The Bruins FO really seems to think that black is badass and cool and yellow is wack or something which is a shame. From the logo to the socks to the away jersey being so black heavy and the last three or four third jerseys being black, they're afraid of embracing yellow as a team color for some reason. Why couldn't the away jersey have yellow shoulder yokes?
However fearful they are of using yellow is dwarfed significantly by their apparent apprehension toward using brown in their color scheme.
(Because...poop and pee?)
Bruin literally is a folk term for brown bear!

I must say that I enjoy seeing the brick red color, just not this particular sweater

Eh, dunno about that. The Devils aren't generally a team that goes that route, even post-Lou. I could easily see them unveiling something like a black and red version of their white throwback jersey and making bank off of that.

Only because it's apropos of the recent Anaheim discussion...
I'm sitting in a pizzeria, 3,000 miles from Anaheim, waiting for a few slices. I peek out the window and I notice a van with familiar jade and eggplant colors, along with the duck mask. Definitely caught my eye. Turns out, it was some construction company, and I want to say it was something like "Mighty Decks." I laughed to myself, thinking of this recent topic. But it definitely happened.
There's clearly some brand equity to the original look and feel.

Was the recent Yotes vs. Sabres game going to be the last (outside of uni manufacturers) ad-less matchup in the NHL?

How to you get that when you can only see the players chin. And you say that like you’re about to jizz your pants if they do wear them again. I hope they never get seen again and get sucked into a black hole.
The Twitter banter I heard was that the chrome helmet will indeed be paired with this new alternate, which will feature the shinier silver.
Not sure if that's true or where the rumor is coming from, though.

Reports from the Athletic that the reverse retro is getting a reboot for the 22/23 season.
Yes!

Still a dull look, but at least I can now notice some contrast between the silver and white!

what color are the numbers supposed to be? From the tweeted photos of the scrimmage game they appeared to be the brightest blue, the largest/upper stripe. But the video you posted and on tv they look more like the bottom stripe.
Feels like the lighting in the arena is playing tricks on my eyes, because my interpretation of what color it is keeps changing. Here, I think, the greener/paler blue looks to be used for the numbers, and it's outlined with the icier blue. Which does look different than how it appeared on that video clip of the goal.

I had the same interpretation as you!

Probably the old arena and lightning but the Kraken sweaters look pretty dull in this game.
here's how the first ever Kraken goal looked.

They look awesome! Maybe this is a nitpick, but could they have used the same numbers on the road whites? Or have the dark navy as an outline? The white is my preferred of the 2, but I have to say the name and number look great on the homes.

Yeah, looks like a false alarm/ wishful thinking that Edm fixes their navy uni.

Which of Edmonton's unis has that hem? Is this an unintentional Easter egg?

When we first saw the Kraken color scheme, I wasn't sure if another "double-blue" look was played out or if Seattle would end up looking like the Winnipeg Jets (primary) or CBJ (alt), with a midnight blue contrasted against a "powder" blue.
Seeing the colors more, I realize it's unique from the "aviator" blue and the Sharks' teal. It's tough to pin down the Kraken colors. When I've shown it to non-hockey fans, I'll get "mint" or "seafoam" when asked to describe the non-navy colors. They definitely dig the look, though, overall.
I know the Kraken have spoken at length about the various blues in their color scheme. Did one of the 4 blues get dropped, BTW? I'm more noticing the dark midnight navy, the light blue and the icy blue. When the light and icy blues play off each other against the navy, at least to my eye, they may be referred to as "blue," but they appear as a greenish shade. Is it me?
Either way, they look awesome, even on a baby-blue practice jersey with Starbucks ad

Seems like a missed opportunity, but I seem to remember Adidas wanted the RR to rotate on a regular basis.
Any insight into this @andrewharrington? That Yotes RR would be a nice candidate for a third. Curious if it's true that teams are flat out not allowed to promote a retro to an alt.
