  2. Hey, everyone. I just started following soccer this year and this "new" sport (to me) inspired me to do a brand new project: NFL Soccer Crossovers. I just finished the last one so I'm excited to see what you all think of it. When I first started this project, I wanted to do more than simply re-create NFL uniforms on a soccer template. I thought, "if these teams actually WERE in, say, Premier League, what would they look like". I tried to meld the soccer look/feel with their NFL counterpart. Elements from the original team exist, but within new boundaries. Some teams will stay traditional; some you may not expect, but I went crazy with them. Most teams I chose a location that fits more within a Premier League style (ex.: Washington Redskins become Washington FC) and all will have main kit sponsors. Most of the sponsors are the same as the stadium sponsor with a few exceptions. Also in this crossover world, Nike still has their full-league deal that they have with the current NFL. So let's get this started. Below is the order I'll unveil these in, updated every two days (for the mods reading this thread). Hi So as a Brit living here in the US I love the NFL, many at home love it too which is why we are certain to get a team in the near future especially since the NFL gave $125 million towards Tottenham Hotspurs new stadium. On that note when we do get a team what shall our name be? Colours look extra. I have had this discussion on here before and came to realize that although the natural conclusion is to go red white and blue for the national colours, on reflection too many teams in the NFL have this colour scheme. Thus for us to have a successful team we need to stand out and be unique. Another problem is most NFL UK have a team getting them to switch allegiances will be tough, however this will not happen if the team has London as its place name. Like how Boston Patriots became New England Patriots, we have to represent our whole island. Four Nations will unite us all around one team. when thinking of a symbol to unite us I looked no further than the British Bulldogs. I looked at all the teams and originally wanted to go with a ww1 British uniform colour however the colour was a bit too sickly green. Yet brown kept appearing during this period for uniforms and when I blended the dark red with the brown and silver I thought I had hit on something unique. The patch on the jersey I quickly through together but wanted the final design to have a patch that had a flower from each of the four countries in the Uk, English rose, Scottish thistle etc. The only problem i'm having is I have only just started graphic design and I'm not ready to make my own fonts yet. I really want to get tee shirts made of this concept so I can support the idera of us getting a team in the NFL but feel I need a great word mark to tie the brand together. Would any one on here be willing to make a word mark based of my idea that I could use? I would be so Grateful.   5. I'm sorry that this has taken me so long to get posted, frosh week has kept me far too busy the last couple of days. I'd also like to thank Thomas Hatfield for the fantastic helmet template, as well as Andrew Harrington for the various parts of his Speed Machine template which I used.   6. About a year ago i had an idea that what if Nike designed high school uniforms the same way they designed college uniforms. No, not the templated design (which a lot of high schools now wear) but the designs in which Nike takes their time and collaborates with the school on having a football or school identity that coincides with something that the school is famous for (a la Florida State, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Tennessee). I would describe these uniforms as modern conservative. This meaning that a lot of these designs are modern but I keep them as conservative as I can. I hate the over the top uniforms (Maryland's flag uniforms, TCU's frogskin). Some teams might have some traditional stripe elements with a little twist to keep it modern. If a team is already famous for a certain element, I keep that design or put my own little twist on it. Another design aspect I took from uniforms is throwbacks to a time before teams were Nikefied, Adidasfied, Under Armourfied, or just given generic uniforms. Or I combine both the templated Nike design with a throwback element. I tried to create the designs so that they will be used throughout all sports and maybe down the road I'll create basketball, soccer, football, or baseball uniforms. There are some logos that have had to be redesigned. However I am terrible at creating logos on photoshop. So most of these updated logos are just font updates or cleanups. I started by redesigning local high schools in Northeast Wisconsin but am always looking for inspiration on other schools to do. I have about 45 schools done just so if I am unavailable to work on new uniforms, I will have backups to be able to post. Without further ado, my alma mater Appleton North: APPLETON NORTH LIGHTNING So yes I did do a thread trying to redesign this school. Got a lot of great feedback especially on the logo. I did change up the designs a little bit. Logo: I wanted to create a more dynamic logo and a more modern logo. DavidMiller5 really helped me throughout the design and I have to thank him so much for that. Helmet: Last time it was just a flat gold