  1. This is a real uniform the Steelers play off-season basketball in. They're playing the Pitt Panthers soon...
  2. As a Spurs fan, I was completely let down when the new secondary logo was recently released. I think the new logo is way too generic and does not represent the organization at all. Even though I'm not a fan of the simplistic logo trend going around the NBA, I wanted to design my own minimalist concept for the SA Spurs that featured the iconic Alamo with the basketball.
  3. Here are some concepts I did for NBA teams for next year. I hope you like them. Hit me up with C&C. I'll try to post three a day.
  4. So while I'm currently working on my NIKE NBA series, I thought I'd take a little break and work on some NCAA concepts. These are just some alternates for some random NCAA teams I found interesting. Enjoy and please let me know how you like them! First round of three here with many more to come!
  5. Hi everyone, I came up with an idea to create the National Basketball League (NBL), a made up basketball league that could act as an alternative to the NBA, much like how the United States Football League (USFL) was to the National Football League (NFL) in the 1980's. The NBL, for example, could be played during the summer and fall. So, I am opening it up to you guys to create your own franchises for the league. The teams can be based in cities with a current NBA franchise or in new cities. There will be two divisions (like the NBA): Pacific and Atlantic. If you choose to create a team, please include a primary logo, secondary logo, home uniform (color), away uniform (white), and an alternate uniform, which is optional. Below I have attached the PNG files containing all of the league logos. If you need the logos in any other file type please let me know. For the jerseys please place the NBL jersey patch in the upper left chest. The logo can also be customized to the team's colors. If you wish to participate please comment below: Team Name: City: Arena: Divison: For example, I will be creating: Team Name: Sun Valley Sonorans (even though my team plays in Pheonix, I will be calling them the Sun Valley Sonorans, like the Golden State Warriors. City: Pheonix, AZ Arena: Wells Fargo Arena Divison: Pacific
  6. I guess it's that time again -- looking forward to the uniform and logo changes in the NBA for the upcoming 2016-17 season ... THE LAST YEAR OF ADIDAS! As has been twirling around Twitter, UniWatch and the mothership (thanks to Conrad) ... the "rumored" or "semi-confirmed" changes for 16-17 include Sacramento, Utah and Detroit. Not sure if this graphic confirms a change in the Celtics' primary logo? But, I'll post it here for speculation ...
  7. For those of you who are interested The Basketball Tournament or TBT officially released the logos for 60 of the 64 teams that have been accepted into the tournament so far.
  8. For my first ever post, I will be posting my redesigns for the current courts in the NBA. I do my work on MS Paint so please forgive me if some of my work comes out a little choppy. I do however strive to be as neat as possible with my work. Well, let's get started. First up are the Boston Celtics, a team with a timeless look is hard to redesign but I fixed a few things that I felt were amiss in their current look. The sidelines now read "Boston Celtics", (as they should), and retained is the classic parquet and the signature of legendary Celtics coach, Red Auerbach. The changes are minor but any change is significant when dealing with a team such as the Boston Celtics. Next up will be the Cleveland Cavaliers. C&C Greatly appreciated!
  9. One of the teams I see the most concepts for on the internet is the Oklahoma City Thunder, and for good reason. They have one of the best color schemes in the NBA, but never seem to utilize it to their full potential. I've had a few ideas for the Thunder floating around in my head for a while, but didn't exactly know how to implement them. I wanted to bring in some Native American themes using the Thunder's color pallete, but not go too too crazy with OKC's unique scheme. When it was announced that Nike would be outfitting the NBA next season, I set to work putting my ideas into reality. For this concept I created a custom tertiary logo for use on the shorts. It is a simple "OKC" monogram in the shape of a roundel. The background of the first version of the logo also shows off a special pattern I developed for the uniforms. Called Kiowa Sunrise, it combines Native American design elements with the OKC color scheme. This pattern is the bread and butter of the uniforms, and is also featured on the background of the first version of the logo. I wanted to keep the uniforms really simple and let the colors really speak for themselves. The uniform is simple plain white and features a blue old west style arching "Thunder" wordmark and sans serif numbers, similar to their current font. The main event really is the Kiowa sunrise elements, on the side panels of the jersey and at the bottom of the shorts. A plain white "OKC" logo is found at the bottom of the shorts. The powder blue away uniforms are the same as the homes with a few differences. White replaces the powder on the Kiowa Sunrise pattern, and a powder "OKC" logo replaces the white one on the bottom of the shorts. A white split "Oklahoma City" also replaces the "Thunder". I must admit, I went pretty out of the box with the alternate jerseys. The Kiowa Sunrise pattern is sublimated over the entire top of the black jersey, with an arched "OKC" over the number. The other big feature on these uniforms is the big logo style Kiowa Sunrise version of the OKC on the shorts. Other than that, the jersey is trimness and pretty stripped back to let the pattern talk. What do you guys think? Any constructive critism/feedback is welcomed.
