  1. The Alaska Amaroks would be an NHL expansion team, based in Anchorage, Alaska. Since the Sullivan Center is not big enough to host NHL games, a new arena would need to be constructed. The team would draw support from all around the state of Alaska (market size of about 750,000), as well as the Canadian province of Yukon. They would play in the Western Conference. The franchise would be the only Big 4 (American Football, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey) sports team in Alaska. An Amarok is a giant wolf in Inuit (Native peoples of Alaska and the North American Arctic) mythology. Main Logo: Wordmark: Uniforms: The pattern on the wordmark and the uniforms is based on an Inuit art theme, and also represents the mountains in Alaska. The uniforms all feature the Big Dipper, which is depicted on Alaska's state flag. C&C Welcome and Appreciated.
  2. UAA has used the same classic, tribal art influenced, logo since 1973 (REF). As stated, the logo is classic; but I was wondering - What if UAA would update their look? What would a Seawolf look like if it were modernized? What is the basis for the Seawolves name? In Haida and Tlingit culture; a seawolf is an enormous creature that preys upon pilot and killer whales. It as four legs with fins, a head similar to a wolf, and a tail like a fish or a whale or sometimes a prehensile tail. (This is not a wolf with an eye patch ) Before becoming the Seawolves, UAA's nickname was the Sourdoughs in reference to old sailors..... good upgrade. After researching historic and contemporary Haida and Tlingit depictions of seawolves I got to drawing out what a new Seawolves logo might look like, so here is my concept logo for the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves: Newest idea: 1/15/18 1/16/18 1/17/18 C&C Apreciated
  3. This concept was started a few years ago here: http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/98132-vintage-style-lipscombcoloradohoward/ . And I just went back and cleaned it up. Let me know what you think of the updates. Here is the image: And a GIF for comparison:
  4. Hey Guys! It has been awhile but I am back with a new concept. The Hartford Wolfpack logo has always been out of place in the AHL for me, so I thought I can bring something new to the table. This logo I designed is very simplistic with a huge nod to their NHL affiliate, The New York Rangers. The classic shield has a little modernization with a Wolf in the center. I stuck with the current Wolfpack colors except I added Navy, to me, its a huge upgrade. As for the jerseys, I went with a very simple look, but still have that classic feel. I hope you Guys like this one! C&C Welcome!
  5. I want to start this off by saying that IMO much of the Timberwolves current set looks good (but I am a fan of the team). I am of the group of people that thinks they should reach back and use a blue/green/silver color scheme. I also think that the current "angry wolf head" looks like a strange wolf/coyote/saluki mix. All of these thoughts will show through in my concept. There are things about this concept that may have been tried, in another way, before; but it seems like this is the first time they're all put together into one concept. So I give you the Power of the Pack:
  6. Minnesota has a lot of hope going forward. That hope will likely produce a new look in the coming years. This is my refresh/tweak of their current primary. I've always liked their primary but thought it was lacking a little fierceness, the eyes always looked dull. Also, I'd love to see the team re-incorporate the original Blue-Green color scheme. My reference material, aside from the current and past primaries, is this photo:
  7. This is an update to a team I've been working with for awhile. The original logo turned out pretty neat, but looked more like an illustration than a logo. My main objective with this redo was to create something simple and introduce secondary logos to my league work. I feel like my design skill is still evolving, so I'd like to affirm that on the forum:) I'm set on the colors, but I'm open to c&c on the logos.
