  1. I might have discussed this before, but years ago I was really intrigued by the Asia Pacific Football League. It was a proposed professional American football league that would have teams in China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Hawaii. The league had the backing of investors in Hong Kong and former Dallas Cowboys player Preston Person as a "consultant". The league was to launch in 1999, the pushed back to 2000. After that.... well nothing. All there is are a few logos and a dead website that can be found on Wayback Machine. I've tried to find news articles from that time, but no luck, even though I do remember at least one article. Regardless, enjoy the logos that I found from their website. And if your curious the teams were: Sharks, Dragons, Express, Pandas, Stallions, Dolphins, Warriors, Typhoon, Fighting Cocks, and Elephants. More info here:https://web.archive.org/web/20000410212325/http://apfl.com:80/teams.html
  2. Atlanta United is rumored to be doing away with their inaugural away kits, which is a good thing in my view as they were pretty boring. I love their red and black striped kit, and wanted to keep the "5 Stripes" in my concept kit as well. It's an all black idea, so I thought it may work better as a 3rd kit rather than their main away kit. I may attempt an away kit as well on this thread in the future.
  3. I was looking through the NFL logos on the mother ship and this one stood out to me as one to try to rework. The shape has always seemed off to me and I realized that it is because this head was lifted off of the full (human) bodied Chicago/St. Louis Cardinals logos so it doesn't give much of a full bodied bird feel. The head seems to taper down into a human-like neck area. So here is my take: No highlight vs highlight? I'm still undecided as to whether it would "fly" as an NFL logo or if it's just a nice cardinal logo. C&C appreciated.
  4. Hello all! I had some ideas brewing in my head and decided to get them out. Here's my ideas for World Cup kits for Japan and Korea. Japan - The primary kit is a more purplish blue with silver and pinkish red accents*, and the front number is encased on a subliminated sun. The secondary kit is a white-to-black gradient with the number inside the red sun from the flag. I went with just the crest on both kits instead of the usual flag-and-crest combo the team normally uses, because I thought it looked a little less cluttered. Korea - I wanted to keep the "Red Devils" primarily red, but draw some inspiration from the flag also, hence the yin-yang inspired design. The secondary kit draws inspiration from the flag also in the way the colors are used; accented with blue and red with a curvy mini-sash, I made the numbers black to use all the colors of the flag. The third kit is a black set with red and blue accents that I felt made for a good alternative for Korea. Let me know what you think! *EDIT: The pinkish Red looks more reddish on mobile than on desktop for some reason
  5. I haven't used this thread in over two years, and use another instead. Can a mod please close this for further comments? Thanks
  6. The Tennessee Titans' logo and uniforms and I have had a bit of an on-again-off-again relationship over the years. When I first remember seeing them in the Super Bowl against the Rams in 2000, I was in love with the logo, cuz, you know, FLAMES!!!!!!!! I was five then. As I got older, I soured on the logo, thinking the flames were over the top and the Titans would be better off using the sword alternate logo or the thumbtack roundel. The Titans' refusal to wear reasonable uniforms combos also drives me nuts. The helmet striping doesn't really go with anything and the brashier stripes on the pants don't feel right with the yoke, which has gotten too small over the years. The Uniforms have some good ideas, but I'm not crazy about the execution. Lately, the uniforms are still a mess, but I have come around on the idea of flames for the Titans. I think that is something they can own and it really just works. I do not care for the T logo. Besides the comparison to a thumbtack as far as it's shape goes, it feels small contained within the shield or roundel or whatever the circle is. The Titans logo should be big, "titanic" and the T should be the focal point, IMO. I threw out the bathwater, but kept the baby. The colors remain the same, but the Flaming T is bigger and bolder. I don't think this is a finished product but I'm also not entirely sure what parts of the logo needs more work so, please feel free to offer and C&C. I would really appreciate it. Once the logo gets to a good place, I'll work on some new uniforms to go with the updated logo. Thanks for having a look.
  7. Okay. State your straight-up (without point spread) predicted winner of Super Bowl LII. Feel free to add whatever other game-related predictions you'd like. I don't have a dog in the fight, but I think the Patriots are going to win.
