  1. Hi take a look on my last work hope you'll enjoy it....
  2. I mainly tried making these based off city edition jerseys or just making a new standard court. I use a lot of wood stain because that’s just my style and it seems to be the trend nowadays. Suggestions and ideas are welcomed. Houston Rockets Golden State Warriors Oklahoma City Thunder Oklahoma City Thunder v2 Minnesota Timberwolves Charlotte Hornets LA Clippers Dallas Mavericks New Orleans Pelicans
  3. After my hockey project crashed and burned, I think I've found something that will stick. This time, I proudly present the Continental Basketball League. To make a long story short, the league was founded in 1938 by prominent Boston businessman George Finlay to capitalize on the growing popularity of basketball on college campuses throughout the nation. In the beginning the league had only six teams, situated in the northeastern part of the US, but the league name suggested that Finlay had much greater aspirations for the league. At this time, the CBL doesn't have a logo, but if I must create one, I will. This time around, I have a preliminary jersey and logo ready. I'll be revealing each inaugural team one at a time. First up is George Finlay's team: the Boston Redcoats! The team logo very simply uses two crossed muskets in the team color, which more or less matches the red color worn by the British Army during the occupation of Boston: And here is the uniform the Redcoats take to the hardwood with. All the teams at this time use only one jersey: As I said before, both the logo and uniform are preliminary. While I am mostly happy with the uniform, the one thing that bugs me is that the collar is v-neck, which did not exist at this time. I am quite a beginner where graphic design is concerned so I wouldn't know how to change it. Also, I would like to add piping on the arm holes (is that what they're called?) and the collar that was prevalent at the time but don't how to do that either. Any and all C&C is greatly appreciated and encouraged.
  4. Hi guys! I dont know where to start to be honest so I will keep it short. First of I must tell you that my concepts would not be possible without @Hoopladawg87! He has given me much thought and guidance throughout the creative processes which resulted into this. I can't thank you enough, Hoopla One thing you guys will probably notice that my template is basically a cheap copy of his, which it really is, and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all! So with my limited skills and an eye to detail severely lacking, I tried to make my template like his with the hopes that it would give the concepts a heightened sense of realism. As this is my first post on this great forum it felt only natural to present my favourite team, arguably the greatest team in the NBA - the Boston Celtics. The Boston Celtics home and away uniforms, now named association and icon, are timeless. Clean, classic and one of the most recognizable in sports. Ever since I saw the St. Patricks uniform I could never shake the feeling that gold is such a beautiful complementary colour to the kelly green and white. I made several renditions but I felt the gold trim was too much, too invasive and bordering on sacrilege. The route, or solution, was to change the Nike logo and players name on the back to gold. A minor change, almost unrecognizable but I feel it is in tune with Nike's minimalistic direction. All comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated! This is the big one. I've had the bits and pieces of this one working for two and half years and I finally feel ready enough to get this one out to the public. This project began when I wondered one day what would happen if Nike did something ludicrous and somehow managed to get apparel rights to every single FBS level team. Of course this is seemingly impossible in the real world, but it was fun to think about. Then I took it one step further. Not only would get every FBS football team, but if every FBS football team also had a Division 1 basketball, baseball and hockey team for Nike to get their hands on. So the goal here is one, to actually finish this idea, but more than that, is to see if I can create a unique identity for 130 some teams across 4 different sports. This means that some traditional looks will be changed slightly and some might change drastically. Nevertheless, I'm excited to get this off the ground and share it with you guys. Teams will be posted as I get them done and will be done in a random order I have created with some help from the internet and first up is the Ohio Bobcats of the MAC: (I also will create one of these cool team headers for every team). Ohio's sports have a rather laid back and simplistic look to them. Even with adidas/Russell at the helm of their apparel, they don't have too crazy of a look and I kept that in mind as I designed their uniforms for this. Keeping that in mind, I left their football uniforms pretty much the same as they have been the last couple years. Biggest change here is the addition of real pants stripes as opposed to no stripes or very short stripes. I limited black to an alternate set that would hopefully be worn separately, but in the current state of college football we all know that wouldn't happen. The hockey uniforms are very similar to how the football uniforms go. I did consider shoulder logos for them but I didn't keep them, as it just didn't feel right to me. Baseball uniforms again are very simple and consistent with the rest of the uniforms. Biggest thing here and across the board is that there is no longer a "grey away" designation. Unless a team has grey in their set, I won't be giving a team a grey uniform for baseball. Basketball is consistent with the rest. I didn't want to go full Celtics with Ohio, so the double stripe pattern is on the shoulders and the collar trim is a solid color. On the shorts the waistband is striped and the hem is a solid color. C&C is welcome as always. Given the larger nature of this thread, I'll try and get the next team up as soon as I can.
