As always, feel free to critique and I will answer questions when I have the time available. Also, here's a link to the project: Miami SC/96 - MLS Design

  4. Hey everyone. My latest side project I created a redesign concept of Wamego High School located in Wamego Kansas. I am currently student teaching at the high school and this project stemmed from me trying to find a shirt in town that I could wear so that I would represent the school come baseball season where I will be an assistant coach. But the more shirts I found, the more I really did not like their current raider logo. It looked like the design was trying to hard to combine the powercat logo of the near by Kansas State University with an Indian logo. Some kids in the school nicknamed their current logo the "frankenraider."So I wanted to create my own raider logo and shirt to use for the baseball season and the rest of the redesign snowballed after. For this concept, I took their current raider logo and gave it a modern update complete with smoother and bolder lines. I dropped the powercat look from it and gave the face and feathers shadow highlights to give it more depth. From there I also updated the W logo to match the new raider head and created a universal wordmark that athletics, academics, and community programs can use to create better cohesion with the high school's imagery in the local community. I will start off by posting the two logo updates, then wordmarks and uniforms of the 4 major sports will follow. If you would like to see my whole presentation, you can click on this like to view it on my behance page: https://www.behance.net/gallery/33741150/Wamego-HS-Redesign
  5. Living in the DC area I hear a lot of talk about the Redskins, even if it is annoying when you are a baseball (Nationals) fan and couldn't give a damn about the NFL. Anyways, all the talk about the Redskins being a racist slur and if it should be used for the name of the team got me thinking about a rebrand. The look of the 'Skins works very well, so it shouldn't be radically changed, in my opinion. The simplest thing would be to change the name to the Washington Warriors and utilized past icons to forward the brand. It is more of a tweak rather than a full rebrand. Utilizing the primary logo from 1965-1969 as the helmet logo, and substituting Warriors for Redskins on the uniforms, you can have a simple rebrand. For an alternate, I focused on the helmet. I was fascinated by the 1970-71 Helmet so I wanted to utilize that in a new rebrand to the Warriors. So I went to the 1970-71 Primary Logo and took a close look at it. It seemed, at least on this version of the logo, that the R was created by the font Big Caslon, so I used that to replace the R with a W. The W can work for either Washington or Warriors name. With a few tweaks, this is what I created based off that 1970-71 logo: Utilizing that logo I created this alternate helmet look: Anyways, this is my preference to a rebrand. Keeping it simple and keeping the things that work on the already existing brand. What do you think?
  6. I have a question: How many NFL teams, with the ever-shrinking sleeve lengths, still have stripes that go all the way around? I can only think of the Panthers, and their stripe is all the way up on the armpit. Furthermore, for those whose stripes used to be complete but are now partial (Steelers, 49ers, Giants off the top of my head), when did they truncate them? Secondly, same question except replace "NFL" with "NCAA."
  7. Hello, long time no see on the boards. Today I'm back with a new project I've been working on in my spare time. It's a logo for FC Bucuresti who have lost the legal battle for their historic name Steaua. The flower in the center is a Romanian national flower called Romanian Peony. Behind are the stripes in red and blue. Also added the gold because of the Romanian flag. I'd like some C/C because I want to upgrade my Behance page so I can expose myself a bit more.
  8. New better improved wallpaper style for y'all. request to the specs in the title. Also leave your wallpaper preferred size! Also only one player per request to keep the request list reasonable! Once that wallpaper is done you can request for another if wanted.
  9. 01/29: Added a wing and flame vector preview (in progress!): __ I have been a designer for years, but I've done very little logo work, so I decided to do a few NFL concepts to develop a logo portfolio. Obviously, this is still in the early stages and will eventually be vectored, but I would love feedback on the overall concept before I dive that far in... I was inspired by TVIXX's amazing Vikings concept (and I'm sure it shows), but really wanted to focus on the Greek theme of Nashville and the Titans franchise... the hair/beard needs direction, so I appreciate any suggestions
  10. Hello! Recently, I had the idea to redesign the idea to redesign every team in the FCS division of NCAA football. This division consists of 125 teams, and I plan on completing and posting all 125. Also, I will be doing all the designs on the Nike Mach Speed template, even though many of these schools are not actually Nike schools. I will be posting the concepts in alphabetical order, starting with Abilene Christian. Abilene Christian Alabama A&M Alabama State Albany Alcorn State Arkansas Pine Bluff Austin Peay Bethune-Cookman Brown Bryant Bucknell White Numbers Butler Cal Poly Campbell Without further ado, the Abilene Christian Wildcats Home & Away Alternate C&C Appreciated
  11. The Super Bowl never has good logos anymore. That's why it's fun to create my own. The bottom one would preferably be used here. And of course, what it would look like on the teams: I also switched the Nike logo to gold on both teams, as a little touch since the NFL is going gold-out this year.
  12. Hello everyone. I've been working on a fictional league for quite some time, and I was looking for some feedback on this particular set of uniforms. DISCLAIMER: I am aware that this is a recolored San Jose State logo, I am in the midst of learning to draw my own logos to replace them. Also, the number font is Conrad's "Golden Bear".
  13. Bizarrely, I haven't been able to find such a thread in the archives, at least not in the past few years. Anyway, I think this could be a fun topic to discuss. Which Super Bowls just looked great? Which ones were a disaster (*cough cough, last year's*)? Also, teams wearing white in the Super Bowl are, thus far, 31-18 if I recall correctly, with at least the four biggest margins of victory (49ers over Broncos by 45 points, Bears over Patriots by 36 points, Cowboys over Bills by 35 points, Seahawks over Broncos by 35 points). It's a small sample size, but that's still a bigger difference than you'd expect. Do you think it's just a coincidence, or does wearing white somehow convey a psychological advantage?

