  2. As a Dolphins fan, it gives me no particular thrill to upgrade the logo/uniform set of the team that beats up on us twice a year, but the current Pats set has felt stale- even if, in its own right, it has become a classic. The silver with New England's helmet and piping (and, yes, at one point, alternate jersey) has always felt kind of odd, but they've really made it their own- the winning they've done in the post-Bledsoe unis have all but solidified this set as a classic, irrespective of its aesthetic merits. The Pat Patriot logo, though, still seems to have a particular resonance with Boston sports fans, and in an attempt to have my cake and eat it too, I did a sort of cross-blend of eras by updating the Pat Patriot logo but keeping the sensibilities of the current set. Would love to hear thoughts! Logo: Home: Road: Alternate:
  3. I really like the look of team specific ugly Christmas sweaters with the snowflakes, Reindeer and other Christmas related imagery but I could never justify spending the 80 dollars for something I'm only going to wear one month a year. So I decided to use my photoshop knowledge to make ugly Christmas sweater themed wallpapers for my friends and I. Here are some I've made so far let me know your thoughts.
  4. Hi all, I got bored one-day and decided to use Nike's teambuilder website to re-design some NFL uniforms Up first: The Carolina Panthers I like Carolina's design right now. Simple and clean. I wanted to keep that going and add a little to it. The home jerseys stay black with white numbers and a light blue outline. However I added the Panthers across front in light blue and put some light blue sleeves on it. Also a light blue/white stripe across the middle. The away jersey follows the same design as the home jersey with a some color swaps to fit the jersey. The alt light-blue jersey also works as the color rush jersey. Let me know what you guys think! Next up will be the Arizona Cardinals
  5. This has basically been a one-man quest. Although I never truly seeked out validation, I like to think I got a measure of it last year when Mississippi State decided to dress like the Patriots for their game in Foxborough. So, after a while on the sidelines, I'm back in the saddle, as... Since it's been a while, here's a refresher of the basic rules I impose on myself for these things: Pick X number of players, usually four. The main aim is to see what said players' college unis would look like in their pro styles, and vice versa. Whenever possible, only uniform styles and logos in use when the player was in college/with the NFL team in question will be used. Every now and then, a semi-original logo must be created, or an older logo put into use, to achieve what I'm aiming for. Same goes for number fonts in most cases. Throwbacks are included in this rule. I may occasionally forget a small detail or two. It happens. If a uniform that either predates or postdates a player's time at his school/team is sufficiently awesome enough, at my discretion I might waive rule #3, also known as the Woodson Exception (after Charles Woodson). I figured I'd lead off with Mr. Last Second Pass to Win the National Championship. With apologies to Metta Ron Panda, we welcome the One Tru Warier to C2P. I know one thing. The Browns' style was trickier than it has any right to be...kinda like the Lions' blue is rarer than it should be. And now we close things out with the Bald One
  6. Tweaked the Bills' logo so that it looks like a bison, by actually looking at a bison. Their current look has been a decent facsimile for many years, but in the HD world we need better.
  7. So I saw the rumors that Jacksonville is coming to their senses and getting new uniforms, which undoubtedly means that the world's ugliest helmet will soon be no more. Ugly bucket aside, I personally think that the Jags are a few tweaks away from actually having a decent uniform set. So I decided to layout what I think those tweaks should be: I think that the Jaguars currently look good from the neck down, so there aren't a whole lot of changes to be made but there are some. Let's break them down shall we? Helmet - Do I really need to introduce the incumbent? I changed the disasterpiece that was the helmet to one from the past. I brought back the old black helmet that looks teal in the right light. Kept the jaguar logo on the side, added the JAGS shield logo to the back of the helmet. IMO, it's a decent logo, but doesn't need to take up chest space on the jerseys. Jerseys - The jerseys as they are now really aren't bad to me, in fact I think that they take too much heat from how much the helmet sucks. First off, as I mentioned above, the JAGS patch moves to the helmet. Those weird shoulder designs get taken off and the "claw mark" if you want to call it that, gets moved inside the collar. The teal jersey becomes the home jersey again with the appropriate white numbers. I like the number font, so I kept it. Added the JAGUARS wordmark to the chest and the primary logo to the sleeves so they weren't blank any more. Pants - I didn't change much. I moved the jaguar head from the side of the pants to the front right. It feels cleaner to me. I knocked around the idea of a different pant design, but nothing else really seemed to fit with the design. Socks - Teal and Black. No need for anything on them. And since the NFL is keeping Color Rush around: So as cool as the gold CR uniform was for them (IMO, I didn't hate it completely), I went with teal as the base color since it's more unique of a color to them than black is. So for the first time in team history, teal pants would be worn. Let me know what you guys think.