  6. When I was in my early teens, my parents bought me NCAA Football 98 for the computer. I really enjoyed the game, and it was very well-designed for the most part: 100+ schools; full-season play with rankings, major bowl games, and major awards; school fight songs; decent playbooks; something approximating logos on the helmets. It was a very good game for the late 1990s---not as good as the Football Pro series overall, but distinctly collegiate and lots of fun. Anyway, despite the overall quality, there were two details that I have since learned were wrong. One, LSU by default wears yellow jerseys over white pants at home in that game. Two, Missouri's colors are green and gold in the game instead of black and gold. (Come to think of it, I think the latter was also the case in that college hoops game for the Super Nintendo even earlier.) I was wondering: have you guys and gals noticed any similar errors in other games? (Incidentally, Football Pro 98 has the Eagles wearing kelly-green-and-gray even though they were in their second season with their current and inferior color scheme.)
  7. Hello! I've decide to do a personal rebrand of the LA Clippers. Funny how this team is how I started on this forum... anyways, feel free to critique while i show off my stuff. I'll be adding some more stuff in the coming weeks along with some more info about the designs. This is the association (light) jersey. The back is to "simulate" a Foxhound fur pattern of sorts. This is the Icon (dark) jersey. This is the Statement (Alternate no.1) Jersey. And these are the City (Alternate no.2) Jerseys. Enjoy!
  8. Nike released their World Cup uniforms, and they are all on the same template, except for the US and China, which are on a different template with a hilariously bad Nikespeak explanation. The US one might be their worst ever, even worse than 2014. With a red/white/blue color scheme it’s probably not a good idea to use a design close to the Wizards, so of course they just ditched the red https://news.nike.com/news/nike-and-jordan-brand-basketball-federation-uniforms-china-2019
  9. Here are my NCAA D1 basketball court concepts using DarthBrooks template. Some of the courts might be boring/traditional and some might be considered a little extreme. I have been working on these on and off for over a year and have around half the teams done. I will be posting them in alphabetical order by conference (A-10 first, WCC last). Just because I made a concept for a team doesn't mean I don't like their current court. A few things you might notice... I am a fan of two-tone courts when used by the right team (I wouldn't have two-tones with traditional schools like Indiana, Duke, UCLA, etc.). The more unique logos the school has the more I tried to incorporate them into the court. Once in a while I might use a logo in a way it wasn't intended (ex. Marquette eagle logo used on court). Some of the conference logos might be a year or 2 out of date (A-10, ACC, Big 12). I didn't include websites, twitter handles, hashtags, etc. (except for one;TCU) on the out-of-bounds area. I probably only looked up 10% of the team's current court so some might be very similar to their current court on accident. Here are links to all the posts of the courts... A-10 (1st half below, 2nd half); ACC (1st half, 2nd half); America East (1st half, 2nd half); American (1st half, 2nd half); Atlantic Sun (1st half, 2nd half); B1G (1st half, 2nd half); Big 12 (1st half, 2nd half); Big East (1st half, 2nd half); Big Sky (1st half, 2nd half); Big South (1st half, 2nd half); Big West (1st half, 2nd half); UPDATES Round 1 (1st half, 2nd half, extra); CAA (1st half, 2nd half); C-USA (1st half, 2nd half); Horizon (1st half, 2nd half); Ivy League (1st half, 2nd half); UPDATES Round 2; MAAC (1st half, 2nd half); MAC (1st half, 2nd half); MEAC (1st half, 2nd half); Missouri Valley (1st half, 2nd half); Mt West (1st half, 2nd half); NEC (1st half, 2nd half); UPDATES Round 3 (1st half, 2nd half); Ohio Valley (1st half, 2nd half); PAC-12 (1st half, 2nd half); Patriot League (1st half, 2nd half); SEC (1st half, 2nd half); Southern (1st half, 2nd half); Southland (1st half, 2nd half); Summit League (1st half, 2nd half); Sun Belt (1st half, 2nd half); SWAC (1st half, 2nd half); WAC (1st half, 2nd half); UPDATES Round 4; WCC (1st half, 2nd half); Conference Tourney Courts (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4); UPDATES Round 5; A-10 (1st half) Davidson Wildcats Dayton Flyers Duquesne Dukes Fordham Rams George Mason Patriots George Washington Colonials LaSalle Explorers
  10. So Ice Cube's traveling 3 on 3 basketball league is still up and running. Not only that, but it's expanding from 8 teams to 12. They've announced a new team each Friday for the last 3 weeks. So far they've announced the Triplets, Aliens and Bivouac with a final team to likely be announced next Friday. s I've always wanted to see a sports team use Aliens for it's theme/branding, but not necessarily use the name Aliens. Maybe go with Invaders or Martians, but that's just me. I believe there's a lot of potential with Ant themed branding (insects in general are underused in sports). The logo they went with is solid IMO. The name though.... yeesh! Can't help but think Fire Ants or Colony would have been better names than Bivouac. Everybody that saw this post on social media had to look up the meaning of it. Keep it simple Cube lol A little corny how many of the teams in this league feature 3 in it's name in some form. With that said, Triplets is okay to me.