  10. Hey everyone. While it's the most exciting time for Basketball fans these days, I felt an immense desire to update all NBA courts for the upcoming season. I've done like 7 courts already, but let's just start with the Pelicans.

    SBA logos

Hey everyone I recently had some free time, between doing my class projects, so for fun I whipped up some quick logos for a men's basketball league I play in back home. What do you guys think? C&C always welcome.
  12. Howdy folks! I started a concept art project for what future WNBA teams would look like should they ever exist. Although not all NBA teams have "sister" teams who share the same arena as their NBA counterparts, I've came up with some ideas for possible "sister" teams to their NBA brothers. The first one I will be sharing is Boston. I present to you, the Boston Charm, sister team to the Boston Celtics. And yes, I've designed the unis and the court. The Charm uses the same exact color scheme used by the Celtics: green and gold. It also uses the iconic shamrock in its logo and on its uniforms. I also added a second alternate uniform which is black and has "Bean Town" written across the front. I know the court is missing a few things, but I just wanted to give the general idea of what the court is expected to look like. The TD Garden logo's placement is different from the one on the Celtics court. More teams will be coming soon and I hope to submit my ideas to the WNBA when they're ready to expand. Also, I'll be doing new concepts for the defunct teams from the early 2000s. I would gladly appreciate any and all feedback. Ask yourself; what do you think about the team name, the court, the uniforms, the idea in general?
  13. Something that I randomly thought of the other day as I was listening to sports radio. The host kept mentioning the "Bullets" when talking about the then-upcoming Game 3 between the Celtics and Wizards and it made wonder if he was doing it intentionally because he hates the name Wizards, or if because the Wizards are playing Bullets dress up. My mind wandered to the logo of the Bullets before the name change how it went from an actual bullet through a basketball to....well this: and I wondered about other logos that showcase nothing about the nickname but instead focused on the sport in some form or another. Some that came to mind were: Any other ones you can think of that seem more to advertise the sport itself rather than the team?
  14. While recently brainstorming on how to improve the Clips horrendous rebrand, i came up with this idea for a simple clipper ship logo with LAC worked into the sails. C&C appreciated!
  15. So I started to make an AeroSwift template when it was unveiled, and I didn't have enough resources to complete it at the time, so I moved on, worked on other things and now, in the the biggest basketball month of the year, I finally have a template. It will be an .ai file and I'm still debating on a release right away. But in the meantime, and to make sure that I worked out all the bugs, I decided to roll in a Sweet 16 concept thread with it. First things first, here's the template. And starting off the concepts is the Wisconsin/Florida matchup: Wisconsin's newish look doesn't change a whole lot with the move to the template. Biggest difference is the leg stripes wrap around the legs this time. So I do not like Florida's current uniforms, the panel design just isn't doing it for me, so I mixed the HyperElite Disruption uniforms with the sublimated gator pattern, and the stripe pattern from the 2013 uniforms and you get the above result. I know I'm a day late dollar short for the whole set of games, but I still plan on getting through them all to the finals. C&C welcome!!
  16. Updated 3/31: Elite 8 Complete/Final Four Set Elite 8 Complete/Final Four Set: First Four: On Off Sweet 16 Complete: First Four On First Four Off Round of 32 Complete: First Four On First Four Off Round of 64 Complete: First Four On First Four Off First Four Round of 64 with First Four off Release (3840x2160) A new year, a new theme and look. Info after the photo. - A clean look, optimized for larger, hopefully easier to read school/team name and overall record text. - Tournament Title in white and black trim, with an orange shadow - Round of 64 teams will have smaller logos than in last years first round. In addition, Round of 64 team records will be replaced with that Team's game score. - Round of 32 through the Elite Eight features a slightly smaller pod, but a more vertical logo. Above the divider will be the school name, and below will be the Team's game score. - Round of 32 through the Elite Eight orange end caps will be changed to the team's color once they advance. - The Final Four, black team pod with orange gradient trim. - National Championship matchup features black team pods with gold gradient trim. Note: The "First Games" are at the bottom center of the bracket, but may be covered by a app dock or other apps. I've turned on dock hiding and that fixes the issue. But once the First Four is complete, I'll remove the first four pods for a cleaner bracket. C&C: I thought about lightening the background, as it's a little darker here than I anticipated, then again it might just be the perfectionist in me.