  8. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/imagine-nfl-soccer-style-relegation-023418506.html Interesting story about what the NFL would look like in a relegation/promotion setup. The only part that definitely doesn't work is having NFL, CFL, AFL, and NCAA teams in a playoff, but maybe the bottom 4 play for the #1 pick?
  9. Years ago, I submitted a series of Australian Rules Football jumpers of each National Football League team. Today, I present an updated series of NFL Aussie Rules jumpers that include an away change set of jumpers for each team. So lets get started! We'll start with the AFC East. Buffalo Bills Miami Dolphins New England Patriots New York Jets
  10. In what is quite possibly the most ambitious undertaking I have found myself engaged with in my 5 years here on the CCSLC, I initially found myself bored and doing nothing in Art History 101 and I was struck with an idea I had seen knocked around here once or twice: the NFL's 100th anniversary, which is 5 years away from the current season (Provided my math hasn't been wrong, the 100th anniversary season is 2020-2021). The redesigns in this thread will follow what happened in my previous NFL series, NFL Redesign 2014, so the mess that Tampa rolled out and the clown suits that Cleveland struts around in never happened. Ok, enough of my rambling. For the NFL's 100th anniversary logo set, there is no gold, no silver, no frills. I wanted to keep it clean so here's what came out: I didn't want to change too much, but wanted things to be different enough that people would notice. Now for the uniforms. Every team will have the normal home and away jerseys No alternate jerseys or helmets will be worn this seasons. Alt pants are ok. Every team will have 2 straight throwbacks, or 2 fauxbacks. Teams will wear the throwbacks/fauxbacks 8 times this season. Along side that, I will be also posting the sketches I've based all these on, which is something I've never done before. Ok, I've talked enough. Here's Dallas. (Going by divisions this time) The Pro Combats Dallas unveiled were a big hit among Cowboys fans, and so Dallas changed after their last uniform change wasn't so well recieved. (The NFL logo is replaced by the 100 logo this year). Brushed silver helmet, star on side, nothing too major. Navy and white jerseys, with stripes and stars on the shoulder, number on sleeves. New number font. Grey pants, pretty much unchanged. New font: Basically took the throwback font and straightened it out. Now the throwbacks Not sure the Cowboys have ever looked better than these uniforms, which come from their first season in 1960. I realise I gave you a lot to swallow in the first post, hopefully they aren't as lengthy. C and C welcome as always.
  11. So, I found the original Minnesota Vikings logo used from 1961-1965. I think this one looks better and cleaner than the current one displayed, and was wondering if we could update it. This is not a custom design by myself, it is the original logo designed by Karl Hubenthal in 1961.
