  1. Does any one here have ties to LSUA or know anyone who does? They held a logo contest back in August & have yet to post anything about it. Wondering what became of it, I've tried to make contact but haven't had much luck. Below is the add they posted. If this is not the right place for this by all means please move it to where it belongs, thnx! https://www.lsua.edu/news/noteworthy/2017/08/01/lsua-athletics-logo-contest
  2. I really like the look of team specific ugly Christmas sweaters with the snowflakes, Reindeer and other Christmas related imagery but I could never justify spending the 80 dollars for something I'm only going to wear one month a year. So I decided to use my photoshop knowledge to make ugly Christmas sweater themed wallpapers for my friends and I. Here are some I've made so far let me know your thoughts.
  3. Just wanted to share a new template I created intended to display a uniform of any sort. Below are two finished examples, one with soccer, and another with football equipment. Message me to get a hold of a blank template with no watermark. It is saved as a png. file and I personally used paint.net. Nothing special just hoping it may spark someone's interest. Enjoy! I am accepting feedback to adjust as well.
  4. As many (most?) of you know, the (vast) majority of people think the new/current Los Angeles Clippers logo sucks... and for good reason. But spontaneously - out of absolutely nowhere - I came up with a brilliant concept. If nobody has thought of this before, I might actually be surprised. (Maybe a little?) Well, check this one out! It's a prototype that exemplifies the best of minimalist design (which is the trend du jour), while incorporating elements that make way too much sense. And yes - the red and blue used here is EXACTLY the same as that used in the current and former Los Angeles Clippers logos. The logo looks like a boat, which is a stand-in for a Clipper ship - the Los Angeles Clippers, which were originally based in the naval city of San Diego (as the San Diego Clippers), borrows its nickname from the aforementioned seafaring vessel. The logo incorporates a stylized "LA" (which you can see here), and the bottom of the logo incorporates a part of a basketball, which is commonplace for NBA logos. (By my count, two-thirds of all NBA teams have this as part of their primary logo.) Not to brag, but I say that this idea is too good to ignore. If someone improves upon this design and it gets some serious press, I've done my job already. Thoughts? Disclaimer: This work, illustrated herein, is an entirely original concept by sj10689 (the original author of this thread); any other logos/designs which have already been created prior to the posting of this comment, that bear any (striking) similarity, or is (almost) exactly the same, constitutes a circumstance which is purely coincidental. Therefore, as sj10689 is verily the creator of this work, which was not in any way inspired by, nor copied from any other pre-existing works, sj10689 assumes full ownership of this property. P.S.: I go by "Adam_Halverson" outside the forums, on sportslogos.net. I reposted this concept on the Los Angeles Clippers primary logo page.
  5. Here we go again..... It's been awhile since I dabbled with the Thunder's look. I'm starting off slow this time with a concept board. It shows several different configurations of bison/cloud looks. The key ideas/thoughts/buzz words here are; power - maleficent - foreboding. Let me know what you think.
  6. I was browsing major Chicago sports logos online and noticed a trend with every team except the Bulls. The Cubs, White Sox, Bears, Blackhawks and Fire have both "object" logos and a "letter" logos, respectively. However, the Bulls only have an object logo. I wanted to create a letter logo for the Bulls, but it had to be attached stylistically to the current object logo. My creative focus was on the horns. The way some bull horns curl made the most sense in creating lettering. A "c" curve looked somewhat natural, so I came up with two differing types of Bulls C's. I am still working on creating a final design that closely relates to the elements of the Bulls "object" logo, so these are by no means my final designs. I posted my designs here to gain some feedback from a community of graphic design enthusiasts and creators. -Grayson Woods
  7. Hello folks! I would like to share a uniform template I have created. It’s called the Nike NBA Aeroswift Uniform Template. It’s in Adobe Photoshop. On that document, I have created every element Nike and sports design enthusiasts can come up (ex. NBA logo placements, necklines, etc.). Play around with what I made there as you can turn them on or off on the Layers portion of the program. Download it on the link below this text. And please credit me if you’ll use my template for your future projects. Please and thank you. =D TEMPLATE (EDITED 08/30/17) SOURCE IMAGES (CTO) -TheRealPepman
  8. Los Angeles Clippers Rebrand, any feedback would be appreciated
  9. Here is a logo concept inspired by member mattr1198's concept (if on dribbble it'd be a rebound). I meshed the Windy City Bulls' logo with my own creations: I think they both look pretty sweet, but my edge goes to the left. What about you?
