  1. Even since Washington wanted to do a rebrand, one name that keeps popping up as a fan favorite is the Red Wolves/RedWolves/Redwolves. I still think it can be a good name, but it also has one thing that all the other possibles names don't have: a back-up plan. See the name Redwolves has two things going against it: 1.Arkansas State owns the Red Wolves name. Which means Washington needs to reach a shared agreement with them in order to use it without litigation. 2. Even though the animal the name comes from, the red wolf, exists, too many people think that the Red part is forced trying to cram a part of the Washington history not needed. So in case we can't overcome either one of those, we can just make it the Washington Wolves. With WSH "starting over" and looking for a "new cultural identity", the name fits with their mission. I have been working on the logo for over a month now trying to get it right. And with the help of people on twitter as well as designers like UniMockups and Brandon Moore, I was able to achieve this snarling wolf! This logo has gone through a lot of versions! The main colors would be Burgundy and Gold, but the secondary colors really make the difference. The darker color is what I call Wolf Brown. A loose connection to the (Washington Football Team) past since that and the old gold are from the old days of Washington. But the biggest addition is the color blood orange (I call it the Nike color) which can be used the same way Seattle uses their bright green color. When you add claw marks to the logo as well as make a blackout (night) version, it really gives it a punch! And I also made a few secondary and alternate logo variations. The alternate logo is a simple one. The DC flag inside the pentagon, representing the military building. But the W is my biggest success. I was able to fit the Washington Monument in the W without using the whole monument like every other Ws have been. As for the helmet, I think the burgundy W on a white helmet with claw mark stripes is a great way to fit as a simple helmet design like the old teams of GB, CHI, and NY. And with the uniforms I wanted to add claw marks on the side, diagonally so it doesn't look like stretch marks (LOL) Here they are in Home, Away, Color Burst, and Blackout (Night) Like a good designer, this might not be the final form. But I am glad at what I achieved! Go Wolves of Washington!
  2. Welcome, everybody, to this brand new series! I can't wait to get going on this thing, and I just think it's super cool y'all are checking this out. Since I first posted my very first few concepts on here on a few months ago, I feel I've learned a lot, and hopefully you all see that improvement as this series unfolds. I'll try my very best to keep updates daily. Below is the order in which I will be posting all 30 MLB teams: AL West - - Seattle Mariners (Ver. 2) - Oakland Athletics - Houston Astros (Houston Colt .45s) - Los Angeles Angels (Revamped Alts) - Texas Rangers NL West - - Los Angeles Dodgers - San Francisco Giants (San Francisco Seals) - Arizona Diamondbacks - San Diego Padres - Colorado Rockies AL Central - - Cleveland Indians - Kansas City Royals - Chicago White Sox - Detroit Tigers - Minnesota Twins NL Central - - Pittsburgh Pirates - Cincinnati Reds - St. Louis Cardinals - Milwaukee Brewers - Chicago Cubs AL East - - Boston Red Sox - New York Yankees - Baltimore Orioles - Tampa Bay Rays (Expos/Montreal rebrand) - Toronto Blue Jays NL East - - Philadelphia Phillies - New York Mets - Atlanta Braves - Washington Nationals (Senators rebrand) - Miami Marlins Each team will get four uniform options, including a home, road, and two alternate jerseys. For most teams, I will be avoiding adding throwbacks as their alts, but teams with classic looks like the Dodgers, Red Sox, and Yanks might end up with one as a fourth uniform option. some changes will be very small, others will be complete overhauls of team identities. And hopefully you'll like what I do to your favorite team's look. Anyway, that's enough talking. Let's get this thing started! As always, constructive criticism is encouraged. Enjoy!
  3. Add Nissan to the recent batch of brands gone barebones, as Nissan joins the flat design party. Current, soon to be former logo: New, soon to be current logo: Application on vehicle grille... It's ok for what it is. It looks more streamlined--and much better on that grille mockup than it does on a piece of paper. Side note: this now means that someone somewhere is gonna have to pay to update all the signage and branding around Nissan Stadium-- which just got redone barely three years ago...
  4. I decided to do a Nike MLB Uniform Refresh, some teams will get total rebrands, some will have altered colors, some will have new alternates, or get new throwbacks. Visit my Behance to see my other sports designs: https://www.behance.net/ianrasovsky For the diamondbacks, I updated the home and away uniforms by replacing the sand accents with teal, solidifying teal as their new tertiary color. I also added their purple alternate from 1998 on the new Nike MLB teamplate. I also created a new home cap, that replaced the sand in the diamonbacks's "A" logo.
