  1. Aaron Dodson from The Undefeated listed The 30 Best NBA Throwback Jerseys is response to Nike's announcement that eight teams will be wearing a Classic Edition uniform (READ: Throwback) this upcoming year. There's a lot to be said about Dodson's list, which needless to say, I don't agree with. So I thought I'd share ONE throwback for each 30 teams that I'd love to see worn. This isn't necessarily the best designed throwback from their team history, but more back to an era relatable to the fans and their history. Also, in the spirit of the NBA going with more Color vs. Color match ups, I decided to go with colored jerseys, especially since the Association Edition (READ: Home Uniform) will presumably be the only white jersey in team's collections. Anyways, here is my list. I'd love to see everyone else's opinions on what throwbacks you'd like your favorite team to sport next year or near future ...
  2. Well its confirmed the numbers aren't huge. Actually looks really nice.
  3. The NBA has decided to expand and reorganize the conferences and divisions while adding 6 new teams. The base conferences and divisions will stay the same. Each division will move to six teams. All new teams will be in the Western Conference. Eastern Conference Atlantic Boston Celtics Brooklyn Nets Toronto Raptors New York Knicks Philadelphia Sixers Washington Wizards* *Added the Wizards from the Southeast Central Cleveland Cavs Chicago Bulls Milwaukee Bucks Detroit Pistons Indiana Pacers Minnesota TimberWolves* *Added timberwolves from the Northwest Southeast Atlanta Hawks Charlotte Hornets Miami Heat Orlando Magic New Orleans Pelicans* Memphis Grizzlies* *Added Pelicans and Grizzlies from the Southwest Western Conference Northwest Portland Trailblazers Utah Jazz Denver Nuggets Sacramento Kings Seattle Supersonics* Vancouver Orcas** *Supersonics return as an expansion team **Orcas bring NBa back to Vancouver Pacific Golden State Warriors Los Angeles Clippers Los Angeles Lakers Phoenix Suns Vegas Flamingos* San Diego Sails** *Vegas is getting NHL and NFL so NBA decides to come too **Sails never completed a full season in the ABA but get a second chance Southwest San Antonio Spurs Houston Rockets Dallas Mavericks Oklahoma City Thunder* Kansas City Fountains** Mexico City Golden Eagles*** *Thunder move over from the Northwest **Fountains add NBA to an area that loves basketball ***Golden Eagles spread the NBA global brand into another country. I have completed most of the expansion teams concepts and will posting them shortly.
  4. So with the recent NBA releases,I had some ideas... and decided to translate them into concepts. Some stuff will remain intact: Nike Swoosh to stay,4 uniform format as well, although I'll increase the throwbacks to 10. Ads,however, are not welcome in this project; I don't like them (the way they are, they're merely a superflous gimmick, tbh) Teams that comprised the playoffs will go first, then everyone else based on standings. I'll alternate between the Western and Eastern conferences,Western first since the champions are from there. So,let's start with the 2016/17 champs: the Golden State Warriors The "Association" and "Icon" uniform are based off their look from the first half of the 1990s. These two feature a sublimated "bridge" graphic on the bottom left, taken from the primary logo. The slate grey "athlete's mindset" uniform has the same design, albeit printed in yellow/blue,while the yellow "community" uniform is a simplification of their current look + bit of a fauxback. Up next: I'll try to fix the broken new Cavaliers unis...
  5. Didn't see a thread for this: http://www.nba.com/jazz/nike1718?_ga=2.241182981.688412386.1502590075-2085097014.1496195062 http://www.nba.com/jazz/news/jazz-reveal-first-two-uniforms-2017-18-season
  6. What's Up! So I am fairly new to creating basketball concepts, but I've made some for several teams. Hit me up with some feedback and let me know what teams to do next!
