  1. Aaron Dodson from The Undefeated listed The 30 Best NBA Throwback Jerseys is response to Nike's announcement that eight teams will be wearing a Classic Edition uniform (READ: Throwback) this upcoming year. There's a lot to be said about Dodson's list, which needless to say, I don't agree with. So I thought I'd share ONE throwback for each 30 teams that I'd love to see worn. This isn't necessarily the best designed throwback from their team history, but more back to an era relatable to the fans and their history. Also, in the spirit of the NBA going with more Color vs. Color match ups, I decided to go with colored jerseys, especially since the Association Edition (READ: Home Uniform) will presumably be the only white jersey in team's collections. Anyways, here is my list. I'd love to see everyone else's opinions on what throwbacks you'd like your favorite team to sport next year or near future ...
  2. This is a project I'd had in my head for a long time, and I finally decided to make it happen. My concept for the NBA to be taken outdoors for the first time in history, the NBA Blacktop Series. The BS if you will. As crazy as it sounds, I think it would be possible if done right for an NBA game to be played outside. I mean if they can do it with hockey, they can do it with roundball. The more outlandish part of the idea is a proposal for the game to be played on an actual street court, Chicago's Margaret Hie Ding Lin Park Court in this case. It would fit in well with the NBA's mindset and would be kind of like bringing players back to their roots, where it all began, on a humble street court. So below are all the facets of what I think this could/should look like. LOGO The logo for the Blacktop Series is simple and uniform, but still hanging on to some uniqueness while serving as a kind of ode to Chicago's Hie Ding Park, with the underside of the El tracks center stage on the logo and court alike. Any further games would fit this same half-circle logo template. SECONDARIES UNIFORMS The matchup for the inaugural Blacktop game is Pistons/Bulls which i think is a healthy enough rivalry, esp. city wise, to kick the series off. The jerseys are noticeably button-up which will serve as a distinct icon of outdoor b-ball. Chi-Town's uni has a black base with the colors of the city's flag as bold accent colors. The Flag Shield secondary from the event logo is the sleeve patch and the flag's four six-point stars are an accent underneath the numbers. Detroit's jersey is much more understated with the D from their new logo on the left breast and the new logo itself as a sleeve patch. Motor City silver is the base. SEATING PLAN C&C hugely appreciated as this is the biggest single project I've done yet, so I'd love to hear what you think of the first installment of the NBA Blacktop Series! Thanks guys
  3. The NBA has decided to expand and reorganize the conferences and divisions while adding 6 new teams. The base conferences and divisions will stay the same. Each division will move to six teams. 4. So with the recent NBA releases,I had some ideas... and decided to translate them into concepts. Some stuff will remain intact: Nike Swoosh to stay,4 uniform format as well, although I'll increase the throwbacks to 10. Ads,however, are not welcome in this project; I don't like them (the way they are, they're merely a superflous gimmick, tbh) Teams that comprised the playoffs will go first, then everyone else based on standings. I'll alternate between the Western and Eastern conferences,Western first since the champions are from there. So,let's start with the 2016/17 champs: the Golden State Warriors The "Association" and "Icon" uniform are based off their look from the first half of the 1990s. These two feature a sublimated "bridge" graphic on the bottom left, taken from the primary logo. The slate grey "athlete's mindset" uniform has the same design, albeit printed in yellow/blue,while the yellow "community" uniform is a simplification of their current look + bit of a fauxback. Up next: I'll try to fix the broken new Cavaliers unis...
  5. Hi everyone! Not sure if you remember but I started this thread way back collecting NBA Jersey history information to make my personal database factually accurate. Now, as you may have guessed I've moved on to adding ABA jerseys in the database and I once again turn to this talented group of amateur historians for help! You can check out what I've done in the site itself: https://nbajerseydatabase.tumblr.com/tagged/aba Here are screenshots if you don't feel like clicking away: I'm open for all corrections and suggestions! Thanks for your help! All years and jersey information comes from: remembertheaba.com
  6. Hi, Here is a new project I've been working on, I've red interviews about the way they did the league, the way they've built the identities. With my informations, I wanted something to be eye popping really catchy, I've done researches and after a long journey with drawings, days with or without inspirations and tons of decisions, I come up with these designs. I'm happy to unveiled the team, the players I've picked are these I would love to see in the Big3's league. Enjoy feel free to give feedbacks. Captain Co-captain Coach
  7. Didn't see a thread for this: http://www.nba.com/jazz/nike1718?_ga=2.241182981.688412386.1502590075-2085097014.1496195062 http://www.nba.com/jazz/news/jazz-reveal-first-two-uniforms-2017-18-season
  8. Hello! This is my first ever uniform/logo concepts I have ever done. I am a graphic designer on Instagram, and I am taking a jab at concepts for the first time. Constructive criticism and Feedback is very welcomed!
