  1. Since my last page was shut down by a moderator due to a lack of activity for some reason, I decided to post jersey concepts here that I had planned for the logo changes in my other forum. Note also there are no alternates for the first year: First... PACIFIC DIVISION Anaheim Ducks: Their current alternate is promoted to their Home jersey, while a similar reversed color away jersey is added to replace the old one. The "D" logo remains an alternate logo on the shoulders. LA Kings: Same jersey colors and striping, but the new logo I created in my other forum is added to the front of the home and road jerseys. Other than that, no changes. San Jose Sharks: New logo added onto the front of both the home and road jersey. The old logo on the shoulders are removed. The neck color on the home jersey is changed to white to contrast the blue jersey. Edmonton Oilers: Orange alternate jersey already announced as their new home jersey for 2017-18. No changes otherwise. Calgary Flames: There recent throwback jersey returns as their primary jersey to coordinate the new logo I proposed. An away jersey reverses the colors of the home jersey and uses the primary on the font without a black outline. Vegas Golden Knights: I expect a relatively bland uniform (considering the ownership), at least for the first few years. Black home with gray sleeves and gold stripe. The same goes for the road with an added black stripe separating the gold stripe from the white. The neck laces will be the team's red accent color. The primary logo will be on the front of the jersey. I chose a more classical font, they may choose a modern font, but I think that may look too similar to the old Ducks uniforms style wise. Vancouver Canucks: Same home and road uniforms but the new logo is added to the away, and an inverted version is added to the home jersey. The logo is removed from the shoulders on both uniforms. Arizona Coyotes: No changes at all. Uniforms were also updated last year, so change is unlikely if not impossible. What do you think? Coming next: Metropolitan Division!
  2. Here is my new concept idea for the Nordiques... Maybe its more of a AHL looking logo rather then a NHL logo but I think its a fun idea that would represent the Nords return to any league. The igloo is the primary and the polar bear is the shoulder patch logo. Comments and critiques are welcomed!
  3. Like most, due to Adidas' ownership of Reebok, I do not believe many drastic logo changes will come to the NHL logo-wise. I believe most teams will see either recolors or promotion of alternates to primaries, with only one or two teams receiving full on new logos. However, here are my ideas/suggestions regarding logo changes for both the Pacific Division and the Metropolitan division. PACIFIC DIVISION: LA Kings: I see the Kings keeping their current color scheme but this is a mixed concept that I made. It involves a mix of their rarely seen stadium series logo and the old crown from the franchise's inception, rather than the dated and complex current crown. This could work as either an alternate or (preferably) a primary. San Jose Sharks: I see the shark's new alternate logo for 2016-17 ready to take over the current sharks logo. This and the Panthers logo were the only all-new non-anniversary logos introduced this year, so I see it promoted to the primary. It is an improvement over the previous logo. Anaheim Ducks: This is the logo change I and most really want to see: the duck mask must return. Strip it straight from the already used alternate and promote it to a primary and demote the "D" logo down to an alternate. Edmonton Oilers: This logo is either staying the same or, in my opinion, getting a minor recolor to give it more of the classic look. Vegas Golden Knights: This logo was unveiled earlier this year. I'm not much of a fan, but it is what it is. Calgary Flames: Black will be removed from the team's color scheme entirely, reverting its colors back to the much preferred older color scheme. Vancouver Canucks: I think either the orca logo stays or, preferably, the classic canucks hockey stick "C" makes its way as a primary. Arizona Coyotes: No changes. METROPOLITAN DIVISION: New Jersey Devils: Although a new logo is rumored for the Devils, I don't see their classic NJ icon leaving anytime soon. If anything, I see their colors being reverted back to red and green to differentiate itself from the many bland red and black teams out there. If they do choose to go with a redesign, I hope it at least keeps the spirit of this logo. New York Rangers: No changes. Possibly the return of lady liberty? New York Islanders: No changes. However, the life that this logo has left with the Islanders scheduled to be arena-less in 2019 may be short... Pittsburgh Penguins: No changes. This recolor was perfect for the franchise and nothing needs to be added. Carolina Hurricanes: No changes, unfortunately. While the logo is bleh right now, the team has been dead last in attendance and I see relocation in sight. The team will not waste resources on a new logo if the team has no time left in North Carolina. Philadelphia Flyers: No changes. Very solid and classic logo with no need for change. Columbus Blue Jackets: I see their much acclaimed alternate logo taking the place of their much derided primary. This is a fantastic logo that better represents a primary logo than their primary logo. Washington Capitals: I see their word mark logo falling into secondary territory, while their eagle logo gets a few minor tweaks to color and design and gets promoted to the primary. The logo is amazing and its wanted. Do you agree? Will add the Atlantic and Central Conference soon...
