  1. Hello all! I had some ideas brewing in my head and decided to get them out. Here's my ideas for World Cup kits for Japan and Korea. Japan - The primary kit is a more purplish blue with silver and pinkish red accents*, and the front number is encased on a subliminated sun. The secondary kit is a white-to-black gradient with the number inside the red sun from the flag. I went with just the crest on both kits instead of the usual flag-and-crest combo the team normally uses, because I thought it looked a little less cluttered. Korea - I wanted to keep the "Red Devils" primarily red, but draw some inspiration from the flag also, hence the yin-yang inspired design. The secondary kit draws inspiration from the flag also in the way the colors are used; accented with blue and red with a curvy mini-sash, I made the numbers black to use all the colors of the flag. The third kit is a black set with red and blue accents that I felt made for a good alternative for Korea. Let me know what you think! *EDIT: The pinkish Red looks more reddish on mobile than on desktop for some reason
  2. HELLO EVERYONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm back.. And i'll try to be more active here, lets see how that goes... NEXT POST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I have seen NFL and, currently, NBA crossovers, but I have yet to see a baseball-soccer crossover. I even did some searching for one. Anyway, I thought I would try my hand on it. I'm taking comments on any and everything. Here's the first one: Arizona Diamondbacks SC I went with their secondary logo, as it seemed to fit better as a soccer badge. All fonts used in this series will be from Conrad's MLB package. Concepts done in Illustrator and Photoshop. EDIT: I should also mention, if it hasn't already been recognized, that the kit sponsors are just the namesake of the home ballpark. In the case there isn't a sponsored park (Yankee Stadium), I'm using a prominent ad from within the park.
  4. Hi guys! Well, I'm starting this new project here in the forum. My idea is to imagine the NBA franchises as MLS franchises. It's a simple thing, I think other people should have done it here, but I think it's worth bringing my vision to you. The shirts will be made in alphabetical order, and starting from the beginning, let's go to the Atlanta Hawks! HOME JERSEY AWAY JERSEY THIRD JERSEY CITY EDITION JERSEY
  5. Hey y'all! I've never really posted a topic before, so I feel like I should introduce myself a bit. I'm FlyingLamprey (please feel free to shorten this however you like - FL, Lamprey, etc), and I've been a member of the CCSLC boards for about 2 years now (joined in August of 2014), though I haven't really posted a lot. I've mostly spent my time on the boards observing and commenting on other people's concepts, and I'd like to think that I've learned and improved a lot over the years. I've had quite a few ideas bouncing around in my head, and this August I decided that I would get around to actually posting some of these ideas somewhere. With that said, here's my first series! Soccer! I love soccer! Second favorite sport of mine behind baseball. I also love the World Cup! A great way to bring the world together behind one concept (and to get us Americans actually interested in it for a month!). So, it only seems fitting that my first concept series on the forums would be to make jerseys and some logos for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Simple enough, right? Before I get started, however, a few things to note: I will post two nations a day (going in alphabetical order), starting today and ending on November 6th, though there's always the chance that I'm too busy that day to post (in which case the two will be added to the next day's posts) Not only have I created 32 different home and clash kits, I have also changed 13 different logos. This is because the old ones were either so outdated or ugly that they needed SOMETHING different (it also helps me practice logo making, something my other series are going to rely heavily on). My choices for countries were made when I started this in August, so you may see some teams here that have already been eliminated from World Cup qualifying (hi Canada!) Team choices are FINAL. As we go along, you may notice that I've left out some more traditional teams in lieu of some more unorthodox teams. The reason for this is threefold: 1) Traditional powerhouses normally have logos that don't need to be changed and I wanted to be able to make some logos, 2) I find myself rooting for the underdog a lot (I had a blast cheering on Iceland and Wales during this summer's Euro tournament), and 3) I'm a hater. This will not change no matter how much you bug me about it, so please save us all the trouble and don't. Once the actual World Cup field is finalized, I might go through and create concepts for the teams that I missed, so you can look forward to that. Other than that, I've got nothing else to add. Huge thanks to @raysox for the amazing template, happening to have logos when I couldn't find them, and general support; and another huge thanks to @timberwolf for giving me feedback on some designs. Enjoy the series, and please post your thoughts and what could be changed! I am always looking to improve, so C&C is always appreciated! I'll be posting the first two teams immediately after this post. TEAMS (in alphabetical order): Argentina Australia Belgium (v2) Bulgaria Canada Chile Colombia Costa Rica Côte d'Ivoire Czech Republic Denmark Ecuador Egypt France Germany Iceland Iran (v2) Ireland Italy Japan New Zealand Nigeria Russia Scotland Slovenia South Africa South Korea Switzerland
  6. Hello everyone! I came here to show my new project, which basically is: I get football players in their current clubs, and put them in the same clubs, but in other times. Simple, but I think it's very interesting! If you want to see my creative process, and see some posts ahead of time, follow me at instagram.com/donelece. Enough talk, and let's go to the posts: LIONEL MESSI | BARÇA 80's PAULINHO | BARÇA 90's LUISITO | BARÇA 80's
  7. Hello! In this topic I will post the concepts of football shirts I am making. I thought it was better to make a topic for all football shirts than to create one for each league, but I'm going to post concepts here for clubs around the world! If you want to see my creative process, and see some posts ahead of time, follow me at instagram.com/donelece. 8. Recently, I participated in the Fuse Sessions Sport Branding Workshop with Joe Bosack. During the workshop Joe guided us through a quick history of sport branding, his professional experience and gave us some great information on how to concept and design sport identities. For the workshop, I chose to create a new an identity for a new MLS Expansion team in Nashville. The final mark was inspired by Nashville's music scene, printing/letterpress studios and the Gateway bridge. The color scheme was pulled from the neon signs that line Broadway.
