  1. Here I go, attempting to make a new series. Now that school is finally over - albeit only for a month - I have finally felt comfortable enough to direct my attention to designing stuff again. I have seen a couple NHL Soccer crossover threads but I have felt that a lot of them lacked a real identity refresh - although I'm not saying they were bad, many were good - not saying I'm that good either. I really wanted to take my time with each of the 30 NHL teams by thinking outside of the box. Instead of just slapping an NHL roundel logo on a basic template, why not change the team name, history (only a little), the basic logo, even the mascot name. For this crossover, I really wanted to make a legitimate looking Soccer league that felt like it has been a real league for quite some time. Some rules I have set up for myself are as follows; however I have only completed about 5 of them so I may bend some rules: There must be some common ground between the 2 teams. It must be recognizable which NHL team the Soccer team is representing. 1. 3 jerseys only, exceptions are Throwbacks. Throwbacks can be the Thirds (Home/Clash/TB) or can be Fourths (H/C/T/TB) 2. No hockey related imagery on any of the logos. 3. Stanley Cup Stars must be present on the front crest, however shorts don't have to. 4. At least one kit must have current NHL counterpart team's colours. 5. Home jersey doesn't have to be solid colour and Home and Clash don't need to be mirrored cuts. 6. Main sponsor is the current arena sponsor. I will start off with Anaheim Ducks. I won't be going in any particular order because I only want to post those that I am at least 80% comfortable with. I will hopefully be posting a concept every 2 days, maybe less depending on how many I make. Anaheim Football Club nicknamed the Ducks, take many design ques from the original Anaheim Mighty Ducks logo. I really liked that unique triangle and circle so I messed around with that and the duck mask. Now I realize the possibility of me violating rule #3 with this so I may remove the holes in the duck mask/face. I felt the holes being removed made it unrecognizable, but you guys let me know. The jerseys weren't originally meant to be mirrored, but due to that awesome new white jersey the Ducks just released, I couldn't pass up on the opportunity. I went with a more crazy cut template to use the secondary colours to their full potential as well as mimicking the side stripping of the actual Hockey jerseys. The third kit has a similar slanted striping but is now at the chest. Nothing more to explain here, if you have any questions, feel free to ask
  2. I'm back with another crossover series, but I will be more lenient on the NFL's rules regarding how many helmets/jerseys. So without further adieu, the Baltimore Orioles.
  3. Hey everyone, this is my first concept on the boards! I'll be taking NBA uniforms and creating them as football teams. I know I'm not the first to do so, but it's been fun for me so far. A couple standards I'm following: I try to best depict each team's current uniforms as football uniforms. So I won't be fixing any teams' identities. (There are a couple exceptions where I used previous sets...more on that later.)I'm not worried about basketballs being in the logos that are on these. I didn't want to go into each teams' logo and try to remove basketballs, especially in the NBA where they're everywhere.I'm doing home, away, and one alternate. No team can have more than two helmets. I started off by having a different helmet for each set, and it got out of hand.I'll be going through this by division.Hope you guys like it! First up is the Oklahoma City Thunder. I thought their side panels translated really well to a traditional football stripe. This concept was the first one I did and what inspired me to try it with other teams. Again with the alternate I thought the simple two white stripes look they use translated really well to a football uniform. Edit: Click here for updated OKC Thunder
  4. Welcome, this is my first ever concept, and I'm just getting my feet wet with concepts and coming fresh from a beginner's photoshop class at my high school. Anyways, I saw the NBA to NFL thread, and got inspired by that thread to make this crossover. SOME BASIC THINGS I WANT TO SAY: I haven't really watched or payed attention to baseball, so these may not look like traditional baseball jerseys. Most NBA logos can actually be replaced with a baseball, so I feel like I can get away with unmodified ones. Some, however (ex. Miami Primary) won't work at all, so I'll avoid ones like that.I've done a Home and a Road Jersey, and may come back to do Alternates.I'll try to post a West/East concept in every update.Updates may not be constant.‚Äč So first up, we have my Phoenix Suns. I wanted to put the Sunburst on their jerseys in, but thought it would be too weird. Should I have? Next up is the Orlando Magic. I like this one, because it reminds me more of a baseball jersey and is decent imo. So guys, any constructive criticism? Should I continue? Any team suggestions?
  5. So I've made a few concepts in the past for a fantasy football league, but this is the first I've posted here or anywhere else. I got bored so I decided to make the MLB into NFL teams. The first one I've made is the Astros. Please let me know what you think! TO VIEW MY FULL ALBUM, click here:
  6. Hey guys! I'm back with another concept series. I noticed jbslinky's awesome MLB and NHL crossover series, so I thought I'd try my hand at an NBA crossover. Hope you guys enjoy! First up is the Hawks. I wanted to base it off their current basketball look, and I think I hit it spot on. Also, there's a throwback based on the Wilkins era unis.
  7. Ten submissions made the cut this time! Two were disqualified for not following the rules. The requirements for the Crossover event were: For this event, you have to crossover any American Basketball Association (1968-1976) team to American football. You have to create one colored uniform set, one helmet and a primary logo. The logo must incorporate one of the team's marks. Use the colors that are already part of the color scheme; do NOT add more colors (other than white). The uniform set should include a jersey and pants only. List your 3 favorites, ranked 1, 2, 3. The poll closes Thursday, October 4th, at 12:30PM Eastern Time (three days from now). Voting is now over. Entries Entry #1 Entry #2 Entry #3 Entry #4 Entry #5 Entry #6 Entry #7 Entry #8 Entry #9 Entry #10 Disqualified entries rayman's entry was disqualified for two reasons: the template was much bigger than the requested size (3333 px x 2500 px) and, most importantly, grey (or silver) was added to the color scheme. I specifically mentioned in the event's description that the chosen team was from the ABA between 1968 and 1976. While the New Jersey Nets have had grey in there color scheme, it was not between those years. Here is rayman's entry. Gfonk04's entry was disqualified for the color scheme: while the Spirit of St. Louis have silver on their uniform, it was a very light color compared to what was submitted (based on the files). Keeping in line with my multiple comments through the event thread, I judged it too far off the normal color to accept it. Here is Gfonk04's entry. Reminder The voting will be open to public voting once the event is officially over. Once the finalists have been posted in the event thread, voting will be open for 3 days. Judging is open to all board members registered BEFORE August 1st. This is to ensure no one is voting for themselves under an alternate login. Members may vote once per event and may not vote for their own entry (I'll know if you did, and will not count your vote). You may not disclose the identity of any of the designers of the entries until voting closes. Voting will be via the 3-2-1 points method. Voters will be asked to post their choice for a gold, silver and bronze winner. Gold votes are worth 3 points, Silver worth 2, Bronze worth 1.
