  1. I really like the look of team specific ugly Christmas sweaters with the snowflakes, Reindeer and other Christmas related imagery but I could never justify spending the 80 dollars for something I'm only going to wear one month a year. So I decided to use my photoshop knowledge to make ugly Christmas sweater themed wallpapers for my friends and I. Here are some I've made so far let me know your thoughts.
  2. As many (most?) of you know, the (vast) majority of people think the new/current Los Angeles Clippers logo sucks... and for good reason. But spontaneously - out of absolutely nowhere - I came up with a brilliant concept. If nobody has thought of this before, I might actually be surprised. (Maybe a little?) Well, check this one out! It's a prototype that exemplifies the best of minimalist design (which is the trend du jour), while incorporating elements that make way too much sense. And yes - the red and blue used here is EXACTLY the same as that used in the current and former Los Angeles Clippers logos. The logo looks like a boat, which is a stand-in for a Clipper ship - the Los Angeles Clippers, which were originally based in the naval city of San Diego (as the San Diego Clippers), borrows its nickname from the aforementioned seafaring vessel. The logo incorporates a stylized "LA" (which you can see here), and the bottom of the logo incorporates a part of a basketball, which is commonplace for NBA logos. (By my count, two-thirds of all NBA teams have this as part of their primary logo.) Not to brag, but I say that this idea is too good to ignore. If someone improves upon this design and it gets some serious press, I've done my job already. Thoughts? Disclaimer: This work, illustrated herein, is an entirely original concept by sj10689 (the original author of this thread); any other logos/designs which have already been created prior to the posting of this comment, that bear any (striking) similarity, or is (almost) exactly the same, constitutes a circumstance which is purely coincidental. Therefore, as sj10689 is verily the creator of this work, which was not in any way inspired by, nor copied from any other pre-existing works, sj10689 assumes full ownership of this property. P.S.: I go by "Adam_Halverson" outside the forums, on sportslogos.net. I reposted this concept on the Los Angeles Clippers primary logo page.
  3. Hmm, could this be a tease at some of the design elements on the new Pacers uniforms?
  4. Decided to do a mini-series inspired by the Mariners "Past Meets Present" scheme. However, the reverse applies to this series, as I am taking the best/most infamous sports logos of the 90s and giving them a modern color refresh, rather than the other way around. I'm starting off with the NHL, before moving onto the NBA, and MLB (I'm skipping the NFL because the league significantly lacks iconic "90s" logos and colors). With regard to the NHL series, the logos featured are the only ones that had noticeable color changes. In my opinion, the Blues and Canucks old logos with their new color schemes look the best while the old Capitals logo looks the worst with its new scheme. Hope you enjoy this series!
  5. Here we go again..... It's been awhile since I dabbled with the Thunder's look. I'm starting off slow this time with a concept board. It shows several different configurations of bison/cloud looks. The key ideas/thoughts/buzz words here are; power - maleficent - foreboding. Let me know what you think.
  6. I was browsing major Chicago sports logos online and noticed a trend with every team except the Bulls. The Cubs, White Sox, Bears, Blackhawks and Fire have both "object" logos and a "letter" logos, respectively. However, the Bulls only have an object logo. I wanted to create a letter logo for the Bulls, but it had to be attached stylistically to the current object logo. My creative focus was on the horns. The way some bull horns curl made the most sense in creating lettering. A "c" curve looked somewhat natural, so I came up with two differing types of Bulls C's. I am still working on creating a final design that closely relates to the elements of the Bulls "object" logo, so these are by no means my final designs. I posted my designs here to gain some feedback from a community of graphic design enthusiasts and creators. -Grayson Woods
  7. Hello folks! I would like to share a uniform template I have created. It’s called the Nike NBA Aeroswift Uniform Template. It’s in Adobe Photoshop. On that document, I have created every element Nike and sports design enthusiasts can come up (ex. NBA logo placements, necklines, etc.). Play around with what I made there as you can turn them on or off on the Layers portion of the program. Download it on the link below this text. And please credit me if you’ll use my template for your future projects. Please and thank you. =D TEMPLATE (EDITED 08/30/17) SOURCE IMAGES (CTO) -TheRealPepman
  8. Los Angeles Clippers Rebrand, any feedback would be appreciated
  9. I presume this is already being discussed in a mega thread, but it's worth a conversation on its own: the Trail Blazers unveiled new logos yesterday. The article on NBA.com includes this delightful animation of their logo history: I like the update a lot: farewell ugly rhombus; good riddance pointless spiky things. But this doesn't actually fix the main problem I have with the logo, which is that it isn't a P yet could so easily be. I know, it's a B for Blazers, but city initials are always better than nickname initials. Besides, the NBA is even using the pinwheel as a P in an ad running across the top of the page: What is that supposed to be? "bresented by Moda"? "qresented by Moda"? Flip the pinwheel around, and it would be so much better.
