  1. Hello, I am looking for some inspiration for developing a Helmet Decal for a local school. The team is called the railroaders and the only colors they use are blue and white. The Coach really wants the word railroaders to be incorporated somewhere in the design, I am not a huge fan of big script letters on helmets so I went with a think smaller block font. He also wants to ensure that people understand that railroaders are the people that worked on building the railroads not people who worked on trains, so I am debating doing some sort of mascot depicting a railroad worker. I guess I am looking for help in which way I should take this logo. It is not apart of a rebrand just simply redesigning the helmet logo because a new coach was hired. What they had in previous seasons is below. This is just a rough mock of what I think may look good any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated!
  2. It seems like every year as details trickle out that teams are getting new uniforms, some random 'source' pops up claiming to have seen the uniform in question and provides an over the top description that sends this board into a frenzy. Maybe it's not a good idea to enable these rumors with mock ups but I thought it would be fun to take these crazy ideas and make concepts out of them. Cleveland Browns The rumor: White helmets, 'total overhaul' Added numbers to the helmet, reversed the number/shadow colors on the home and away. Took the notched stripe design from their current look and kept it floating within the sleeve a la OK State/extended it further down the pant leg so that it's almost a full stripe again. White striped socks for all, orange alt, and white fauxback for the Color Rush. Denver Broncos The rumor: the Color Rush jersey becomes the primary Kept the logo and number font from the current look, brightened the colors back to their earlier shades, added white and blue jerseys/pants. Orange remains the Color Rush. Here's every Broncos concept on this board ever Denver: Thanks for checking these out, I have a few more that I'll be posting in a bit.
  3. The Baltimore Ravens' logo has been in service since 1999. During that time they won the Super Bowl twice (2000,2012). Having that history tied to their current logo puts my concept at a disadvantage, but here it is: Undecided if I like the gold line/white beak or white line/gold beak.
  4. I was looking through the NFL logos on the mother ship and this one stood out to me as one to try to rework. The shape has always seemed off to me and I realized that it is because this head was lifted off of the full (human) bodied Chicago/St. Louis Cardinals logos so it doesn't give much of a full bodied bird feel. The head seems to taper down into a human-like neck area. So here is my take: No highlight vs highlight? I'm still undecided as to whether it would "fly" as an NFL logo or if it's just a nice cardinal logo. C&C appreciated.
  5. Hello all! I had some ideas brewing in my head and decided to get them out. Here's my ideas for World Cup kits for Japan and Korea. Japan - The primary kit is a more purplish blue with silver and pinkish red accents*, and the front number is encased on a subliminated sun. The secondary kit is a white-to-black gradient with the number inside the red sun from the flag. I went with just the crest on both kits instead of the usual flag-and-crest combo the team normally uses, because I thought it looked a little less cluttered. Korea - I wanted to keep the "Red Devils" primarily red, but draw some inspiration from the flag also, hence the yin-yang inspired design. The secondary kit draws inspiration from the flag also in the way the colors are used; accented with blue and red with a curvy mini-sash, I made the numbers black to use all the colors of the flag. The third kit is a black set with red and blue accents that I felt made for a good alternative for Korea. Let me know what you think! *EDIT: The pinkish Red looks more reddish on mobile than on desktop for some reason
  6. The Falcons are overdue for a fresh look. In my opinion, their old look wasn't a bad one, but Arthur Blank wanted to forge a new winning identity, so I get why the brand was changed. It's unfortunate that such a classic and strong logo had to fall victim to association to decades of losing. My idea is to go back to the old branding, but not all the way. I kept the current forward tilt of the current logo, as well as the aggressive bird's eye and overall feel to the classic logo. I did some styling to the wing feathers for a more aerodynamic look, and updated the bird's head and beak to look more like a bird of prey than the old, docile head of the classic logo. I may play around with helmet/uniform concepts along this line, so stay tuned! Here are the old and current logos for reference:
  7. Okay. State your straight-up (without point spread) predicted winner of Super Bowl LII. Feel free to add whatever other game-related predictions you'd like. I don't have a dog in the fight, but I think the Patriots are going to win.