  12. WESTEROS FOOTBALL LEAGUE What's up everyone. For my first post I am proud to present a project I have been working on for quite a bit. If you're a fan of Game of Thrones and the NFL, then this may be for you. The project takes the question, "What if Westeros had its own professional football league?", and brings it to life. For those that are unfamiliar, Westeros is the main continent of the World of Ice and Fire, and the setting of the very popular HBO show, Game of Thrones. Based off the best-selling book series by George RR Martin, Game of Thrones just wrapped up its seventh season. With the NFL season starting, I thought it would be a great time to present this series. Without further ado, here it is. THE TEAMS Each team is based off one of the major houses in Westeros. The teams' uniforms and branding draw from different aspects of each house such as the house sigil, the house words, characters attire, and more. You may also notice some teams draw inspiration from NFL teams as well. I have decided to begin with twelve teams to keep things simple, however, there is definitely the possibility of expanding beyond that in the future. The North Castle Black Crows Bear Island Bears Winterfell Direwolves The East Eyrie Falcons Dragonstone Dragons Storm's End Stags The West Pyke Kraken Clegane's Keep Kennel Lannisport Lions The South Riverrun Trout Highgarden Flowers Sunspear Sandsnakes
  13. Here's a Las Vegas Outlaws Rebrand I just wrapped up. I may do other XFL teams in the far future but enjoy this for now
  14. I always come across cool sports memorabilia and never know where to post it, so I figured this topic deserves its own thread! Post any unique sports memorabilia you find, whether it is online or from your own personal collection! This item is up on eBay and I found it super interesting... a team-issued jersey, custom-made for Angie Harmon, the now-ex-wife of Jason Sehorn: Probably a gift from the team after this awesome TV moment:
  15. I've begun collecting logos that I'd like to update. The first one I did was an old amateur hockey team logo, and I posted it here. This time I thought I'd try to get a bit more elaborate. Here's what I started with: And here's my update: Let me know what you think! PS: here's the rest of the logos I'm currently going to try to work with: pinboard. Let me know if there's one in particular from there you'd like to see or if you have any suggestions. I'm not currently planning on doing requests like Ren, but I'll definitely consider suggestions.
  16. Simply put ... the thread is of scrubs (or lesser caliber players) in jersey numbers a same team where an All-Star or HOF made that same number their own. Here are a few examples from the NBA ... E.C. Coleman, New Orleans Jazz Sidney Green; San Antonio Spurs Steve Kuberski; Boston Celtics Cazzie Russell; Los Angeles Lakers Rowland Garrett; Chicago Bulls.
  17. Last year, I started a series of NHL-based youth sports logos (check them out here!)... I decided to open the door to a few NFL logos before the school year starts... this first logo is still a work in progress, but ready for feedback!
  18. This is my second project on this website. The first being my FBS redesign project. As we have heard, the Titans have been working with Nike and will unveil a new look next spring for the 2018 season. I have created a home, away, alternate, and color rush set for the team. I will post them below.
  19. Hey all! Here's a mockup I did for the UniWatch Challenge for redesigning the Tennessee Titans. The sleeve pattern comes from the Greek origin of a titan. I also wanted to incorporate the baby blue as no other NFL team really uses that color. Lastly, I went with the 1973 Houston Oilers throwback, mostly because of the one helmet rule. Let me know what you think! Jake Manternach
  20. Something fun for all the girls in B-Town! ...and my t-shirt site... any feedback is appreciated!!
  21. In an alternate universe the American Football League was never created, instead it was the Federal Football League. Established in 1960, the FFL was a 16 team league with 2 conferences. There was the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. Eastern conference consisted of BOSTON ADMIRALS / BROOKLYN ISLANDERS / BUFFALO SCOUTS / HARTFORD COYOTES / CINCINNATI GENERALS / INDIANA MAVERICKS / MIAMI SHARKS / ORLANDO STINGRAYS. Western Conference consisted of COLORADO COMETS / HOUSTON WRANGLERS / KANSAS CITY WARRIORS / NASHVILLE RAMBLERS / LAS VEGAS OUTLAWS / LOS ANGELES TIGERS / OAKLAND PIRATES / UTAH YELLOWJACKETS. Federal Football League played 10 seasons (1960 - 1969). In 1970, the Federal Football League merged with the National Football League. This merger created the American Football league in 1970. The AFL consisted of 2 conferences. Federal Conference and National Conference. Federal Football League's 16 teams now made up the Federal Conference and the National Football League's 16 teams now made up the National Conference in the American Football League. In this universe the American Football League is the present day 32 team league (1970 - Present). Now back to the Federal Football League. Founded in 1960 with 16 teams, the Federal Football League was just as popular as the National Football League. Their title game was named the Champions Bowl. Here you can see each teams' logo, wordmark and helmet. Federal Football League Logo