  10. That's right the East vs West format is gone! players are voted into a "pool" of players and the top 2 vote getters become captains (like on the playground) and pick their teams from that pool. More details here: http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/20905491/nba-all-star-game-switch-formats-captains-pick-team-conference-affiliations What do you think of this shake-up?
  11. Here is a logo concept inspired by member mattr1198's concept (if on dribbble it'd be a rebound). I meshed the Windy City Bulls' logo with my own creations: I think they both look pretty sweet, but my edge goes to the left. What about you?
  12. Aaron Dodson from The Undefeated listed The 30 Best NBA Throwback Jerseys is response to Nike's announcement that eight teams will be wearing a Classic Edition uniform (READ: Throwback) this upcoming year. There's a lot to be said about Dodson's list, which needless to say, I don't agree with. So I thought I'd share ONE throwback for each 30 teams that I'd love to see worn. This isn't necessarily the best designed throwback from their team history, but more back to an era relatable to the fans and their history. Also, in the spirit of the NBA going with more Color vs. Color match ups, I decided to go with colored jerseys, especially since the Association Edition (READ: Home Uniform) will presumably be the only white jersey in team's collections. Anyways, here is my list. I'd love to see everyone else's opinions on what throwbacks you'd like your favorite team to sport next year or near future ...
  13. After doing individual logo series for both the Knicks and the Bulls, I decided to try and revamp the entire logo schemes for every team, featuring both a primary and an alternate or partial. I started off with the Central Division of the Eastern Conference: Milwaukee Bucks: The primary logo sees major changes to its overall structure, while keeping the same style and colors as the new scheme. First off, the deer's head is widened for a fiercer look. Additionally, I flattened out the bottom of the logo's base for smoother application on things like shorts and a better look overall. Additionally, on the primary, I reverted back to the long used style instead of the roundel they currently use. This features the newer text along with the Milwaukee city skyline. I think this offers up a more unique look. Chicago Bulls: This is nearly the same logo I used for my Chicago Bulls concept, just given a shorter nose and larger snout and minor refinements. The primary is similar in style to their current logo but it features a new font. Cleveland Cavaliers: I am not a fan of the new logo style whatsoever, but I do love the new font. Thus, I took advantage of that and used it for the primary logo and alternate. The two swords in the primary are familiar, but the blue (now black) has been cut out from the scheme entirely, leaving the classic crimson and gold. The alternate is a play on the current "C" logo they use, but featuring the new C for uniformity purposes. Now the logo combos actually look like they were made at the same time. Detroit Pistons: I love the current brand new Pistons primary logo, so I left it mostly in tact with only minor alterations to the color scheme featuring a brighter blue. I also added a border around the text to allow the name and city to pop more. The alternate is new, featuring the "D" comprising the hole of the "P" without being too overt like the previous logo of this style. I also added three wings in the spirit of the Detroit automotive logo history and to represent the 3 championships the pistons have won. Indiana Pacers: The Pacers basic logo has gone virtually untouched over the past 30 years or so. I updated the primary font and the logo, featuring a much more uniform 5 skid stripes extending from the ball and a new brighter color scheme. The alternate/partial features a checkered-style ball in line with the name, but I cut out the middle line for uniformity purposes. Let me know what you think. Next up will be the Atlantic Division