  8. The Tennessee Titans' logo and uniforms and I have had a bit of an on-again-off-again relationship over the years. When I first remember seeing them in the Super Bowl against the Rams in 2000, I was in love with the logo, cuz, you know, FLAMES!!!!!!!! I was five then. As I got older, I soured on the logo, thinking the flames were over the top and the Titans would be better off using the sword alternate logo or the thumbtack roundel. The Titans' refusal to wear reasonable uniforms combos also drives me nuts. The helmet striping doesn't really go with anything and the brashier stripes on the pants don't feel right with the yoke, which has gotten too small over the years. The Uniforms have some good ideas, but I'm not crazy about the execution. Lately, the uniforms are still a mess, but I have come around on the idea of flames for the Titans. I think that is something they can own and it really just works. I do not care for the T logo. Besides the comparison to a thumbtack as far as it's shape goes, it feels small contained within the shield or roundel or whatever the circle is. The Titans logo should be big, "titanic" and the T should be the focal point, IMO. I threw out the bathwater, but kept the baby. The colors remain the same, but the Flaming T is bigger and bolder. I don't think this is a finished product but I'm also not entirely sure what parts of the logo needs more work so, please feel free to offer and C&C. I would really appreciate it. Once the logo gets to a good place, I'll work on some new uniforms to go with the updated logo. Thanks for having a look.
  9. I might have discussed this before, but years ago I was really intrigued by the Asia Pacific Football League. It was a proposed professional American football league that would have teams in China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Hawaii. The league had the backing of investors in Hong Kong and former Dallas Cowboys player Preston Person as a "consultant". The league was to launch in 1999, the pushed back to 2000. After that.... well nothing. All there is are a few logos and a dead website that can be found on Wayback Machine. I've tried to find news articles from that time, but no luck, even though I do remember at least one article. Regardless, enjoy the logos that I found from their website. And if your curious the teams were: Sharks, Dragons, Express, Pandas, Stallions, Dolphins, Warriors, Typhoon, Fighting Cocks, and Elephants. 10. I think the Eagles have a great logo and I'm a big fan of their midnight green color, but I think they just have too much going on with black, charcoal gray and silver accompanying the green. In my opinion, the Eagles look best when they are wearing only green, silver and white, so this concept is more of a clean-up than a full on rebrand. I was also inspired by what the Detroit Lions did with their logo an uniforms this past season. Those are not perfect, but I really like the idea of what the Lions did. Here's my take on the logo: nothing too exciting, the green is a touch more green and the black is gone. The new wordmark is my take on a simpler, less "XTREME" version of the current wordmark and is more in line with the contemporary branding in the NFL: bold, single color lettering with some serifs and a bridge shape to give it some character. Here are the new home and road uniforms. Less is more as the uniforms are reminiscent of the current duds but are without the needless clutter of superfluous colors and embellishment. The Color Rush uniform is gray in the same style of the primary uniforms and the regular alternate uniform is a midnight green version of the classic throwback uniforms thanks to the one-helmet rule. So, thats it. Thanks for taking a look and I'm definitely open to any and all C&C and feedback.
  11. We've already had multiple threads about the best-looking uni matchups in Super Bowl history. With the conference title games upon us today, let's look at some of the best ALMOST Super Bowl matchups. The rules are: 1. Both teams were in their respective conference title games that season. 2. One or both lost said title games. 3. They have never played each other in a Super Bowl in any year. 4. The pic posted shows the most likely uniform matchup if they had played that year. Here are a few: Super Bowl XIV (1979 season) - Oilers vs. Buccaneers: Super Bowl XV (1980 season) among MANY others - Raiders vs. Cowboys (pic actually from 1980 season): Super Bowl XX (1985 season) - Dolphins vs. Bears (pic actually from 1985 season): Super Bowl XIV (1989 season) - Broncos vs. Rams: Super Bowl XXVIII (1993 season), the fourth time in a six-year span that both these teams were in their respective title games together; in fact, one or the other appeared in seven straight Super Bowls, but never both - Bills vs. 49ers:
  12. It's been my impression that Arizona's current number font is not terribly popular with the majority of members on the boards. (Am I right in thinking that?) While I don't think they're the best-designed numbers I've ever seen, I think they do have quite a bit of potential. I don't care for the pointed serifs, though they do balance out the weights of the various numbers and, along with the rounded parts of the counters, add a certain character to the set. And, as a rule, I don't like open-topped 4s. So, with a skew toward giving Arizona's numbers a "throwback" or classic look, I made changes to the set. I'm not a designer by trade, and I certainly don't claim to understand the intricacies of type design (especially intentional design to improve readability, etc.), so I am open to any and all C&C. The original Nike set is on top, and my variation is on the bottom: I think perhaps the most changed and potentially generic number in my update is the 4. I didn't know exactly what to do with it, but leaving it open wasn't an option so as to not break my rule. Ha. I realize that with Nike's original, the angle of the left side of the 4 appears to match the angle in the 7 and 9. In my version, I kept the crossbar at the same height, but closed the top. I think there are a lot of variations for the 4 though: I think of the 6 options here, no. 2 may be the one that stays closest to the original while closing the top. Anyway, thoughts?