  17. What do you think are the worst uniforms for each NBA team? Here are my choices ...
  18. I teased this series in my Bucks modernization concept, but now the series is ready to go. I've plotted out a redesign of the NBA, with the intended goal of breaking up the monotony of most of the league's looks by placing its aesthetics between 70's/80's tradition and 90's crazy. These concepts also buck with current trends in the league, going back to the pre-Rev30 material (allowing for proper twill lettering, pinstripes, split numbers, and effects on the fabric) and having college lines on the courts (as I feel they add more color to the key). Also, a big thank you to Conrad for his NBA Font collection, as without it this project would have been impossible. Completed teams: Atlanta Hawks Boston Celtics Brooklyn Nets Charlotte Hornets (V2) (V3) Chicago Bulls Cleveland Cavaliers Dallas Mavericks (V2) Denver Nuggets (Court V2) (V2) Detroit Pistons (Road V2) Houston Rockets (V1.5) (V2) (V3) Indiana Pacers Kansas City Diesels (Alt V2) Los Angeles Clippers (V2) Los Angeles Lakers Memphis Grizzlies Miami Heat (V2) (V3) (V3.5) Milwaukee Bucks (Alt V2) (V2) Minnesota Timberwolves (V2) New Orleans Pelicans New York Knicks (V2) Oklahoma City Thunder (V2) (V3) Orlando Magic (V2A) (V2B) (V3) Philadelphia 76ers (V2) (V3) Phoenix Suns (V2) Portland Trail Blazers Sacramento Kings (Road V2) San Antonio Spurs San Francisco Warriors (V2) Seattle Supersonics (V2) Toronto Raptors (Alt V2) Utah Jazz (V2) (V3) Washington Federals Division Alignment and Design Compilations So, without any further delay, here's the first team in the league, the Atlanta Hawks! ATLANTA HAWKS When the Atlanta Hawks released their new secondary logo, I immediately leaped on the idea of a fauxback/neo-retro look for them (much like what I wish the Falcons would do). I started out by going back to the red and yellow color scheme, as red solo looked far too plain and black really cluttered up the look (also, I believe that any team that added black in the 90's when they did not have black before should remove all black from their color scheme, i.e. Calgary Flames, Cincinnati Reds, 1998-2011 New York Mets, etc.). So, I simply placed a yellow outline on the new secondary, adjusted the 2003 All-Star Game alternate logo to be the new secondary, and removed the beveling from the "ATL" logo. The court is a retro-styled look, with the new pac-hawk logo at center court, yellow detailing along with the red paint, and the retro Hawk within the 3-point line. Uniforms While I do appreciate the 'Nique-era look, I was not enough of a fan to bring it back full time. So, I decided to hybrid their late-70's look with their early 2000's look. I maintained the current lettering and number font, as it is my favorite part of their current look. Crew neck collars return, as they enhance the retro feel and the Hawks used them up until the Rev30 was introduced. The result is a fusion of classic sensibilities with some modern touches. The first alternate is a yellow alt based on this look (which was easy to recreate, thanks to Conrad's "Highlight Factory" font) that also justifies using the "ATL" script (because of the size issues related to the striping pattern), and the second is a throwback to the 'Nique era (they were too iconic to leave out of the redesign). Up next, the Boston Celtics!
  19. I know it is a little late to be starting up a college basketball concept, but I finally made a basketball template that I like. The template is based off of the Nike Aeroswift template which is currently used by many Nike teams, and I added a U-Neck version of it similar to what Michigan and Duke use. I will be making a set of 4 jerseys for each team that I do. I have already done a few teams, so I will start with Auburn. Jerseys -Text is similar to the Charles Barkley era and what they currently wear, leaving the copperplate gothic era behind. -Trim is similar to what they used to wear, but I wanted to change it up a little bit. -For the orange jersey, I'm not sure whether it would look better with blue and white switched or not. Pants -Stripe is similar to the one on their football helmet, with the logo on it towards the bottom.
