  1. On the other hand, here he is as a Seattle Seahawk. Funny that he started his career there....
  2. Didn't even realize Goose Gossage played into the mid-90's. Great find. Yep; his last season was 1994; also his only season with the M's.
  3. - More CFL goodness; from 1989, the only time the first-generation Saskatchewan Roughriders w/the current logo (with all the sleeve striping) met the 'dynamic' Toronto Argonauts in their first year @ what's now Rogers Centre. The Riders removed all striping on their jerseys and left only their logo the next year after their Grey Cup win that year.
  4. - That's Brandon Browner, current Patriot and former Seahawk; before the two Super Bowl rings this year and last, he won a Grey Cup ring with the 2008 Calgary Stampeders; you might say that puts him in a pretty rarefied air; winning football championships on both sides of the border- only six other people can say they've done that.
  5. Can't seem to track down a pic, but the first-year Carolina Panthers met the New England Patriots in 1995. What makes this so significant? It was the only time the Panthers (whose uniform has not changed substantially in their 20 years of operation) met the Patriots in their first-generation Flying Elvis uniforms (albeit with a few tweaks since the Elvis logo debuted in 1993). The two teams met next in 2002 (albeit in January, so technically, they met in the 2001 season, but that game was postponed due to 9/11) by which time the Pats switched to what is more-or-less still their current look.
  6. I recently found a cap like that @ a Value Village in Everett; but I passed on it because it was too small for me (7 1/8).
  7. - I'm a Mariners fan, and I was a wee kid when Goose pitched for the M's at the end of his career. I feel like it never happened.
  8. The current New York Jets is feh. They should bring back the 1980s logo, personally.
  9. The first-gen Winnipeg Jets met the blue Pittsburgh Penguins twice in the Jets' first year (1979) in the NHL before the Pens changed their color scheme to start 1980.
  10. The Winnipeg Jets (first-generation) met the Colorado Avalanche four times in the 1995-96 season (and the only four times under the original banner of the Jets). I cannot find pics, YET again.
  11. ^ Heh. Didn't realize that little detail about the Bucs number coloring. Thanks for pointing that out to me (although, why didn't they change the sleeve stripe coloring to match on the white jersey?).
  12. - Hey, more video! This 1997 vid has the Minnesota Vikings in their 2.0 classic look (w/ the Norseman logo on the sleeves) in their only meeting against the black/green New York Jets getup (before the change to the neo-Namath look the next season).
  13. *sigh* No pictures, again, sadly, but in 1977, their second season of play, the classic-getup Seattle Seahawks met the white-helmeted Buffalo Bills for the only time. Both teams made a few changes to their uniforms by their next meeting in 1984.
  14. Matchup only happened twice, in 1976 and 1980 (by the latter game, the Bengals added TV numbers on the jersey sleeve and changed their facemask color to black, a prelude to the changes that would come in '81....)
  15. That second one: I did post a video of this a few pages back.
  16. As I aforementioned on the first post of this page, the Mariners met the Rangers as you said. 1993 was also the only year that the mid-1990s Angels met the 'ball-in-glove' Brewers and the racing stripe Indians.
  17. No pictures again, but the first year of the Seattle Mariners current navy/teal getups met the Milwaukee Brewers 'ball-in-glove'/blue and yellow look in 1993. Only season it occurred. The same can be said of the M's meeting the racing-stripe Cleveland Indians and the Nolan Ryan-era Texas Rangers as well.
  18. Oh, nevermind. A pic of the Nordiques/Ducks is in this thread. Silly me. XD
  19. Yet another gem from 1997; the first-generation Ravens uniforms meet the LT/Phil Simms-style unis for the only time ever (we all know the Ravens changed their logo in 1999).
  20. Again, no pics, but the beltless/pullover jersey Cincinnati Reds met the new-style Montreal Expos and the current-style Phillies in 1992.
  21. From 1997, the one and only time the Nikefied Broncos (first season in this set) met the classic Rams getup.
  22. Another gem from 1998; second year of the Nikefied Broncos set, and the penultimate year of the Phil Simms/LT-era Giants togs.
  23. From 1998, first year for the Jets neo-Namath unis vs the Rams classic look, which was discontinued after the following season.
