  1. In an effort to get the creative juices flowing a little better I'm tackling a project through the month of May. 31 days, 31 NBA concepts. First up, the Hawks... Atlanta Hawks - Volt-ernate My take on what other have proposed previously, and something that seems like an inevitability - a Volt-based alternate for the Hawks. I've restricted the triangular pattern to the side panels, as it's all-over application is the only thing I really dislike about the Hawks' current uniform set.
  2. NBL appoints new Official Apparel Partner It's a really interesting move from the National Basketball League Basketball is massively popular in Australia, but the NBL markets itself really poorly and as such, it's largely ignored by fans who just follow the NBA. I've always believed that cheap looking, primarily sublimated uniforms over the past 20 years have been a big contributor to the NBL being ignored, with NBA jerseys being worn all over the place. Hopefully Mitchell and Ness can give the league a bit more a traditional, authentic look. I'm not aware of them sponsoring a league or a team, so it will be interesting to see their take on it. You'd assume they'd want to maintain their throwback aesthetic, which could be absolutely wonderful news for Australian basketball fans.

  4. With the news of the warriors possibly adding an Oakland tribute uniform in the future, I decided to create my own. I tried to make a bit of a combination of the city uniform and the current ones. I just want to say that I despise copperplate, but its the font the warriors unfortunately use, so it's the font I used. oakland flag included for reference.

I will be doing custom Avatars and Backgrounds (wallpapers) upon request. I have 2 test images below. The first being my favourite Soccer teams AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspurs with my favourite players Daniele De Rossi and Harry Kane. That one is an Avatar or Profile Picture. This is a Background and Wallpaper. So to get a custom one comment what teams and players you want. It can be any sport, team or player. 10. With rumors that the Detroit Pistons might go to a logo that is very similar to their primary that was used from 1979 to 1996, I decided to remake the entire league in this fashion. There have been a lot of rules applied to NBA teams and their primary logos that, I think, eliminates a lot of creativity. So here is my "templated" NBA using each team's first two primary colors. Although, in the end, I found that one or two teams actually do look better with this generic basketball (anything would improve the Thunder).
  11. So I've been making logos for a while, but I never really took the time out to try a uniform concept before. After seeing the work of the NFL/NBA mashups from before, I was inspired to do something similar. At the time, the Kings seemed like a great way to start. If this went well, I was thinking about attempting a uniform for the St. Louis Blues, or go the opposite route and make a sweater for the Lakers. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
  12. I guess it's that time again -- looking forward to the uniform and logo changes in the NBA for the upcoming 2016-17 season ... THE LAST YEAR OF ADIDAS! As has been twirling around Twitter, UniWatch and the mothership (thanks to Conrad) ... the "rumored" or "semi-confirmed" changes for 16-17 include Sacramento, Utah and Detroit. Not sure if this graphic confirms a change in the Celtics' primary logo? But, I'll post it here for speculation ...
  13. Hey everyone. My latest side project I created a redesign concept of Wamego High School located in Wamego Kansas. I am currently student teaching at the high school and this project stemmed from me trying to find a shirt in town that I could wear so that I would represent the school come baseball season where I will be an assistant coach. But the more shirts I found, the more I really did not like their current raider logo. It looked like the design was trying to hard to combine the powercat logo of the near by Kansas State University with an Indian logo. Some kids in the school nicknamed their current logo the "frankenraider."So I wanted to create my own raider logo and shirt to use for the baseball season and the rest of the redesign snowballed after. For this concept, I took their current raider logo and gave it a modern update complete with smoother and bolder lines. I dropped the powercat look from it and gave the face and feathers shadow highlights to give it more depth. From there I also updated the W logo to match the new raider head and created a universal wordmark that athletics, academics, and community programs can use to create better cohesion with the high school's imagery in the local community. I will start off by posting the two logo updates, then wordmarks and uniforms of the 4 major sports will follow. If you would like to see my whole presentation, you can click on this like to view it on my behance page:
  14. Hello, Allow me to introduce myself first, my name is Matt. I know i've been pretty silent with posting comments, critiques, questions, etc. but I hope to be more vocal, and hope to get some critiques from all of you in hopes that it will help me become a better designer. You have all helped me with designs, and I want to return the favor. So, after months of designing and coming up with many concepts, i'd like to show to you all my concepts for redesigning the NBA. I have included: - New Conference logos - New Playoff and Finals logos - New logos for all 30 NBA teams All NBA logos that I redesigned are originals, except a few you will see are ones where I made alterations that I feel would make the primary marks stronger. I hope that you will take a look and give me any feedback on how I can improve on these designs. I'd love to hear from you on what your Top 5 and Bottom 5 logos are as well. If you have any questions, comments, etc. please shoot me a message. Thanks everyone, Matt My Portfolio work ( If that link doesn't work, you can go to my personal website: )
  15. I was playing around with Greek mythology and thought about making teams off of their symbols (e.g. Athena Owls, Zeus Eagles) and decided to go with Bulls for Poseidon. Since he's my favorite, I made them first. After a while I decided to shove that off and use the logo for a Bulls golden anniversary rebrand. Non-Behance bonus:
  16. Hello! This is my personal redesign of the Seattle Supersonics. As always feel free to critique and I will answer questions when I can. As a note, for all intents and purposes, the work posted here is complete. The rest of the branding and other things will be on my Behance portfolio sometime soon. Enjoy!
