  1. I was not sure on making this as many other people could've. This is how you guys's predictions will work, you put what you think the teams rank before the name, and put west: in front of one and east: in front of another. Ex: West:Warriors1 East:Cavs3
  2. My not sure that the concept section is the best place to start this thread but I figured it would be more useful here then anywhere else on this forum. If it should be somewhere else, like in the sports logos section, Mods please move it to the appropriate place then. On to the thread... This is a database of fonts used by sports teams and leagues. This is NOT a "name this font" thread like this one. If you need to know the name of a font post it there. How the thread is organized... 1. There will be post that are sport/league specific (ex. one post might just have Pro Football, one might have Colleges, etc). 2. The team's font will be listed like this: 'Team Name''Year Introduced' '(Name of Font At It Would Appear In A Program)' - 'Link to Download Font' Example: California Golden Bears 2013 (Golden Bear) - https://fontsbyconrad.wordpress.com/2014/07/28/college-misc-fonts-pack-4/ 3. $$$ before the link means I was unable to find a free version on that font to download so you have to pay for it. 4. The fonts could be from a logo, uniform number, wordmark, etc. 5. If there is no year, then I didn't know the year it was introduced 6. If there is no parentheses with the font name, then it is the exact same name as the team name part. If you know a team font that isn't included or an error is posted, please post with appropriate information. Obviously there are a lot of links to Conrad's sports fonts site so thanks again to him for making all the fonts that he does. Do not use fonts that were created for personal use only for other reasons. Finally, fonts like Serpentine, City Bold, Aachen, and Copperplate are way over used in sports. NFL-CFL NBA MLB-MiLB NHL-AHL-ECHL Soccer NCAA-Colleges Nike Adidas Under Armour-Russell Athletic-Warrior Sports Rawlings-Richardson Caps-Other *****EDIT (7/30/16): Sorry but Conrad's fonts are no longer available for use.***** http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/108718-what-happened-to-conrads-fonts/?do=findComment&comment=2633407
  3. In this concept series I will include Home, Away, and Alternates for all 30 teams, as well as general and alternate courts. Enjoy! Atlanta Boston Brooklyn Charlotte Chicago Cleveland Dallas Denver Detroit Golden State Houston Indiana Los Angeles Clippers Los Angeles Lakers Memphis Miami Minnesota Milwaukee New Orleans New York Oklahoma City Orlando Philadelphia Phoenix Portland Sacramento San Antonio Toronto Utah Washington C&C is welcomed and encouraged!
  4. I Want some sonic boom back! Here's an Seattle Supersonics concept I made
  5. This is the first design of mine that I am uploading to this site. Pretty much all of the logos are a mashup of different logos I found. The name Lucky Buckets is from the famous Lucky Bucket Brewing Company originating from Nebraska. I thought it would be interesting to design a concept based on the brand. Let me know what you think and respectful criticism is more than welcome. BTW, I've used the program GIMP to do my designs, so I apologize that these aren't "professionally" done. Main Logo: Alternate Logo: Home Jersey Text Away Jersey Text Bottle-cap Logo NBA 2K Design
  6. here is a logo concept and uptate I did of 1990/91 - 1996/97 New Jersey Nets logo. logo. I´ve always thought it was an excellent logo. But the colors and finish were awful.
  7. Because there was no good picture here on Sportslogos.net on one of my favorite all-star logos in nba. I rebuilt it. And made some adjustments. among other things, so the wave's side follows the blue outer edge and removes some foam from the wave which I thought was unnecessary and superfluous. as well as changed the blue color.
  8. If Nike and the Dallas Mavericks decided to go all in on the Skyline design this season...... Special shoutout to Riley Gisseman for the jersey template. Please let me know what you guys think!
  9. It's Draft Day and essentially the start of the off season and since we've already got a few trades (ie-Dwight Howard, etc.) we might as well get this party started.
  10. What throwbacks from the big four major sports(NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL) that hasn't been seen before do you want to see in a game, a season, or for now on? Here's my first pick: The NFL's Tennessee Titans going with wearing the mid to late '60s Houston Oilers uniforms for a game would be cool to see, but that's me.
