  4. I don't know if this is brilliant, but I did create it for my wife's photography business...
  5. I was expecting to see the rumored color change in this concept but was way happier with what I saw! I think the simplified logo and more stylized/modern font are great. I think the concept would also look good w/o the anchor on the cap with the M. I think the anchor is a little much for the cap. An alt hat or jersey with just the compass would look great too!
  6. I'm playing in an off-board league and designed the league logo for the league, C&C welcome.
  7. Came across this resource today and wanted to share with the community! colourlovers.com COLOURlovers is a creative community where people from around the world create and share colors, palettes and patterns, discuss the latest trends and explore colorful articles...
  8. Really strong concept. Are the four dots on the lighthouse representative of the four cups? I would like to see an Alt with some type of Brooklyn mark. For marketing alone I imagine the team will take a page out of the Nets' book. Perhaps the apparel image you posted with the whole project...the one with Islanders over the lighthouse, but change to Brooklyn over the lighthouse. I think that would look sharp on a blue or even an orange alt.
  9. I think the owl is an upgrade from the POV that it is more production friendly, for apparel, etc. The font seems bolder in the original and doesn't appear to be as pronounced in the updated mark. On a side note...anyone else feel that when you actually go to a Hooters that the A-team is always off that night and the B or C team is working?

  11. This might miss the overall point of the thread, but the memories are still great! In person: 10/3/90: Cecil Fielder hits #50 and #51 @ Yankees. As a 9 y/o this was special because my Dad was teaching me about Mantle and Maris most of the night too. 4/19/09: Yankees host Indians; Opening Weekend @ New Yankee Stadium. Bday gift for Dad sitting front row on RCF Auxiliary Scoreboard. 10/25/09: Yankees defeat Angles; ALCS Game 6. Attended with brother, sitting front row, 1B side, but ballboy. Phil Coke poured champagne on my brother and I. 4/13/10: Yankees Home Opener; 09 Ring ceremony. 5th row behind dugout. Conversed with Yankee President Lon Trost after a Nick Johnson HR. TV: 1994 NY Rangers/Knicks Playoff Run (With OJ car chase sprinkled in) 1996 Yankee Playoff Run Radio: 5/17/98: David Wells' Perfect Game

  16. HOUSTON TO HOST NBA ALL-STAR 2013 -- Marks the Third Time Houston Hosts NBA All-Star-- HOUSTON, Feb. 8, 2012 ? Houston will once again play host to a constellation of the world?s brightest stars as it has been selected as the site of NBA All-Star 2013, the NBA announced today. The 62nd NBA All-Star Game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Toyota Center, which will also host the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge and NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by State Farm. NBA All-Star Jam Session, the hugely successful interactive basketball celebration, will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center. ?Houston is a spectacular sports city, and for one week it will be the basketball capital of the world,? said NBA Commissioner David Stern. ?NBA All-Star is a magnificent celebration of our game, and I want to thank the city and the Rockets for welcoming us once again.? The 2013 game will mark the third NBA All-Star celebration in Houston. The city also hosted the event in 1989 and in 2006. ?I am thrilled the Rockets and the City of Houston have once again brought NBA All-Star to Toyota Center,? said Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander. ?The All-Star Game showcases the best basketball players in the world and will allow our great Rockets fans and the entire community the opportunity to once again experience the best that our league has to offer. The 2006 All-Star Game in Houston was a tremendous success and we plan to set the bar even higher in 2013. We take great pride in Toyota Center?s standing as one of the premier venues in the country and are honored to be the first arena in Texas to host the game for a second time.? ?I want to thank the City staff, Houston Rockets Owner Leslie Alexander and the Houston/Harris County Sports Authority for all the work that went into bringing this world premier sporting event back to Houston,? said Houston Mayor Annise D. Parker. ?Houston knows how to show visitors a good time and we can?t wait to pamper NBA fans with our southern hospitality and charm. You could spend 365 days in our city and still not experience everything this town has to offer. We are alive with talent, rich in diversity and just downright full of fun. I wish the NBA and all of its fans an unforgettable stay in Houston.? The 2013 game will mark the 29th year that Turner Sports will provide NBA All-Star coverage, and the 11th consecutive year the All-Star Game will be televised in primetime on TNT. The All-Star Game will be seen by a worldwide television audience in more than 200 countries and territories and in more than 40 languages.
  17. For all my Giants fans!
  18. thats something i have wanted to do, hows does one start? any tips? For me it was always something I wanted to do. So a few years ago I was working in a middle school and asked the principal if I could announce the boys and girls games. He said there sure. So one day I showed up with my laptop, some music files, and announced the game and did in-game sound, AND ran the clock during the game. Ever since then I have been creating a pro stadium/arena atmosphere where ever I go. Actually this year, the girls varsity coach thanked me after a game and said the games are like being at Madison Square Garden. If you want to do you need to make the opportunity for yourself. I don't know if the O's will ever contact me, but you have to start somewhere. I'm still upset that I missed the opportunity to go to NYC and audition for Nets job which was held in the Fall for the Barclay's Center.
  19. I just wanted to share with the community that I have applied for the PA announcer position at Camden Yards. Some of you know that I have been announcing for a few years now at the high school level. I have been announcing HS Football for 3 years and I have been doing basketball for four. I will keep everyone posted on what happens, but it would be an awesome dream to make it to that level. I take pride in my work and always conduct myself with a super amount of professionalism in the press box or court side. I figured after years of people telling me how great I sound, I should give it a shot. So we'll see what happens