  8. Was wondering what you guys thought which jerseys certain teams will wear. Packers in yellow? Bears in orange? Raiders in Mono- Black? would love to hear what you guys speculate
  9. We've already had multiple threads about the best-looking uni matchups in Super Bowl history. With the conference title games upon us today, let's look at some of the best ALMOST Super Bowl matchups. The rules are: 1. Both teams were in their respective conference title games that season. 2. One or both lost said title games. 3. They have never played each other in a Super Bowl in any year. 4. The pic posted shows the most likely uniform matchup if they had played that year. Here are a few: Super Bowl XIV (1979 season) - Oilers vs. Buccaneers: Super Bowl XV (1980 season) among MANY others - Raiders vs. Cowboys (pic actually from 1980 season): Super Bowl XX (1985 season) - Dolphins vs. Bears (pic actually from 1985 season): Super Bowl XIV (1989 season) - Broncos vs. Rams: Super Bowl XXVIII (1993 season), the fourth time in a six-year span that both these teams were in their respective title games together; in fact, one or the other appeared in seven straight Super Bowls, but never both - Bills vs. 49ers:

  11. It's been my impression that Arizona's current number font is not terribly popular with the majority of members on the boards. (Am I right in thinking that?) While I don't think they're the best-designed numbers I've ever seen, I think they do have quite a bit of potential. I don't care for the pointed serifs, though they do balance out the weights of the various numbers and, along with the rounded parts of the counters, add a certain character to the set. And, as a rule, I don't like open-topped 4s. So, with a skew toward giving Arizona's numbers a "throwback" or classic look, I made changes to the set. I'm not a designer by trade, and I certainly don't claim to understand the intricacies of type design (especially intentional design to improve readability, etc.), so I am open to any and all C&C. The original Nike set is on top, and my variation is on the bottom: I think perhaps the most changed and potentially generic number in my update is the 4. I didn't know exactly what to do with it, but leaving it open wasn't an option so as to not break my rule. Ha. I realize that with Nike's original, the angle of the left side of the 4 appears to match the angle in the 7 and 9. In my version, I kept the crossbar at the same height, but closed the top. I think there are a lot of variations for the 4 though: I think of the 6 options here, no. 2 may be the one that stays closest to the original while closing the top. Anyway, thoughts?
  12. Little project I’m doing for fun, I’d like some criticism on the first team or so before posting the whole project. Yes this is handrawn The team name is Kansas City Thunderstorm based off of the storms you typically get in the Midwest. Their colors are a pinky purple, based off the sunsets you get at evening, black, based off the dark clouds and yellow based off lighting, all the colors you’d see during an evening storm. The logo is a K fused with a lighting bolt. But it’s also a hidden c and T Hope this link works https://imgur.com/gallery/RYt5w
  13. Hello and welcome to the third installment of my "Yet Another" Series of concepts! Previously, I tackled the NFL and an MLB-to-Football Crossover series. Today, I bring to you "Yet Another Crossover Series" (YACS, for short), this time being an NHL-to-Football crossover. Credit to Conrad for the fonts and several others as references for the template. One thing I do ask from you as the community is some honest comments, criticism, etc. One-liners such as "kewl concepts do Team X next" will not be replied to and, quite frankly, are not helpful. Before anyone asks, I will post alternate uniforms after all the main jerseys have been posted, just like with the MLB Crossover thread. Without further ado, here are the first four teams in alphabetical order, starting with the... ANAHEIM DUCKS: Not too much to say about the Ducks. The reason for the logo change was because I felt the bronze/gold muddied up the look, so I cleaned it up by putting white in its place and limiting the bronze/gold to just being a trim color. The jersey striping is loosely based on the team's orange alternate. Potential alternate: Definitely a Mighty Ducks throwback, though expect the MD logo to be used and not the duck mask logo. ARIZONA COYOTES: For the longest time, I couldn't for the life of me figure out what I was going to do with this team. I thought about using the state flag as inspiration but I already did that with my Arizona Cardinals concept in my NFL thread. So, I looked at the team's uniform history. The answer lied within the team's inaugural set. So, I used the striping as inspiration in this fauxback-style package. The home uniform didn't look good with the maroon or white pants, but the road did, so I limited those pants options to the road jersey. Potential alternate: Throwback to the 90's alternate w/ the desert scene. BOSTON BRUINS: I almost went with brown over black and I still might by going back and changing out the two. Nonetheless, I'm happy with how this came out. The numbers looked better with only one outline rather than two like the actual uniforms, so I ran with it. The logo on the jersey is placed similarly to how the Steelers place their logos, being off to the side rather than the center of the chest. Not much else to say as this is one of the cleaner sets in the series. Potential alternate: Either a 30's throwback or a brown version of this set. BUFFALO SABRES: Man, if the Sabres were a football team, Buffaslug wouldn't have been received so harshly... okay, maybe it would have. BUT, it would've looked much better on a football helmet. For this set, classic meets modern. With the lack of white in the set, the buffalo had to be either gold or silver. As you can see, I chose gold. The jersey striping is a mishmash of the royal alternate and the current home. The crossed swords worked extremely well as a chest logo. I'm not sold on the buffalo and I'm considering recoloring the old black-and-red buffalo Potential alternate: A Royal blue version of the updated set shown below. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Up next: Flames, Hurricanes, Blackhawks, and Avalanche. .As always, C+C is always appreciated. This has been a long time coming and I'm so happy I can finally share it with you all!
