  1. I quite like a lot of what we have here. I think the league did a good job. I don’t think there is a bad apple in the bunch honestly. I like the colors, and I’m glad we have some returning, albeit, modified identities from 2020. I think the biggest outlier here is Arlington.

I think I see what’s going on there. I see A/R with the A in the negative space. I also see a D (for Dallas) being crossed out. It’s cheeky, and petty. I dig it. The logo as a whole is a downgrade from the bandit, but I do like how it stands out amongst the set. Feels different from everything else. I think the designers did a good job avoiding making the logos look like they came from the same house.

My home team is the Brahmas and I think they smoked it. Big fan of this new take on the Bull skull. I dig the lightning bolt horns. Kind of a call back to the Thunderbolts from 2001 with the B in the middle. Love the dark gray and yellow too. I hope the primary jersey is yellow, but I think they’ll be tempted to go gray with yellow pants. Ahh well.

Im in the minority but I also love the guardians. The name doesn’t bother me. We’ve seen it a million times…a team relocates and keeps the name/logos even if it doesn’t make sense. I like what they’ve done here though. Turned the NY gargoyle into a Florida Panther, and gave it kick ass colors. You can still see the roots of the team, but the change is substantial enough that it feels new.

  2. I like the name. The popular thing these days is “that’s an XFL name” but I don’t see it here. I kinda feel that critique doesn’t work for a lot of new names (aside from the obviously wacky ones) anyhow. I like the logo as well. It’s simple, clean, and gets across what it’s supposed to represent. No complaints.

The uniforms are the disappointment of this rebrand. As far as positives go, the burgundy helmet and the burgundy jersey is really nice. THAT’S IT. The white jersey looks like it’s for a different team. Just so many unnecessary details, and lack of all team colors sucks. The black is an alternate so I’m less bothered by it, but that black helmet is stupid.

The other thing that bothered me about these uniforms are the lack of stripes on the pants. They have a nice stripe pattern on the burgundy jersey…put that on the pants! Honestly, make white and black versions of the burgandy jersey, and do pants stripes and this is a great look. Huge miss here.

If the Rams came out with these from the get-go they wouldn't be getting near as much praise as they are now. The numbers are the worst in the league, the nametag is beyond stupid, and the shoulders/sleeves are a lame imitation of what was a great look for decades. Their helmets still suck, they still go for the yoga pants half the time, and they promote their uniforms with players who look like they're wearing ballerina tutus. From a 0/10 uniform to a 1/10. Demoff and crew are doing great things out there in Los Angeles

Hard disagree. These two jerseys were exactly what I was hoping we’d get from a modern update of the classics.

Are there some things that I didn’t hope for on here? Sure. The gradient isn’t ideal and I’d like the numbers more without the shiny parts. That being said it’s still a nice font. I like the new horn, I like the placement on the sleeves (considering sleeves don’t really exist anymore), and I’m not bothered by the tag at all.

No chance these are panned if the white Jersey was shown in place of that bone set. I just can’t see it. Will everyone love it? Obviously no, but it wouldn’t be the joke of Twitter like the original reveal was.

  4. Still thinking about the new Rams away Jersey (manifesting that). I liked the blue Jersey last year, but was really sad about the bone debacle. I finally saw the new jersey and the blue together in this photo today, and now I love the blue. The set finally feels complete. Both of these over the the yellow pants with the blue socks and I’m down with the Rams looking like this for a long time.

I wanted a modern take on the classics and they did it. If I have to complain the gradient can go, and the bone uniform MUST be relegated to alternate or destroyed next year. Other than that I’m happy, new horn and all.

  5. Thank you Rams! From now on that’s how you shoot! These whites and the blues over yellow pants are all they needed. That’s how it should’ve been from day 1. Throw those bone joints in the bin expeditiously.

Im so pleased with this. I loved the blue and this is all I wanted. This is a proper modernization of the classic Rams look and I’m here for it.

  6. That Rams white is what they should’ve been wearing along side the blue last year. My only complaint is it still isn’t the same as the blue, only in white. It has sleeve numbers and the blue doesn’t. That being said this is a massive upgrade and will look great with the yellow pants.

What exactly would you want because those are all classic logos.

The Stamps, for example, the white horse is the symbol of the Stampeders and I don't know what you could change. They added a circle behind the logo for a couple years, but then switched back to just the horse.

Did they ditch the circle? I really liked the addition tbh. Never was a fan of the plain white silhouette. Just feels lacking as a primary mark.

  8. These updates have been fantastic. Seems like each time you go back and change something it’s an improvement and that’s not always the case in logo design. LA looks how it should finally. You crushed it.

I do hope that when this is all said and done you put all the finalized identities in one image. I’d love to see the logos/uniforms side by side and get a real feel for this league aesthetically.

What, just because they don't want North American-style names? That's a lame reason to want to kill the most successful endeavor of North American soccer.

To be honest I kinda dig the mix of North American and European name branding. It has a certain charm and quirkiness that I feel fits the MLS. It also hits American soccer fans that are pulling for the MLS’ growth, and American fans of Euro football.

The issue is likelihood of confusion as to the source/ownership of the product.

The NFL and/or the Titans don't own the image of an oil derrick, per se, any more than the league or teams own the image of a star or a horseshoe or the profile of a bird's head.  However, there are pretty striking similarities in the underlying designs, offset only by the star and the H overlaying the bottom of the derrick.  Take those away and the remainder of the design is essentially identical to the Oilers logo.

The NFL could win a lawsuit on “if he didn’t have a penis he’d be a girl?” Those elements of the logo are essential to what the logo is. Hypothetically removing them to prove it might look like another logo is wild. Thanks for the education.

I'd also think that if the NFL wanted to take this on, that slapping an H and star onto the logo wouldn't be enough to deter them.

Does the NFL own the image of an oil derrick or something? I’m completely ignorant to these type of laws, but there is only so many ways to draw those and the NFL just happened to get there first.

Really seeing the blue now. I thought it was purple for the longest time. Mostly in their logo.

Wildcats remind me a lot of the old AFL New York Dragons in their home uniforms. Having a number 8 under center probably enhances the similarity.

That’s what it is! I knew they reminded me of something. Garcia used to be the man for the Dragons. I miss AFL 1.0 so much.

I don't get how the V logo is so bad. What it's too simple? Besides what if they put the snake head on the helmet, Mattel/Hasbro might complain it too close to their Cobra logo?

I’m with you on the V logo. I like it too, but the snake head logo isn’t even close to the cobra so no worries there.

Was it here that someone suggested that maybe the LA team was going to be the Wildfires and maybe that's how/why they're now the Wildcats. Purely speculation. But their logos and design and colors fit perfectly for that name. I don't think black, orange and red for Wildcats.

Oh wow. Looking at the LA logo I thought maybe the cross bar of the A created a stylized big cat tail, but that could totally be a flame. I gotta say I’m not mad they pulled Wildcats out of their butts and made it work because keeping Wildfires would have been tone deaf as hell.