  11. I guess we're starting to look forward to the 2018-19 season with the recent news of the Charlotte Hornets wearing the white version of their classic throwbacks next year. Just on a side note, it'll be interesting to see if the Hornets follow that up in 2019-20 with their purple throwback jerseys? Obviously that's just speculation. As far as other changes at this point, I am not sure if we've heard anything else. I would assume more teams will wear classic throwbacks and we'll see a new wave of community jerseys since apparently those will be a yearly change for some if not all teams?
  12. *The template I use is not mine. All credit goes to DarthBrooks for the template.* This is a concept of me posting about NCAA courts that I recreate, and are not real. These are fictional designs, and I am looking to make quality content, as well as get feedback to improve. 13. It's soon to be a new day and age here in Dallas. We are rapidly approaching the end of the Dirk era and last season was the worst season for the Mavericks in 20 years. After a period that included 12 straight playoff appearances, 2 Southwest Titles, 2 Conference Championships and finally hoisting the Larry O' Brien with some revenge over the Miami Heat, it's time for the rebuild (whether Mark Cuban is willing to be fined to be so upfront about admitting it or not) With a new core of Dennis Smith, Jr , Harrison Barnes and Luka Dončić setting up the future for the Mavericks, now is a perfect time for the Dallas Mavericks to rebrand for the next chapter in our franchise's history The primary logo keeps the horse iconography but the horse is now holding his head high. This fixes the issue of the "emo horse" look for the current primary and distinguishes the team from other horse logos that are either charging forward (Denver Broncos) or have their head down midbuck (Boise State / 90s Detroit Pistons) The off center roundel wordmarking for the primary was inspired by the Boston Celtics and was done to give the primary logo a feeling of motion. Green returns as the primary color for the team at a slightly brighter green than from their inaugural season. The Navy used is the same shade as the current. The font, Melma Black, was chosen for its balance between solid shapes and slight western feeling. While I was tempted to modify the old M-hat logo, I wanted the secondary to use a capital D. The logo is inspired by 47Brand's hat which is too strong of a look to be left as an unofficial logo any longer. The new Association uniform brings the wordmark bold and out front. The Icon Uniform returns the Mavericks to a Green base team to unify them with their co-tenants at the AAC. Additionally using green as their primary dark uniform helps distinguish them from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The side striping takes inspiration from the logo of the jersey sponsor, American Airlines. Our current city uniform has "DAL" out front which is a name we never refer to ourselves by unless you're talking about Love Field. Of course, for obvious reasons, you can't put "Big D" in front of a NBA uniform. To compromise you have a modified version of the secondary logo alluding to this nickname. The striping for the logo and numbers take inspiration from the green neon lights in Downtown Dallas against the night sky. CC welcome
  14. I am using this site to post my college basketball court concepts hope you enjoy them. Any requests or feedback would be greatly appreciated. The template I am using is made by darthbrooks.
  15. I wasn't sure where to put all of these, so I figured I'd start a new thread of small little finds I found while browsing the 'net -- and specifically, right now -- Getty Images. Most of these are small oddities, difficult finds and what not. I was going to open this up to stuff I found in other sports, but basketball and NBA history in the 70s and 80s has recently captured my attention. Anyways ... some of my finds: GORGEOUS Color vs. Color in Baltimore against the Bullets and Warriors (also note it's Ladies Night!) Royals vs. Warriors game in Phoenix's Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The caption says it was a 1967 pre-season game. Note Rick Barry in the old-style Warriors' jersey. He never wore these in the regular season as 'The City' jerseys were introduced on Opening Night 1967. Larry Nance wearing #6 in the half season right after he was traded to Cleveland from Phoenix. Similarly, Kevin Johnson wore #11 in Phoenix for the half season after he was traded from Cleveland to Phoenix. Interesting font and styling of Tom McMillen's name on this Hawks' jersey. Not sure why the underline? Notice the name on the back of Dave Stallworth of the Bullets. The name was pretty long so the "st" of Stallworth is white to not clash with the blue stripe.