  9. Well, the Sounders lift the MLS Cup, and its time to look to the next season. So what to expect? Will the NASL survive? Will the USL take over D2? Will Seattle fans be incredibly insufferable? Will the Cosmos ever pay all those players and staffers their back wages?
  10. The NWSL will have a new team next year, as FC Kansas City has officially moved to Utah and been re-named Utah Royals FC. Gotta be a shame when the NWSL team has such a better name and badge than its MLS brother. I especially like the inclusion of the Delicate Arch, which really shouldn't work as well as it does.
  11. Does any one here have ties to LSUA or know anyone who does? They held a logo contest back in August & have yet to post anything about it. Wondering what became of it, I've tried to make contact but haven't had much luck. Below is the add they posted. If this is not the right place for this by all means please move it to where it belongs, thnx! https://www.lsua.edu/news/noteworthy/2017/08/01/lsua-athletics-logo-contest

  13. Just wanted to share a new template I created intended to display a uniform of any sort. Below are two finished examples, one with soccer, and another with football equipment. Message me to get a hold of a blank template with no watermark. It is saved as a png. file and I personally used paint.net. Nothing special just hoping it may spark someone's interest. Enjoy! I am accepting feedback to adjust as well.
  14. A newly created USL franchise has been announced and they want people to design a logo for them. http://www.lasvegaslightsfc.com/logo I imagine most here will not be happy with this.
  15. Hello, Everybody. I was thinking about joining CCSLC Fantasy Sports. And with the leave of dwertman from LPP and LPI, two spots opened. I kept his idea of French teams, because I like french football and I didn't wanted to go that far from the current locations of the teams. The two teams: LPI - AS Toulon Olympique LPP - Stade Biarritz So, any comments?
  16. I know someone made the same series as this, but the Lower Island soccer association hits home for me. This is my first topic so I'm experimenting here. I played for Prospect lake in this league and I have decided to do a cool project. There are 10 teams in this league. The league was founded on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. I will be doing the teams in alphabetical order. In my opinion, the league looks outdated and needs a whole league re - brand. This is my take on the Lower Island Soccer Association. I will start with the league logo. As you can see, we have the actual logo and my concept. In my concept, we have the word "LISA" and a soccer ball in the bottom. It's very hard to tell but in the background of the logo, we have a modernized maple leaf representing Canada, of course. NEXT UP: Bays United
  17. Forgive what is a double post, but the General Design forum doesn’t seem to be running rampant with active users. These are at least concepts for a real-life soccer league, so I’m hoping this is considered a legit post. Anyway, I'm in the throes of creating an adult rec soccer league in my area--the Rocky Mountains. I'm calling it Apex Rec Soccer League, drawing on both the noun and the verb form of the word "apex." I've narrowed down about 20 ideas to these two, both of which are shown in color and B&W. I have my thoughts on which is better and why I designed the way I did; typesetting will be completed when I finalize the logo itself. I'll hold off on my own thoughts until there is initial feedback. Thanks in advance for any ideas/praise/critiques.
  18. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/imagine-nfl-soccer-style-relegation-023418506.html Interesting story about what the NFL would look like in a relegation/promotion setup. The only part that definitely doesn't work is having NFL, CFL, AFL, and NCAA teams in a playoff, but maybe the bottom 4 play for the #1 pick?