  14. Hi guys! Well, I'm starting this new project here in the forum. My idea is to imagine the NBA franchises as MLS franchises. It's a simple thing, I think other people should have done it here, but I think it's worth bringing my vision to you. The shirts will be made in alphabetical order, and starting from the beginning, let's go to the Atlanta Hawks! HOME JERSEY AWAY JERSEY THIRD JERSEY CITY EDITION JERSEY
  15. Hello all! With the college football season all but over, it's time to look to the NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns completed their winless season and have the first overall pick as well as the 4th overall pick (from the Texans). Sam Darnold appears to be on a fast track to Cleveland, so here he is in a Browns jersey. This is my first ever jersey swap and I would love to get all of your guys' thoughts on what i can improve. More guys to come! Thanks for looking. ORIGINAL: JERSEY SWAP:
  16. Hello everyone! I came here to show my new project, which basically is: I get football players in their current clubs, and put them in the same clubs, but in other times. Simple, but I think it's very interesting! If you want to see my creative process, and see some posts ahead of time, follow me at instagram.com/donelece. NBA Football

So it's been a while since I posted but I have been working on a project for the last few months, took some time off, and came back to it. Well my new project is this, NBA teams as football teams. This idea came because I saw the new Timberwolves logo and thought that would look really good on a helmet, just like the old Michigan Panthers helmet. Well I put it on the helmet and then I realized there hasn't been a true concept on these boards in awhile since JPDesigns awesome thread a few years ago. With Nike's takeover of the NBA, I thought this was the perfect time to start a new one. I will be releasing each team alphabetically with the exception of the first team (the Minnesota Timberwolves). Just a few things about the thread that I feel like should be explained: -This is not an "edit the uniform" thread. This is basically just translating the uniforms on to a football uniform. Even though I hate some of the uniforms, I will not edit them. -Some uniforms will have basketballs in the logos because changing the basketball will change the logo. -NO JERSEY ADS. I hate hate hate the idea of them and wished the NBA never had them -One helmet rule does not apply (unlike the NFL). But for the most part, each team will only have 1 helmet. -The Home (Association?), Away (I don't know the stupid name for the away jerseys), and Alternates (statement) jerseys are all done -I created some alternate jerseys that may or may not be used by teams in real life -Once the 2nd alts (Community) jerseys come out I will be adding those -The teams that have unveiled throwbacks, I have completed. I even have completed some fan favorite throwbacks So here is the team that peaked my interest MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES HELMET: -Just like I said, I thought given the Michigan Panthers treatment to the logo, the helmet would be really cool -Normal glossy blue helmet and facemask -Wolf is howling at the star, just like the logo JERSEY: -Took the torso/shoulder stripes and put them on the shoulder caps -"WOLVES" on all 3 jerseys. I couldn't find a "MINNESOTA wordmark that was the same PANTS: -Same stripe, just flipped -Changed the coloring of the stripe on the blue pants that are worn with the green jersey. -Light blue pants would not be worn with the green jersey, and the green pants would not be worn with the blue or white jersey THROWBACK I had high hopes that the new uniforms would encompass and hearken back to the KG era uniforms. I was disappointed but I thought why not make the old uniforms then. Tree design on the collar and sleeve cuffs, just like the real jerseys I also created some concepts about what I thought the uniforms would look like before they unveiled them. I had the same idea as everyone else did, they would bring back the tree theme. Well they didn't, but I thought I would still show them on here. CONCEPT UNIFORMS Hopefully you guys like these concepts. And if not I always look forward to hearing the C&C. I will try to have a team up every day and the next team will be the Atlanta Hawks. Thanks guys
  18. Army Navy is first, because Army Navy is awesome. More to come, give the helmet you want, if you request. First come, first serve, unless i've already made that helmet. Edit: Decided it would make most sense to add the new ones to this first post.
