  1. Interestingly enough, the Lightning's original Hawaiian Blue was the same color as the Honolulu Blue used by the Detroit Lions from 1980 through 1996.
  2. The inaugural set also had different sleeve numbers and collars, but I get what you're saying. The white socks up through 2006-07 didn't have black lower sections like the sleeves, which to me made the black lower sections of the sleeves seem tacked on to the white jersey. Maybe they thought that making the lower sections of the sleeves black resulted in a "plain white t-shirt" effect? Just a thought.
  3. It makes the aways, other than the back number(s) and name, a white version of the homes.
  4. It appears that it was worn at least once, likely on August 10, 1999, against the Baltimore Orioles. Wade Boggs made his second career appearance as a pitcher during the game. 1999 Wade Boggs Tampa Bay Devil Rays Signed Game Worn Cap

  6. Ottawa Senators Introduce New Primary Logo Full Uniform Changes to be Unveiled October 6 OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) today unveiled an updated primary logo that will see the organization return to its roots with the implementation of a modified original "2D" logo. The updated look is one that fans, partners and players have clamoured to see return. The new primary logo will also be part of an expanded new identity and overall uniform change, with those details set to be revealed prior to the NHL Draft on Tuesday, Oct. 6 "It is time for the Senators to return to our roots," said Mr. Eugene Melnyk, owner of the Ottawa Senators. "The fans of this great franchise have high expectations. We have heard from our fans, our partners and our players, and we have listened. It is time to return to our heritage, but in a bold, new manner. The Senators have a rich history in our community, and we are ready for the next chapter to begin." The familiar two-dimensional profile of the Roman soldier makes its return, with gold trimming replacing the original logo's red on the cape. The gold semicircle with laurel leaves, which anchors the logo, makes its return and increases its association with the letter "O". The new logo replaces the modernized version of the logo that was first introduced prior to the 2007-08 season. A secondary logo will not be used for the 2020-21 season. "A logo is an important part of any teams' identity, but it isn't the only part," said Anthony LeBlanc, president of business operations of the Ottawa Senators. "The way this logo will be incorporated into our updated uniforms is the mark of a winner. It is time to start our new chapter of hockey excellence. A chapter that will make Sens fans in the Capital Region proud. We very much look forward to the unveiling of our new home and away uniforms on October 6."
  7. Is the Washington Football Team name here to stay? Daniel Snyder says 'it's possible' The Washington Football Team could be here to stay. Team owner Daniel Snyder told The Wall Street Journal it is possible the team will keep its temporary name, which it initially said would be used for the 2020 season until a different name was selected. “Sure, it’s possible!” Snyder wrote in an email to The Wall Street Journal. “If the Washington Football Team name catches on and our fans embrace it then we would be happy to have it as our permanent name,” he wrote. “I think we have developed a very classy retro look and feel.” He told The Wall Street Journal he doesn’t have a deadline for choosing a permanent name. “Our timeline is to get this right,” Snyder wrote in the email.
  8. Yes, I do realize that. I just found it funny that the line separating the horn has to be blurred out or the helmet has to be at an angle where you can barely see it for it not to be a problem. (I thought perhaps you and @QCS might have been poking fun at that. "Hey, problem solved when you can't see the line!" Which is why I asked if you guys were kidding.) If the fans in the stadium can't see the line then they're getting their money's worth. But the other 16.5 million fans watching it on TV? They won't be so lucky. And don't forget about the untold number of times it will be clearly seen in all other forms of visual media. P.S. From a distance, the world looks blue and green, and the snow-capped mountains white—unlike the Rams' bone uniform.
  9. Sure, when it's blurred out or barely visible in 3/4 view. Come on, you guys are kidding, right?
  10. It looks like it was an option. Using the pattern on the pants might be too much. Using something similar to the original pants stripe might work.
  11. The Kings should be wearing something like this. (Small tweaks to the logo.)