  7. Everybody knows the news that Under Armor will be taking over the MLB jerseys in 2019, but I had the idea to think of a world in which Nike was running the MLB. This is that world; vibrant, creative, and very unique. Some of these designs will be off the wall, while others will put a modern, yet classic twist on timeless jerseys. This is my first major project, and I fully intend to complete this to the very end, so constant C&C will be very helpful and appreciated. I have no particular order for which I will be unveiling these teams, basically whatever comes to mind for me, or if you'd like, you can request a team and I'll see about getting to it! First up we have the Miami Marlins. What I've done here is tried to create a blend of the old logo set and the new one. I boiled it down to just three colors, black, orange, and light blue. Occasionally I will use gray as an outline or accent color, but those are the main three. So without further ado, here is the first set of logos for MLB by Nike. Thanks for looking and C&C is greatly appreciated.
  8. Hello! This is my first ever uniform/logo concepts I have ever done. I am a graphic designer on Instagram, and I am taking a jab at concepts for the first time. Constructive criticism and Feedback is very welcomed!
  9. Just wanted some feedback on the direction of this concept. It's still incomplete... Don't mind the watermark it wont be there when I post the final versions. Once I feel like I've got this design down I plan to make 4 sets (2 icon, 1 association, 1 classic). C&C is appreciated on just about every part of this uniform, but rather than just taking suggestions I'd like to have discussions and try to find the best solutions. Also, I'm using my logo as a placeholder sponsor. I'd like to hear what you guys think the Rockets might actually go with.
  10. This is my first project of this sorts as I've only had PS for about 6 months. however, I've also been into the logos, designs, etc of basketball teams, so i decided to create redesign the entire NBA. This series will include some teams getting full updates, some getting minor tweaks, and some getting an entirely new identities. There will also be a few expansion teams. C&C IS definitely appreciated as this is my first project and i would like to know what i can work on! On to the first Concept. DETROIT PISTONS I wanted to keep this clean and sharp, but still give them something to make them unique. the two tone was in part inspired by the raptors early 2000's purple/black jerseys (Not the recent USA olympic jerseys, although i now realize there are several similarities.) i was never a big fan of their most recent word mark, as its too bubbly, so i went in the direction of a sharper font. ATLANTA HAWKS I haven't particularly liked any hawks jerseys since the classic Dominique era jerseys, so i considering using those to influence my new ones. however, i felt the hawks needed something more refreshing, so i went away with the red and yellow (volt?) in favor of the older blue and green jerseys. And finally my first expansion team BALTIMORE ROYALTY A perhaps underused color scheme in my eyes. We'll start off with the logo. (Don't worry this is the only jersey in the series that features a gradient jersey, but i felt the green/light green could work on these while still looking simple and clean) thank you for viewing. More too come soon!
  11. Hello everyone. I am very excited for the NBA to make the move over to Nike this upcoming season. And according to Nike, 8 teams will have throwback uniforms this year. I wanted to take a shot at some throwbacks, but I also wanted to modernize them. I will be posting uniforms for all 30 NBA teams, and maybe the Supersonics/All-Star teams. For uniform references, I used this thread by @eibram . First up,the Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta Hawks For the Hawks, I used a combination of their current color scheme/uniforms, and their Dominique Wilkins-era uniforms. Please leave CC. Next up: Boston Celtics.
  12. Hey guys, I've seen a few people posting concepts for the new Nike NBA uniforms so I thought I would throw my hat in the ring. I tried to keep these simplistic and minimal while using the new logos and fonts. First up is the "Association Edition": I wanted to keep these as basic as possible. I added the new fonts as well as the good year logo. Something I did not like about the old uniforms is the lack of a number outline, so I addressed that. Also, I opted for a pointed collar, not a rounded one. Next is the "Icon Edition:" Again, I added a white outline to the numbers and font that I personally thought the uniforms were missing. Next is the "Athlete's Mindset" Everyone knows that athletes love to wear black. I'm not personally a fan but think that it can work sometimes. Here I tried to keep it as close to the other two uniforms as possible. Last but not least, "The Community" How can you not like these classics? These are some of my all time favorite uniforms in sport. The orange and white is a fantastic combo. I'm going to attempt other teams as well. I have no time table for when I will complete it if I even do. All C&C and requests welcome.