  5. Welcome to 1stRound DraftPick’s Super Jersey Collection! In this thread, we’ll find out what every MLB team would look like if they kept ALL of their jerseys, and simply updated them. As a result, each team would have a plethora of uniforms to choose from for their 162 game schedules. I have a few rules for deciding which jersey to use/update. - Each team is limited to TWELVE (12) main rotation jerseys. Yes. Twelve. - Really old jerseys must be updated in some capacity. However, there are a few exceptions. - Jerseys that look too similar to a previous incarnation must be considered updates. Therefore, they cannot co-exist. - Teams can use jerseys from a previous iteration of their franchise, or from another franchise with the same name. For example, the current Milwaukee Brewers can use updated versions of the uniforms worn by the old Milwaukee Brewers that existed from 1894-1901, despite them being separate franchises. - New jerseys can also be added. Alright, with that out of the way….let’s get this started! Here’s a quick link to each team’s jersey collection: AL EAST Baltimore Orioles Boston Red Sox New York Yankees Tampa Bay Rays Toronto Blue Jays AL CENTRAL Chicago White Sox Cleveland Indians Detroit Tigers Kansas City Royals Minnesota Twins AL WEST Houston Astros Los Angeles Angels Oakland Athletics Seattle Mariners Texas Rangers NL EAST Atlanta Braves Miami Marlins New York Mets Philadelphia Phillies Washington Nationals NL CENTRAL Chicago Cubs Cincinnati Reds Milwaukee Brewers Pittsburgh Pirates St. Louis Cardinals NL WEST Arizona Diamondbacks Colorado Rockies Los Angeles Dodgers San Diego Padres San Francisco Giants
  6. Another Miami Marlins rebrand thread... I'll start by saying I'm not the biggest fan of the new logo in general and I was just getting used to their "look" after years of warming up to it. Any way, this lead me to create my version of some Miami Marlins logos. I'm not too sure how far I'm going to take this project as it was just purely fun for me to lay these out but I thought I'd get some criticism and feedback on where I'm at so far. The colors used are a mix of the old teal, and the now old orange..I doubt they're exact but inspired by anyway. The way I have these presented is in no particular order or hierarchy. They still need some refinement of course and I want to go back and explore more dynamic typography options although I don't mind the clean, bold look. Let me know what you think!
  7. Rebrand for my alma mater Western Michigan University. We aren't sure if we are black, gold, old gold, grey, or brown. I think the Brown and Old Gold is a great scheme and it's time to return to our roots. Enjoy. Uniforms to follow!
  8. Thanks for watching!
  9. I made an update concept of an old favorite logo. I thought it was too much things going on in the old version. so i cleaned it up. i took the font on the crown and used it as a main font for the logo
  10. I Want some sonic boom back! Here's an Seattle Supersonics concept I made
  11. here is a logo concept and uptate I did of 1990/91 - 1996/97 New Jersey Nets logo. logo. I´ve always thought it was an excellent logo. But the colors and finish were awful.
  12. An redesign concept I did on Golden State Warriors old logo. I used the yellow and blue color they have on their current logo. and fixed to the ball. I've always been disturbed by the lines that the ball has
  13. So, Fort Worth's transportation authority is getting (another) rebrand. Formerly "The T", then Fort Worth Transportation Authority. Soon, it'll be "Trinity Metro", and here's a leaked image of what the logo could be: A buddy of mine posted this when he went to one of the city council meetings on public transportation this past week and this looks to be what the group decided to go with as final. I believe the three triangles are supposed to represent the Trinity, which forms an "M". It's pretty clever... but it doesn't seem like something that would be used for a public transportation system. Looks more like a logo for a law firm or production company. The current (and soon to be old) logo: And some images of our buses that carried this logo for more than 20 years: Current look: So I'm not sure if they're going change the scheme of the buses and future TEXRail, but the rebrand is coming, probably sometime next year. Thoughts?
  14. Hi guys, My company is thinking about getting into doing full high school rebrands. Brand guidelines, wordmarks, primary, secondary, and tertiary logos, sport specific logos, custom fonts when necessary, the whole deal. Does anyone on here do any work like this? Does anyone have any resources they could send my way to help give me a better idea on what to charge for this type of service? I am having a hard time finding information on projects of this scale and their average costs. Any info would be very helpful. Thank you!
  15. This is just a quick and dirty concept I whipped up as an idea, should the Edmonton Eskimos choose to change the team name. I don't have a dog in the fight, so please stay away from the Native American mascot talk and keep to the concept. I think Polar Bears or Nannut, the Inuit word for polar bears, makes a lot of sense for Edmonton. Here's how it might look on the helmet: Here's a quick look at a green helmet: Please feel free to offer any criticism and critiques because this is just a very quick rough draft. I like the way it's headed but I'm not sure it's really there yet. Thanks for taking the time to have a look.