  4. One (of my many) uniform pet-peeves is match-ups involving mixed throwback uniforms -- or even worse -- a throwback vs. current era match-up. I love that baseball is more apt to get both teams in era-appropriate throwbacks -- and to some extent the NFL in 1994 (NFL 75th) and 2009 (AFL 50th) seasons. But, the NFL and NBA have had some horrible mix-matched match-ups. I thought it would fun to find some of the worst ...
  5. Hey guys, So I'm still pretty new to posting my work and stuff but I've decided to take a whack at a large project, so I picked a redesign of the NHL. I'll be posting each teams new jerseys and logos as I finish them. Some teams will be partially or completely untouched depending on how much I like their current sets. I'm using MS paint so obviously I don't have a lot of breathing room, but I'll try my best. I also haven't been able to find any good name and number templates that are compatible with MS Paint so that's why they look like crap on all my jerseys. But anyway, C&C is greatly appreciated and I can't wait to see what you guys think.
  6. I missed out when everyone else was making their uniform predictions for the Golden Knights and we're running out of time before concepts become tweaks so here's my go at it.
  7. Earlier this summer, around the end of the school year, I had this idea for a series. I asked my other designer friend, Rana, if she wanted to do it with me, and now, at the end of the summer, I think we’re finally ready to show off what we have done. We aren’t completely finished yet, as it takes a while to completely rebrand 30 teams, even for just the logos. The jerseys will come later. If you’ve seen @ldconcepts's thread which was based off of this series, you’ll have an idea of what’s going on. Ours is a little different though. Our goal was to take one team’s logo or namesake, and design their logo with the same style or theme as another team’s. After that, we’ll do the reverse. Unlike Lucas, we paired each team together with one other team, and just swapped those two. The pairings were chose mainly on what we could come up with ideas for, not rivalries or anything (that does happen a few times, though), In order to leave a bit of surprise. I won’t tell you guys the pairings yet. But I will give you a list of 15 teams, all of them being paired with a team that isn’t on the list. When I unveil a team, I’ll put the pairing here too. Anaheim - Dallas Arizona Boston Buffalo - Chicago Calgary - Edmonton Carolina - Columbus Colorado - Winnipeg Detroit Florida - Nashville Los Angeles - Toronto Minnesota Montreal New Jersey Pittsburgh - Washington St. Louis - Tampa Bay Below in this spoiler tag will be an image with a compilation of any logos unveiled. Check the posts in the thread for a more in depth description/larger image of them.
  8. This is my first concept, so I wanted to keep it relatively simple. This was all done on Microsoft Paint so bear with me. Literally all I did was remove the disgusting silver from the Logo and Uniforms. Let me know what you think C&C appreciated
  9. No but I would bet a lot of money that they will look exactly like this (not my concept BTW mods just a good prediction by Avi):
  10. The title of the thread says it all... I will be posting my predictions for what I think the NHL/Adidas will be unveiling for their league-wide overhaul next season, as well as changes I would make/what I want to see. We know a few details for what to expect - such as the Oilers wearing their orange alts full time, the Devils rebranding, etc - but according to @Chris Creamer, some teams won't have major changes. So first up... 1) Washington Capitals Prediction: rumor has it that the Caps are thinking about switching to their retro-throwbacks full time. Wish List: a combination of throwback and modernization 2) Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction: they switch to their current third jersey's template to stray away from the Maple Leafs/Red Wings comparison Wish List: bring back the unique Hawaiian blue and throw in some more black Florida and Columbus are next....C&C appreciated.