  20. What uniforms do you think are each NBA team's best look? Here are mine ...
  21. Selection Sunday is a couple of weeks away and Nike and Adidas usually release new uniforms for a couple of teams. If your team is a lock for the Tourney, then expect a concept to be made for them. These are the teams that I'll be doing. Nike Gonzaga Arizona Villanova Duke Kentucky Florida North Carolina Oregon West Virginia Virginia Purdue Adidas Kansas UCLA Louisville Wisconsin Here are my Kansas Jayhawks
  22. I have been watching this site and/or any number of others for some time, and I have come up with some proposed all-time teams and/or team names for various teams in various sports. In this thread, I will mainly start off with all-time teams, and describe the aforementioned sports universe here. Before I get started, however, I must also say that I may have seen certain names for possibly fictional teams all over the Internet that may have been made up by others, and if I happen to have borrowed some from any of you, I may have gathered them unconsciously, or forgotten where I got them from over the years. If I have done so unknowingly with any of your known team names, please keep that in mind. At least partly due to my Asperger's Syndrome, I am also rather forgetful at times, unfortunately, so please forgive me if I don't remember where I may have seen or gathered the names from, and state where I may have done so, at times. Okay, time to get started, folks. I will start with baseball teams and/or leagues first, whether such teams and leagues are real or not. And I will, at least at first, mix players from various eras of franchise histories, and some players may be assigned to certain franchises other than their own main real-world ones for various reasons, including possibly their main teams having no available roster slots for players on their all-time teams, for instance, More about this sports universe will be revealed as time passes, if and when possible. I will welcome opinions about my picks of players and coaches/managers for said teams, et cetera, as long as they are respectful, courteous, civil, constructive, non-threatening, and non-profane, et cetera. But I will not consider any opinions that are not those things, if I don't have to, either in relation to this post/thread I'm making now or any others. I welcome your suggestions, as well, if they meet the above criteria as well. And I can certainly take justified criticism and well-founded correction, I'm sure. The first team I will reveal my envisioning of an all-time roster for, folks, is the Boston Red Sox, from a version of the American League in my sports universe. I will try to go alphabetically by teams in leagues, when possible, as I reveal my hypothetical all-time teams for various franchises, et cetera. for that matter. Please feel free to give your opinions of my picks for players, et cetera, as you wish, then, as requested. But please remember to keep them as appropriate and as clean, et cetera, as possible, folks. Boston Red Sox (Managed by Joe Cronin): OF Ted WIlliams OF-1B Carl Yastrzemski 3B Wade Boggs OF Dwight Evans OF Jim Rice 2B Bobby Doerr SS-3B-2B Johnny Pesky SS Nomar Garciaparra P Cy Young P Roger Clemens C Carlton Fisk P Luis Tiant P Tim Wakefield P Pedro Martinez 1B David Ortiz 2B Dustin Pedroia C Jason Varitek 3B Frank Malzone 1B Mo Vaughn OF Dom DiMaggio P Bob Stanley P Jonathan Papelbon P Mike Timlin P Derek Lowe P Ellis Kinder In this universe, there is also no DH present, for instance, unless otherwise stated, when it comes to baseball or softball, so the pitchers WILL BAT except where I say otherwise. Many of the classic teams will not be able to have all their best players on their rosters, especially with teams like the Yankees, due to the stated roster limit of 25 players. Although I may decide later to add enough players for a 40-man roster per applicable baseball team. I had at least some difficulty picking players for this roster, and with other rosters as well, for reasons including not enough space for certain playing positions on said roster, of course. But I still tried to pick the best possible ones for this roster and certain others, just the same. That is all for now, I think, from this Turtle Pilgrim. I will post at least one of my ideas about a possibly suitable Chicago White Sox all-time roster later, possibly as early as Saturday, if not sooner, I think. Depends on how quickly I can manage it, and depends on how many responses this post/thread gets, at least, most likely. Turtle Pilgrim out. P.S. Unless otherwise stated, certain teams will stay in their classic locations, and I have not yet decided when this universe's starting year is, or starting years are, for various leagues, et cetera. I would welcome any number of well-thought-out suggestions, however, I believe, regarding such, folks. Turtle Pilgrim out. P.P.S. The image you have probably all been waiting for is here: I do not yet know how many of these uniforms I will be able to do without help, though, unfortunately. For the away version of this, imagine the pants and jersey parts, except for the stripes, are gray where you see white, at least for the main areas of the uniform. The font is Augusta. I will not likely be able to do an away version of this uniform, seeing as the image in question was saved on my computer as a JPG file, and then uploaded to DeviantArt as such. So you will probably have to imagine it in your minds, based on this. I got colors from Colorwerx as well, in terms of the RGB numbers, at least, folks. Hope you like this try here, still, though. If anyone might want to help me out here, in terms of creating the artistic renditions of uniforms for teams I will mention, please let me know, and I will see what happens. I can certainly try to do the writing part as best as I can, and then we'll see how things go, on the artistic side, whether I do other uniforms or not as well. Turtle Pilgrim out.
  23. This is the United Basketball Association. The UBA is comprised of 5 different independent basketball leagues that merged together to form one large league. Each league became its own division. Northeast Basketball League was founded in 1960
  24. Working on a 1983 themed March Madness bracket and I'm finding these Gonzaga logos without years. Which one do you think they used then? I've gone through online yearbooks without success and I believe the current bulldog head logo appeared in '98. Thank you.
