  1. So we've all seen em, but I want to make them better. Here's Detroit: I would like to thank @raysox for the template and New Era for being bad at designing draft caps so I can fix them.
  2. I have this old 3930 that I used to wear for softball. I can not locate a new one (looks like they only make 5950 in this style for expos - struck out at Lids, eBay, and google) so what’s the best way to clean it? The dirt is on there pretty good, and it’s pretty “hard” from years of sweat. Looking for tips on cleaning or other places to look for a new one.
  3. I absolutely loved what New Era started in Minnesota at the 2014 MLB All Star Game by designing special All Star caps that honored the host team. The potential was set up for new caps every year on All Star night to tell a different story about a host team's uniform history or local culture, while also allowing the game a rare chance to have some fun and get creative with their usually sacrosanct brands -- not to mention increasing merchandise sales in the process. Unfortunately, that was a trend that only lasted two seasons. So in an effort to show what could have been, each season I take it upon myself to continue what New Era once started and design my own city-centric concept caps for the MLB All Star Game. For the 2018 ASG in Washington D.C., I dipped into the city's baseball past to help inspire the cap design, while also taking cues from that time period and D.C.'s world-famous cherry blossoms to create a campaign that celebrates the nation's capital as well as the national pastime. To view the entire cap collection along with additional merchandise, plus a look inside the design process and inspiration, visit my website.
  4. After two full re-designs (NFL & NHL), I've decided to take on a less daunting project and just have a little fun. This thread is simply just MLB cap designs. I will be doing designs for all 30 teams and some extra defunct teams. I'll be creating 9 different caps for each team. There is no real rhyme or reason to any of my designs. They're simply just what I was feeling at the moment. As usual, I'll give a brief explanation of each design and why I did what I did for the respective team. As always, I'm open to ideas from any of you or what you'd like to see. Once completed, I may go back and add jerseys for each. But, for the time being, I'm strictly sticking to the caps. Some elaborate and others will be very traditional. Lastly, there's no specific order I'm going in, so if you have a request of what you'd like to see next, feel free to shout it out. That being are the first two teams. San Diego Padres I may fall into the majority on this one, but when I think of the Padres, I think brown and yellow. It's unique, and quite honestly I think works well for them. Most of these caps are based around that color scheme with the modern SD logo. I did throw a few in there with the blue and orange of the 90s (personal preference). If I had to choose a primary, it would be one of the three on the top row. The others would be BP/Throwback ideas. Boston Red Sox Boston is one of those classic teams. Again, if I'm going primary, it would be the top left design. Keeping it simple. The rest are mixed and matched color schemes along with some retro logos.
  5. There are so many good ones and many that use baseball-only logos. One of my favorites is Miami's. Classic
  6. Just curious - does anyone know when the NFL began officially issuing it's draft picks team hats? If so, I think it'd be awesome for them to be catalogued either here or elsewhere. Fashion hats and team merchandise on the whole can be kind of a slippery slope, but the draft hats feel more official than some of the rest. 1989 - Barry Sanders - Looks like a mesh back with embroidered front script. 1990 - Jeff George, Junior Seau, Blair Thomas - Green underbills (I feel like that's a traditional feature, but am uncertain), and embroidered script is basically the same as Sanders in the above picture. 1993 - Drew Bledsoe - White border on bill and team logo seems more prominently displayed. 1998 - Peyton Manning - can't tell much about detail but maybe wool? Looks cheap/wrong size. 1998 - Charles Woodson - same year as Manning, but cap has a different shape behind it and the bill looks to have a design as well. ------------- From what I can see it looks like they may have started in 1989. If anyone has any evidence of older official team hats being worn on draft day, that'd be awesome. Better pictures of the hats themselves from the older years are hard to find.
  7. Every once in a while I see someone post a link to where you can order their custom logo on a shirt or jersey, vinyl logo, or something. If you miss it on that initial posting, it generally gets lost in the aether. If you've created some merch for your custom logo, post it here. Preferably, it would be neat if you could post a pic of your logo, a link to the thread where it was originally discussed, and the link to where your merch is. I know there are tons of logos on here that I'd love to just be able to fire off a quick order for a shirt. Also, this would be a good place to consolidate all the various sites that allow for one-off or very small run printings of stuff, and the pros and cons of each. I know some let you just print it directly off of mini-stores, and some require minimum orders before printing, and some put you in a run-off against another design. If you're not making merch, why not? (mods, if this sort of thing is frowned upon, please delete this thread)
  8. Hey guys! So for those of you who caught the debut of the Ordinarie O© NHL fitted project, this is an extensions of that very project. Through out the season, I'll be creating special edition fitted caps for teams and players as they hit certain milestones within the season. Now I'll be honest... I won't be able to keep up with every single team and each of their players, but I'll highlight what I can catch wind of to create these fitteds in a timely manner. Well anyways, here's the first batch of Special Edition Aesthetic O'Caps making their debut: 1. Philadelphia Flyers / Michal Neuvirth for his back to back shutouts against the Panthers & Blackhawks to equal 61 saves total. 2. Minnesota Wild / Zach Parise for his hat trick against the Colorado Avalanche. 3. Tampa Bay Lightning / Steven Stamkos for hitting his 500th career point. 4. Chicago Blackhawks / The hawks for their 2014/2015 season Championship. Be sure to catch all of the Special Edition Aesthetic O'Caps and more custom fitteds on Tumblr & Instagram. And just so y'all know, not everything will be posted here in the forums. I'll only be posting in the forums every once in a while to showcase some new fitteds and to keep promoting the project. So make sure you follow those two social platforms if you have them. Enjoy guys!