  11. Now that Las Vegas has an NHL team, it is hard to see the NHL adding an expansion team to the Western Conference. Therefore, it seems pretty unlikely that Seattle will get an NHL team in the future. However, that doesn't stop me from taking a shot at it. Seattle has a really old hockey history and identity which would be fun to build on. I made this concept to see what a team in Seattle would look like. First, for the team name. I chose to name the team the Seattle Suncatchers. The name is in reference to the Pacific Northwestern Native American myth of the Raven stealing the sun. I took the colors from the Seattle Metropolitans, the first American team to win the Stanley Cup. I took a lot of influence from the Art Deco architechture and art associated with Seattle. I wanted to make a team that mixed a lot of the complex Native American art with a more stripped down, Art Deco style. Next, for logos. I wanted all of the logos to mix the two elements to create a strong identity that was different than a lot of the other NHL teams. An image seen in a lot of Pacific Northwestern Native American art is the image of the Raven with the sun in its beak. This was originally my idea for the main logo of the team. This is what I came up with. I liked the stylizing of the logo, but parts of the logo bothered me. I thought it looked too much like a dinosaur for some reason, and at the same time it looked too similar to the Seahawks' logo. In addition, It didn't look very good on the uniforms, so I decided to scrap it. However, I still wanted to keep the mix of simplicity and the Native American elements. These are the marks I settled on for the Suncatchers. The primary logo is centerd around the red roundel, which represents the sun from the Native American myth. Surrounding it in art deco script is "Suncatchers Seattle". Inside the sun are three Northwestern Native American styled feathers, joined together by a smaller roundel. The secondary mark is drawn from the Seattle Metropolitans' "S" logo. The S and the smaller letters spelling out Seattle are in the updated script and are aligned to fit inside of the S better. Both of the logos mix history, Art deco, and Native American elements. For the jerseys, I wanted to do something classic. Looking at what Adidas has done for the World Cup of Hockey uniforms, they seem to like to walk the line between modern and minimalist. I tried to walk the same line while still being old school. Here are the jerseys. The home jerseys are a dark green with predominantly cream highlights. Red accents highlight the cream portions of the uniform, on the yoke, sleeves, pants, and socks. The away jerseys follow a different design, with a cream base and green upper sleeves. The same red accents are found on the sleeves. For both of the uniforms, Art Deco numbers are used, with the nameplates and captain patches in an old school collegiate font. The Seattle S logo serves as both jersey's patches and are found on both pants. The same helmet is used with both uniforms. Any C&C is much appreciated! Tell me what you think of the concept down below.
  12. I think that Senators is vague enough that it can basically apply as "Ottawa HC." I think the best look for them would be to go red instead of black on the barberpole, ditch vintage white, and put the profile senator on the front. Like this:
  13. Hey all, This is my first time posting here and my first real stab at creating a concept series for jersey designs. I have some experience in the past in creating jerseys for online hockey league forums, but never have done as many concepts for a league like the NHL. C&C is welcome and appreciated by a newcomer in the field of jersey designing. Direct link to Team look: Anaheim Ducks Arizona Coyotes Boston Bruins Buffalo Sabres Calgary Flames Carolina Hurricanes Chicago Blackhawks Colorado Avalanche Columbus Blue Jackets Dallas Stars Detroit Red Wings Edmonton Oilers Edmonton Oilers 2 Florida Panthers Los Angeles Kings Minnesota Wild Montreal Canadiens Nashville Predators New Jersey Devils New York Islanders New York Rangers Ottawa Senators Philadelphia Flyers Pittsburgh Penguins San Jose Sharks St Louis Blues Tampa Bay Lightning Toronto Maple Leafs Vancouver Canucks Vegas Golden Knights Washington Capitals Winnipeg Jets Centennial Classic First up we have the Anaheim Ducks. The Mighty Ducks logo is back and in the spotlight. One thing that I like about the real current Ducks set is the inclusion of orange, and wanted to bring that as the main color. Gold is eliminated in the color pallet.
  14. We have players in the wrong uniform -- and teams in the wrong stadium. So, why not a teams in the wrong uniform thread? I'll start off with a few obvious ones ... (pretty much any Turn Ahead The Clock Jersey to be honest) What would you add to this list?