  15. If I recall correctly, there have been previous threads covering the topics of "Worst high school ripoffs" and "High schools that rip off multiple teams," or similar titles. However, some high school logos and uniforms manage to tastefully incorporate the logo (current or past) of a professional team or collegiate program into a new context. I'll start off with what I consider to be a pretty good one: Encinal Jets (Alameda, CA): The only way to mess up such a simple logo as this is to try to get super complex in its implementation. These guys (and this gal; the first photo is from an article about the girl who kicked for them in 2012) have kept it simple...for the most part. They did, however, roll out this clunker at some point in time: Not much point in having jersey numbers if you can't read them.

    LA Rams Logo

Howdy Folks I'm back with something a little out of my wheel house today, A LA Rams concept. As an LA native who was born the year the Rams left and grown up without a NFL team I can safely say I do not care that the Rams are back. BUT since they are why not rebrand! I used the old rams colors to give my logo a UC kinda of feel. As always Folks feed back is much appreciated! Uniforms to come so keep checking back!
  17. Although I know there will be a ton of new Rams concepts popping up on here, I was inspired to go ahead and put one of my own together that, hopefully will stand out from the crowd. I wanted to leave the latest era of navy blue and vegas gold uniforms in St. Louis where it belongs, So naturally I went back to the classic blue and yellow of the Rams' Super Bowl winning season and their years in the LA sunshine. I also drew up a brand new LA monogram to be used as the team's primary logo and a wordmark that is a bit of a combination of eras. The new logos and uniforms are meant to be a modern take on a classic look. I tried to both make things feel familiar and fresh at the same time by using the same basic template as the classic Rams uniforms, but with a more contemporary number font, and adjusted shoulder insert and a few more modern touches to make them unique to the new-look Los Angeles Rams. Thanks for taking the time to have a look and I would appreciate any and all comments and criticisms. Full Disclosure: I realize that my uniform concept is similar to AAWagner001's, but it is totally coincidental, I had no intention of copying his work whatsoever and the work is 100% mine.
  18. Hey Everyone! New here to this community. Wanted to share this case study im currently working on, the Pokemon Football League More updates soon. let me know what you think so far! PEWTER PIGEOTS PETALBURG SCEPTILES
  19. Hey guys, here for your pleasure I have Nike newest uniform template, the Elite Mach Speed set. I made this template to use for some NFL and College Football series and wanted to share with the community as well! Template is for Adobe Illustrator in an .ai file. Also included is a .psd file made directly from this template by Bucks Fan. Thanks for doing that man! Just with some of my other templates, the only thing I ask with this free template is that you mention my name (Trent Daniel or tbdaniel15) when you use this and give me credit for my work. Other than that, enjoy it! I hope it can help some of your projects pop. .psd http://www.mediafire...y_BucksFan5.rar .ai https://www.mediafire.com/?aun32ll22dvu6pa *Note* There are helmet and pant stripes hidden within the layers. 20. So I've been wanting to do a Chargers concept for a while now, and now that they're moving to LA (hopefully, would hate to see the Raiders leave the Bay) I've finally done it. Currently I only have the home jersey but other sets will be coming. I don't like long intros so here's the concept: There's not too many major changes, but I'll go over them just so you know what to look for. First of all Powder Blue is back, it's a unique color and it looks way better than navy. Next you may notice the anniversary patch, it is shown separately but is on the right chest of the jersey and a partial version that only features the "LA" is a decal on the helmet. I think the "LA" would make a good secondary. Another major change is moving the bolt lower on the sleeves, it seemed more efficient to me and looks cleaner. I also changed the pants stripe to better fit nike's style and modernize a classic look. Then there's the helmet. Most of you will probably hate the gradient, but I felt it was a subtle way of adding depth to the helmet and giving a cloudy look to it. Plus Nike would have so much fun explaining it as some "thundercloud with an electric flair" or something cheesy like that. Anyways thank you for viewing this concept, I know I haven't posted anything in a while. Any feedback is appreciated.