  19. We've touched on this in the domestic soccer thread, but I think this is now big enough that it deserves its own thread. Last year, the US Soccer Federation sanctioned two leagues as Division 2 - the NASL, which had been the only D2 league, and the USL, which had previously been D3. The NASL almost folded at this point, and was only spared when Rocco Commisso saved the Cosmos from going under at quite literally the last minute. That gave the NASL a stay of execution, but only a temporary one. Last month, the owner of the NASL's Miami FC partnered with the owner of the semi-pro Kingston Stockade FC, filing a claim with the Court of Arbitration for Sports in an attempt to force the USSF to institute promotion and relegation in US Soccer. Two days later, it came out that the USSF had rejected the NASL's application to retain D2 beyond this year. Now the NASL, led by the Cosmos, has filed an antitrust lawsuit against the USSF in a desperate attempt to keep its D2 status. At its heart, the lawsuit is intended to challenge the USSF's minimum requirements for a second-division league, including the number of teams in the league, the geographic distribution of teams (how many time zones are covered), market size of the cities represented, each stadium capacity, and the minimum financial requirements for team owners. Now, the irony is that the NASL helped USSF write those guidelines back in 2010 in a deliberate attempt to shut out the USL, but has never been able to meet them. The biggest problem is that they've fallen short on the number of clubs; according to the standards. By year six they were supposed to have twelve clubs. This is their seventh season but only have eight, and one of them is threatening to fold if more people don't start showing up. This is a huge mess, and threatens to derail a growing sport. There's some pretty good summaries of the issues from people in the know here and here. Thoughts?
  20. The 2017/18 Premier League season begins this weekend, and it looks to be as competitive as ever with TV money flying left and right during the transfer window. I decided to undertake the task of designing every team's kits for the upcoming season, and will be post a few a day, in reverse order of last season's standings. I hope you enjoy! Promoted (via playoff): Huddersfield Town Promoted (2nd in EFL Champ.): Brighton & Hove Albion Promoted (1st in EFL champ.): Newcastle United 17. Watford 16. Burnley 15. Swansea City 14. 21. I've been reading these boards for a couple years, but have never had the time or patience to create a concept series until now. The main reason i chose to redesign the CONCACAF Gold Cup is because most of the countries have very basic and template designs and lack any patriotism, especially the US. The main inspiration on all the teams will be the nations' flag, along with influence from past uniforms. First up from Group A, Canada. I kept the logo unchanged since they already have one of the best in the region. The uniforms are pretty straight forward. The Home is a Red jersey with a white chest stripe(for obvious reasons) and accents for the home kit. White with a subliminal maple leaf at the bottom of the torso as well as a flag styled stripe on the sleeves. The black third uniform uses a similar sleeve stripe and red and white accents on the jersey and shorts. The socks are black and red stripes opposed to the red with white stripe on the home and road socks. All three feature a line from "O Canada" above the name on the back. "our home and native land", "see thee rise", and "the true north".
  22. Here's a logo, some kits, and some mockups I put together for a potential MLS expansion team in St. Louis. After looking around a bit, the expansion might not be realistic, but I can dream, right? Anyways, here's what I made. *Arena mockups not mine *Arena mockups not mine *Arena mockups not mine And that's it! Keep in mind I didn't make any of the arena mockups, but the rest of the work is all mine. Rip it apart.
  23. The Northstar Soccer League is a fictional soccer league made up of 20 teams from all across the great state of Minnesota, I hope you enjoy this series.
  24. Recently some of the details for Belgium and Adidas' World Cup 2018 kits were leaked. It was noted that 2018's kits would be more vintage and would draw from older retro kits. For Belgium's, it was leaked that the kit will draw on the famous 1984 Euro kits, which were most notable for the big argyle stripe on the front. Taking this knowledge, I mocked up what Belgium's kits could look like for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The primary kit, as usual, is a red shirt, but is paired with black shorts, hearkening back to the early days of the Belgian team. The most notable feature of the kit is the diamond pattern on the front, with a black and yellow diamond pattern across the chest. Above it are more dark red diamonds, in a gradient pattern. This pattern aims to draw from the retro design, but give it a modern twist. A black, gold and red trim is featured all over the kit, mimicking the Belgian national flag. For the secondary kit, I drew from the first ever Belgian national team kit, a white jersey with black, red, and yellow sleeve stripes and black shorts and socks. I made a fauxback of sorts, combining a few different eras and smaller details from across the team's history. For the jersey, I went with a cream color instead of a white, creating more of a vintage look. A dark cream horizontal pinstripe lies on the kit, fading as it descends. The crest is the original Belgian crest, which is found on both the shirt and shorts. The shorts and socks are the same as the primary kits'. Let me know what you think of the kits! Hope you enjoyed!
  25. Edit; Closer images now added. Sorry. So the Republic of Ireland are moving to new balance this summer so here are my new kits for them. They feature Celtic knots in various ways. Home - Traditional emerald kit that fades darker then revealing the Celtic knots. Touches of orange make it stand out as a ROI kit. The shorts are simple and the socks feature the same fade as the top. Away - Using the classic white with a green knot coming down the front on the crest side. The collar features the Irish flag. The classic feeling continues with solid green shorts and solid white socks. Tell me what you think.