  19. Hello! In this topic I will post the concepts of football shirts I am making. I thought it was better to make a topic for all football shirts than to create one for each league, but I'm going to post concepts here for clubs around the world! 20. With rumors floating of a possible comeback of the XFL, I remembered the last time Birmingham, Alabama had a pro outdoor football team. Up until the United Football League, there had been a Birmingham team in most startup pro football leagues. Now timeline may be a bit iffy like the last look back I did but I hope you will get a general sense of what the teams were like. This is little simpler than last time as many of teams lived brief lives. Sometimes glorious, sometimes not. First off, we have the 1974 Birmingham Americans of the World Football League, they will be first Birmingham team in the WFL and the only champions as the league fold shortly into its 2nd season. The logo was an A that alluded to the American flag with 3 red stripes making up one half of the A and a solid blue part making the other. Pretty prominently featured is the star made out of the negative space created by the blue and red halves, A little blue triangle was added at the bottom to complete the star. There were two alternate logos that were used This one is the primary logo with an Birmingham Americans wordmark up top. Birmingham being in blue and Americans in red. The 2nd had the blue wordmark moved to the right side and the font changed The road jerseys were blue with white numbers and an alternating red-white stripes on the sleeve Pants were white complemented by a red belt and had a blue stripe bookended by red -white stripes on both side. Pants were not changed for home jerseys Home jerseys were white with blue numbers outlined in red and there was an alternating red-blue stripe on the sleeve. it appears the 0 and holes in 8 in the numbers on sleeves ere filled in with red Socks were the same for both home and road with a pattern of blue-white-red-white-red-white-blue Helmets were white with grey facemasks and the primary logo were on both sides. There was a blue stripe bookended on both sides by a red stripe. The Americans would fold after the 1974 WFL season but was replaced with the Vulcans for the 1975 season The Vulcans primary logo was a blue V with a red flare enclosed in a blue circle. The V was designed to resemble a torch with the flare being a flame, the V following in the Americans footsteps used negative space to create a shape which in the Vulcans case was a football. The alternate logo was the torch V placed in a blue wordmark Uniforms did not change much. Socks were same for both road and home. blue-red stripes bookending a white stripe in middle. Helmets essentially the same aside from a logo change and the addition of a blue facemask Although the WFL went under, the Vulcans moniker would resurface in the American Football Association a few years later. As this is a bit obscure minor league football team, scant info exists on the web. The AFA Vulcans ditched the red, white, and blue color scheme of the previous Vulcans and opted for red and black. The primary logo can be seen as a spin on the Americans land Vulcans logo. As it is the Americans A and the letter V conjoined together. This time with no negative space in the A which is replaced by a football. There still is use of a negative space to create a torch with the insides of a V. Only uniform I could find is a black uniform with red number outlined in white. The stripes on the sleeves were orange-white-orange-white-orange. Atop the numbers, you can see there is a Vulcans wordmark in orange outlined in white. The V is made of three red stripes and a black part. The V makes a torch out of the negative space and a flame
  21. I've been on this board a few years and don't recall ever seeing a thread for HS football. Figured it would be interesting to give it a try. Let this thread be the hub for all things high schools football. Previews, rankings, scores, trash talk, players to watch, etc. So have HS camps started everywhere yet? I know in my home state (Maryland) public school camps always began on August 15th, unless there's been a change in recent years.
  22. Since 1999 I have been developing a concept league called the Sunday Champions League. Accompanying this league is a full collegiate universeThe first team up is the Cleveland Turfdogs. Keep in mind I was in fifth grade when some of these teams got their names, and in honor of tradition the names have stuck. The Turfdogs are a playoff team year in and year out but have lost all three SCL Championships that they have reached. Running Back, Bruce Perry is the lone Dog that has reached the SCL Pantheon (Hall of Fame). He holds the honor of being the first running back in SCL history to reach 2,000 yards. The Dogs are hoping that their first round pick, QB Pat Cavanaugh, will turn things around for them. They have missed the playoffs two straight seasons for the first time in team history.

  24. Since I was a kid, I loved creating fictional leagues. Basketball, Football, Baseball. But the one I've currently spent the most time with is the ACFA. I have become committed to turning this league into reality and would love your guys feedback as I release content. For now, I have just created the league logo, but soon I'll have the conferences and the teams. I've stated on previous threads I'm not the best at making logos, especially animals ones, so if anyone you guys want to help a brother out, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading my spiel, I should have the first conference out sometime today!