  17. I'd been looking for a basketball player template what looked "collegiate," and I hadn't been able to find one. So, I made one of my one, using several different sources. I used PaintDotNet, so I think the best file I can share is a PSD file. Here you go. Down below is what it looks like. If it downloads correctly for you, it should have 13 different layers, two of which are hidden. I'll also upload a separate shoe template file, so you can color/edit those and then add them to your player. I hope you enjoy it; if you do, feel free to add your concept on this thread. Here's the link for the shoes. You can see the differences in the player below.

Hi guys, I haven't post here for a loooong time.... I don't know if this is the right place for these in case it's not I'll post them in general designs... ^^ I have some stuffs I been working on, I've always been a huge fan of cereals boxes in general. I love the characters, the universe etc. That plus the fact that I am a college basketball lover, I've decided to associate both to create cereals designs with my favorites athletes. Here are what I've done so far, it's not perfect but with a some work and practice I can (I think) be in the right direction. Tell me what you guys are thinking about these. Here are the Tennessee Volunteers with Grant Williams, Admiral Schofield & Smokey the mascot. Here is Rui Hachimura from Gonzaga. Enjoy!
  19. Hello All As many of you are well aware, Adidas releases postseason jerseys for some of their teams to wear in tournaments. Nike does not do this, so I decided to try my hand at this idea. I have 12 teams that I will be doing jerseys for, and if those turn out well, I may take some requests for teams from the NCAA tournament. Without further ado, here are the first two sets, North Carolina and Butler. NORTH CAROLINA: For the Tar Heels, I've always thought that navy blue would be better than black. So here it is. A navy jersey with their Carolina blue as the accent color. Argyle pattern remains on the shorts, and the word mark is a baseball word mark that I thought worked well for these jerseys. BUTLER: For the Bulldogs, I focused on the aspect that they are Indianapolis' big team. The Indy skyline appears on the jersey, and the flag of the city is the shorts design. Hope you all like these, and of course C&C is appreciated! Thanks for looking.
  20. I am a huge fan of the NBA. A friend of mine introduced me to our local league, NBL Canada. As I looked up the league online, what I noticed was that the team logos looked very dated. Some even lacked imagination and originality. Earlier this year, I have begun to redesign some of the logos. I started with The Brampton A's. I noticed that the logo was based off of an athletic centre that the team is owned by. The word Brampton was also poorly split within the logo. I decided to give them their own identity by giving them a new A logo and adding the team mascot to my design. The next one was St. John Mill Rats. I felt that their current logo was dated and very cartoonish. I like using mascots, so I decided to create one. The team is called Mill Rats, I went ahead and designed a rat mascot that flowed with the typography I created. The latest one that I created was for the Niagara River Lions during the "Name the Team Contest". I picked the name River Lions as it is in the regions crest. I guess it wasn't my lucky day as someone else won with the same name. When they revealed the team and its logo, I kinda laughed. As the logo they created looked more like an elementary school team logo. I wish I was able to contact someone to design the team logo, as I feel it is more aggressive and will last. You be the judge?...... Not only that, looks like they ripped someone else's concept for the Detroit Lions (A previous post on this site). I will continue this by completing the rest of the teams and also revise the league logo. If anyone is looking for a logo or has any contacts for teams they want to share for jobs like this hit me up and thanks! BONUS: This is one I did for the Mississauga Power before the team folded and became a part of the NBA D-League as Raptors 905. Again I wanted to give them a mascot which was a rhino. I feel that this animal portrays power and if you get in their way you will be trampled!