  9. After making court concepts of all the NCAA D1 schools, I decided to do the NBA G League (formerly NBA D-League) next. Obviously many of these designs couldn't currently be used due to NBAGL teams sharing arenas/courts with other teams but it's still fun to design them. I didn't get as creative as I did with the NCAA courts because the NBA/NBAGL are still generally more traditional with their designs and I still want the concepts to be realistic. I used DarthBrooks court template. I will post them in groups of 5 (except for the last group which will be 6). A few things you might notice... The more unique logos the team has the more I tried to incorporate them into the court. Many of the courts are similar to their parent team's court. I added the team's parent team logo to the upper left and lower right corners. I didn't include websites, twitter handles, hashtags, etc. on the out-of-bounds area. Delaware 87ers Erie Bayhawks Reno Bighorns Oklahoma City Blue Windy City Bulls
  10. Hi, Happy new year to y'all , I don't know if I post my thread on the right place. I really like the graphic posters, since I've seen some I wanted to try to do one! after practicing for days and few tutorials I come to u guys with this..... Tell me what u think about it French lad!
  11. In my opinion, the Spirits of St. Louis were by far the coolest ABA identity. The funky, orange uniforms were just as awesome as they were seventies, and their logo was fantastic as well. And so if the NBA ever expands into STL, they should definitely reboot that awesome identity. Now, personally, i would have 0 problems with them literally just copying and pasting the Spirits design from 1975 to 20--, but I'm almost positive that would never happen, so this is basically my plan B. While i was brainstorming this in my head, I realized that a basketball already has a St. Louis Arch in it. How convenient is that?! It certainly helped serve as an anchor for this project, because i knew that would be the centerpiece with some plane-related imagery to help it. So as I was experimenting with roundels and such, i realized that i could get the exact image i was going for with simply a specifically angled basketball and two simple propellers. Along with a modern take on the vintage Spirits script, I'm pretty happy with the result. I'd really love to hear some C&C on this, I'm curious to hear what you guys think! Thanks!
  12. This is a real uniform the Steelers play off-season basketball in. They're playing the Pitt Panthers soon...
  13. As a Spurs fan, I was completely let down when the new secondary logo was recently released. I think the new logo is way too generic and does not represent the organization at all. Even though I'm not a fan of the simplistic logo trend going around the NBA, I wanted to design my own minimalist concept for the SA Spurs that featured the iconic Alamo with the basketball.
  14. Here are some concepts I did for NBA teams for next year. I hope you like them. Hit me up with C&C. I'll try to post three a day.
  15. So while I'm currently working on my NIKE NBA series, I thought I'd take a little break and work on some NCAA concepts. These are just some alternates for some random NCAA teams I found interesting. Enjoy and please let me know how you like them! First round of three here with many more to come!
  16. I guess it's that time again -- looking forward to the uniform and logo changes in the NBA for the upcoming 2016-17 season ... THE LAST YEAR OF ADIDAS! As has been twirling around Twitter, UniWatch and the mothership (thanks to Conrad) ... the "rumored" or "semi-confirmed" changes for 16-17 include Sacramento, Utah and Detroit. Not sure if this graphic confirms a change in the Celtics' primary logo? But, I'll post it here for speculation ...
  17. For those of you who are interested The Basketball Tournament or TBT officially released the logos for 60 of the 64 teams that have been accepted into the tournament so far.
  18. For my first ever post, I will be posting my redesigns for the current courts in the NBA. I do my work on MS Paint so please forgive me if some of my work comes out a little choppy. I do however strive to be as neat as possible with my work. Well, let's get started. First up are the Boston Celtics, a team with a timeless look is hard to redesign but I fixed a few things that I felt were amiss in their current look. The sidelines now read "Boston Celtics", (as they should), and retained is the classic parquet and the signature of legendary Celtics coach, Red Auerbach. The changes are minor but any change is significant when dealing with a team such as the Boston Celtics. Next up will be the Cleveland Cavaliers. C&C Greatly appreciated!
