  1. I found a Philadelphia Flyers kid's T-shirt in the Seattle area recently. XD
  2. Got a 1992-2002 white Pittsburgh Penguins (then) home jersey for $35.
  3. I got the Seattle Seahawks alternate green jersey for $25.
  4. Re: The Championship game patch: It first appeared @ Super Bowl XXV five months before World Bowl '91.
  5. Found a Julian Edelman Patriots jersey for $40 @ Buffalo Exchange (love that store).
  6. Found a 2008 Washington Nationals alternate BAT BOY jersey for $30 at a vintage clothing store. I love going to such places as well.
  7. Got a Hamilton Tiger-Cats T-shirt (yay CFL!) for $4, and a Seattle Dragons (from three years ago) cap for $7.
  8. - A new entry - when the late Hank Aaron's jersey number #44 was retired by the Braves in 1977, they gave him a jersey that was the successor to the last look he wore for the team.
  9. More great finds: A Seattle Kraken cap and a Staten Island Yankees cap, and at a vintage store, a 2002-11 Seahawks home jersey with RAGSDALE and the #96. Not too bad.....
  10. While Tom Seaver did wear the Mets racing stripe "home jersey", I think this counts, as in 1987, the by-then 42 year old Seaver faced off againts Mets minor leaguers, and then retired; he's wearing this one year only style road uniform. More deets here: https://njbaseball.net/tom-seaver-1987-mets/
  11. Well, I got an Arizona Diamondbacks sweater and Seattle Kraken jersey for $20 each, and a minor league cap whose team I cannot recognize for $10: And this one, which I did not get because it didn't fit me: Anybody know who these teams are?
  12. Now I got a Minnesota Vikings Ahmad Rashad #28 jersey for $6. Nice!
  13. Also, here's one fun thing the WLAF had: Three Easter Sunday games, one in 1991, and two in 1992!
  14. You are correct, the league kept the World League name for three seasons (1995-97; the league took a two-season hiatus in 1993 and 1994) before transitioning to NFL Europe.
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OY4aobHByj8 - Also: The one good thing that came out of the WLAF: The Helmetcam. Yes, it was quite bulky and cumbersome, but for its time, it was quite the game-changer in football coverage on TV.
  16. ^ Riddell did something similiar for the USFL a decade earlier; of note is the WLAF masks were made of Kra-Lite plastic, and could reportedly hold up a normal-size car w/o breaking. Another thing of note, is that the WLAF placed their league logo on the hip of the pants, and not the yoke of the jersey collar as would later become standard.
  17. Do you remember the WLAF? The World League (of American Football) was created and backed by the NFL, and played for two seasons (1991 and 1992) as a hybrid North American/European league (I'm focusing on those initial seasons only, and not the later ones where they became a purely European league), as part of the league's initiative of trying to grow the game abroad. Sadly, despite the NFL's backing, the league was merely a blip on the radar in North America, but the three European teams gained a huge following there in their respective markets. What do you remember most about the WLAF? What did the NFL have right and have wrong with the experiment? Post it here.
  18. Well, a day later, the PHILLIPS jersey came home with me, and I got a Seahawks 2012 white jersey w/ the name LYNN and the #13 for $6.
  19. I found the 2010-15 Toronto Maple Leafs jersey for $15, and a 1983-94 Kansas City Royals BP jersey w/the name REESE and #61 on the back, with this autograph on the front: Who is it? Also, I turned down a 2010s $22 Seattle Mariners BP jersey (with the name Phillips and the #62), since I have one like it already.
  20. So I broke through and found a Seattle Mariners spring training cap with the trident in the current colors for $16, the Dallas Stars 1998-2007 "star" jersey for $20, and a Cincinnati Reds current style jersey with the name SCHUELER and the #66 on it for $20. Nice. EDIT: It's likely the Reds jersey was a custom one, as my research has found out nobody with that name has ever worn that number for the team.
  21. Well, my first find for this year is this Mets cap for $6.
  22. From the "Wait, WHAT?!" department: Julius Erving, aka Dr. J. actually was an Atlanta Hawk..... for all of two exhibition games in 1972. More here: https://www.sportscasting.com/julius-erving-atlanta-hawks-short-fawned-1-their-stars/
