  1. All the dumbass gopher fans that are mad at the extension not realizing he's literally our best coach since the 60s. We beat the Badgers back to back for the first time in my life. Do we have headscratching losses each year? Yeah. Is it better than the alternative with pretty much any other coach we could get? Hell :censored:ing yes. I'll take the goofy mother:censored:er with no sense of uniform style over another potential Brewster any day. We finished no. 10 in 2019, good enough to make it to the playoffs now. That was unthinkable a decade ago. Ski u Mah and row the boat
  2. After seeing USC get :censored: stomped by a physical brand of football, I cannot wait for them to face off against highly physical teams in below freezing temps. I can't wait to see 260 lbs farm boy TE who's bench is measured in tractor tires break 5 tackles as Lincoln Riley looks on in bewilderment. The LA schools have no place in the BIG and I hope they fail for leaving the PAC to die
  3. TCU should still be in the playoff picture. 12-1 with the only loss being in OT of a championship game > 2 losses
  4. All the inserts and piping gives it an early 2000s feel, which based on when they were founded wouldn't be the worst thing in the world
  5. If I had a bezos-esque fortune I would sponsor all the bowl games and just give them a noncorporate name. The Fiesta and Peach Bowl don't need PS4 and Chick-fil-A on their branding. If lower ranked bowls want to he taken seriously and treated like they matter, slapping bad boyz lawnmowers to the front of it and playing in the worst baseball stadium isn't the way to do it. I'd also move a bowl to US Bank stadium and call it the "Northstar Bowl" with a B10 and MAC tie in
  6. I know people born in Arizona that consider themselves Minnesotan, Wisconsinite, or from Chicago because their parents are from there and they support the Vikings/Packers/Bears/ect. instead of the home team. Arizona has less state pride than Iowa and the Dakotas. City pride for Phoenix is mostly constrained to ":censored: Tucson." Idk if it's transplant markets or if AZ/Phoenix area is just uniquely unable to garner civic pride. Either way it's weird
  7. Good thing I'm leaving this state after graduation (fingers crossed), hopefully for a market that gives a about sports all the time, not just when their teams are in the finals. My freshman year at ASU I saw maybe a handful of people wearing Suns gear, now I see people wearing Suns stuff and hyping up the team constantly. Growing up I saw people wearing Vikings and Twins stuff even when we were dog :censored:. Worst fairweather fans I've ever seen. You could take all 4 teams away from the valley and barely anyone would blink. Keep the Suns and Cards, ship the Dbacks and Coyotes away. It's what needs to happen /endrant EDIT: In all fairness I am a transplant. But of the native Arizonans I have as friends: over half don't give a :censored: about sports at all (like, more than just the average amount of people not being into sports). The ones that do care are split between other teams and AZ teams. Not a good sign for half of the Arizonans aged 18-22 I know to not care about home teams
  8. As an Anglo Arizonan (originally from the Midwest but I've spent my entire short adult life here), not enough people care about the D-Backs. If anything a Spanish name would have probably made Anglo Arizonans more likely to keep following the team for the faux-thentic Mexican culture that all the suburban Scottsdale moms that took 10th grade Spanish seem to love more than their kids. And it might have actually won over more Hispanic fans instead of the community being split almost 55/45 in favor of the Dodgers. I can't wait for this team to move to Vegas so we can get a team with a better name down here. 2001 is a literal lifetime away for people like me, and the amount of people my age wearing D-Backs stuff is outweighed by people that wear Cubs/Dodgers/Whitesox/Angels/Twins/Brewers ect. Unless the D-Backs turn it around, they're dead in their own market
  9. I was gonna make a joke comparing the Snyder organization to the Catholic Church because of all the scandals, but then I remembered the Washington cheerleaders are at least adults
  10. I wish the name could have been Redgolds. Old timey but unique. I think there's a University in Wisconsin called the Bluegolds and it works well. I don't understand naming it Armada or Admirals for DC other than the government running the military. Is there any specific naval connections to DC? I know Maryland and Virginia have naval bases
  11. I would doubt it, for uniforms at least, because they probably want to use players as models for any new uniforms
  12. Minnesota offensive lineman Daniel Faalele, standing at 6'9, 380 pounds became the heaviest player to score a touchdown in college football history last night against West Virginia after lining up at fullback
  13. Simple fix, go back in time and make it so they're named the Grays and just use a G as the main logo.
  14. I wish MLB could have pulled an NFL and just put it on the sleeve. I don't hate the swoosh as much as others, but I think it does detract from the aesthetic a bit. Not to get too off topic, but why are the NFL and NHL seemingly the only leagues without the makers mark on the chest? Why couldn't the NBA get the logo on the back like hockey and MLB on the sleeve like the NFL?
  15. Baseball being 50 years behind everyone else is traditional. Them getting the swoosh now is the most baseball thing ever
  16. Probably not before playoffs though? And I'm guessing they'd want to do it after the super bowl. So I'm not sure how soon "very soon" actually is
  17. I'm surprised the Generals are back, given the brands connection to a certain former social media influencer that caused the league to go under the first time
  18. ASU with a military appreciation uniform
  19. I think the road uniforms are a big upgrade. Block lettering is superior for longer names and 2 word names IMO
  20. The Twins definitely have never had a truly terrible primary uniform like some other teams. Everything has been solid to mediocre. The current uniform is really just *meh*. We also haven't had anything super outstanding either, but I'll take it. We've really been spoiled as Twins fans a bit