  17. Cheerleaders don't get a lot of attention on this site so I thought I'd make a thread dedicated to pro and college cheerleading squad logos. After doing some research on this, I stumbled upon many logos I've never seen before and many of them are great examples of the graphic design styles that were popular the year they were designed. "Pro" mostly means NFL, NBA, and NHL cheerleaders, as well as any additional dance teams, but if you find any logos for WFL, USFL, XFL, CBA, WNBA, WHA, modern day hockey minor leagues, etc, cheerleading squads by all means post them too. "College" means the cheerleading squads and dance teams that perform at NCAA football and basketball games. One thing that is common with cheerleading squads is they tend to have goofy names, often a pun off the pro or college team they are cheering for. I will make sure to point out the best examples below. In my opinion what makes these logos interesting is more often than not they borrow the colors and certain design elements from the team the cheerleaders are cheering for. So even if you didn't know the name of the squad you could still guess what team they belong to based on the colors and design of their logo. Feel free to add pics of cheerleading squad logos to this thread as you find them! I'm starting with the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders because I found 10 different variations of their logo since the 70's and 10 pics is the limit for posts. Here we go: 1966–1977 Dolphin Dolls1978–1983 Dolphins Starbrites1984–present Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders And last butt not least: what looks like a Victoria's Secret model wearing some kind of outfit featuring their logo:
  18. Don't know if it's been posted yet, I was watching the Pirates game and saw they finally unveiled it, there are some ups and downs, I think. I'm not sure if it's an upgrade or not
  19. Hello all! I am starting an NBA Rebrand Series and hope to do all 30 teams. Here's my first, the Suns. Home: Away: Home Alt: Away Alt:
  20. Logo Concept - Boston Celtics The Boston Celtics have a pretty timeless logo so for an update I couldn’t do anything too crazy. I mostly made the line widths a little more even, made the lettering better spaced on the outer circle. The biggest changes are to the Celtic’s vest and tie which is no longer gold and/or carrying an unnecessary number of clovers all over it.
  21. I currently attend Norton High School, the public high school in my hometown of Norton, MA. They have a fairly good athletics program as they've won 10 state championships over the last 10 years in many sports. Most recently the soccer team, which won the D3 state title last weekend. The school's teams compete in the 3rd Division of the MIAA. The basketball program has been very good over the last decade. They have made the playoffs 8 years in a row and last year they went to the sectional finals for the 1st time since 1989. Although the team has been very good, their jerseys have looked okay at best. Here is their current home jersey for reference (pictured in white). The away jersey is just a recolored version of the home jersey with the purple and white being flipped, and a "NORTON" word mark across the front. So without further ado here is my rendition of their uniforms! A big thanks goes out to Raysox for the amazing template and Conrad for the excellent fonts. The first thing off the bat I wanted to change up was the script. The current word mark in my opinion is too modern to use on a simple basketball jersey. I used a simple block font for the scripts which go along nicely with the design and numbers. The home jersey features the "LANCERS" word mark on a white jersey. For the primary set I used the Golden State Warriors current jersey as the inspiration. It has 2 stripes running down each side of the jersey with a purple neck and cuffs. The shorts continue on the stripes on each side along with the Nike and MIAA logo on. The away jersey is a recolored version of the home jersey with the purple and white being flipped. It also features the "NORTON" script in black with a white outline. The pants are also the same as away, the only difference is the purple and white are flipped. Then there is the alternate jersey. I wanted something different from the set, and something that would stand out. So I gave them a purple pinstriped alternate jersey. It features a white jerseys with purple pinstripes on the front and back. It features the "NORTON" word mark in purple, black, and white. The shorts have a single stripe going down the side with a purple waistband. As something I love doing with any of my concepts I also made a new version of their home court, Lawrence Laraque Gymnasium. At center court it has their current logo. It features their Twitter handle, @NHSAthletics on one side of the court and a hashtag I made up for the team #lancernation on the other side. It has "NORTON" and "LANCERS" on the opposite baselines. Enjoy and C+C is appreciated as always!