  13. I had this idea for the Wolves a while ago when other NBA teams were rolling out their "Pride" uniforms. Minnesota was primarily known for French voyaguers, Scandinavian vikings, Native Americans. I figured the MNUFC Loons and NSC Stars (when they were around) used the French "L'√Čtoile du Nord" theme and the Vikings using the viking theme that I should go with the Native aspect. The Ojibwe and Dakota are Minnesota's main tribes. I forget why, but I went with the Ojibwe word for 'Wolves' being 'Ma'iigan'. So using Daniel Ramone's template, I threw this together with the new Midnight Blue and Aurora Green of the wolves. I didn't think the current number font of the Wolves worked well with this, so I found a Jimmy Butler shirsey online and used that. The trees are from the promo when the Wolves first announced they would be unveiling a new logo. C&C appreciated!
  14. I love watching college football and I like to see how teams change their uniforms over the years. Most of those changes have been for the better but there's still some that changed for the worse or have just always been bad. In this thread I'm not going to do redesign every team's uniform. I'm only going to redesign FBS teams that I thought have bad uniforms or could use some slight changes (which is around 30 teams). I'll try to give some type of explanation for teams I didn't change at some point too. I'm not going to post these in a specific order. And just because I post only a home, away, and alternate uniform that doesn't meant helmet, jerseys, and pants can't be mixed around. Teams I have done: Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Fresno State, Georgia Tech, Hawaii, Houston, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Nevada, Northern Illinois, Oregon State, TCU, Tulsa, Wisconsin, Western Michigan Teams I plan on doing: UCLA, Arkansas State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana-Lafayette, Bowling Green, Southern Miss, North Carolina State, East Carolina, Texas-San Antonio, Texas-El Paso, UAB, North Texas, Charlotte, Akron, Kent State On to the concepts... Central Michigan Chippewas (current uniform) Home Uniform: Away Uniform: Alternate Uniform: -Normal glossy helmets -Unique pattern on shoulders and pants. The pattern might be a little too much, but I'd rather see a team try something different than use a similar template than other Adidas schools. -Added "Chippewas"/"Central Michigan" to front of jersey Up Next: EMU
  15. I made this for my random football series. It's in SVG. Socks are from ADW77's old Elite 51 template. If there's anything I missed, let me know. http://www.mediafire.com/file/9hxlclmclhbnq84/Vapor+Untouchable+NFL.svg
  16. So while I'm currently working on my NIKE NBA series, I thought I'd take a little break and work on some NCAA concepts. These are just some alternates for some random NCAA teams I found interesting. Enjoy and please let me know how you like them! First round of three here with many more to come!
  17. So I haven't posted on here in a while but got bored and decided to play around with some NBA concepts. Have 15 done so far so I'm going to progressively post those while working to finish off the league. No real structure here, some home uniforms, some away, even some alternates, just whatever I think looks good. As always C&C are welcomed greatly, please let me know what you think! First up, one of my simpler designs with the 76ers! Tried to go for a very classic looking jersey, while emphasizing the great red white and blue color scheme present. Next up is the Warriors. Didn't change too much of the jersey base, just adding smaller improvements that I thought looked sharp. Also scrapped the pants and went with a more "warrior" looking design. And to round out my first set, is the Nets! Once again going for a very classic look on the jersey, with a very simple design on the pants.
  18. I recently got a burst of inspiration when watching some soccer, to redesign the uniforms in the MLS. My main goal is to give each team a unique identity that could stand the test of time, as the MLS progresses into a bright future. Seeing as one day Nike may become interested in becoming the league's uniform provider, I used a Nike template modified for my use on paint.net. I plan on releasing a primary and clash kit for each team. Without further ado, the first team, Atlanta United. On the primary kit there is not a huge change, other than becoming predominately black, and adjusting to the Nike template. The Unite and Conquer slogan is featured on the back neck. I made Black is an emphasis for Atlanta United, due to an abundance of red in the MLS. That became a motivator for the clash kit. I envisioned this kit as almost an homage to the predominately black Falcons identity of the 90's and 2000's. Black and white has not been used by an MLS team in recent years and a new team like Atlanta could be just the team to do it. I will move on alphabetically with the next team being the Chicago Fire. Feedback and critique is appreciated.
