  1. Well sure, there's been lots of talk on the forums, my point was that there is no coverage of CPL on the main site, or the Sportslogos.net social media. It just seems odd, regardless of whatever sports we're personally fans of, for the site not to cover a new league, when there's coverage of every minor league baseball novelty jersey night. I find it odd that if people are offering to cover the league he wouldn't respond.
  2. So, when I heard the uniforms were coming out on Friday, the first place I went to look for pics was this site. I was surprised to see if looks like Chris hasn't covered the CPL at all on the main page, there's no section for CPL under soccer, and there was nothing on the main page or twitter on the kit launches.
  3. Seems to be a bunch of scuttlebut on twitter that Ottawa may not be the 8th team in CPL for the first season. Creates quite a bit of speculation as to where else they may go. The league needs to have a presence in Quebec IMO.
  4. And as I wrote that post, they tweet their crest unveiling video. https://twitter.com/CPLCavalryFC/status/997239229838065666
  5. Calgary is here. https://twitter.com/CPLCavalryFC/status/997235026734428160 Victoria is apparently a good chance as well! http://www.timescolonist.com/sports/deal-close-for-bringing-pro-soccer-team-to-greater-victoria-would-play-at-westhills-1.23305274
  6. They so easily could have gone for yet another United, thank god for something different.
  7. I like that there is no soccer ball. First club announcement is in a couple of weeks, so we should start to see some team logos hopefully.
  8. Basically, if you work in government, you can't accept gifts of any significant value. People bitch about government employees all the time, but at least in Canada, they're under pretty strict rules about that kind of thing.
  9. Going to be amusing to see how they spin giving Seattle less generous expansion draft terms than Vegas got.
  10. I will always remain thankful GM Place/Rogers Arena in Vancouver was built entirely privately (as stadiums should be). The BC place reno was hugely publicly expensive, but at least the public owns the facility.
  11. Coaching in the same division as Vegas might be a challenge?
  12. The arena's already been built under shady circumstances. Quebec has already been screwed; we are now merely awaiting confirmation of the extent of said screwing. To be fair, I think everything in Quebec is built in shady circumstances. There has been a hell of a lot of corruption come to light in Quebec over the last few years.
  13. Less obtuse thread titles would probably help make it clear too.
  14. This Rogers commercial would be more realistic if the family of Vancouver fans with Mark Messier spent the whole commercial trying to kill him.
  15. For some reason they've been making replicas of that Canucks jersey and stocking them in stores around Vancouver. I don't get it, they weren't even popular when they were new. That jersey has a couple of interesting things going on, a phantom flying v homage, and the only red primary canucks jersey design ever made, unless you count the Orca gradient jersey, which I don't. Oh, also, that picture is also a rare match up as the Canucks wore that jersey with black socks for one year, and then red socks the second year of that jersey.
  16. But think of the home-pitch advantage when we play in Tuktoyaktuk!
  17. Do we have tweet embeding in the forum software? If so, what option do I use? I see the twitter button but it appears to be just to link to a twitter account.
  18. They're going to see the operations of the closest NHL team to them. It only makes sense if you want to get into the business.
  19. Somehow, it's a mark of how crazy this story has become that the mention of Jeremey Roenick being involved with running a hockey team isn't even remarkable.
  20. Hmm, I wonder if the canucks ever wore that salmon coloured third jersey against the avs.
  21. Halifax is far too small population wise and doesn't have a suitable arena. And do we need another time zone in the NHL?
  22. To be fair, even in a hockey hotbed like Vancouver, mediocre to awful teams like in the Keenan era in the late 90s had GM Place half full.