  21. Alright folks, it's that special time of year for fans of lower division college football. Divisions 2 and 3 are wrapping up their seasons today, and tournament selection is tomorrow. Division 1 FCS tournament selection comes next week (11/22/2015). I don't follow JuCo or NAIA football, but I'm sure someone amongst us does and could provide further info on their respective postseasons. Best of luck to all the teams! Let the games (and trash talk) begin!
  22. When Roger Goodell became commissioner in 2006, he wanted to change things up a bit. After four seasons with the new divisional realignments and new schedule formula, he noticed that way too many mediocre teams made the playoffs due to playing in a terrible division. He introduced this new concept of grouping, similar to many international soccer leagues. AFC and NFC still stayed, but the divisions were discarded. Under the new format, teams are randomized into one of four groups: Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D. In the following season, the teams are randomized again, being placed in a new group. This, obviously, is to have good teams and bad teams in the same division, making the playoffs better quality. The playoffs remained the same format as before. Due to the realignment every year, the scheduling formula is altered slightly. It goes as follows: 6 games against members from group (not changed from before) 4 games against another group from the conference (Every year it will always be Group A vs. Group C and Group B vs. Group D) 2 games against team's rival(s) or closest team geographically 4 games against the same group from the other conference (Group A vs. Group A, Group B vs. Group B, etc.) When a team plays another team, the next time they play will be at the opposite home venue from the previous. Without further ado, here are the groups for the 2006 season: AFC Group A Cincinnati Denver Miami Tennessee Group B Cleveland Indianapolis NY Jets Oakland Group C Buffalo Baltimore Houston San Diego Group D Jacksonville Kansas City New England Pittsburgh NFC Group A Atlanta Dallas Detroit San Francisco Group B Arizona Chicago New Orleans Washington Group C Carolina Minnesota NY Giants St. Louis Group D Green Bay Philadelphia Seattle Tampa Bay I will be simulating the season according to every team's schedule. C&C is always appreciated.

  24. Cheerleaders don't get a lot of attention on this site so I thought I'd make a thread dedicated to pro and college cheerleading squad logos. After doing some research on this, I stumbled upon many logos I've never seen before and many of them are great examples of the graphic design styles that were popular the year they were designed. "Pro" mostly means NFL, NBA, and NHL cheerleaders, as well as any additional dance teams, but if you find any logos for WFL, USFL, XFL, CBA, WNBA, WHA, modern day hockey minor leagues, etc, cheerleading squads by all means post them too. "College" means the cheerleading squads and dance teams that perform at NCAA football and basketball games. One thing that is common with cheerleading squads is they tend to have goofy names, often a pun off the pro or college team they are cheering for. I will make sure to point out the best examples below. In my opinion what makes these logos interesting is more often than not they borrow the colors and certain design elements from the team the cheerleaders are cheering for. So even if you didn't know the name of the squad you could still guess what team they belong to based on the colors and design of their logo. Feel free to add pics of cheerleading squad logos to this thread as you find them! I'm starting with the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders because I found 10 different variations of their logo since the 70's and 10 pics is the limit for posts. Here we go: 1966–1977 Dolphin Dolls1978–1983 Dolphins Starbrites1984–present Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders And last butt not least: what looks like a Victoria's Secret model wearing some kind of outfit featuring their logo:
  25. Hey guys! I've seen a lot of college football uniform re-do's and decided to do my own, except this is Division II! A lot of you might have no clue who any of these teams are, heck I don't either, but here it is. I'm currently only doing the MIAA (Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association), but if people like this topic and if I have time on my hands, I might do some other conferences. But, here's the first team, Central Missouri Mules: Central Missouri Mules Central Oklahoma Bronchos Emporia State Hornets Fort Hays State Tigers