  19. There are a couple of ncaa color rush concepts on the boards. I was going to do this a lot earlier, so don't think I'm trying to steal anyone's concepts. These will be hand drawn. Constructive criticism is appreciated, I will be free to take request. Also, I will only be doing colleges sponsored by Nike. Hope you like them Ohio State
  20. Hey y'all: Decided I'd take a shot at rebranding the New York Knicks, a team with a current brand identity plagued by horribleness and bad management. General Comments: Silver will be removed from the color scheme in its entirety, leaving a new vintage blue, a slightly darkened orange, and white as the three colors. LOGOS: Primary: This roundball concept is similar to that of the 70th anniversary logo the team used last season, featuring the new orange from that logo as well. The logo features the Knicks' current ball alternate logo center stage, with New York Knicks Basketball branding and the teams establishment date, 1946. Secondary: This works off of the Knicks' primary logo history, specifically in the past 25 years. However, it incorporates the ball from the older logos while donning an updated "Knicks" text above the ball where all of the letters are the same size in proportion. It holds far more true to the logo of the championship era than the current one, which still holds a bad taste of the Isiah Era. Partial: Simply enough, this is a reversed color version of the ball logo, used primarily on white. UNIFORMS: The new nike branding is added near the right shoulder and Chase will be on the left side as the jersey ad. The sleeves no longer are broken in the middle and are now connected. Both the home and road jerseys cut the silver from the sleeves/neck as well, leaving blue and orange on the home and white and orange on the road. Both uniforms also adopt the new shades of blue and orange, but the fonts remain in tact, although also with silver removed. The home jersey features the partial logo on the shorts, while the road features the secondary on the shorts; both replacing the old primary. While this uniform refresh is not drastic (due to the novelty of the existing uniforms), it makes some much needed changes and is similar to that of the Timberwolves uniform refresh in the late 00s. What do you think?
  21. In this series I will be re-branding all 32 NFL Team's uniforms with either Nike (Mach Speed, Pro Combat, Vapor Untouchable), Adidas (Techfit 2016), or Under Armour (Diablo). Nike/Jordan Carolina Panthers New York Jets Adidas Tampa Bay Buccaneers Minnesota Vikings New Orleans Saints Under Armour Las Vegas Raiders Atlanta Falcons Leave comments and requests of what team with what brand/template you want.

    USMNT Concept

So the USMNT kits are awful, I decided to mock some up. In case you cant see them, the side panels are red on both shirts and shorts
  23. So I started to make an AeroSwift template when it was unveiled, and I didn't have enough resources to complete it at the time, so I moved on, worked on other things and now, in the the biggest basketball month of the year, I finally have a template. It will be an .ai file and I'm still debating on a release right away. But in the meantime, and to make sure that I worked out all the bugs, I decided to roll in a Sweet 16 concept thread with it. First things first, here's the template. And starting off the concepts is the Wisconsin/Florida matchup: Wisconsin's newish look doesn't change a whole lot with the move to the template. Biggest difference is the leg stripes wrap around the legs this time. So I do not like Florida's current uniforms, the panel design just isn't doing it for me, so I mixed the HyperElite Disruption uniforms with the sublimated gator pattern, and the stripe pattern from the 2013 uniforms and you get the above result. I know I'm a day late dollar short for the whole set of games, but I still plan on getting through them all to the finals. C&C welcome!!
  24. So guys, it's finally done. All the years I've been using this 'comic template' I've always got requests to give it out. I never did because lazy. Over the last few days I created the new Nike Aeroswift template with my template and decided that it would be the perfect instance to share it with you. Maybe one problem is that I just use Gimp and subsequent I can just share it in the xcf-format. So you can definitely open it with Gimp. If someone knows how I can save it in .psd or just convert it would be nice. Here is the front: http://www.file-upload.net/download-11410484/Front.xcf.html And the backside: http://www.file-upload.net/download-11410485/Back.xcf.html