  21. It's named "CCSLC Forum Brackets", and the password is "ccslcforum". I didn't put a year in the name of the group because I wanted it to be one that everyone can rejoin every year without it having the previous year in the title. If you are interested in joining, please post that here so that we know who is playing. If you decide to play, please name the bracket with your CCSLC usersname (you don't have to rename your username) so that we know which brackets are associated with which people. ONLY one bracket per person per group. Same group name and password for the following sites... ESPN Group CBS Sports Group (No longer being used) Yahoo! Group (No longer being used) NCAA March Madness Group (No longer being used) Because the ESPN group gets a better showing, I encourage everyone to join that one. If there isn't a good showing in the other groups this year, they will likely not be continued in following years. 2016 EDIT: All the groups above except for the NCAA March Madness group were reactivated. I had to make a new group for the NCAA March Madness group because the NCAA site doesn't save groups from previous years. All the links above should work for this year. The Sports Illustrated group and Fox Sports group from last year (2015) were removed because of lack of people. New for this year (2016), here's an ESPN Group for the women's basketball tournament... ESPN Group (Women's Tournament) ESPN Second Chance (Restart Bracket at Sweet 16) ESPN Second Chance Group 2017 EDIT: All the groups from 2016 are back and the links should work. Again, I encourage everyone to join the ESPN one because it gets the best participation. The Second Chance group will be reactivated once ESPN has it up again. 2018 EDIT: Only doing ESPN groups (men's and women's tournaments, and second chance) this year due to low participation in other groups.
  22. With the NBA switching to Nike upon the expiration of Adidas' contract with the League at the end of this season, this thread will be where I'll share all of my designs. Ideally I want to create home and away uniforms for all 30 teams, but that may be a bit ambitious so we'll see what happens. I'll start with one uniform for each of the 16 playoff teams and then hopefully progress from there. This will be an exercise focusing primarily on colors, fonts, and minimalist design elements to create a clean and unique look for each team that reinforces or in some cases redesigns their brand. As always, any and all comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated! Indiana Pacers Away Uniform This takes the clean aesthetic of their current look and recalls the more yellow-centric color balance of their uniforms from the early '90s, adding a sublimated checkerboard racing stripe pattern along the side panels. Chicago Bulls Away Uniform While black is typically used as an alternate uniform color for the Bulls, the Jordan-era pinstripes were too classic to pass up. This look doesn't reinvent those classic jerseys so much as it simply reapplies it to the updated Nike Aeroswift jersey template.
  23. It's been entirely too long, CCSLC. How I've missed partaking here.. back after a few quieter years of browsing through. https://www.behance.net/gallery/76186641/Branding-Brooklyn-Jam Teaser image: For those of you that don't know me, I joined this board when I was all of 17 (almost 32 now)... and was part of a select assortment of designers, that started their careers on concepts made in MS Paint, (yes that MS Paint, in all of its pixelated nostalgia). Gained so much knowledge here, not just at the level of sports branding, but design in general. It's great to see how far Chris has brought this endeavor. I'd like to update you all with a recent project, involving the development of a charity basketball tournament, taking place annually in Brooklyn, NY, at the infamous Basketball City (2017) as well as Sportika Sports (2018). The tourney, in addition to a series of five-on-five games leading to a championship, for boys' in their junior high-high school years, boasts a robust dunk contest, featuring dunkers from TNT's Dunk King, and many guest appearances from current NBA players, and NY basketball legends (Charles Oakley, Larry Johnson, John Starks, Kyle O'Quinn, and Quincy Acy, to name a few). I've recently added the project to my Behance portfolio, and would like to share here. This, paired with the 2014 NBA Summer League design internship, were the closest I've come to professional sports branding. There's a project also on my Behance, dedicate to this intthat displays some of the creative from that year's Summer League, where I interned through the entirety of the 2-week rookie-packed event, as lead designer, in Las Vegas: https://www.behance.net/gallery/18595973/Designing-the-2014-NBA-Summer-League. (This page in my portfolio needs some serious updating, as I did with the Brooklyn Jam, but still shows the greater parts of the project. I've got more work to share, and I hope to be posting over the next few weeks, in tandem with updating my portfolios. I hope everyone from the days of yesteryear are doing well; designing and thriving. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!! Bonus content: MY OLD WEBSITE containing all of the MS PAINT madness!! Enjoy!! http://www.angelfire.com/va3/logoandunifrmconcpts/ **I admit that I've slacked tremendously on updating the NBA uniforms section of the site; most of which I created the images of each, currently on display. I have aspirations to jump back in this, though its a tedious task--I'd surely benefit from a team that could split some time on updating it. With all of the new Nike unis, its sure to be a heavy (but fun) lift.
  24. Well, it's been a long time since I've posted a logo concept on here. Now, I have a semester-long project in my project management class and I chose to put an NBA expansion team in Pittsburgh. The name I chose is the Pittsburgh Peregrines; named after the fastest flying animal on the planet. I am not the best at drawing, so I traced over the picture of the peregrine you will see below. I know right now it looks more like an illustration than a logo, and that's what I need your help with. What can I do to make it look more like Boston College's Eagle or UTSA's Roadrunner? Any help would be appreciated. I will also be posting other alternate logos and uniforms eventually. C&C much appreciated!
