucky to not extend the same 'innocent until proven guilty' logic towards the intentions of a damn gang rape victim.
  10. For the record, Araiza (who was accused of being involved in a gang rape) is very likely innocent and was unfairly accused. If there were any proof that he was involved, I’d be the first to say he should rot in jail for the rest of his life and never see a football field ever again. That is not the case. Unfortunate that he got caught up in it, though not nearly as unfortunate as what happened to that poor girl. I hope she gets justice.
  11. Not a fan of the gradient helmet but the Vulcans logo is top-notch. Bears are a close second favorite.
  12. That Silverbacks helmet is badass, they get my vote. Cannons would be alright but their colors are identical to New Jersey's.
  13. Replacing both my votes with Columbus and Memphis
  14. As someone who's been making fictional teams well through his teens and entering his 20s, it's still super fun, but I'm not nearly delusional enough to think I could start an actual fully-fledged football league that could survive any longer than 4 days.
  15. Shared Texas and Tuscon get my vote, would hope to see Carolina down the line for the East division though.
  16. They're not as successful or beloved as they were in their prime, but they should not remotely be considered a failure. Putting out box office hit after box office hit set within the same universe for nearly a decade is a monumental achievement that has not yet been matched, and probably never will again. I'm by no means a big Marvel fan but the sheer amount of success they've had has completely changed the way moviegoers view superheroes and overarching franchises, and they've singlehandedly shifted the film landscape, even if it's probably for the worse. Some shows and movies absolutely failed, not at all a failure as a studio.
  17. Chicago gets my vote, though all five cities should get teams eventually.
  18. Hey, that Mariners nickname sounds familiar, can't quite put my finger on it... Clovers gets my vote. Love the Mariners logo but I can't help but feel it's not as good a fit for Boston. Plus, a green helmet would be more than welcome.
  19. Boston. I'm quite intrigued by the ideas you mentioned earlier.
  20. I remember that Snowbirds identity from an older thread, loved it then and love it now. Definitely the best of these options. Really hope to see a team in Boston in the future, I feel like Boston-specific football ideas are a rarity in fictional leagues like this. Gotta be biased towards my home city.
  21. I know it's gimmicky as hell, but I absolutely adore that set for the Patriots. Wish this matchup was Patriots in blue vs packers in white for color contrast reasons, would've been an absolute beauty, though what we got is nothing to sneeze at. Really hope the Patriots bring this set back as a throwback at some point. A perfect encapsulation of '90s uniform trends without going too over the top.
  22. 'Tis both a blessing and a curse. I can't count the number of times my family has stared at me like I'm crazy after I gasp at the TV and point out a player is wearing an outdated jersey template.
  23. four patches wouldn't look nearly as bad if they switched the SB57 and captain's patches, having both of the giant clunky patches on the same side just doesn't fit well in that space. look how close the Lamar Hunt patch is to the numbers.
  24. Even if it ended in heartbreak, still a helluva season for the Lions. They'll absolutely be back soon enough with all their young talent. Wishing them the best next near. Please, dear god almighty, let the 49ers beat the ever-living hell out of Kansas City.
