  1. Nearly forgot to add todays team. The Plymouth City Patriots were formed after the Raiders dropped out of the league in '21. This jersey set carries on the style of their current jerseys - I honestly felt it didn't need much change.
  2. Thanks - I was quite pleased how the Flyers trim worked out (it may crop up again later). As for the Kings trim, it could be a case that I over emphasised it. I do like the suggestion of using as a repeater - perhaps in sublimation. I'll revisit that set. EDIT: Here's a quick alternate take. I've added the previous crown trim in sublmination, and I'm quite liking it. The step and repeat seems a bit cluttered IMO, but I guess that could be fixed with a far subtler colour (which might not display as well here).
  3. Next from the South West, the Gloucester City Kings. This is a tema that has indicated its intentions to move into the BBL in the near future, bolsted by their sister team Gloucester City Queens joining the WBBL last season. I've adapted the Queens jersey style here, as to keep a bit of uniforminity to the club. The side pattern comes from the logo, which represents the Strawberry Leaf Crown found on the tomb of Edward II in Gloucester Cathederal.
  4. Continuing with the Southern Conference, here's the Bristol Flyers. I've adapted thier current uniform, into their third jersey. Admittedly the wordmark does not match that of thier logo - it was initially from a concept I had for a different logo but it just seems to work here. (at least to me). Coincidentally the Flyers use a painted script font on their current jerseys so they're not against using different wordmarks.
  5. First up, the fictional relocation of the Raiders franchise, previously playing in Plymouth. (Replaced by the Patriots in '21). The foxes made the trip up the M5 and decamped in the Second City. The original green of Plymouth has been swtiched out for Brummie blue, and as with their court, I've taken the zig-zag from the city flag and incorporated it into the third jersey.
  6. I've finally got around to posting my BBL jerseys. Those who followed the BBL courts thread will know some of the changes I made, but I'll detail the differences along the way. Firstly. this is not soley limited to the British Basketball League. I have promoted some teams from the NBL (and lower) as well as reviving some defunct teams, There's also a fictional relocation and a re-use of a defunct hockey team identity. For the purpose of this thread, I've also created two conferences; split into four divisions. I've highlighted the counties on the map below. The league logo is the current one the leage uses, that I've given a little refresh (border, shadow etc). I've not really done jersey concepts before, so these may not be the best set out there - but I guess you don't know unless you try eh?
  7. Dear oh dear.. what on Earth were they thinking with this? Even if its just a temporary logo, its still pretty bad. Compare this to the other merged compnay logo from June 1st - Virgin Media and O2 - simply adding the O2 blue to the VM red bow tie. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_Media_O2#/media/File:Virgin_Media_O2.svg It may not be perfect, but its a thousand times better than this new WBDiscovery logo.
  8. Ah ok, thanks. I guess there are compensations from the league for the team that moves too. You can't blame a team for staying though (keeping this generic) if you're in a decent divison that you have a 75% chance of winning, why move to a division that could reduce that to, say 50%. Of couse if that move means that you'd sell more regular season tickets then that works but is that worth it at the expense of playoff prospects. Anyway... I guess neither Detroit or Cleveland need to worry too much about it now. Not with this lease on the Trop still having a few years left in it.
  9. Putting the Trop lease to one side for a moment - do they have any facility in the Nashville area for the Rays to move to in the mean time? (Naturally, they do have time to build the stadium by the time the Rays can leave the Trop). Geographically, Cleveland makes more sense as the team displaced for Nashville going to the Central. But, apart from logistics and division identity, I wouldn't be surprised if the Rays stayed in the East for the short term. Same would apply if they went to Montreal - the city works in either division. (Whether that makes it right, is a whole other matter! ) Pardon my limited knowledge on this, but could Detroit or Cleveland just refuse to move? Or does the league reserve the right to move a teams division?
  10. Do the Rays have as clear a path to relocation as the A's ? (OK, so its not certain, but its likely they'd move to Vegas.) I'm thinking that Nashville was already mentioned for the Athletics, and theres been talk of Montreal but do either of them have things in place for such a move?
  11. Thanks. Given it a try, but it still just shows as the url and not the image.
  12. Forgive me if I'm asking an obvious question, but has the ability/process to post images changed? Previously I was using the BBCode(forums) url on imgur and it automatically pasted the image. Now its just the link. Is there a new way we're supposed to add images now? Thanks.
  13. haha yeah true. That probably would be the definitive 'weirdest move in history' - which is why I'd love to see it.. (I know it won't happen). There are plenty of moves that have happened in the past that probably would have seen as unlikely at the time. (Dodgers leaving Brooklyn, let alone the Giants joining them out West). Plus I'm sure there are dozens of relocations that nearly happened but didn't (ie. Giants to Tampa or Predators to Hamilton). Of course, I appriciate that there's a lot of practical reasons that stop these wild moves these days. (money being the main one).
  14. Well I think that is probably the most unexpect option should it come to pass. And, yeah its unlikely, but weirder things have happened in sports. I should add, that my earlier comment about the Rays going to Oakland was tongue-in-cheek due to the rhyming of A's and Rays. Should've put an emoji in that post..
  15. Probably been said already but.... Athletics move to where ever and Rays then move to Oakland. So they'd loose the A's and gain the Rays.
  16. I quite like the sound of the Albuquerque Athletics. I would not have thought of either of those. Guess its a crowded market, but full of possibilities.
  17. Just a curveball question - what location would be the biggest surprise for the move? Doesn't have to be one of the locations already mentioned. I'm thinking Seattle Pilots level of unexpected here.
  18. Some fantastic work there. That template is great too - I'm starting to like the mannaquin style templates; there was a hockey one not so long ago too. Seems to add a bit of life to concepts.
  19. Extending the stripes from the Blazers logo is inspired! And greyscale is something you wouldn't think would work for a court, but both actually work really well.
  20. Ah yes, sorry I see now I did word that a bit werird. Sorry 'bout that!
  21. These courts are outstanding. You've inspirted me to try to have a go at making my own. Hope you don't mind me asking, where's best to get the floor texture?
  22. Its a strange contradiction that the England football team uses blue, even though the flag of England (St. Geroge Cross) is red and white. If it was a Great Britain football team, then yeah a Union Flag motif can be incorporated more. Concept is excellent though luisgiants40. That helment with the lions in relief is outstanding.