  19. One of the teams I see the most concepts for on the internet is the Oklahoma City Thunder, and for good reason. They have one of the best color schemes in the NBA, but never seem to utilize it to their full potential. I've had a few ideas for the Thunder floating around in my head for a while, but didn't exactly know how to implement them. I wanted to bring in some Native American themes using the Thunder's color pallete, but not go too too crazy with OKC's unique scheme. When it was announced that Nike would be outfitting the NBA next season, I set to work putting my ideas into reality. For this concept I created a custom tertiary logo for use on the shorts. It is a simple "OKC" monogram in the shape of a roundel. The background of the first version of the logo also shows off a special pattern I developed for the uniforms. Called Kiowa Sunrise, it combines Native American design elements with the OKC color scheme. This pattern is the bread and butter of the uniforms, and is also featured on the background of the first version of the logo. I wanted to keep the uniforms really simple and let the colors really speak for themselves. The uniform is simple plain white and features a blue old west style arching "Thunder" wordmark and sans serif numbers, similar to their current font. The main event really is the Kiowa sunrise elements, on the side panels of the jersey and at the bottom of the shorts. A plain white "OKC" logo is found at the bottom of the shorts. The powder blue away uniforms are the same as the homes with a few differences. White replaces the powder on the Kiowa Sunrise pattern, and a powder "OKC" logo replaces the white one on the bottom of the shorts. A white split "Oklahoma City" also replaces the "Thunder". I must admit, I went pretty out of the box with the alternate jerseys. The Kiowa Sunrise pattern is sublimated over the entire top of the black jersey, with an arched "OKC" over the number. The other big feature on these uniforms is the big logo style Kiowa Sunrise version of the OKC on the shorts. Other than that, the jersey is trimness and pretty stripped back to let the pattern talk. What do you guys think? Any constructive critism/feedback is welcomed.
  20. Hey everyone. While it's the most exciting time for Basketball fans these days, I felt an immense desire to update all NBA courts for the upcoming season. I've done like 7 courts already, but let's just start with the Pelicans.

    SBA logos

Hey everyone I recently had some free time, between doing my class projects, so for fun I whipped up some quick logos for a men's basketball league I play in back home. What do you guys think? C&C always welcome.
  22. Howdy folks! I started a concept art project for what future WNBA teams would look like should they ever exist. Although not all NBA teams have "sister" teams who share the same arena as their NBA counterparts, I've came up with some ideas for possible "sister" teams to their NBA brothers. The first one I will be sharing is Boston. I present to you, the Boston Charm, sister team to the Boston Celtics. And yes, I've designed the unis and the court. The Charm uses the same exact color scheme used by the Celtics: green and gold. It also uses the iconic shamrock in its logo and on its uniforms. I also added a second alternate uniform which is black and has "Bean Town" written across the front. I know the court is missing a few things, but I just wanted to give the general idea of what the court is expected to look like. The TD Garden logo's placement is different from the one on the Celtics court. More teams will be coming soon and I hope to submit my ideas to the WNBA when they're ready to expand. Also, I'll be doing new concepts for the defunct teams from the early 2000s. I would gladly appreciate any and all feedback. Ask yourself; what do you think about the team name, the court, the uniforms, the idea in general?
  23. Something that I randomly thought of the other day as I was listening to sports radio. The host kept mentioning the "Bullets" when talking about the then-upcoming Game 3 between the Celtics and Wizards and it made wonder if he was doing it intentionally because he hates the name Wizards, or if because the Wizards are playing Bullets dress up. My mind wandered to the logo of the Bullets before the name change how it went from an actual bullet through a basketball to....well this: and I wondered about other logos that showcase nothing about the nickname but instead focused on the sport in some form or another. Some that came to mind were: Any other ones you can think of that seem more to advertise the sport itself rather than the team?
  24. While recently brainstorming on how to improve the Clips horrendous rebrand, i came up with this idea for a simple clipper ship logo with LAC worked into the sails. C&C appreciated!
