  1. Too bad we have to wait a year. I wonder if this supply issue will affect any other teams planning for a secondary shell?
  2. Both teams used some variation of blue and yellow for most if not all of their history. Both used navy for a significant period, so it makes sense for both to have that option. It'd be funny/stupid if Rams this year reveal something that resembles the Chargers alt navy unis. Aside from that, they're easy enough to distinguish. Like the Bills and Giants, just in the same city.
  3. Based on the way the Rams have done everything else with this re-brand/uni reveal, I don't think there's any way they don't get an alternate shell and a full additional uniform to match. The white jersey makes sense for the Fearsome Foursome era because they seemed to mostly mostly wear white then, sort of like Dallas now. But that's the only reason. I can't see them having two white jerseys that aren't much different from each other. I do think a navy jersey with white numbers and white pants could happen.
  4. I could see them going with a navy shell and jersey with white numbers, pants and horn decals. Throwback-ish to the 60's teams, and the white pants could rotate in with the royal and white jerseys. All the years when the Rams helmet shell was clearly darker than the jersey, it never bothered me. Now that I've seen how it looks when they match, I don't like the mismatched shell/jersey. I wonder if they'd do a true throwback with the mismatched helmet/jersey. That, to me, would be a waste of the new shell.
  5. Does anybody know how the league's uniform designation system works? For example, I know the jerseys designated as alternates can be worn only three times per year. That was why, for example, the Rams wore their new white jerseys only three times in the regular season and had to get permission to use them in the Super Bowl. Are there only two (home and away) that can be considered primary and anything else is considered and alternate? The Chargers unveiled all four sets at once, and based on how they've worn them over the past two years, it looks like that's how it works — for the Chargers, they use the white and powder blue jerseys as primary, with the royal and navy jerseys as alternate. For the Rams it seems pretty obvious to designate the primaries as the royal and white jerseys, and the alternates the bone and whatever they do this year.
  6. Yep. I am expecting something with this color as well. Why else go to the trouble of branding it and featuring it so prominently on the logo slick? They could go with a 60s-era "modern throwback" with navy shells and white horns. But something tells me it will be more over-the-top than that. I think unveiling a yellow jersey and white pants this year would mix in well with the other jersey/pants combos and would be a nice tribute to the 50's era teams. That's probably too simple too. And I don't think the Rams will be able to resist getting a new shell, even if it makes no sense.
  7. I am a bit surprised there have been no hints from teams or leaks from anybody about this. Maybe that means there won't be any uni overhauls this offseason, just tweaks (a la the Colts) or additions (Rams). The Rams do so much mixing and matching of their current set, I am guessing whatever they do will fold into that. From that standpoint, I don't think changing the helmet shell would be likely for them. This is purely a guess but I think this year they will add a yellow jersey and white pants, a combo they wore in their first championship and their earliest days in LA.
  8. But it wasn't even his work he claims the unveiling confirms. It was SportsLogos.net. My main point is that I can't believe a details guy like Lukas thinks the Rams new alternate is the same as the one the autograph company created last week. That one is off-white with yellow sleeve stripes.
  9. I like Paul Lukas' site and his work but how does he think this unveiling confirms last week's leak?
  10. Demoff had talked previously about the organization being so disappointed that last year's draft hat leaked, robbing the Rams' opportunity to present the new logo how they wanted. About a year later the same thing happens, this time with the new alternate. Why would you wait, again, and increase your chances of the new thing leaking, again? Especially after last year when the logo that leaked was the worst possible recreation of the logo, and knowing your fan base is dying to see them. It sounds like they were waiting for everything to be perfectly set up so they could maximize online jersey orders. Instead, they get their thunder stolen because a rookie posted video of the back of the cheapest replica available. I'm a Rams fan, but, if that is what happened, it is what they deserve for being greedy.
  11. There also appeared to be a glimpse of a jersey like this in one of the videos the team released with last year's uni unveiling. It has white pants with it on the sketch, but I think yellow or blue pants would look better.
  12. Whitworth's uni comment might just be referring to the yellow-sleeved version from the 80s. Something from the 80s could be considered a throwback to him. Also, a while back on Reddit, somebody posted a thread speculating that the new alternate would be Sol. Johnny Hekker responded to that, "Doubtful."
  13. So is it only the Packers and Rams left to unveil new alternates this year?