  13. Little project I’m doing for fun, I’d like some criticism on the first team or so before posting the whole project. Yes this is handrawn The team name is Kansas City Thunderstorm based off of the storms you typically get in the Midwest. Their colors are a pinky purple, based off the sunsets you get at evening, black, based off the dark clouds and yellow based off lighting, all the colors you’d see during an evening storm. The logo is a K fused with a lighting bolt. But it’s also a hidden c and T Hope this link works https://imgur.com/gallery/RYt5w
  14. On April 21, 2001 at the conclusion of the first of that American staple we call "The Big Game at the End", as we watched the Xtreme lift that big X over their heads, we thought that the XFL would be taken away from us forever. But apparently, there are rumblings that the X Football League might be fixin' to make a comeback! Now if that's true, which I hope it is, first of all I'll be tuning in for sure, and second of all they're gonna have to tone down the 2001 more than a few notches. Especially with NFL ratings in steep decline this season, this is the perfect time for Vince McMahon to swoop in and create the Anti-NFL, or the Xtra-Fun League, if you will. But image is everything. And safety, safety's probably in there somewhere too. We'll see. So I want to get way out ahead of the rumors and set up what I think would be a fitting return for the XFL 18 years later. I'm not gonna quibble over the actual rulebook, I'll let them figure that out, but I do know what I'd like to see design wise. Here are my design rules: 1. There are no rules! Actually, there are a few. They're right here. 2. No white allowed. Off-white is allowed in small doses, as well as silver, but stark white is not allowed on Logos, Uniforms, or Merchandise of any kind. 3. Helmets are a canvas. No more small, tame, rinky-dink helmet logos. Helmets should be loud and expressive of a team's design, serving as the centerpiece of their uniform. 4. 3 logos per team, no more and no less. They are as follows; Insignia: main logo, Proxy: secondary, Character: letter logo 5. 3 uniforms per team, no more and no less. They are as follows; Base: worn at home, Clash: worn on the road, Army: outside the box third jersey worn at home. 6. Unique NOBs are still allowed, but have to be approved before being applied to jersey. So there you have 'em, my official design rules for the XFL! I'll be following these closely for all eight teams (more on teams ahead). The New Official Logos of the XFL The original XFL logo was rushed and horrible, so I wanted to make a logo that would completely change people's view of the league. Modernized, but as no nonsense as always. This was my creative process, pardon the roughness. Early thoughts were that I'd like to include a lightning bolt in the X or make the X from negative space, but I ended up choosing something closest to the lowest logo on the center left because I liked the unique shape and inclusion of a football. After some retooling, I ended up with a result I'm really happy with that includes an Insignia, Proxy, and Character logo for the league. The Insignia uses a combo football/shield shape with half of the X made by stitches; football or otherwise. Teams Here's the thing, I don't know the teams yet. I know the cities, but I don't know the teams. The reason being this is going to be a step-by-step project so I'll be including my entire process, part of which is choosing the names of all 8 teams. I'd love to hear any names you can come up with as well! Here are the eight locations: Boston (new) Chicago Detroit (new) Las Vegas California New York St. Louis (new) Texas (new) So there it is, The new XFL! What do you think of the idea, setup, and first trio of logos? Your feedback is incredibly important to me, so don't hold back with the C&C! Thanks guys, and stay tuned for Boston!