  22. What's up everyone! I'm coming with a logo concept today for a Brazilian team that plays the NBB (Novo Basquete Brasil) which is the major Brazilian Basketball League. Here the teams are professional but aren't managed by really professional people instead of spending money on marketing and stuff they'd rather hire some players, specially foreigners. To start some concepts with the teams here I choosed Mogi das Cruzes for 3 reasons: - The team is neat, one of the best here and some players are National Team Level. (They had some players that played on NCAA like Shamell Stallworth (San Francisco State), Tyrone Curnell (Valdosta), Gerson Espirito Santo (Colorado State) and Larry Taylor (Missouri Western State), also one of the centers Paulo Prestes was even drafted by Minnesotta Timberwolves couple years ago. Rafael "Bábby" Araujo - somebody remember him on NBA? - played there too) - Their logo sucks - They will host the next NBB's All-Star Game. So, to start this is their awful current logo: Doesn't make sense now that they're using a shade of purple on the uniforms. After a small research I found out that their mascot is a Jaguatirica a very common feline that lives mainly on Brazilian and Argentinian forests. Is not a big predator here but just like any wild animal we should respect, right? This is my redesign: C&C is always appreciated, I'm here to learn!
  23. I really enjoyed the Logolympiad, it was so much fun to create logos of so many different types and uses. Now I've decided to post all my entries in this thread to receive some C/C. I've learnt a lot from all the amazing entries of the contest, especially if you think that my first entry was my first logo ever. Event 1 For the first LOGOLYMPIAD event this year, you must create an alternate logo for an active team from the National Basketball Association. The logo should be strong enough so that it could replace the current primary logo for the team. Use colors that are already part of the teams current color scheme. You can check colors on the Colorwerx website or on theTeamColors website. Do NOT add any more colors.Include the current primary logo in your submission as a reference. The primary logo should not take more than 150px by 150px on the template, as it is not the focus of the work here.I've decided to go with Las Angeles Clippers and with what the Clippers name says to me: sailing ships! the big C is similar to the current one but the LA logo should be seen as the sail of the the black ship. A thing I personally don't really like of this logo is that is not related to basketball, but as you know not all the sports logos have inside something referring to the sport they are representing, so I've decided not to add a basketball somewhere just not to overload the logo. I will continue with all the other entries...
  24. When I was in my early teens, my parents bought me NCAA Football 98 for the computer. I really enjoyed the game, and it was very well-designed for the most part: 100+ schools; full-season play with rankings, major bowl games, and major awards; school fight songs; decent playbooks; something approximating logos on the helmets. It was a very good game for the late 1990s---not as good as the Football Pro series overall, but distinctly collegiate and lots of fun. Anyway, despite the overall quality, there were two details that I have since learned were wrong. One, LSU by default wears yellow jerseys over white pants at home in that game. Two, Missouri's colors are green and gold in the game instead of black and gold. (Come to think of it, I think the latter was also the case in that college hoops game for the Super Nintendo even earlier.) I was wondering: have you guys and gals noticed any similar errors in other games? (Incidentally, Football Pro 98 has the Eagles wearing kelly-green-and-gray even though they were in their second season with their current and inferior color scheme.)
  25. The Chicago Bulls announced today that the team has been granted the right to own and operate an NBA D-League club that will begin play in the 2016-17 season. The new team will play its home games at Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, IL. The team is running a "Name-The-Team" contest, with an interesting caveat– all team name suggestions must end in “Bulls”.
