  1. Alright so this is my first post on this sight, I’ve been a fan of this sight for a while and I’ve just been amazed by the stuff I have seen people create from Logos from scratch to redesigning older logos and giving them a modern twist, to people totally redesigning a league. So a few weeks ago I decided to actually start making my own concept logos and uniforms for fun when I’m bored and there’s nothing to do, this may even help me out in the future but there still are a lot of things that I need some help on. So my first concept I wanted to do kinda backfired on me because there were a few things that I couldn’t find so I dropped it and I kinda gave up almost until a few days ago I decided to give it another shot but change it from baseball to a hockey concept because I thought it would be alittle easier to start off with, the team I had in mind creating a concept with was the Winnepeg Jets, now I live in Michigan so I’m a Red Wings fan but I thought about creating a Winnepeg Jets Alternate because they don’t have one. My inspiration for my uniform was there throwback 1979-90 road uniform and there 1991-96 road uniform I was leaning more for the 1979 look more because I looked more unique than the 1991 look. 1991-96 1979-90 And heres what I got so far But there’s a problem you see the striping on the bottom of the 1979 uniform I want to add that on the uniform as well and the striping on the elbow from the 1991 uniform but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet. Please help because I would like to finish this and this will help me out greatly for future projects. And if your also wondering I'm using Photoshop CS5. *UPDATE* Thanks to all the help Ive gotten since I posted this I finally finished the uniform and it was really simple actually but thanks to the community I figured it out. Here it is!!! Now its nothing too over the top but this was a good starter to get my feet wet into this, if there's any improvements you think i should work on to make my work look better feel free but keep it positive since Im just getting started
  2. This is only my second concept and the first one I'm posting. I'd love to hear ways you think this design could improve. I always felt that despite having some exceptional logos, the Buffalo Sabers have always had lackluster unis. He's my concept for a new alternate jersey, because basically anything is better than their current one. I drew some inspiration from their vintage looking alternate from 2010-2011 and tried to combine in with a sleeker look from their buffa-slug days. I came up with the crest by combining a former shoulder patch, which I slightly re-colored and placed atop their traditional golden ring. Hope you dig it - Nick Empirical Designs
  3. I decided to mix this look: with this look: and got this baby: Comments and Criticism welcomed Edit: Made the logo and facemask gradient. Looks WAAAAY better
  4. Hey! I created a sports team logo concept. The team is called the Cape Cod Curve, for Cape Cod, MA. The Curve is for the geographical form of Cape Cod,and the waves at the beach with a "curve" shape. I have four logos, the primary, secondary, wordmark, and alternate. They can work for all types of sports teams. I havent decided on if i should have a lighter or darker blue color. (by the way, blue is for the ocean, and orange for the sun) Here's the Primary: The orange background is the sun, and the wave is the resemblance of the "curve." Inspired by the Atlanta Hawks new old logo. My favorite logo of them all. The secondary: This one is simple; a wave with an orange outline that looks like a C, for Cape Cod Curve. I think this would look good as a ballcap logo, like the Cleveland Indians "C." Inspired by the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers logos. The wordmark: This one has three colors, sun orange, sky blue, and ocean blue. Last but not least, the alternate: This one I plan to not use as much, because i dont like the font after the C. Well, those are my logos! Please reply and comment! I need the help!
  5. Today marks the tenth anniversary that I joined the boards here at the CCSLC. I'd actually been a daily viewer/reader for a few months prior but had yet to post, as my membership was tied to this site's old home over on the boards at Fanhome.com, as were most of the members who joined here in the site's early days. Actually, I should correctly say that it wasn't yet a site at all, but rather just message boards. The website of sportslogos.net would come later. As I was joining this board, I had been bed-ridden for exactly a month, having been smashed head-on in a car accident by a car who was running from police after a bust on a crystal meth lab. He suffered a broken foot and was in and out of the E.R. in a few hours. I spent 3 days in I.C.U. and another 8 weeks at home recovering from a trip through my truck's windshield. During that time I obviously had plenty of time to lay around and play on the computer, and so I made the move from the dying Fanhome over to this site on March 4th, 2004. While I was already adept at illustrator I'd never really applied it outside of work applications (designing signs and billboards), so my first concepts here were actually done in MS Paint until I learned the in and outs of every illustrator tool that was NOT the text feature. I was blown away by some of the talent here and I knew I wanted to be a part of it, from the brilliance of Nitroseed, to the bizarre I-cant-look-away stylings of Discrimihater, to the MS Paint mastery of Steve-O and Against All Odds (later known as AAO), this board was where a sports fanatic artist like myself needed to be. Through 10 years I've amazing artists come along and shine and later pass the mantle down to others...guys like Nitroseed, AAO, PCGD, Buc, AndrewHarrington, Davidson...even myself for a short time, so it's amazing and fills me with joy to see guys like Conrad and ren69 reaping the praise currently. I've seen knotheads like Mojoto and JamesCraven mouth their way right out of here, and I've seen BringBackTheVet live up to the widely held belief that Philly sports fans are probably the most knowledgeable on the planet. Most importantly I've enjoyed the brethren and camaraderie that this fraternity has provided. It helped me recover from a life-threatening car wreck, and has helped me become a better artist both independently and commercially. Over the next few days I'm going to post a retrospective of my concepts through the years, from 2004 to 2014, not that any of them are any good, but most of them have been sitting locked away in photobucket for many years and just want to come out for some air again. With that said as I've said many times here...enjoy! This was my first concept here, originally done in paint and originally posted on the old Fanhomes board to no response (because the board was dead at this point). The Atlanta Falcons announced in training camp before the 2002 season that they would be changing things up for 2003, and this was my concept. I originally drew this concept in my sketchpad, before later doing a full "technical" rendering in full color on paper much like this one here, and also drawing Michael Vick in the uniform in action. Not knowing how pro sports teams actually go about selecting new logos and uniforms, I actually packaged this all up and sent it to the Falcons front office, and as you can imagine I never heard a response. A guy named James Craven, who would soon become a banned member here and never made concepts, posted a thread in the concepts forum asking for people to submit their concepts for the Falcons, Titans, Bills, and Bengals, which were the last 4 uniform hauls in the NFL at that time. Since I had this one sitting around I pulled it out here, and thus began my concept posting here on the CCSLC. A quick note: The custom font shown here is one that I have used many times in concepts since, and ironically is very, very similar to the current Arkansas Razorbacks font, though it pre-dates it by around 10 1/2 years. It should also be noted that I've re-used this jersey/pants template on several concepts as well.