  14. Your team not in the playoffs? This is your place.
  15. Well its confirmed the numbers aren't huge. Actually looks really nice.
  16. This is a project I'd had in my head for a long time, and I finally decided to make it happen. My concept for the NBA to be taken outdoors for the first time in history, the NBA Blacktop Series. The BS if you will. As crazy as it sounds, I think it would be possible if done right for an NBA game to be played outside. I mean if they can do it with hockey, they can do it with roundball. The more outlandish part of the idea is a proposal for the game to be played on an actual street court, Chicago's Margaret Hie Ding Lin Park Court in this case. It would fit in well with the NBA's mindset and would be kind of like bringing players back to their roots, where it all began, on a humble street court. So below are all the facets of what I think this could/should look like. LOGO The logo for the Blacktop Series is simple and uniform, but still hanging on to some uniqueness while serving as a kind of ode to Chicago's Hie Ding Park, with the underside of the El tracks center stage on the logo and court alike. Any further games would fit this same half-circle logo template. SECONDARIES UNIFORMS The matchup for the inaugural Blacktop game is Pistons/Bulls which i think is a healthy enough rivalry, esp. city wise, to kick the series off. The jerseys are noticeably button-up which will serve as a distinct icon of outdoor b-ball. Chi-Town's uni has a black base with the colors of the city's flag as bold accent colors. The Flag Shield secondary from the event logo is the sleeve patch and the flag's four six-point stars are an accent underneath the numbers. Detroit's jersey is much more understated with the D from their new logo on the left breast and the new logo itself as a sleeve patch. Motor City silver is the base. SEATING PLAN C&C hugely appreciated as this is the biggest single project I've done yet, so I'd love to hear what you think of the first installment of the NBA Blacktop Series! Thanks guys
  17. The NBA has decided to expand and reorganize the conferences and divisions while adding 6 new teams. The base conferences and divisions will stay the same. Each division will move to six teams. 18. So with the recent NBA releases,I had some ideas... and decided to translate them into concepts. Some stuff will remain intact: Nike Swoosh to stay,4 uniform format as well, although I'll increase the throwbacks to 10. Ads,however, are not welcome in this project; I don't like them (the way they are, they're merely a superflous gimmick, tbh) Teams that comprised the playoffs will go first, then everyone else based on standings. I'll alternate between the Western and Eastern conferences,Western first since the champions are from there. So,let's start with the 2016/17 champs: the Golden State Warriors The "Association" and "Icon" uniform are based off their look from the first half of the 1990s. These two feature a sublimated "bridge" graphic on the bottom left, taken from the primary logo. The slate grey "athlete's mindset" uniform has the same design, albeit printed in yellow/blue,while the yellow "community" uniform is a simplification of their current look + bit of a fauxback. Up next: I'll try to fix the broken new Cavaliers unis...
  19. I always come across cool sports memorabilia and never know where to post it, so I figured this topic deserves its own thread! Post any unique sports memorabilia you find, whether it is online or from your own personal collection! This item is up on eBay and I found it super interesting... a team-issued jersey, custom-made for Angie Harmon, the now-ex-wife of Jason Sehorn: Probably a gift from the team after this awesome TV moment:
  20. Simply put ... the thread is of scrubs (or lesser caliber players) in jersey numbers a same team where an All-Star or HOF made that same number their own. Here are a few examples from the NBA ... E.C. Coleman, New Orleans Jazz Sidney Green; San Antonio Spurs Steve Kuberski; Boston Celtics Cazzie Russell; Los Angeles Lakers Rowland Garrett; Chicago Bulls.
  21. You guys are gonna hate me for this. So around the same time I had the idea for the Habs'ing the NHL thread, I had this idea: What if every NBA team had a home and away sleeved set of jerseys? Wouldn't want to see this play out in real life, but thanks to Nike taking over the NBA, we won't have to worry about it Anyways, just like in the NHL thread, not immediately planning on alternates, though my mood might change later on. Unlike the NHL thread, I'm just going in alphabetical order here, so kicking us off is Atlanta: So I'm still undecided if I like the whole Red, Volt, and Black scheme for ATL. But if I have to work with it, I guess I can. Biggest changes here is the pattern is limited to the sleeves, HAWKS is now on the home jersey and the shorts are symmetrical now. C&C welcome, Boston will be up next!
  22. Didn't see a thread for this: http://www.nba.com/jazz/nike1718?_ga=2.241182981.688412386.1502590075-2085097014.1496195062 http://www.nba.com/jazz/news/jazz-reveal-first-two-uniforms-2017-18-season
  23. What's Up! So I am fairly new to creating basketball concepts, but I've made some for several teams. Hit me up with some feedback and let me know what teams to do next!
  24. So, if anyone knows me well, I do not mess around with NBA often. As far as tradition goes, I know the most popular teams but other teams I'm not so sure on. In this case, I'm pretty sure the Knicks have some foundation with a traditional look, no? Well, this goes what I believe to be in a very different direction the Knicks have ever gone to. To me, it's a mix of traditional design with modern design. Not sure if I should continue this concept further (full on primary, secondary marks, white jersey, court design). Depending on the responses I may continue this. Hopefully, there is something to build on. Let me know! Template found @Webpixum .com