  10. Aaron Dodson from The Undefeated listed The 30 Best NBA Throwback Jerseys is response to Nike's announcement that eight teams will be wearing a Classic Edition uniform (READ: Throwback) this upcoming year. There's a lot to be said about Dodson's list, which needless to say, I don't agree with. So I thought I'd share ONE throwback for each 30 teams that I'd love to see worn. This isn't necessarily the best designed throwback from their team history, but more back to an era relatable to the fans and their history. Also, in the spirit of the NBA going with more Color vs. Color match ups, I decided to go with colored jerseys, especially since the Association Edition (READ: Home Uniform) will presumably be the only white jersey in team's collections. Anyways, here is my list. I'd love to see everyone else's opinions on what throwbacks you'd like your favorite team to sport next year or near future ...
  11. This is a project I'd had in my head for a long time, and I finally decided to make it happen. My concept for the NBA to be taken outdoors for the first time in history, the NBA Blacktop Series. The BS if you will. As crazy as it sounds, I think it would be possible if done right for an NBA game to be played outside. I mean if they can do it with hockey, they can do it with roundball. The more outlandish part of the idea is a proposal for the game to be played on an actual street court, Chicago's Margaret Hie Ding Lin Park Court in this case. It would fit in well with the NBA's mindset and would be kind of like bringing players back to their roots, where it all began, on a humble street court. So below are all the facets of what I think this could/should look like. LOGO The logo for the Blacktop Series is simple and uniform, but still hanging on to some uniqueness while serving as a kind of ode to Chicago's Hie Ding Park, with the underside of the El tracks center stage on the logo and court alike. Any further games would fit this same half-circle logo template. SECONDARIES UNIFORMS The matchup for the inaugural Blacktop game is Pistons/Bulls which i think is a healthy enough rivalry, esp. city wise, to kick the series off. The jerseys are noticeably button-up which will serve as a distinct icon of outdoor b-ball. Chi-Town's uni has a black base with the colors of the city's flag as bold accent colors. The Flag Shield secondary from the event logo is the sleeve patch and the flag's four six-point stars are an accent underneath the numbers. Detroit's jersey is much more understated with the D from their new logo on the left breast and the new logo itself as a sleeve patch. Motor City silver is the base. SEATING PLAN C&C hugely appreciated as this is the biggest single project I've done yet, so I'd love to hear what you think of the first installment of the NBA Blacktop Series! Thanks guys

  13. So with the recent NBA releases,I had some ideas... and decided to translate them into concepts. Some stuff will remain intact: Nike Swoosh to stay,4 uniform format as well, although I'll increase the throwbacks to 10. Ads,however, are not welcome in this project; I don't like them (the way they are, they're merely a superflous gimmick, tbh) Teams that comprised the playoffs will go first, then everyone else based on standings. I'll alternate between the Western and Eastern conferences,Western first since the champions are from there. So,let's start with the 2016/17 champs: the Golden State Warriors The "Association" and "Icon" uniform are based off their look from the first half of the 1990s. These two feature a sublimated "bridge" graphic on the bottom left, taken from the primary logo. The slate grey "athlete's mindset" uniform has the same design, albeit printed in yellow/blue,while the yellow "community" uniform is a simplification of their current look + bit of a fauxback. Up next: I'll try to fix the broken new Cavaliers unis...
  14. Hi everyone! Not sure if you remember but I started this thread way back collecting NBA Jersey history information to make my personal database factually accurate. Now, as you may have guessed I've moved on to adding ABA jerseys in the database and I once again turn to this talented group of amateur historians for help! You can check out what I've done in the site itself: https://nbajerseydatabase.tumblr.com/tagged/aba Here are screenshots if you don't feel like clicking away: I'm open for all corrections and suggestions! Thanks for your help! All years and jersey information comes from: remembertheaba.com
  15. Hi, Here is a new project I've been working on, I've red interviews about the way they did the league, the way they've built the identities. With my informations, I wanted something to be eye popping really catchy, I've done researches and after a long journey with drawings, days with or without inspirations and tons of decisions, I come up with these designs. I'm happy to unveiled the team, the players I've picked are these I would love to see in the Big3's league. Enjoy feel free to give feedbacks. Captain Co-captain Coach
  16. I wasn't sure where to put all of these, so I figured I'd start a new thread of small little finds I found while browsing the 'net -- and specifically, right now -- Getty Images. Most of these are small oddities, difficult finds and what not. I was going to open this up to stuff I found in other sports, but basketball and NBA history in the 70s and 80s has recently captured my attention. Anyways ... some of my finds: GORGEOUS Color vs. Color in Baltimore against the Bullets and Warriors (also note it's Ladies Night!) Royals vs. Warriors game in Phoenix's Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The caption says it was a 1967 pre-season game. Note Rick Barry in the old-style Warriors' jersey. He never wore these in the regular season as 'The City' jerseys were introduced on Opening Night 1967. Larry Nance wearing #6 in the half season right after he was traded to Cleveland from Phoenix. Similarly, Kevin Johnson wore #11 in Phoenix for the half season after he was traded from Cleveland to Phoenix. Interesting font and styling of Tom McMillen's name on this Hawks' jersey. Not sure why the underline? Notice the name on the back of Dave Stallworth of the Bullets. The name was pretty long so the "st" of Stallworth is white to not clash with the blue stripe.