helmet. I wanted to recreate Notre Dame's shiny helmets and finally found a good way to do that. Primary logo and the stripe is a lightning bolt. Jerseys: Basically the same design from last time. Except the gold accents on the home jersey are the same golden pattern as on the helmet. I tried so hard to get a vegas gold that looked good but could never come up with a good color. Kept the alt a flat gold. Pants: Loved what my school has done by adding gold pants two years ago, but I do miss the blue-on-blue and the white-on-white that we were known for. Well I brought that back. The gold pants are now shiny, just like the helmets. Design: The font is Rainbow Warriors. I know it is basically a chargers copy but this is pretty much what they had before a local company and nike gave them a generic design. I listened to sleuthpanther and made the outlines on the lightning bolts more consistent (thanks to him for that). I didn't want to put a white outline on the gold bolt because it really cluttered it. Thanks so much to Conrad for the fonts, all the fonts I use are from Conrad. And another huge thank you to Matt Wilcox for the template. I can't remember who created the helmet template but thank you to them. C&C is appreciated and I can't wait to post the next team.   7. This is my first time trying my hand at a logo redesign. I had this Ravens concept sketched up awhile ago, and just now felt comfortable enough to try it out in Inkscape. I'm sure there's something that could be upgraded or changed, so get that C&C rolling! Feedback much appreciated.
  8. Hey guys! This is my first time posting my own topic on the boards so let's see how this goes. This thread will consist of my Football uniform concepts for the Atlantic Sun Conference, a D1 non-football conference. Notes: I know I'm using an old template, so I'll apologize in advance for that. A lot of this was using the paint bucket tool but there are a few instances of brushes, pen tool, etc. Lastly, this is my first concept so I know it's not the best by far, and C&C is completely welcome, and changes will be made accordingly.   9. My concept for an athlete log like Lebron, Chris Paul, RG3, etc... I think I have a good start, want to get some feedback on it. Put it in the Cardinals colors, cause well, we need him haha.
  10. Once again; this would not end up being used by the school. They have tooooo much invested in Herbie looking guys. But I tried to think of some mascots that fit the name, region, and aren't human. Because let's face it, it won't be long until all human mascots will offend someone. My 2 options here are: Raccoon- They are always raiding the corn fields, cribs, and silos. They are from the animal family Musteloidea so they fit in the BIG10. They have peopleish hands so to get to the corn they actually husk it. They are un-used in D1. Drawback- many farmers hate them. Scarecrow- They are associated with fields/corn fields. Human-ish so it's not as far of a move from Herbie. They are un-used in D1. They are often stuffed with corn husks. Drawback- seem to be either too creepy or too friendly. Here are the looks: Raccoon: Not sure about the eyes A B Scarecrow: Let me know what you think. If you think they should just have a Herbie, then explain why in a way that is not "because that's what they've always had".
  11. Here is a small introduction, you can skip and go right to the uniforms if you'd like, but it all started when I was pretty young. I bet right around 10 years ago I created a fictional university based out of Grand Rapids, MI that I would create paper ice rinks and paper players and play games with it. As the years passed, the idea grew more and more becoming an entirely fictional-based college sports world called the NACA (National Association of Collegiate Athletics). I will not bore you with the specifics of that, but it's basically a 200 team world. When NCAA Football 2011 came out with TeamBuilder, everything changed. My fictional university which was just based on notebooks, now became something I could design and play games with. Southern Michigan University (known as the Knights) and the Great Lakes Conference became a reality. My 13 year-old self went online to find a logo (which I cannot identify and am no longer able to find it online, good thing I have it saved) and came up with this primary mark. This whole thing has evolved into probably over 100 files of different information from year by year results, to all-time draft picks. As I've gotten older I created a few secondary logos which I use throughout most teams. Here is a few quick notes before I show off the uniforms; Nike took over as the official athletic apparel provider for SMU in 2014, Nike began incorporating Battle Scars design into most of the teams uniforms this past season (you'll see it throughout all the major teams).   12. Let me start by saying that this is NOT intended to replace the grinning Goldy. Also, I KNOW that the school would not replace the current Goldy with this one. After I did the Michigan Wolverine and Wisconsin Badger I thought I'd try to give a similar feel to the Minnesota Gophers. I used the 13 striped ground squirrel for reference; no it's not a gopher but judging by Goldy's tail it's what he is based off of and many people call the ground squirrel a gopher. I think it turned out to have a good balance of cute and fight. Comment with your thoughts.