  6. Since the end of the winter classic alts, the pens only wear their black home and white away jerseys. I took inspiration from the new Calgary Flames alternates. I used an older wordmark the pens used in the late 80's early 90's. The alternate logo I based off of a Baltimore Ravens logo, and I updated the "Vegas Gold" in the color scheme. C & C please!
  7. Hi all. This is my first concept so c/c is very welcome. I went for a classic, clean looking jersey because I love the old fashioned kind of look. However I used the newer "Vegas Gold" to try to modernize it and keep the Penguin identity unique.
  8. Hello all, In this topic I will begin my NHL Alternate Jersey Project. I will create an original alternate jersey for all 30 teams and I will give an explanation for each jersey. After my initial jersey I will go in alphabetical order starting with Anaheim (already in progress) I would love to here your guys ideas and criticisms of my work. Thanks again. -Toast
  9. I have finally gotten around to getting this series started. These concepts will go along with the NFL redesign I did a few month ago. Since this is my version of the NFL, I have tweaked the rules to my liking and they are: 1: Alternate uniforms may be worn only once per season 2: 1 alternate helmet will be allowed, but may only be worn with the designated alternate uniform. 3: Alternate uniforms will only be in the team's official colors, excluding throwbacks, but may be a different uniform design or template as long as it follows the league's standard uniform guidelines(number size & legibility, shoe color, etc.) Those are three basic rules that I considered and will follow as I continue to work on this series. These alts will range from straight up throwbacks, to re-colorings of my design for the team, to pro combat-type one-offs. I have just been making these as ideas come to me, so they wont be in any particular order. Some you will love and you may hate some of these as well, but these are just concepts. I am always open to suggestions to improve the uniforms and some c&c so please feel free to offer some input and feedback on these. So without further ado, here's the first concept Dallas Cowboys I am a huge Cowboys fan, so naturally they are first. The uniform i came up with was a "Cowboy Pride" uniform of sorts, based on the original cowboys uniforms and the 1994 uniforms with the grossly over-sized star on the shoulders. I tried to combine both of those uniforms into one that exhibited the best of both and compliments the Cowboys' traditional uniforms. I have a few more finished, so one more will be up tomorrow. Please tell me what you guys think. Thanks
  10. Okay, after putting my review for the Sharks I spent the last hour or so creating a mockup of what I would have done with Sharks if they gave me the opportunity. I know they wanted to listen to their fans while retaining some burnt orange, but the one stripe looks silly. If they are going to keep the orange anywhere on the sweater this would be a better way to go: But if it was me, here's what I would do if if the players didn't want helm striping. I took the orange, threw it up and sent it to Ducks Okay that really didn't make any sense. Anyway, got rid of the orange. Replaced it with a gray/silver. I also made the teal more teal-ish and lightened it. Used the diamond fin logo but with the lighter teal one-color wave with white cap and gray sky.
  11. what do you think about my basic 76ers alternat concept
  12. http://the700level.c...-jersey-colors/ I love the decision personally. I hope we go for a whole new alternate as well! Go Nuggets/Rockets style and bring back a retro like 1994-1996 or 2001.
  13. I created an Oilers alternate jersey which focuses primarily on the orange rather than the blue. Please let me know what you think and what I could improve on. *For updated jersey, please scroll down to 10th post* ↓
  14. This is a concept ive been workning on this past week hoping to get some c&c on it to see if these actually look good. I know some people dont like black on the lions as they perfer the more traditional look but i wanted to see what you guys had to say. I went with a black helmet with gradient stripes. On the uniform i tried to get the numbers to look like the material the ducks use.