  15. Attempt at neatening up the Wild that I sent into HJC and was looking for some C&C on. Tried making their set more cohesive among other adjustments.
  16. I haven't made a concept in awhile so here we go. This is what I hope Adidas does with the Hurricanes for the 2017-2018. I wanted to keep it simple but also add elements from some of their previous jerseys. Added "Carolina" on the inner collar for the away and "Hurricanes" for the home. I debated going the route of the NBA and adding something to represent Stanley Cup victories. Yes, the lime green line is intentional, not an error. I added the 100 Anniversary logo at the last minute but originally I had intended to not include it, instead having every team use a chrome material behind the NHL shield on the collar. If I get enough C&C I may make this a league wide project.
  17. If the NHL would ever make a new expansion, I would imagine the top contenders for future NHL teams would be Atlanta, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Hamilton, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Mexico, Oakland, Portland, Puerto Rico, Quebec, Saskatoon and Seattle. Anybody would make a concept of these potential expansion teams?. Thanks!.
  18. A concept I made. The rank on the shoulder of the jersey is the US Army rank of captain and this would be the jersey the Captain of the Knights wears
  19. Doing a rebrand of the whole NHL with teams coming at random. Starting with the Columbus Blue Jackets
  20. Hey all! So this is the design of the Toronto Maple Leafs alternate jersey that I did for the latest hockeyjerseyconcepts.com contest. I explained my reasoning behind the choices on the logo, but if anyone has any questions I am happy to answer them. For reference these are the University of Toronto logo and Toronto Arenas logo that I mentioned in the image, and the 1934-37 jersey that was mentioned. I am pretty happy with how this turned out, but as always comments, questions, and critiques are always welcome! Thanks in advanced.
  21. Six months after the unveiling of the new Maple Leafs uniform, I'm used to the mega-thick stripe on the hem, but I actually don't like the classic double stripes on the arms. A great logo like this needs a bold design to compliment it, so I decided to make my fix. The Arenas' 4-stripe barberpole adjusted to fit the thick hem stripe replaces the double stripe, while on the home the stripe is lowered to throwback to the Arenas and form a T with the new pants. The stripe is kept where it is on the away, so the negative white space on the hem connects with the pants. The pants themselves are simple. so to go with the stripe I just put the simple Arenas' T. To show the full uniform and the T on the pants, I used one of JCRGraphix's great templates. C&C Appreciated!
  22. Hey folks! Ever since the NHL announced that Adidas will take over the uniform system in 2017, I've been curious and excited to see what the new jerseys will look like. I originally started a series with some concepts for this upcoming season, but now that we have more information as far as what we might see next season. So far, we know that the NHL won't allow third jerseys to be used next season, meaning that some teams could promote their alternates to primary status. It's been confirmed that the Oilers will going orange for the next season, and both the Wild and Capitals are in the process of deciding whether to make the upgrade. It's also very possible that we will see the dreaded Adidas trademark: the three stripes. Based on the negative reaction from many fans, and the outcry we'll get from teams like the Canadiens and Red Wings, I doubt the stripes will be under the armpit, rather somewhere else (the back of the jersey collar, maybe?) First concept coming soon!
  23. Could NHL sweaters look like this after the Adidas take over? leave your ideas here too!
  24. With the Blue Jackets' current (and ridiculous) 15-game winning streak gaining steam in the national media, many in Columbus think it's finally time that the league rewards the city with an outdoor game at the iconic Horseshoe. The "Unsustaina-bowl" created a ton of buzz around the hockey world this past weekend, and both ratings and ticket prices were off the charts. What better way than play in the annual Winter Classic against the CBJ's expansion brothers? Before I post the two teams' logos and uniforms, I am going to leave you with a couple of teasers C&C appreciated! More to come soon...
  25. I'm self taught in photoshop I've been going at it for two and a half years or so. I make posters for Leafs games and post them on my Facebook just as something to do for my friends and family to see. Over the last 3-4 days I've felt unmotivated. Ive started things and then delete them cause I couldn't make what saw in my head or I just didn't like what I made. I'm looking for some inspiration/help for what to do. I've done jersey concepts But I prefer doing stuff like these Leafs posters cause they have more texture and depth to them and a jersey concept. Any help, tips or inspiration would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!