  16. I came across an idea for a secondary logo for the Stars, and decided to run with it. The presentation is below. I've got a version made up for the HJC Random Competition. The challenge was to create the Stars in red and blue, and you can find a link to that HERE.
  17. So a local high school of mine has been really trying to get away from this old logo and I decided to try an remake it, after all they mistakenly put it on their football field so they can't wipe it away forever. There's something off about my design that I can't quite put my finger on so that's why I'm looking for to C&C before I move onto working on jerseys and other branding. This was pretty difficult to do, especially the little staff which was nearly impossible.
  18. I made a little concept for a rival high school of mine. they use the overused bulldog logo that almost every team named the bulldogs use. C&C wanted.
  19. I was watching Allen Iverson's 30 for 30 and saw his rival school's logo. I researched the Hampton crabbers and found out they still have the same logo. They also have problem with brand control, they use many logos that aren't connected. I attached my concept along with the logos they use. The crabs claw form an H. I feel like I need to change the eyes but don't know what i should do. C&C wanted.
  20. I'm making a concept redesign of the Willingboro High School Chimeras. I thought the mascot was very unique and would be challenging. i was kind of in the dark because there aren't many teams with this name. The current logo is very outdated and you can't really tell what the face is ( a chimera is a mythical animal made up of a lion, goat, and snake). I'm planning on doing a full body logo and other partial logos. Any tips and feed back wanted.
  21. Doing a rebrand of the whole NHL with teams coming at random. Starting with the Columbus Blue Jackets
  22. I'm back with another rebrand! (I just can't give up can I?) This time, I was looking at college logos on the site and come across the atrocity of an identity. You guessed it, the Wofford Terriers caught my eye. It's utterly pathetic that a Division I college can't even manage to have a logo that looks better than your average clip art drawing. So I endeavored to tackle the design challenge before me and update the Terriers. I plan on doing jerseys eventually. To start, I redid the college logo. I used Edmond Sans bold as a base for the font, but I edited it to give the vibe of the original. As for the new logo, I essentially just improved on the anatomy of the terrier. You'll also notice I swapped the colors on the collar. This is my favorite logo of the package. I considered making it the primary, but I'm not really sure. C&C always appreciated!
  23. Decided to rebrand the Browns since they've been horrible since coming back into league in 1999. I think this will give them a fresh start that they desperately need. Went with brown helmets for a few reasons: To get away from looking like Cincinnati's twin and a team named the Browns should be embrace the color. Added grey to the colors because it seems to be the cool thing to do these days and it also works well with the orange and brown. Wanted the set to be modern but with a classic feel. C&C appreciated.
  24. For a while, i've been thinking about changing the NBA, because I wish that the Kings were still in Kansas City. So, I decided to make that concept, and more, editing NBA teams designs and cities, to make things make more sense and be sunshine, lollipops and rainbows in my brian. This means that the NBA will have a total of 32 teams, where some teams (like the one coming up soon) will either not move out of the city they moved out of, move to a different city or be born through the magics of expansion. Starting these changes, we have the San Diego (normally the Los Angeles) Clippers. HOME UNIFORM AWAY UNIFORM critique is appreciated
  25. After getting a little bored and thinking of teams in more sports than hockey that needed an update, I decided on the Colorado Rockies. I'm not sure about you guys, but from the moment I really started to really started to look at the Rockies' logo, I realized it was just crap. The font was outdated and just looked bad, and it was an odd mashup of wordmark and logo that just doesn't work. However, I tried to redo that while maintaining some of the logo's best aspects, and adding some new mountains and double purple. My goal for the redesigned Rockies was to be mostly black-free to create a more colorful and unique identity. Here is my initial product. With the primary logo, it is what I wanted it to be; a more simple, more purple, updated version of their current logo. I completely redid the mountains, which was my goal, as well as refined the shape and introduced a new font. However, when I look at the area under the mountains and around the "Colorado", something looks off. I can't put my finger on it, and I'd love if one of you guys could help me out. Here's a secondary logo I made pretty quickly. Not a ton to say, just a recolored Colorado flag 'C'. It'd make a good cap logo. In addition, I had some spare time and decided to photoshop my logo where the huge Rockies logo sign is at Coors Field. I was going to make jerseys, but I need to get more ideas and actually figure out how to make a good baseball jersey. What are your thoughts?
