It happens when the same person owns both teams and the arena. I also don't see how chevy is "clearly" an inspiration for the logo. Why would a car logo be a source of inspiration? Does it look similar, yes. but that's it. They took the existing shield shape, added a rectangle around the word mark, done. It's really nothing more than that.

I've always seen it as night and the moon. A dark forest with only the light of the moon to show the way, the ever present north star, even the streaks crossing over the sun/moon feel ominous to me. Night time, where a wild animal stalks.