  9. What do you guys think of MLB teams that have on field hats they don't wear anymore, but keep around for the fans to buy? Such as the Marlins orange hat (tragic), the reds black hat, the Red Sox hanging sox hat, etc.
  10. Hello all, I've been a fan and reader of the forum for many years but I haven't done much posting, nor have I shared a concept until now: I thought I'd do a concept series a little different from the 'norm' and focus on the New Era bating practice caps we've all come to know and love hate since their presence in a team's brand has become relevant. 1. Arizona Diamondbacks- I created my own alternate logo for the D-Backs for their bating practice cap. The logo is a snake emerging from a baseball that takes obvious cues from the D-Backs 'D' logo. I've never really been a fan of their color change from purple/black/teal/copper to sedona red/sand so rather than wear the on-field cap, I wear a cap I like much better. As such I've inverted the logo's of the 'D' snake for my logo. Enjoy. Cap Logo BP Cap
  11. Here is a quick rebrand I did for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. I wanted to give them a timeless look that represented the organization as a premier baseball franchise with rich history. Let me know what you think.
  12. Just wondering everyone's opinion. Not gonna criticize anything this time. I might be biased, but I really enjoy everything for the 2014 game. The jerseys are cool, the logo has a clean design, and the hats are unique.
  13. So I have been looking at logos, teams, and batting practice hats around the MLB lately and have been thinking of ways that I think teams could better use the freedoms of batting practice hat design. So many teams had great opportunities to create a masterpiece when the new Diamond Era BP hats were being designed, but many of them dropped the ball. So for some teams I am suggesting a full on replacement, and others I am simply suggesting they use designs like mine as an alternate or road bp hat. First off let's start with the Tampa Bay Rays: This team wanted to be able to create an identity that the Fans could choose the meaning of when they changed from Devil Rays to just Rays. This could imply the Ray fish population found around Tampa, or it could suggest the golden rays of sunshine encountered daily in Florida. They already have the BP hats that feature the Sunray logo, but they barely use the Devil Ray fish logo. So, I designed a hat that could cater to the needs of fans like me who LOVE the Devil Ray. I suggest that this could replace the powder blue crown alternate hat, with the sunray on it, as the new alternate. It features an old Devil Rays logo that I edited to look modern and match the current uniform set.
  14. Hi everyone, This is my first post on this forum. As we all know, the MLB has new Diamond Era BP Caps. I'm a huge fan of them and came of with some different designs for each team that I thought I'd share. Even though I know photoshop, I have limited access to it, so these are obviously done with minimal editing capabilities and look pretty bad, so please understand. Ill go through them division by division, starting with the American League Central. Positve/Contructive feedback would be appreciated! MLB Camo hats

Ok so I know that these aren't the greatest designs, but the MLB has a hard on for camo hats on the holidays. So I figured I would do something with the current and recently released 2014 camo hats and make them a little more bearable. (P.S. These are not mean to be world class photoshop designs. Just simply drawn up concepts.) Here are the first two:
  16. MiLB is having a vote for who has the best hat in the Minor Leagues. The page keeps popping out two hats and you vote on which you think is the better of the two. Voting continues until May 22 Have fun gents (and occasional ladies) If you wanna take a peek at the leaderboard here you go
  17. Hey guys, I've recently been looking into buying a '47 Brand Franchise hat because I've never quite liked how New Era hats fit me. Unfortunately, no stores where I live sell '47 Brand so I am unsure of what size to get. For New Era hats, I am a 7 5/8 and my head measures 61cm. '47 Brand has a size chart on their website for the Franchise hats but both 7 5/8 and 61cm fall right on the cusp of the XL and XXL sizes. I was just wondering if anyone else has the same problem and could provide some advice on which size would be better. Thanks!
  18. I'd been looking for a decent baseball cap for the soccer team I support, Aston Villa. It occured to me on searching that European soccer really hasn't gotten on the Fitted/Snapback cap bandwagon like most sports over in the US and here in Australia. I hope this eventually catches on, because i'd love an Aston Villa 59fifty. So I was inspired to have a go at these. Thanks heaps to JayJackson3 for his cap template! A link to where you can find the template is here: I'd love to see some other people have a go at some European soccer 59fiftys, so don't be shy if you want your club represented or have a good idea.
  19. Okay, let me preface this by saying that I am in no way a basketball fan (or a Chigaco fan for that matter), but I am a huge hat person, I wear them everywhere. Never would I really buy a Bulls hat, I just have a question about the logo choice that they use for a lot of their hats and other apparel. Why does that dammed "Windy City" logo appear on almost ALL of the Bull's hats? I believe it was once an alternate logo, but why do the Bulls not use just the regular logo on the hats that they sell? Is it just a stupid fashion thing? Does everyone just think that logo looks "cool?" All other NBA teams use their primary?\I know at this point I'm rambling, but for some reason this really bugs me. I wonder if I'm alone... It just drives me crazy. I just need some closure and if anyone can shed some light on this that would be great. For those unfamiliar with what I'm talking about, here are some (ugly) examples. These are just a few examples, I wanted to show that in every adaptation there's that stupid "Windy City" cloud. Anyway, thanks for anyone that knows why this is!