  11. Quick little concept here, with the NBA All Star Game approaching soon. The jerseys that were unveiled (or leaked, not really sure where we stand on that) were plain awful. I decided to whip up a quick concept using gold and silver as the main colors, and here's what I came up with. On the back collar is the NBA logo with "L" and "A" on either side, and on the chest is a star with the number of ASG the player has been selected to. I had originally tried to put the number of stars somewhere on the jersey, but with guys who have a lot of games under their belt (LeBron and his 14) it's hard to fit that many stars on a jersey in a good looking way. Anyways, here it is.
  12. I've been thinking about some of the changes that have been going on in the NBA (player movement, tanking, resting, etc.) and the leagues responses to them. The league has been fairly cooperative with the players, coaches, owners, and fans on these. You might say they've been rolling with them. To that end some more "rolling" needs to happen. There are still some problems that the league needs to address: - too many games (especially for the playoff teams) - long....mostly uneventful.... playoffs - super teams rolling over everyone So these are my thoughts on how to re-organize in order to address these problems: 1. Move Minnesota to the Eastern Conference: truth be told I'd prefer that they do away with conferences all together and just work with divisions (more on that later) but Minne is kind of an out-lier in the west anyway. They are much closer to eastern conference teams for travel's sake, moving them could cut some road trips by a bit. 2. Add teams in Seattle and Las Vegas: Both places will likely end up with teams in the future either way. This brings the league total to 32 teams. 3. Create 4 Divisions: The 32 teams work to make 4 eight team divisions Pacific: Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, Golden State, LAL, LAC, Utah, Las Vegas South West: Denver, Phoenix, OKC, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, New Orleans, Memphis Great Lakes: Minnesota, Milwaukee, Chicago, Indiana, Cleveland, Toronto, Detroit, Philadelphia Atlantic: Boston, New York, Brooklyn, Washington, Charlotte, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami 4. Cut down regular season: Each team plays every other team twice for 62 games, plus they play each team in their conference 1 more time through the year for 77 total games. This cuts the season by five games for everyone (player rest/ longevity). 5. Reformat the playoffs with march madness in mind: I don't mean all win or go home, but (and this is probably the most controversial change) 16 teams start the playoffs and the first round is win or go home. The 2nd round is a 3 game series, higher stakes. The conference championships and finals are 5 game series. The most playoff games possible would be 14 if no team swept the minimum would be 9 if a team swept through. This format could either help or hurt a super team, they could get beat in the first round game and get no redemption games. 6. Move toward no conferences: Eventually they could just rely on the divisions instead of conferences. Just change the schedule to play each team in their division twice more instead of every team in the conference once more (one less game). Then each division sends a team to the "final four" in the playoffs. This could also benefit the All-Star Game by taking the best 24 players in the league rather than 12 from each conference. [If you really like your leagues chopped up you could make my divisions into conferences and break each into 2 divisions] Well that's the idea that was burning itself into my brain while I was trying to sleep last night. Let me know what you think.
  13. I'm not a big basketball guy (in fact, this is my first basketball concept ever), but I'm an Atlantan and very displeased with the Hawks uniforms. The shift to navy blue and red 10-15 years ago felt foreign (I know they had worn those colors before, but it was so long ago) but was at least relatively harmless. I was excited to see an emphasis put back on the Pac Man logo as they slowly reintroduced him. However, the way the redesign was executed left me with a bad taste in my mouth. The red was very prominent. That much was good. Navy blue was out; also good. In its place was a dark gray...not the familiar black, but better, nonetheless. Where it really fell apart was the hideous volt. What a terrible color that looks so out of place! I also realize the Hawks have used lime green before, but they hadn't used it paired with these new colors. The red, gray, and volt felt like a cheap knockoff version of the Hawks I grew up with. The Hawks have such great inspiration to pull from, and the current iteration with the feather pattern misses the mark. Overly detailed, poor color balance (can I say gaudy?), too trendy and already outdated. Definitely not "timeless." I wanted to come up with a design that feels familiar for the Hawks but pushes the needle a bit. The Dominique Wilkins era uniforms were near perfect for the time but don't quite translate to today's NBA. The Hawks need to emphasize red, white, and yellow. The current red and black sets are screaming for some white to balance it out because the volt makes it look dirty and dingy. Black should definitely be used sparingly and in this case, I relegated it only to an alternate uniform. It works because black is familiar for Atlanta, but leaves the main uniforms untouched. Those sets don't