  17. Not sure if anyone in here has or creates logos for NBA 2K but I would like to see what everyone has. Please share your basketball logos and uniforms! Thanks!
  18. Didn't see a thread for this: http://www.nba.com/jazz/nike1718?_ga=2.241182981.688412386.1502590075-2085097014.1496195062 http://www.nba.com/jazz/news/jazz-reveal-first-two-uniforms-2017-18-season
  19. Hello! This is my first ever uniform/logo concepts I have ever done. I am a graphic designer on Instagram, and I am taking a jab at concepts for the first time. Constructive criticism and Feedback is very welcomed!
  20. After making court concepts of all the NCAA D1 schools, I decided to do the NBA G League (formerly NBA D-League) next. Obviously many of these designs couldn't currently be used due to NBAGL teams sharing arenas/courts with other teams but it's still fun to design them. I didn't get as creative as I did with the NCAA courts because the NBA/NBAGL are still generally more traditional with their designs and I still want the concepts to be realistic. I used DarthBrooks court template. I will post them in groups of 5 (except for the last group which will be 6). A few things you might notice... The more unique logos the team has the more I tried to incorporate them into the court. Many of the courts are similar to their parent team's court. I added the team's parent team logo to the upper left and lower right corners. I didn't include websites, twitter handles, hashtags, etc. on the out-of-bounds area. Delaware 87ers Erie Bayhawks Reno Bighorns Oklahoma City Blue Windy City Bulls

  22. In my opinion, the Spirits of St. Louis were by far the coolest ABA identity. The funky, orange uniforms were just as awesome as they were seventies, and their logo was fantastic as well. And so if the NBA ever expands into STL, they should definitely reboot that awesome identity. Now, personally, i would have 0 problems with them literally just copying and pasting the Spirits design from 1975 to 20--, but I'm almost positive that would never happen, so this is basically my plan B. While i was brainstorming this in my head, I realized that a basketball already has a St. Louis Arch in it. How convenient is that?! It certainly helped serve as an anchor for this project, because i knew that would be the centerpiece with some plane-related imagery to help it. So as I was experimenting with roundels and such, i realized that i could get the exact image i was going for with simply a specifically angled basketball and two simple propellers. Along with a modern take on the vintage Spirits script, I'm pretty happy with the result. I'd really love to hear some C&C on this, I'm curious to hear what you guys think! Thanks!
  23. Welcome to the New American Basketball Association. This league is for major cities that I feel like need a professional basketball team. The logos will be hand drawn. The uniforms will be from a template. These are the teams. Western Conference North Seattle Jets 1 Alaska Miners 3 Omaha Pioneers 6 St Louis Express 8 Kansas City Indians 5 South El Paso Cougars 19 San Diego Lions 20 Las Vegas Flamingos 4 Hawaii Royals 2 Albuquerque Dukes 7 Eastern Conference North Hartford Hurricanes 16 Rhode Island Snow Owls 17 Columbus Coyotes 18 Louisville Colts 14 Pittsburgh Iron Men 15 South Little Rock Wolves 9 Magnolia Copperheads (MS) 10 Charleston Sharks 12 Birmingham Magicians 11 Virginia Squires 13 And here are the logos And we will go through seasons too. Starting in 2015.
  24. Alright guys. I'm back. For a back-story. In 1950, 10 elite basketball teams throughout the Midwest joined forces to create the American Basketball League. This project is pretty much like Veras' AFA, I have already finished a draft and I'm working on getting the rosters set up. And now, here are the divisions for you. Current year: 1962 National Conference ABL West Colorado Kodiaks Kansas City Rivermen Los Angeles Stars Seattle Cascaders St. Louis Archers ABL North Chicago Redshirts Cincinnati Blues Detroit Lakers Milwaukee Stags Minnesota Oxen American Conference ABL East Boston Dragons Cleveland Bulldogs New York Patriots Philadelphia Minutemen Pittsburgh Rhinos ABL South Atlanta Gladiators Baltimore Admirals Dallas Outlaws Indianapolis Checkers Miami Marauders Titles by team: Chicago - 3 (1956, 1959, 1960) Cincinnati - 1 (1955) Columbus/Baltimore - 1 (1951) Detroit - 2 (1954, 1958) Grand Rapids/Kansas City - 1 (1952) Philadelphia - 1 (1953) Pittsburgh - 3 (1957, 1961, 1962) And, in order for me to not get another warning, here's the league logo. I had trouble coming up with a good logo, but this was the result I got. The eagle in the logo is based on the one used on those old quarters you find in your change. C&C is welcome.