  22. So because I have no life as many of you guys don't either, I decided to make a CCSLC account. I did this so I can present my Madden CFM league thing. I took all of the AFC teams and relocated them to almost all of the cities on CFM that you can relocate to. There are 18 options, but since there's only 16 teams I didn't use Salt Lake City or Houston, because the team name/logo options sucked (with the exception of the Oilers.) I left the NFC teams alone and pretend they don't exist. What I do is simulate the games so I can watch and not control them. I will post weekly highlights and scores of the league when I can. Here are the rules and set up of the league: - A simulated fantasy draft was held at the beginning of the first season. - 7 min quarters, but game mode is set to "fast" so the scores are realistic to a real NFL game - 12 games per season, excluding preseason (each team plays an NFC team 4 times, but it counts as a forced win for the AFC team) -AFC championship counts as the final "championship" (super bowl is simulated and ignored) Here is an overview of the teams, but I'll post in depth each team later (uniforms, roster, etc): East: -London Black Knights -London Bulldogs -Brooklyn Bulls -Dublin Celtic Tigers North: -Columbus Aviators -Toronto Thunderbirds -Chicago Tigers -Portland Snowhawks South: -Oklahoma City Bisons -Mexico City Diablos -Orlando Sentinels -Memphis Steamers West: -Austin Desperados -San Antonio Dreadnoughts -Sacramento Miners -Los Angeles Red Dragons
  23. I'm not sure how exactly it started, but months back I was wondering how certain logos might look if that city had all their teams with similar colours, so I decided to do a mashup of all the teams in the major 4 pro sports leagues. Meaning how might the Boston Celtics look with Bruins colours and vice-versa. For the most part the early criteria is that they need to have the same city name(EX-Toronto Blue Jays/Raptors/Leafs). So even if some might be in same city(like Oakland A's and Golden State Warriors) I didn't do those ones just to save some time. If people want me to do more, then let me know and I'll do more. Ones like NY,LA,Chicago who have many teams, I might do later. Some I skipped because their primary logo is just too plain for this to really work(such as Indians and Pirates logo where the logo is basically just a letter). A fair amount I also didn't do if I felt the colour swap wasn't so noticeable and was nothing more than a slight difference in colour tone(EX-Washington teams red/blue). Some swaps I find look nice(like ones attached here) while others not so much(O's under Ravens colours, Bengals under Reds colours ect.), but I still did them just to see how they all look. If there are other requests you would like for me to do or see some that are missing, feel free to post it here and I'll do my best to complete it. My next project might just be colour swapping current/past logos of a teams history for those who have had notable changes, such as Brewers,Stars among others.
  24. These are some concepts I've in my head for a while. First off, the Atlanta Falcons. I combined some old and new aspects in this one including a logo recolor. A little bit of old Dirty Bird grey and some Tech gold. For the uniforms, grey and black pants for all combos.
  25. For almost as long as football has existed, there have been many tries at tabletop simulations of the sport. I'm not talking about Strat-o-Matic, Paydirt and their ilk. No, what I speak of is having the whole field, and 11 little men butting heads with 11 other men. The most famous of these attempts is electric football, which seems to be something of a love/hate affair mainly because getting those little men to go where you want them to, as well as passing and kicking, are dark, arcane arts mortals were not meant to know ...and then there have been other, more obscure efforts, a number of which basically combined football with chess, though that has its own issues (queen pieces might end up being too powerful to contain, for instance). What I saw someone at Boardgame Geek do with All-Pro Football, a late 60s effort, inspired me to try my hand at at least preparing to make my own board, and at some point I'll post some of them. These fields I'm about to show you, I created with a different game, Techno Bowl, in mind. All I'll say is what I know: I think the idea has finally found its winner, and all it took was inspiration from a certain iconic NES game. Anyway, I give you a field for Rice... And in my world, the Noles bring back the white endzones...I was on the fence considering whether to have the feather on the spear or not. Finally for now, los Jefes...I have some faint memories of Arrowhead's old turf field, and also used the spear stripes from one of my older concepts in the endzones. I'll note: the original versions of my fields/boards feature grid lines, which I intend to either leave off or severely lighten for the concept versions I'll be posting here. The All-Pro fields I'll be posting, however, will be in the checkered form I intend to print them in (and I've made CFL and Arena versions as well, which I'll post later).