need any black at all. I took the forward looking graphic of the script and applied it throughout the uniform: the front and back number, as well as the NOB. I skipped name and number outlines in the interest of letting the design do the talking. It has a "loud" script so I wanted to keep the rest of the set fairly minimalistic. I originally had a contrasting collar and shoulder trim, but I got rid of those for the same reason. I created the new Nike template from scratch and if there's interest I may release it. Still playing around with it and optimizing it for use. It includes all the various seams and mesh panels. _________________________________________ TEMPLATE RELEASE I have tried to make this pretty user friendly. Just pay attention when you're changing the color of the uniform to also swap the inner garment color. There's a shadow layer and if you disable that layer's visibility, then you can click the inner garment color and swap that. I tweaked a couple things from my original design: got rid of the dashed stitching and just made it solid since it's hardly visible, anyways...added a jock tag, inner neck detailing, etc. The file is an Adobe Illustrator file (which I believe should also open and be compatible within Inkscape). https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qnKqVYduUtFGMPYpiAdCT93F1Dt7s5Y0/view?usp=sharing
  14. I was inspired by this thread to release the Jersey History project I've been working on for the past two years. I'm a fairly new user and I realized the lack of a lot of classic jerseys (even some modern ones) from the database so I decided to make a more "complete" list on my own with just the front of the shirts. I realize now that I need a lot of help. I'm probably missing a lot of jerseys and maybe have messed up on some fonts or logos or even colors so I need the community to help me make a better database for the NBA's Jerseys. I'm going to start simple with the Bulls and the Lakers and post the others from there: Credits to TD for the Template.
  15. Logo Concept - Boston Celtics The Boston Celtics have a pretty timeless logo so for an update I couldn’t do anything too crazy. I mostly made the line widths a little more even, made the lettering better spaced on the outer circle. The biggest changes are to the Celtic’s vest and tie which is no longer gold and/or carrying an unnecessary number of clovers all over it.
  16. I want to start this off by saying that IMO much of the Timberwolves current set looks good (but I am a fan of the team). I am of the group of people that thinks they should reach back and use a blue/green/silver color scheme. I also think that the current "angry wolf head" looks like a strange wolf/coyote/saluki mix. All of these thoughts will show through in my concept. There are things about this concept that may have been tried, in another way, before; but it seems like this is the first time they're all put together into one concept. So I give you the Power of the Pack:
  17. Didn't see any posts about this, but they've changed to the Kings' colors and added a crown. http://www.kolotv.com/content/news/Bighorns-unveil-new-colors-logo-419910483.html http://reno.dleague.nba.com/news/reno-bighorns-unveil-new-color-identity-create-visual-connection-parent-club/

    NBA Football

So it's been a while since I posted but I have been working on a project for the last few months, took some time off, and came back to it. Well my new project is this, NBA teams as football teams. This idea came because I saw the new Timberwolves logo and thought that would look really good on a helmet, just like the old Michigan Panthers helmet. Well I put it on the helmet and then I realized there hasn't been a true concept on these boards in awhile since JPDesigns awesome thread a few years ago. With Nike's takeover of the NBA, I thought this was the perfect time to start a new one. I will be releasing each team alphabetically with the exception of the first team (the Minnesota Timberwolves). Just a few things about the thread that I feel like should be explained: -This is not an "edit the uniform" thread. This is basically just translating the uniforms on to a football uniform. Even though I hate some of the uniforms, I will not edit them. -Some uniforms will have basketballs in the logos because changing the basketball will change the logo. -NO JERSEY ADS. I hate hate hate the idea of them and wished the NBA never had them -One helmet rule does not apply (unlike the NFL). But for the most part, each team will only have 1 helmet. -The Home (Association?), Away (I don't know the stupid name for the away jerseys), and Alternates (statement) jerseys are all done -I created some alternate jerseys that may or may not be used by teams in real life -Once the 2nd alts (Community) jerseys come out I will be adding those -The teams that have unveiled throwbacks, I have completed. I even have completed some fan favorite throwbacks So here is the team that peaked my interest MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES HELMET: -Just like I said, I thought given the Michigan Panthers treatment to the logo, the helmet would be really cool -Normal glossy blue helmet and facemask -Wolf is howling at the star, just like the logo JERSEY: -Took the torso/shoulder stripes and put them on the shoulder caps -"WOLVES" on all 3 jerseys. I couldn't find a "MINNESOTA wordmark that was the same PANTS: -Same stripe, just flipped -Changed the coloring of the stripe on the blue pants that are worn with the green