  13. Before I'm away for the weekend, I thought I'd leave you with this new design and a few thoughts. I was recently inspired to draw-up a falcon image and while working it out I chose to think metacognitively about my process. What follows are a list of some of the thoughts that were........thunk. 1. Lets see what a falcon looks like Search for falcon images 2. Falcons have big eyes and a small beak compared to eagles and hawks, that's a distiguishing feature Draw out the shape of a basic falcon head 3. An angled pose would be most dynamic Search falcon in stoop or stooping falcon stooping is a funny word Add more slant to composition 4. They almost have an innocent look to them 5. Try to keep some of the innocent look 6. I wanna keep that ring around the eye, that's a distiguishing feature 7. Since the eye doesn't have much anger, what makes them scary? They are FAST..... lightning shapes They have a black colored eye... no yellow in the eye itself like hawks and eagles, that's a distiguishing feature Search falcon screeching 8. Erase closed beak, draw in open mouth 9. Keep dark portion of beak, that's a distiguishing feature 10. Work in the dark shape in the feather colors on the face 11.   14. Hey, all. So, I like to play the mobile game My Singing Monsters. It's a guilty pleasure of mine. Anyway, I thought it might be cool to make some of the characters from that game into team mascots. Because I don't have a lot of experience using templates in PhotoShop, I decided to just create it on EA Sports' TeamBuilder website. So far I've just mocked up a home uniform for one team.   15. Sports has been a part of my life since the beginning. One of my biggest interests in design is sports identities. When I was young I was often drawing a team logo, colouring in a jersey or creating my own versions. In mid–2016 I took on a 70 day challenge for a project I was doing in school. I knew this would be tough to handle so I decided the make it more suitable to my interest. The goal of this challenge was to redesign an existing sports logo every day for 70 days. Each logo redesign involved preliminary research about the team/city, sketching out all my ideas on paper, executing a digital version through Illustrator. I ended up creating a booklet with small rationales for my thinking, design choices and overall thoughts on the project. Sportslogos.net was a place I went to every day to discover new teams to redesign.

  17. Around two years ago I created a Norwich City F.C. logo redesign in a minimalist style. It wasn't very strong and I didn't put much effort into. So, for an assignment in my Corporate Design class we had to redesign an existing brand. I saw this as a great opportunity to reimagine what I did back in 2015. I developed a custom typeface based off the angles used in the brand elements. The pattern was inspired by panels on a standard soccer ball and mesh found in a soccer net.   18. Year is 2020. With the fall of the AFL (Arena Football League) and the popularity of small competing league. I was thinking of what it would look like to completely consolidate every arena football league into one super league. Hence the American Indoor Football League comes to life. All teams would play in the main league for year one but afterwards, teams would be put in a relegation system. Once the two tiers are made in year two, the top five times from Tier 2 would move up to Tier 1 and the worst five teams in Tier 1 would move to Tier 2. Every team will stay in what city they are currently in with possible room for relocation and/or expansion, But team logos, colors and identities will change. I need your guys help! You CAN start a team (become the gm), find a location, design the uniforms and logos. 1. Tell me what team will be your choosing, location to play and design a winner.

The league's games are set to be played on Wednesdays and players and easily be called up to the NFL. The league is made to accompany 30 teams.   20. Some of you may remember me from the series I posted on here two years ago where I redesigned the entire NFL. I've decided to try my hand at it again, now that I've got two more years of experience and some new ideas. However, I'm also a lot busier than I was two years ago, so don't expect this series to be updated frequently. I'll post stuff here as I make it and make edits on the fly.   23. I am posting some 2016-2017 game bowl posts you for anybody that would like a desktop wallpaper. My only thing with these is I am sure about the bars I put the team name in. I feel like they are a little plain but Im not sure what I can do with them. But that just me if you feel differently about the team text or have any suggestions on how I can fix them just please me know. I all will probably constantly update some of these if the schools announce they will be wearing a different helmet then the ones I already made. All feed back will be much appreciated!