  15. Hello all! With the college football season all but over, it's time to look to the NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns completed their winless season and have the first overall pick as well as the 4th overall pick (from the Texans). Sam Darnold appears to be on a fast track to Cleveland, so here he is in a Browns jersey. This is my first ever jersey swap and I would love to get all of your guys' thoughts on what i can improve. More guys to come! Thanks for looking. ORIGINAL: JERSEY SWAP:
  16. Hi guys! Well, I'm starting this new project here in the forum. My idea is to imagine the NBA franchises as MLS franchises. It's a simple thing, I think other people should have done it here, but I think it's worth bringing my vision to you. The shirts will be made in alphabetical order, and starting from the beginning, let's go to the Atlanta Hawks! HOME JERSEY AWAY JERSEY THIRD JERSEY CITY EDITION JERSEY
  17. Hello! In this topic I will post the concepts of football shirts I am making. I thought it was better to make a topic for all football shirts than to create one for each league, but I'm going to post concepts here for clubs around the world! 18. Hello everyone! I came here to show my new project, which basically is: I get football players in their current clubs, and put them in the same clubs, but in other times. Simple, but I think it's very interesting! If you want to see my creative process, and see some posts ahead of time, follow me at instagram.com/donelece. 20. With rumors floating of a possible comeback of the XFL, I remembered the last time Birmingham, Alabama had a pro outdoor football team. Up until the United Football League, there had been a Birmingham team in most startup pro football leagues. Now timeline may be a bit iffy like the last look back I did but I hope you will get a general sense of what the teams were like. This is little simpler than last time as many of teams lived brief lives. Sometimes glorious, sometimes not. First off, we have the 1974 Birmingham Americans of the World Football League, they will be first Birmingham team in the WFL and the only champions as the league fold shortly into its 2nd season. The logo was an A that alluded to the American flag with 3 red stripes making up one half of the A and a solid blue part making the other. Pretty prominently featured is the star made out of the negative space created by the blue and red halves, A little blue triangle was added at the bottom to complete the star. There were two alternate logos that were used This one is the primary logo with an Birmingham Americans wordmark up top. Birmingham being in blue and Americans in red. The 2nd had the blue wordmark moved to the right side and the font changed The road jerseys were blue with white numbers and an alternating red-white stripes on the sleeve Pants were white complemented by a red belt and had a blue stripe bookended by red -white stripes on both side. Pants were not changed for home jerseys Home jerseys were white with blue numbers outlined in red and there was an alternating red-blue stripe on the sleeve. it appears the 0 and holes in 8 in the numbers on sleeves ere filled in with red Socks were the same for both home and road with a pattern of blue-white-red-white-red-white-blue Helmets were white with grey facemasks and the primary logo were on both sides. There was a blue stripe bookended on both sides by a red stripe. The Americans would fold after the 1974 WFL season but was replaced with the Vulcans for the 1975 season The Vulcans primary logo was a blue V with a red flare enclosed in a blue circle. The V was designed to resemble a torch with the flare being a flame, the V following in the Americans footsteps used negative space to create a shape which in the Vulcans case was a football. The alternate logo was the torch V placed in a blue wordmark Uniforms did not change much. Socks were same for both road and home. blue-red stripes bookending a white stripe in middle. Helmets essentially the same aside from a logo change and the addition of a blue facemask Although the WFL went under, the Vulcans moniker would resurface in the American Football Association a few years later. As this is a bit obscure minor league football team, scant info exists on the web. The AFA Vulcans ditched the red, white, and blue color scheme of the previous Vulcans and opted for red and black. The primary logo can be seen as a spin on the Americans land Vulcans logo. As it is the Americans A and the letter V conjoined together. This time with no negative space in the A which is replaced by a football. There still is use of a negative space to create a torch with the insides of a V. Only uniform I could find is a black uniform with red number outlined in white. The stripes on the sleeves were orange-white-orange-white-orange. Atop the numbers, you can see there is a Vulcans wordmark in orange outlined in white. The V is made of three red stripes and a black part. The V makes a torch out of the negative space and a flame
  21. I don't know if it's too early to start this thread but I'm going to kick it off anyways. There are rumors that PJ Fleck is going to completely overhaul Minnesota's uniforms next year. Georgia Tech will be with adidas next year.

  24. Army Navy is first, because Army Navy is awesome. More to come, give the helmet you want, if you request. First come, first serve, unless i've already made that helmet. Edit: Decided it would make most sense to add the new ones to this first post.