jersey. -Light blue pants would not be worn with the green jersey, and the green pants would not be worn with the blue or white jersey THROWBACK I had high hopes that the new uniforms would encompass and hearken back to the KG era uniforms. I was disappointed but I thought why not make the old uniforms then. Tree design on the collar and sleeve cuffs, just like the real jerseys I also created some concepts about what I thought the uniforms would look like before they unveiled them. I had the same idea as everyone else did, they would bring back the tree theme. Well they didn't, but I thought I would still show them on here. CONCEPT UNIFORMS Hopefully you guys like these concepts. And if not I always look forward to hearing the C&C. I will try to have a team up every day and the next team will be the Atlanta Hawks. Thanks guys
  19. The NBA season is officially underway tonight!!! Although we have seen plenty of the new Nike uniforms already, tonight is the real deal. There have been lots of mixed feelings with the release of many jerseys. I decided that I wanted to design my own NBA x Nike uniforms so they could look how I want them to: no sponsor patches, unique looks and a few updates. For my concepts, I had a friend create the template which I then color and design for each team. I went with a round neck for all the teams just because I think it looks the best. The NBA logo is on the back collar and hopefully the placement of the Nike logos is correct on the uniforms and shorts. Keep in mind that these are hand design and colored so once a line is drawn it's hard to erase. I tried to keep the overall look of the team similar to what they have now and just add my own spin on them. I actually started these concepts toward the end of last season and some of the player names that I put on the jerseys became incorrect as they moved teams or were traded in the off season. That caused me to have to redo some jerseys for the sake of me being a perfectionist. I don't have the entire league done yet but I will post them as they come. So, without further ado, the Atlanta Hawks Association and Icon editions. C&C is always appreciated and welcome. Enjoy!
  20. With the NBA City Uniforms released, let's take a moment to reflect on them. Personally, my favorite are the Indiana Pacers, as I love the nod to the Indy 500, with the finish line and the numbers in the circle Feel free to state your opinions here!
  21. /// Hey, the Boston Celtics have a recognizable logo. The only problem is that on a small scale, it is extremely hard to replicate. I wanted to create a simple yet effective mark that could take the place of the leprechaun at times when an easier to produce logo is needed. It comes in a one color variation and a two color variation.
  22. It's the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, Thats right. Last year I made ugly christmas sweater themed wallpapers for various sports teams. I'm opening it again. If you have and requests please let me know. I will also post all the ones from last year so there won't be any duplicates.
  23. I really like the look of team specific ugly Christmas sweaters with the snowflakes, Reindeer and other Christmas related imagery but I could never justify spending the 80 dollars for something I'm only going to wear one month a year. So I decided to use my photoshop knowledge to make ugly Christmas sweater themed wallpapers for my friends and I. Here are some I've made so far let me know your thoughts.
  24. As many (most?) of you know, the (vast) majority of people think the new/current Los Angeles Clippers logo sucks... and for good reason. But spontaneously - out of absolutely nowhere - I came up with a brilliant concept. If nobody has thought of this before, I might actually be surprised. (Maybe a little?) Well, check this one out! It's a prototype that exemplifies the best of minimalist design (which is the trend du jour), while incorporating elements that make way too much sense. And yes - the red and blue used here is EXACTLY the same as that used in the current and former Los Angeles Clippers logos. The logo looks like a boat, which is a stand-in for a Clipper ship - the Los Angeles Clippers, which were originally based in the naval city of San Diego (as the San Diego Clippers), borrows its nickname from the aforementioned seafaring vessel. The logo incorporates a stylized "LA" (which you can see here), and the bottom of the logo incorporates a part of a basketball, which is commonplace for NBA logos. (By my count, two-thirds of all NBA teams have this as part of their primary logo.) Not to brag, but I say that this idea is too good to ignore. If someone improves upon this design and it gets some serious press, I've done my job already. Thoughts? Disclaimer: This work, illustrated herein, is an entirely original concept by sj10689 (the original author of this thread); any other logos/designs which have already been created prior to the posting of this comment, that bear any (striking) similarity, or is (almost) exactly the same, constitutes a circumstance which is purely coincidental. Therefore, as sj10689 is verily the creator of this work, which was not in any way inspired by, nor copied from any other pre-existing works, sj10689 assumes full ownership of this property. P.S.: I go by "Adam_Halverson" outside the forums, on sportslogos.net. I reposted this concept on the Los Angeles Clippers primary logo page.
  25. Hmm, could this be a tease at some of the design elements on the new Pacers uniforms?
